When Katsuki told the loser to 'Take a swan-dive off the roof' in hopes for a quirk, he had never meant for the green haired idiot to take him seriously. Looking back at it now, Katsuki saw how cruel the words were, how unheroic they were. All Deku ever wanted was to be a hero, Katsuki could have just let the tests speak for themselves when the twerp failed.

'Why did I have to go and open my stupid fucking mouth?!' Bakugo thought as he hysterically ran through the halls of the school to reach the ground floor.

"What the fuck are you doing Deku?! I never thought you were fucking stupid enough to listen to me!" He cursed before rushing to grab Izuku's shirt and pull him back. Izuku had the nerve, the fucking nerve to smile sadly at him as gravity took hold .

There was screaming from the remaining students that hadn't left yet. It annoyed him since the sound reverberated through his mind and gave him a piercing migraine. He was at the front doors of the school now, all he needed to do was make a right and Deku would be right there.

He had barely touched the shirt as he watched Izuku fall, snagged by his hand, his body hit the side of the school first, before continuing its descent. Katsuki's eyes widened in disbelief as the moment felt a bit surreal. Everything about Izuku was like a bubble in that moment. He was light, delicate and radiant.

The teachers were slow to respond as Katsuki thought he heard one of them finally be of some fucking help and called an ambulance. The blond boy had finally reached where Izuku should have been as his feet stopped and he stumbled. His breath hitched as he breathed quickly, falling to his knees. 'This shouldn't have happened! Wh-Why? Why did you fucking listen to me DEKU?!' He screamed in his mind or was it aloud as he reached out.

And like a bubble, Izuku burst. Or more specifically, his body violently rammed against the side of the building a few times before his head hit the cement. A morbid thought passed through Katsuki's mind. Looking down, the scene reminded him of Adzuki Kakigori. Red. There was so much red, everywhere.

Katsuki whimpered as he felt that Izuku's body was still warm, but ' Oh, why the fuck is his neck like that?! ' A warm liquid seeped into his pants where his knees were touching the ground. "Deku, Deku! Do-Don't worry Deku! I'll-I'll fix your stupid head! Everything's going to be alright you hear me nerd?!" He screamed before placing both hands on either side of Izuku's head and twisting .

Crack, crack, CRACK!

Izuku was still staring at him with wide, glossy eyes. Katsuki was wondering where the hell the ambulance was, they could still save him! Where were they? Strong arms were pulling him back and away from Izuku's body as he struggled, crying. "No! NO! DEKU! I-I-COME BACK IZUKU!"

Like the Adzuki Kakigori in summer, Izuku also melted, fading out of Katsuki's sight, but the color of red would always remain.

Katsuki blacked out.

The police had grilled him with questions as Katsuki answered them honestly. Midoriya-san had refused to see him as his mother pleaded with the woman to at least talk with Katsuki. 'For closure' she had said. Midoriya-san had closed the door on their faces as Katsuki refused to look up. It was his fault after all.

The funeral had a few people, the body was left covered since-since! It would have been too gruesome of a sight for them to have to see again. Even after reconstructing the remains of Dek- Izuku 's head and face, Inko hadn't wanted anyone who cared to see her son like that. She wanted the image of his wide, kind smile and warm green eyes to be what people remembered him by.

Not red-stained bones covered in a layer of fat and flesh. The side of Izuku's face where it hit the ground was sunken in, but why weren't they healing him? It's ok if they can't give Deku back his one eye, Katsuki would cover for him. He would always be by Izuku's side from then on, to make sure nothing caught the green haired boy off guard.

Katsuki felt like the black tie he was wearing was choking him, although the look that Midoriya-san was giving him could be contributing to the tension pounding down on him. She wouldn't let him get closer than a few feet to the body. Katsuki couldn't blame her.

"...While your words were definitely cruel, you shouldn't blame yourself for Izuku's suicide ok? We can tell how much you regret what you said, and we know you tried to save him. What happened was simply out of your control ."

The police had let him off with a slap on the wrist because they knew him and knew that he was aiming for U.A. 'But De-Izuku wanted to be a hero that went to U.A too... no one can give him a slap on the wrist and tell him it's ok.' He thought as he choked, before turning away angrily. His mother gently placed a hand on his back as she guided him out, his father staying behind to help Midoriya-san with the rest of the funeral.

He couldn't let this shake him up, 'D-Izuku...I'm-I'm going to train. I'm going to train my ass off and enter U.A. I'm going to become the number one hero for the both of us! P-Please watch me from wherever your dumbass is!' Katsuki internally thanked his mother as she covered his face and muffled his crying by hugging him. 'This-This is the only way I can make it up to him!' Katsuki let out a scream.

For the boy who only wanted to be a hero, he would carry on that dream and fulfill it .

Bored yellow eyes peered about the city, looking for something interesting to pop up. 'Boring, boring...definitely boring...boring boring bor-wait.' They finally leaned forward, eyes focusing on something in the distance. A dark grin grew on their face as they jumped to their feet, "Oh! How exciting! I haven't been able to make one of these in awhile with the rise of heroes and all that!"

They flew, invisible to the civilians, over the rooftops and between electric poles before reaching their destination. It was a cemetery. "Hm...the soul just died recently, but it'll do!" They said cheerily before searching through the tombstones for their target. After a few minutes, they stopped, eyes crinkling as they smiled.

"Why...hello there Midoriya Izuku . You certainly died with quite a heavy regret, didn't you? And you had such a grand fate awaiting you had you survived!...No worries, let Ishi-san take care of you ok?" They laughed before manifesting a shovel. The earth was still soft and fresh from where Izuku's coffin was buried.

Nine months had passed by as Katsuki grew distant from his other classmates who weren't all that bothered that he had separated from them. Katsuki couldn't give a shit since they were always fucking extras anyways. He had more important matters to take care of. No one, not even the teachers dared mentioned Izuku's name around him, in fear of facing Katsuki's wrath.

His parents thought it wasn't healthy for him and had long suggested him a therapist, but after little progress was made they just decided to trust in their son and told him they would always listen if he needed them to. 'I don't need a fucking therapist, what I need is to get stronger so I can ace these fucking exams for U.A!' He thought as he gritted his teeth and packed his bags to go home.

Today, it was a little cold outside as Katsuki made his way home, the sun setting behind him. His mom had gotten on his ass about coming home early since there was some fucking unknown villain going around attacking everyone. And by everyone, the news meant everyone . Villains, innocents and Heroes alike were attacked, but strangely enough, no one seemed to remember what the person attacking looked like.

The police chalked it up to the person's quirk being able to hide their appearance. 'They're so fucking useless…' Katsuki scoffed before turning and walking along the quiet streets to his house. After a few minutes, a shuffling sound alerted him to someone following behind him. Katsuki narrowed his eyes, but made little indication to show that he was aware.

'If this fucker thinks he's gonna get the jump on me he's got a face full of pain waiting for his dumb ass!' He cursed in his head as the sounds came closer. It was strange, the noises didn't sound like normal footsteps. If anything, it sounded like someone was jumping? Behind him. The sun cast a shadow on them as he looked down to see a curious sight.

'What kind of fucking idiot sticks both of his arms out and has paper on his face?' Katsuki immediately snapped around and raised both hands to blast the weirdo away before his eyes widened and he stopped. Wide, green, dead looking eyes stared back at him from a frighteningly familiar face.

Katsuki trembled as he backed away, the eyes remained focused on his figure unblinking. The skin was greyish with a green tint and there were noticeable areas that indicated scarring. "...od…" It said in the same voice Katsuki had last heard nine months ago. "What the fuck?...What the fuck, what the fuck, what the ACTUAL FUCK?!" Katsuki cursed as the creature jumped, attacking him as fangs came forth from its mouth, aimed at him. "FOOD!"

'Well fuck you too!' Katsuki thought before setting off an explosion in its face, singeing the long talisman attached to its face. The creature reared back in what Katsuki hoped was pain before he pushed it off. "Food? Hungry! Food, here? Eat!" It repeated as Katsuki looked at it with disbelief. Even if it looked like Izuku, sounded like Izuku and was as tough as Izuku (which meant not tough at all), the hopping creature in front of him can't actually be Izuku .

"Who the fuck are you, you damn weirdo?!" Katsuki asked as the eyes focused back on him. 'Ah, they're not the same green. Only the...left one is Izuku's…' Katsuki noted as his lip trembled, he bit it to stop. He swallowed before yelling at it again, making the creature jump nervously, just like Izuku used to do when Katsuki called his name in school .

"Hey! Asshole! I don't know what the fuck you're doing...but if it's food you want, come with me!" He said as he slapped himself on the face internally. 'What the fuck am I doing?...' The eyes didn't blink, but the creature seemed equally as confused and curious as it retracted its fangs and followed behind him.

After a few obnoxious sounding hops, Katsuki grew annoyed and whipped around. "Jesus! Dying only made you even more annoying didn't it Deku?!" He yelled without thinking before his eyes widened and he looked up at the creature guiltily. It said nothing as Katsuki gritted his teeth and turned away. "Wha-Whatever! Come on!" He said before going over to push the creature to go faster.

He didn't want anyone to see it and get the wrong idea. "Food?" It asked quietly as it hopped, Katsuki couldn't help but snort. "Yeah yeah, we're getting food, dumbass."

Thankfully, his parents weren't home as Katsuki pushed Izuk- the creature into their house, and quickly hid him in his room. "Stay the fuck right here understand?! I'm gonna make you some shitty food." It made no indication that it understood him, but after Katsuki realized it was standing still patiently where Katsuki placed him, the blond let out a sigh and closed his door.

Looking at the ingredients his parents left in the fridge he groaned, "Of course life would shit on me." He would be making the nerd's favorite dish he supposed. Taking out the pork and eggs, he began cooking. He tenderized the meat, coated it and breaded it, before frying it. Rice had been started in the pot as the aroma filled the kitchen. Katsuki had sliced up an onion before everything started coming together.

He had never noticed that the creature had come out and stood behind him, watching him cook. Something about the blond and the dish were familiar to it. It didn't understand why, but even before, when it attacked the blond, the creature didn't want to eat him. It couldn't remember its name or if it ever had one, nor if it were ever alive.

All it knew was its 'rebirth' and 'Ishi-san'. Oh, and hunger. Katsuki had finally finished as he turned around and recoiled back in shock as the creature peered at him curiously, like a child. It looked at him and then the food before asking, "Food? Hungry, eat?" Katsuki grinned, "Yeah, you can eat you fucking freak, you better sing my praises later!"

The blond placed the bowls of Katsudon down before pulling the chair out and sitting down. The creature nodded before Katsuki winced, hearing its joints crack as it sat down, mimicking what he did. Crack. Crack. Just like his neck that day he f-

Katsuki stuffed the burning hot slice of pork cutlet into his mouth before cursing from the searing pain. "Shit! That's fucking hot you dumbass self!" He ran to grab a cup of cold water before noticing that the creature had yet to eat. It sat there, dumbly staring at the chopsticks he placed on the table before Katsuki realized what was wrong. The damned thing could barely bend its joints to sit down, there was no fucking way it could use chopsticks easily.

He rolled his eyes before grabbing a fork and spoon and storming over to shove it into the creature's hands, before positioning the arms in a way that it could probably scoop the food with. It was a rather pitiful sight as Katsuki chuckled. The creature looked at him, then its hands with the utensils before lowering the arm with the spoon and scooping up some of the rice and pork cutlet.

Another series of cracks were heard as it brought the spoon of food to its mouth before hitting the corner of its mouth and sending the food flying down to the floor. "URGH! HOW HELPLESS CAN YOU BE DEKU?" The creature seemed taken aback at Katsuki's outburst before the blond violently took the spoon before getting some more food and shoving it roughly into the creature's open mouth.

Immediately, the jaws clamped together after the spoon left its mouth, as the creature seemed to like the food. There wasn't any actual indication of this, but Katsuki would like to think that's how good his cooking was. After a moment of chewing it swallowed before looking back at Katsuki with an open mouth. "Food? Again? Hungry."

The blond looked at it with a deadpanned expression, "Oh hell no, I'm going to teach you how to fucking use a spoon again De-weirdo." Katsuki seriously had to stop referring to the thing in front of him as Deku. Izuku was fucking gone and he had to realize that, even if the monster did suspiciously resemble him. Shoving the spoon back in the creature's clammy, cold hand, he made the motion for it to scoop up the food and brought it to the creature's mouth accurately.

He did this a few times before letting go and watching the creature keep repeating the motion. While it still got some rice stuck to its face, for the most part, it was consuming most of what he plated for it. Katsuki returned to his meal as well as they ate in relative silence. 'This is normal. Just me and a fucking creature that looks like my old childhood friend I used to bully until he-' He thought before slamming his hand down on the table, the other hand gripping his hair.

"Ugh! Just fucking move on already Katsuki! I know he's dead and nothing's going to bring him back so-" An empty bowl was thrust in front of him, cutting off his rant as Katsuki blinked and looked up. The creature smiled at him in a way that made him angry, its fang gleaming as it thanked him. "Full. Food. Good. Thanks!" It shouldn't be smiling at him like that, it reminded him too much of -

The sound of the front door being opened startle Katsuki who remembered his parents were coming home and that he had no way of explaining why there's a mysterious stranger who looked just like his dead friend in their kitchen eating food he cooked for it. "Shit!" He cursed quietly before stumbling up and pushing the creature to his room, hoping his parents would take a moment to come through the door.

"Katsuki? Are you home? Whatever you cooked smells wonderful!" His mom called out as Katsuki panicked, throwing Izu- the creature into his room with a harsh order to " Shut the fuck up and don't come out! Understood freak?! " Before slamming it closed. He really hoped the creature was smart enough to understand a simple command before walking back out to greet his parents.

"What do you want old hag?" He grumbled, sweating a bit nervously before his mom noogied him. "Don't call me an old hag brat! Also, what's with the second bowl and spoon? Did you have someone over?" She asked as Katsuki forgot it would look suspicious that there were a second bowl and set of utensils out. "I-Uh-Fuck you! I'm a growing boy so I eat a shit ton!" The cursing seemed to work to distract his mother who blew up on him using crude language.

They left him alone after he quickly chowed down on the leftover food from his portion and put the dishes in the sink. Quickly he retreated to his room, stating that he had homework to do. Letting out a sigh of relief he looked up to see the creature obediently staring at him, not moving from where he left it.

"Well...At least you can listen when it's important. Now, what the hell am I going to do with you?" Katsuki groaned as he plopped down on his bed after locking his door. He didn't need either parent accidentally peeking in and seeing the creature he spontaneously brought home. It turned to follow his form as it peered quietly at him, still smiling the stupid smile from earlier.

"Why are you fucking smiling at me, weirdo?" He asked it as it seemed to hop excitedly in place. "Full! Food! Good! Happy! Thanks!" It spoke in one-word sentences as Katsuki felt his heart hurt from seeing the childlike innocence that reminded him of Deku. Katsuki stood up and grinned as he noticed he was taller than it before walking over to observe it closely.

The eyes were the most active part of the creature as it seemed to be able and dart around, looking at his simplistic room. The dangerous looking fangs from earlier had retracted into small points that made the creature look somewhat cute. It had the same curly, dark green hair. The same stupid freckles that splashed across its face. Nearly everything was the same as Deku had once looked. Everything including the faint scars on its face indicating where De- Izuku's head had-

Katsuki tore his eyes away before shaking his head. He opened the window and made sure no one was passing by before pointing outside and telling it. "Leave. I already fed you so you can go now right?" Blank eyes remained on him before it did something to surprise him. Like a machine, its neck cracked, as it slowly shook sideways as if to say, 'No.' Katsuki blinked before growling, "What the fuck do you mean no? Get the fuck out of my house you weirdo!"

His mom had apparently heard him yell as she worriedly called back, "Katsuki? Are you talking to someone on the phone? Is everything alright in there?" "Yeah I'm fine you old hag! Just-uh, watching a fucking weird show!" He yelled back as she accepted the answer. He put both hands on the creature's back and tried pushing it out of his window and force it to leave his home but it refused to budge.

It was a lot stronger than he initially thought as Katsuki became red-faced trying to move it. "Why. The. Fuck. Are. You. Not. Leaving?!" He yelled, a bit quieter than earlier, as to not alert his mom before giving up. The creature was still smiling at him, although the smile was smaller than before. "No. Stay. Food. Happy. Stay." It said as Katsuki regretted ever bringing him home. Feed a stray animal and they'll try to return. Feed a weird ass monster that looks like your dead friend and they'll never want to leave, it seemed.

Katsuki threw his hands up in surrender before pointing threateningly at the creature. "Ok, listen here shit stain. If your ass is going to stay, you're going in the fucking closet and stayin there understand? I don't want my mom or dad walking in and freaking out about you!" The creature didn't nod but Katsuki could tell it understood as he was finally able to push it over to the closet and shove it inside.

It stood obediently as he closed the door, "And don't come out unless I tell you to! I don't want your creepy ass self staring at me while I sleep!" Katsuki said before the door closed and sighed. "God...is this your way up punishing me? How am I going to concentrate on training for the exams if I have his ass to take care of?"

Katsuki shook his head before going to brush his teeth and wash up before heading to sleep, pointedly ignoring to check on the creature he stuffed in his closet. He would deal with that mess in the morning.

Katsuki decided he should have tried harder to kick the creature out last night as his sleep-ridden eyes glared at the blank face that stared back at him. He slammed the door closed before opening it again, the creature was still there. He groaned before slamming it shut again, hearing his mom complain about the noise.

"Shit…" What do people usually do in these sort of situations? Oh, that's right. MOST PEOPLE DON'T FUCKING END UP IN THESE SITUATIONS! Katsuki slammed his head on the door frame as his mom shouted, "Seriously! Is there something fucking wrong Katsuki?!" He yelled back with a resounding, "NO!" Yes, there was in fact something wrong but he wasn't about to say what.

Izu- The creature , stared back at him with a smile and said, "Food! Hungry! Follow! Happy!" Katsuki groaned. "God, death has only made you more annoying Deku!" The nickname slipped out of his mouth again without him meaning to say it. It was strange, making such commentary about the creature and his friend like that.

After all, this thing wasn't his fri- Izuku . He wasn't Izuku. Izuku was dead. Katsuki clenched his fists tightly as the creature stared at him before a spark of something passed through its one eye, the other remaining blank as ever. "Kacchan!" Katsuki snapped his head up so fast he may have pulled a muscle.

He had to make sure his ears heard correctly. "Sa-Say that again? What did you just fucking say?..." He whispered as his chest tightened. "Kacchan! Food! Hungry! Happy! Stay! Stay with Kacchan!" It repeated as it finally said a sentence that wasn't one word. Katsuki felt a hysterical laughter build up in his gut and threaten to burst out of his chest.

His eyes began to tear up as he ran a hand through his hair in frustration. He wanted to deny it, but everything about the creature had been glaringly obvious that it-It was-No, it used to be Izuku. Katsuki looked at it- Izuku with pained eyes as he asked. "Wh-What happened? If...If this really is your body what the fuck happened Deku? Who the fuck messed with your stupid ass corpse and wouldn't let you rest?"

His dad spoke up next as a knock came from his still locked door. "Uh, hey kiddo. It's almost time for school, who are you talking to in there?" Katsuki shook his head before shoving the- Izuku back into his closet.

"We-We're going to talk about this later ok? I...I'm going to try and make things better this time around dek- Izuku . Even if you are some weird ass monster now...I guess things wouldn't have turned out this way if-" Katsuki cut off there before shaking his head again. Izuku stared up at him with his still wide eyes before asking, "Food? Hungry. Stay. Kacchan Stay?"

Katsuki smirked before ruffling the strangely soft hair on his head. 'Weird, shouldn't corpses have coarse hair or something?' He thought before telling Izuku. "No, I have to go to school dumbass, I'll be back later though. Can you stay here for me? Don't leave the closet ok? I'll bring you food later." Izuku seemed to be upset but agreed as he sat obediently in the closet and wrapped himself in Katsuki's clothes.

"Coming dad! Just uh-give me a second!" Katsuki called out before his dad could worry and looked for something in his room. After a moment he finally found the granola bars he bought a couple weeks back. Throwing them to Izuku who let the bars hit him since his joints didn't move that fast, Katsuki said, "I know they're pretty shit substitutes for food, but they should keep you ok until I get home. If...If you can't wait just hop out the fucking window and find your own goddamn food ok?"

Izuku smiled again as he finally grabbed a granola bar and stuffed the whole thing in his mouth. Wrapper and all. Katsuki blinked before sprinting over to pull it out of his mouth. "No you dumbass! Did you forget you have to peel the wrapper off first? Jesus!" It was definitely gross to feel the saliva on the plastic wrapper, but Katsuki ignored that as he peeled it open and stuffed one end back in Izuku's mouth.

He sighed, "Look, just-just fucking behave until I get home ok?" He said before closing the door, Izuku's eyes never blinking as they watched him leave. His dad looked a bit concerned until Katsuki came out in his uniform, ready to go. "I thought something happened in there Katsuki! But I guess it's just a part of a healthy, growing, young man huh?" Katsuki felt his face go red with embarrassment and anger at the accusation.

"FUCK OFF GEEZER! THAT'S NOT WHY I DIDN'T COME OUT!" He yelled as his father laughed at finally being able to tease his hot-headed son. Katsuki gave his room one last look before heading out the door.

'Izuku's dumbass better not get in trouble while I'm out.' Katsuki thought as he wondered what to feed the monster boy tonight.
