WARNING: Major spoilers for season 9 in general, but especially for 9x09 "Holy Terror".
Author's Note: I found this tiny thing while cleaning folders out on my laptop, and figured I'd post it. It takes place during 9x09 "Holy Terror".

"Don't worry about Dean. Dean will be fine."
It's those words which make Kevin suddenly realize the man speaking to him is not actually Sam.
Because Kevin hasn't been around the Winchesters as long as some of their friends have been, yet he's definitely been around long enough to know that Dean is always the one Sam thinks they should be worried about, just like Dean perpetually worries about Sam.
It didn't take much time for the young prophet to figure out that cornerstone of the brothers' dysfunctionally functional relationship.
But whoever is inching closer to Kevin now doesn't seem the least bit concerned that Dean has been acting strangely, and since Sam is never this detached from the topic of his sibling, Kevin concludes that whoever this is, it cannot be Sam.
In fact, whoever this is seems so devoid of anything now but a cold and calculating focus that it puts the teenager on double red alert.
Alarm bells begin to sound off in his head as the man who absolutely isn't Sam moves steadily closer.
Kevin backs away slightly, mentally preparing himself for the confrontation he can feel approaching; tension crackles in the air like the buzz before a lightning strike.
If he had known how accurate that simile would turn out to be, he might have laughed.
He never even gets the chance.
As everything burns away in a single moment, Kevin's final thought is that he's worried about both Winchesters now.
