(*been watching Cuphead stuff* I love DevilDice ship. Who's up for random DevilDice series!?)
The Devil groaned in pain as he replaced the bandage on his broken horn. His tail in a sling as well as his arm. He huffed smoke from his cigar while leaning on the table, grumbling.
His right-hand man, King Dice, was sitting alone in the end of the casino. He was in pain, but his heart hurt the most. 'good for nothing lacky', the words repeated in his sore mind over and over. He felt used, worthless. King Dice thought the Devil might've cared at least a little bit for him, after all he does for the fluffy demon. King Dice felt tears well up in his eyes, he collapsed onto the hard floor and sobbed.
The Devil's ear twitched when he heard a sob, he stood up painfully and limped to the back of the casino. Devil saw King Dice curled in the corner.
"What are you doing?" Devil snapped, King Dice looked up. His eyes spilled hurt and betrayal.
"Go away!" He shouted, Devil gave a hard stare.
"Don't you speak to your boss like that!"
"Why!? I mean nothing to you! You called me a good for nothing lacky! After everything I've done!" King Dice got up and ran, the Devil stared in shock, King Dice has never snapped at him like that.
King Dice slammed the door of his room shut and flopped onto his bed, crying. He felt his heart being to tear, like someone's hand was inside his chest and clawing at his aching heart. He didn't bother taking his suit off, he just let the tears roll down his square face, he hugged the pillow tight, needing at least some comfort.
(past)
The Devil was slumped over his throne, he had spent the entire day hiding how upset he was about being casted out of heaven. He was lonely, painfully lonely. Though through the past three years he's ruled over hell with servants at his will, he always felt alone. The Devil got up and went to earth into Inkwell Isles. He was wearing a cloak to hide his identity and stumbled across as casino. Curious he went inside. The casino was rather… empty. The Devil looked at the customers and gamblers that were there and sat by the bar. The Devil let out a sigh, then a male figure went up to him.
"Were you looking for a drink sir?" The Devil looked up, he saw the barman.
"Who are you?" he asked.
"I'm Mr Dice. The owner" Mr Dice said, with a giant grin.
"A dice for a head, how original. Not much business going on here?"
"Eh, normally not 'ere. I'd love to get some proper business but it ain't happening by the looks for it." The Devil grinned, an idea popped into his head.
"I have an idea, an offer let's say, to get your business flourishing." Mr Dice stared at the stranger, should he listen? Well he's not making much money this way, so it couldn't hurt to try.
"I'm listening." The Devil grinned, then removed the hood of his cloak, Mr Dice's eyes widened.
"If you devote your sole to me, become my servant. I'll make this casino the highlight of this town." Mr Dice thought about it, he had no friends or family, so the offer didn't seem too bad. The Devil waited.
"Deal." Mr Dice finally said. The Devil's smile widened as with a snap of his finger, Mr Dice had a fancy new purple suit and the casino was like new. Mr Dice was stunned.
"And, you will now be my right-hand man. King Dice." King Dice had a grin of pride. The Devil walked to what was now his office and sat down with a satisfied sigh.
(present)
King Dice started to wish he never took the offer, after that day he worked his butt off to please the Devil… and he thought he appreciated it.
"I'm such a fool…" he whimpered.
(how'd I do for my first cuphead fanfic? Eh? Anyone?)
