Caring, motherly hands ruffled their hair. Neither flinched. In all honesty, they never flinched.

"My little angels are all grown up! Now, remember what Mummy told you. No matter what, you should follow your heart. Regardless of what you believe is right," the woman then lowered her voice to a whisper, "you will do whatever it takes to achieve your goal." Her voice sprang back into anhappy and joyful tone, "However, don't get caught doing anything cheeky! Unfortunately, Mummy can't protect you from everything... But make sure not to let the people that really matter find out, okay? Mummy will support you, no matter what you decide. Just don't tell Daddy!" She added with a wink.

"Ayano? Are they going now?" A male voice called from another room.

"They are, my love. You will come and see them off, won't you?"

As if her husband could say no.

A tall man with dark eyes and hair entered the room. He gazed worriedly towards the twins. It was their first day of high school. Their mother had assured him that their condition was normal and not to be worried about, but as a father he had his doubts...

Taro's two children, a silent but beautiful girl, and an equally silent but strong boy. The two had been fairly silent since the day they were born. Neither cared for anything. Neither cried when their grandfather died. Neither cried when the class pet died. Neither smiled when it was their birthday. Neither stayed up all night on Christmas Eve. Neither had ever truly shown any signs of emotion.

The doctors assured him that it was no risk to their health, but he often wondered what the point was in being healthy if you weren't fully alive. But his wife had assured him also. Assured him that they would one day find happiness and there was nothing to worry about. And no one, even Taro himself, would dare to question Ayano Aishi. Not if they wanted to live.
