Chapter 24: The Aesir Lords Part 2

"I activate the magic card: Synchron Recycle! I banish one magic card from a deck. On the next turn, I can add it to my hand!" Yu yells out before activating the second set card. "Next. I activate the Trap Card: Synchro Level Replication! If I control two Synchro Monsters with different levels, I can make them a level lower than the highest leveled monster on my field. That belongs to Stardust Dragon. So both Synchron Lords become Level 7! Finally! I Overlay both of my Synchron Lords!"

'He kept those monsters in check because he knew that Satelite Lord would be destroyed. Matthew was planning for his next move…' Tyler thinks to himself. Roget simply looks over at the duel with interest through the lens of the cameraman.

"Dragon born from pitch-black darkness and obscured by the radiance of the stars! Become the avatar of wrath and let your furious cry resonate across the cosmos!" Yu chants before the extra deck open up with the Overlay Network exploding with a burst of energy! "Xyz Summon! Manifest, Rank 7! Dark Anthelion Dragon! (Rank 7, 3000 Atk)"

"Again with your obscure summoning methods! However, it won't help you! I activate Thor's effect! I negate your Xyz Monster's effect for the rest of this turn!" Tyler yells out.

"How about no? I activate the quick-play magic: Tuner Retrieval! By sending cards from my deck up to the monsters level, I can add a Tuner from my deck! I send one card from my deck to the graveyard to search the Level 1 Effect Veiler from my deck and add it to my hand! And by sending this monster to the graveyard, I can negate your monster's effect for the rest of the turn!"

"Damn your shrewd tricks…" Tyler grunts in irritation.

"Dark Anthelion Dragon's monster effect! I use one Overlay Unit to cut Thor's attack in half while Dark Anthelion gains that half until the End Phase. I also gain the same amount in Life Points! Absorb Eclipse" Dark Anthelion Dragon smashes one Overlay Unit before grabbing Thor with its claws, draining the God. (3500 → 1750 Atk) (3000 → 4750 Atk)

Yu - LP 2300 → 4050

"With that, Yu's Life Points is once again higher than when he originally started. He definitely knows how to play cautiously!" Melissa cheers with the people in the audience, being mostly rich people from the Tops cheered at the show with their glamorous champagne.

"Battle! Stardust Dragon attacks Polar God-King: Thor! Shooting Sonic!" Stardust Dragon flies into the sky before shooting a pure white beam, engulfing Thor in a massive explosion.

Tyler - LP 3500 → 2750

"Secondly! Dark Anthelion Dragon attacks Polar God-King Loki! Dawn of the Dark!" Dark Anthelion Dragon flies straight into the air before shooting multiple beams at Loki before shooting one final blast from its mouth.

Tyler - 2750 → 1300

"I end my turn. At this time, Dark Anthelion Dragon's attack returns to normal. (4750 → 3000 Atk)" Matthew says with a sigh. "Now your God revives, correct?"

"Right. Thor's revival effect! You lose 800 Life Points!" Thor sends out a shock, coursing through Yu's body making him topple with his driving.

"These shocks… They actually feel real!" Yu says before something feels painful inside him. It felt like something is rushing through his mouth. He's been feeling this pain ever since the first shock from Thor. He couldn't hold it back as he coughed it out. 'Blood?!'

"Oioi! Keep it together! Is there something wrong with the shocks?!" Melissa exclaims as everyone looks through. "Should the duel be delayed?!"

"If you delay this duel, you will never find out what happens to Avery. You'll tough it out, won't you?" The monitor states as it lights up in front of Yu. He just clenches his teeth before slowly nodding to Roget. "Good. Continue the duel."

Yu - 4050 → 3250

"The bastard… Who the hell does he think he is?" Misaki looks at the monitor with irritation.

"He failed to turn Yu into his own weapon. So he's getting rid of anyone that can truly oppose him." Yuto looked extremely irritated from the fact.

"This bastard is playing extremely dirty." Rio clenches her fist.

"Loki's revival effect! I add the trap card: Apple of Frigg back to my hand!" Tyler draws his card before setting a card. "I will activate the magic card: Future Synchro! I half my life and banish materials from my deck. I can Synchro Summon a monster from my Extra Deck. However, their effect are negated this turn and I can't attack with Synchro Monsters this turn! I banish Valkyrie of the Nordic Alfar, Garmr of the Nordic Beasts, and Polar Star Spirit, Alviss!"

"A third Nordic God is appearing?!" Yu questions as he looks up into the sky. The sky is surrounded by dark clouds.

"The all-seeing and all-powerful king who rules the heavens of the North Star. Now, show your might that reigns over the Gods of Asgard! Synchro Summon! Rule over the gods of heaven and earth! The highest god, Polar God Sacred Emperor Odin! (Lv 10, 4000 Atk)" The clouds separate as a massive deity slowly descends.

"Polar God Sacred Emperor Odin…" Avery whispers to herself as she looks at it.

"However, even with that much attack strength! You cannot attack this turn due to the cost of Future Synchro!"

"Fool. You think I didn't predict this kind of predicament! I activate a magic card from my hand. This card… will leave you to your doom. Fusion!" This sends a shock to all those who were watching this take place. "The summoning conditions for this monster requires that I destroy Asgard. Now! I fuse Loki, Thor, and Odin!"

"A fusion of all three gods?!" Everyone exclaimed.

Tyler chants as his whole body glow in light. Almost instantly, a massive amount of fire seems the surround the sky. "Sun warp moons companion. The right hand around th heavens rim. Sun and moon knew not what power he possessed. Burn across the stars and fulfill your prophecy! Fusion Summon! Manifest and incinerate everything! Destroyer of Heaven, Surtr! (Lv 12, 8,000 Atk)"

"8,000 attack?! What kind of card is that?!" Avery exclaims from watching the footage.

"This is what I call, the ultimate power from combining two summoning methods," Roget says with a smile. "Yes. Now destroy Yu at once!"

"Surtr cannot be destroyed by battle and card effects. And it possesses the effects of the three gods used to Fusion Summon this card! Whenever I declare an attack with this card, I must pay 500 Life Points. Battle! Destroyer of Heaven, Surtr! Attack Stardust Dragon!"

Tyler - 1300 → 800

"Reverse Card Open! Scrap-Iron Scarecrow! I can negate your monsters at-"

"Your explanation is only delaying. Surtr possesses Loki's effect in battle! Your trap card is negated and destroyed!" The card is shattered right in front of Yu.

"Not good enough! I activate the effect of a trap card in my graveyard! Synchron Recycle! I change the attack target from a Synchro monster towards another monster that I control. The attack shifts over to Dark Anthelion Dragon, and it gains 1000 attack! (3000 → 4000 Atk)"

"Crush him!" Tyler yells out when suddenly, his arm starts to catch on fire. "What?"

"Oioioi! Hold up! What the hell is going on out there?!" The sight was even catching the attention of the audience members in a terrified expression.

"That card…" Surtr crushes Dark Anthelion Dragon in a fiery inferno so close to Yu that he starts catching on fire as well. He yells out in pain as he starts losing control over his D-Wheel. Almost from the pain itself, Tyler slowly starts coming back to his senses as he also starts losing control and they both crash with both duelists falling off their D-Wheels. A flame pillar surrounds both of them so much that it reaches the sky.

Yu - 4050 → 1050

"Hey! Stop the duel! What got a massive crash in here!"

Yu coughs out blood after opening his eyes in what seemed like forever. He slowly looks up to see Tyler also sitting up, yelling in pain from all the heat. It was unbearable. With each passing moment, it became even harder to breathe.

"T-Tyler…" Yu tries to slowly walk over to Tyler.

"Stay back! It's even hotter over here!" Tyler yells putting an immediate halt to where Yu was standing. In fact, Yu couldn't even stand for much longer anyways as he falls onto the ground. "Roget… He thought he could kill you like this. This card… It has the power to go beyond the system."

"T-Then what do we do?" Yu grunts.

"Complete the duel. Only way we're getting this to stop is with the duel's completion… Roget rigged the system that way." Tyler grunts in pain. "You only have… One turn. If you fail, we both take 1000 points of damage at the end of your next turn."

"I… can barely move. M-Much less. Duel. You're expecting too much from me."

"So you're just going to give up?! I thought that you Lancers were supposed to have a goal. To save the dimensions from Fusion." Yu took notice to the last part. "I was aware of what I was doing. I apologize. Now… You have a job as the strongest duelist on your side. So stand up. Grit your teeth. And win dammit!"

Yu's pendant started to shine rather brightly. But in the intense heat, no one could tell. The inner demon inside Yu seemed to bolt open. Not overtaking him this time, but rather. Helping him getting out of this predicament. A massive rush of adrenaline pumped into him. He was so caught up, he just had one goal in mind.

"My turn! Draw!" Yu looks at the card in his hand. He had little time, but he knew what to do. "Synchron Recycle effect. I add the banished card back to my hand. Pendulum Summon! Appear Nitro! Magic Card: Double Ripple. I can use these two monsters I control to Synchro Summon! Appear! Nirvana High Paladin… and Shooting Star Dragon! (Level 10, 3300 Atk) Magic card: Reluctant Synchro! I destroy Nirvana High Paladin to add monsters from my deck up to the level of it. Nirvana High Paladin's effect. I destroy monsters in my Pendulum Zone to place it in there. Nirvana High Paladin's Pendulum effect. I target Shooting Star Dragon! Surtr's attack is lowered with each attack. Shooting Star Dragon effect. I look at the top five cards in my deck. If there are any tuners, it can attack that many times! There's 3. So three times! Battle! Shooting Star Magician! Attack Surtr! Stardust Mirage!" (8000 → 5700 → 2400)

Tyler - LP 800 → 0

"That's it… It's all over." Yu falls to the floor, unconscious as the final strike blowed away all flames that surrounded them. Soon after, there are medical officers taking the two in for medical service.

Wassup my homies! This is NexusMHX here with another episode of The Human. I know what you're thinking. First of all, Nirvana High Paladin's effect doesn't work like that. I realized that but I wanted to incorporate that system with Shooting Star Dragon. It just seemed so clever to me when I first thought of that. Anyways, there will be a bigger chapter in the future. Sorry for those who waited and only got a mini chapter like this. I'm on a time crunch and I don't know exactly the next time that I'm going to be able to post a chapter of any fanfic. Especially with all the school work that is piling on me after everything closed down rip. Anyways, this is NexusMHX here signing off!
