Wow this is it. The final chapter of the story.
Question of the chapter: did you have a good Christmas?
I did, the 12 people came round and we had an amazing Christmas dinner. It was also my brother's birthday on Christmas then my Nan's two days later (my bank account has broke this month but it is worth it). For Christmas I got a lot of Disney items and a cat hoodie with cat ears on the hood. My favourite gifts, the top two, is a crepe making machine (courtesy of my Aunt) and an APCKEY25 (look it up it is hard to explain) which is a type of musical instrument for digital song production! I adore Christmas, as it brings families close and I do genuinely love getting people presents.
I do hope you guys enjoyed this Christmas as much as I did.
Oh and, FOR GOD'S SAKE GIVE THE UK SEASON 4 OF GAVIN AND STACEY
^I think that will only a few, if any, will get that...
Nearly 5,000 words but it felt wrong to cut it at any point. My writing was flowing so I thought that dividing it in half would be wrong. Also, who doesn't love a story that ends with a long finale full of action, drama and romance?
I will keep this bit short because in the end there will be a very long thank you that will get very emotional.
For the final time, enjoy.
Despite the fact they all outnumbered him, Punisher was weakening the class of Akumas that were attacking him. Every time he knocked one to the ground, he would release a menacing laugh. This laugh would grow as their powers left them, leaving a vulnerable teen scrambling to safety. Those that were still in hero form stood a great distance away from him, waiting for the villain's next sinister move.
"Come on cowards!" Punisher hissed, his great big hands forming fists that were slowly turning red," I'm just itching to play,"
He was trifling with the cane that rested in her hands. Out of the corner in his eye, he spotted one hero ready to pounce, his eyes darted in their direction and focused on them. With one big lunge he jumped forward, grabbing the hero and throwing them into the wall of the Agreste mansion.
Crack!
All the other Akuma heroes looked in horror as a threatening crack echoed in their ears. White mist rose off of the body of the victim. There, now crumpling the pristine grass and dying it red, was Alya.
No longer was she Rena Rouge, her disguise had fallen. Now she lay like a broken ragdoll, blinking with her breathing shallow. Her legs were bent in opposing directions as her voice rattled with a deathly scream.
On top of a building nearby, Carapace felt himself shake with rage. The sight of his girlfriend shattered on the ground made him growl possessively. He had hidden Anna deep inside an apartment building, so now he was ready to fight.
"You monster!" Carapace exclaimed, he dived straight towards Punisher with his shield for a weapon in his hands.
When Carapace was close enough, he flung the shield like a Frisbee into Punisher's face. The speed of the throw combined with his strength, caused Punisher to fly backwards and land on the ground. As quick as a flash, Carapace dodged any resilience as Punisher landed on the ground.
"Wool Blanc, take Alya out of here and get her some help," Carapace ordered, he was stood on the gravel waiting for Punisher to get up.
Nodding, Wool Blanc (the akumatised Juleka) lifted Alya up as gently as she could. The girl held back sobs as the pain radiated through her body. However, the pain didn't match her frustration as she wished to be able to join back in the fight. Eventually, the pain crept up her body so much she passed out.
Punisher suddenly rose up, his form seemed larger and more domineering than before.
Carapace gulped, looking at his struggling comrades who could barely stand up, he only wished that Ladybug and Chat Noir would arrive soon.

After briefly brainstorming, Marinette and Adrien realised the quickest place to get food would be the bakery. At first, the ravenette felt hesitant but the whole fate of Paris depended on the two of them. Without her, nothing could be restored and the akuma couldn't be de-evilised. They had no time to go anywhere else, Punisher was likely getting stronger by the second.
Breaking into the desolate bakery was easy, the door had broken a few years back so it only took a light shove to open it. Inside, dust resided on everything.
"This seems for homely than ever," Mari laughed lightly, tracing her fingers along the cupboards. Her eyes rested on the knives sprawled across the kitchen.
Adrien followed her, his confusion did too," Why is it more home-like?"
Stopping, Marinette sighed," It was always safer in the dark. And he isn't here,"
Adrien felt his mouth had been glued shut. He had grown up in a life of luxury whilst Marinette had likely spent it being fearful and keeping herself hidden. The way she would pause in certain areas and flinch heightened his worry. She didn't want him to see her pain but he could view her hurt seeping through her.
"Where are the pastries?" Adrien questioned, he tried to bring her out of her daze.
Marinette opened the fridge, her eyes settling on some old brownies. They would be out of date but that probably wouldn't really effect a kwami. There was also some old cheese, its stench was running through the place like a wildfire.
As soon as the smell reached him, Plagg sped out of Adrien's pocket and to the fridge. Marinette jumped at the sudden appearance of the kwami however she soon laughed at his excitement to the cheese.
"Please let me have the cheese!" Plagg begged, it was strange to see a god of destruction so desperate for some out of date cheese," Blondie never lets me keep it this long. It has to be eaten quickly so the smell doesn't infect his room,"
Rolling his eyes, Adrien stormed over and flicked Plagg's nose. The little kwami flew backwards, his arms folded. Before the two had a heated argument, Marinette gave Plagg a small slice of cheese. She grabbed the stale brownie and slammed the fridge shut.
Tikki sat on the counter, looking deflated," I guess I will have to hold my nose,"
Doing so, Tikki took a large bite of the brownie. The kwami fought the urge to gag as she ate the horrid food. Soon the bite was gone, she had another two bites until she felt her energy regain.
"What about Nooroo?" Adrien asked, the little pale purple kwami was sat on his shoulder watching the scene unfold.
"Oh I am sorry!" Mari exclaimed, looking Nooroo in the eyes," You will have to deal with the other half of the brownie I am afraid.
Nooroo seemed grateful as he finished the brownie without fuss," Tom used to feed me banana peels if I was lucky. You two are much better masters!"
Smiling, Marinette felt a deep connection to Nooroo. Both of them had suffered at the hands of Tom. If Nooroo could be rescued from the villain's darkness, then she could be too.
"We haven't got much time," Mari declared, grabbing Adrien's hand," We need to get out of here and back to help the others,"
Both of them called on their transformations- Adrien using the moth miraculous again. They both left the bakery and headed into the quiet streets of Paris. No one dared to leave their homes as Punisher was plastered on every news and TV channel.
It was less than five minutes when they reached the Agreste mansion. Destruction lingered around the site, most of the akumatised heroes had been driven out or were hidden with agonising injuries. Those that remained were weak but still fighting for the safety of Paris.
"I will use my Lucky Charm now," Ladybug told Chat, if I wait any longer it may be a case of too little too late,"
The leathered hero nodded, jumping into battle whilst his Lady pulled out her yo-yo," Lucky Charm!"
Ladybug watched the small red bugs circling round until an object formed in the middle of their sphere. The hero held out her hands and waited for a large object, anything that could help. Instead a small flimsy piece of paper landed in her palms. She had to grip it tight or it would have been lost forever to the wind.
Opening the folded paper, Ladybug was (suffice to say) perplexed. The item the universe thought was most powerful against Punisher was nothing more than a simple address. Biting her tongue so she wouldn't curse the heavens, the hero watched as her Chaton fought the biggest demon in her life.
"Chat!" Ladybug shouted," I have to go somewhere. Hold up the fort here!"
The hero only had a moment to nod before he was knocked off of his feet. Jumping back, Chat decided to use the moth miraculous once more. He called upon a new set of heroes- even regenerating some of the others. Copycat, Gigantuan and even Mr Pidgeon showed up to support their heroes.
At least this time they weren't trying to get the Ladybug and Chat Noir miraculous.
Meanwhile, Ladybug was racing through Paris. She only had five minutes to get to the address on the note. Her yo-yo offered a kind of sat-nav to the location. Of course, the location couldn't just be down the road. No, it was the other side of Paris.
Eventually, the black spotted heroine landed in front of the door of a relatively clean terraced house. Flowers bloomed in pots on the window sills and the door was painted a pretty green colour that was accented by a white frame. The house itself was only two floors high and made of fresh orange bricks. It looked like a dream cottage, almost peaceful in the conflicting city.
The last beep on her miraculous chimed. Marinette now stood in front of the pretty house. Why did she feel nervous to knock on the door?
Stepping closer, her fingers bent slightly, she knocked on the door with the backs of her knuckles. Silence descended as she waited for any response from the inside. Her eyes tried to look through the drawn curtains but they blocked all view of the inside. Her guess was that the lights weren't on at all.
Click!
Marinette snapped her head back to the door. Slowly, it creaked open to reveal a very familiar small figure.
Her breath hitched in her throat. She took a step backwards. Marinette clutched her chest as she gazed into the eyes of a ghost. The same eyes that now stared back at Mari as if she was the alien in this situation.
"Marinette?" Her voice wheezed, it was strange to hear her voice. She had always been so muted throughout Marinette's horrid childhood.
Sighing, the girl swallowed her pride- she had a job to do," I need your help Mothe- no Sabine. Paris needs you Sabine,"
Wrinkles formed in the older woman's forehead. Sabine gestured for her daughter to come inside her home. The pair walked in an uncomfortable silence to the kitchen. Just like the outside, it was gorgeous with green and white cabinets. Marinette shook herself out of her musings, now wasn't the time to appreciate fine décor.
Sabine leaned against a counter, the furthest one away from her daughter. In the months she had distanced herself from Marinette were the best months of her life. Without Tom in her sad life, Sabine had been able to grow and improve herself. Now, staring at the shell of a daughter she had ignored all of her life, Sabine felt the guilt creeping through her body.
"Why me?" She asked coldly, no use trying to act motherly now- her chance was long gone," Aren't there heroes who are meant to protect Paris and its civillians- including me? I have been hiding since Punisher was announced on the news. I know it's your father-"
"Tom," Marinette interjected," That man deserves no formal title to me,"
The older woman silently agreed, though her mouth never left its stone thin line that had formed when she first opened the door," Now what do you want?"
How could Marinette even begin to explain things? There was no way she could do so without revealing her identity. She mentally apologised to Tikki as a plan formed in her head.
"Can I borrow one of those cookies before I explain?" Mari questioned, trying not to slap herself for sounding so stupid.
Sabine nodded sceptically before handing her daughter the requested item. Opening the pocket in her jacket, Marinette bought Tikki out into view. Her mother gasped- pushing herself further back as she made an attempt to swat the kwami.
"Marinette!" Tikki hissed, looking disapprovingly at the girl.
Rolling her eyes, the teen gave her an imploring look. Soon the kwami realised that this was indeed the only way and accepted her fate. The kwami ate the cookie eagerly- it was much better than a stale brownie.
Whilst this was happening, Sabine observed the scene with wide eyes. Not only had her daughter just reappeared in her life, she had bought a weird talking bug thing with her. The adult woman took deep breaths in an attempt to stop herself from fainting.
"Please pay attention Sabine," Marinette ordered, but not too harshly, the woman nodded and tried to compose herself," Tikki, Spots on!"
Around Marinette, the familiar and comforting red ladybugs wrapped around all of her body. In their wake, they left the striking red suit that grew alongside her confidence. When the mask came over her face, no longer was she wary of her mother- her mother was now in awe of her.
Sabine's arms dropped to her sides as her mouth remained agape. Witnessing the transformation had been a wake up call, she had shrouded her daughter with horror- reducing her potential.
Ladybug was her daughter- her daughter was the hero of Paris.
There was no way Sabine could get Marinette to forgive her for the horrible things she put her through. At least by doing the one thing Ladybug asked of her, she will still have some dignity.
"I'll do it," Sabine responded when the transformation was over," I will help you save Paris,"
-8-
Admittedly, Ladybug still had no clue how Sabine could help to save Paris. However, one idea that remained in her mind was the fact that Sabine was the only love Tom had in the world. When the woman left him, the man was distraught. Marinette knew all too well the full force of his sorrows.
Sabine was clinging onto the heroine's back as Ladybug jumped from building to building. Sounds of destruction came closer and closer.
The fight between the heroes and Punisher had moved from the Agreste mansion to the Eiffel tower. Its move had been marked by a path of fallen buildings, screaming people and crashed cars. Several of the akuma heroes were helping civilians to get to safety whilst the stronger and more abled ones joined Chat in the fight against Punisher.
Ladybug landed on the cold concreate that surrounded the precious monument, there was no hesitation as she walked towards Punisher with Sabine still on her shoulders. The woman shook in fear as the hero guided her towards what had been the biggest danger in her life.
The hero still had no idea how Sabine would help the situation. She looked behind her at Sabine, the woman lit up with ladybugs as objects would for her other lucky charms, and then to Punisher where the same happened.
"Walk to him," Ladybug commanded sternly, putting Sabine on the ground," I'll be right behind you if he tries to hurt you,"
Despite her fears, Sabine walked without trembling to her husband. As soon as Punisher laid eyes on her, he stopped fighting. The akuma heroes paused too, looking at Ladybug. The hero simply held up her hand as a sign to pause. They all obliged but still watched warily.
"What are you doing Tom?" Sabine asked, her confidence growing as she edged closer.
Punisher looked to the ground like a child who had been told off," I did this for us. Once I get the miraculous I can erase the day our daughter was born. We can live happily, together. She was the one who ruined our relationship,"
Sabine paused, she knew that this wasn't true. The monster in front of her ruined everything with his vile actions and justifications. Removing the day from history won't change anything, the pair would still grow apart. However, for the sake of Paris Sabine needed him to believe that she was on his side.
"That is a wonderful idea sweetheart!" She proclaimed, giving Chat Noir a reassuring look as he suddenly prepared to pounce. The hero relaxed as he realised she was acting," Why don't you give me your akumatised object so you can fight better?"
Punisher nodded, all of his cunning seemed washed away by the sight of Sabine. Without a second thought, he reached into a pocket and handed her a photo. The woman gasped as she realised it was their wedding photo. Tears pricked in her eyes as she turned around and ran towards Ladybug. She felt like she was committing the biggest betrayal ever but if it meant that her past could leave her it was for the better.
As she handed the photo to a stunned Ladybug, she felt all of her past grudges leave her. Sabine offered Marinette the most motherly smile she ever had before she was knocked off of her feet by a seething Tom.
"You damn wench!" Punisher screeched, lunging for her again.
Ladybug didn't bother to look at the photo, she had seen it before. Staring defiantly at Punisher, she ripped the thing in two. Out of the rip, a deep dark purple moth flew.
Punisher growled, his hands suddenly forming a gloomy black orb.
Chat dived towards Ladybug as she tried to purify the Akuma. As the pair gripped each other, Punisher's dark orb hit the ground.
Ear-numbing explosions vibrated through Paris. Everything turned upside down as bomb-like orbs detonated the ground and buildings. People became trapped under rubble, screams were head as the Seine rushed over Paris like a tsunami and the Eiffel Tower broke in half- crashing onto the floor.
Ladybug used her yo-yo to cling onto a lamppost that was miraculously still standing. She propelled her and Chat out of the way just in time as the point of the Eiffel Tower nearly crushed them.
Water continued to rise as people turned to stone- including Punisher himself.
Any buildings left standing were now submerged as if France was one big ocean and Paris was its secret Atlanta city.
But here there were no mermaids, just the frozen faces of petrified men; women; children…
The only two that seemed to be left standing were Ladybug and Chat Noir. They both shook, mourning the loss of everything they ever knew- on top of a floating car. Alya, Nino, Anna and even Gabriel- the pair had lost those they considered family.
"It's gone," Chat mumbled, holding his head in his hands.
Ladybug hugged him from behind, easing his tears.
"Lucky Charm!" She shouted, desperate for some kind of helpful tool this time.
Beaming, Ladybug's face lit up as the book landed in her awaiting hands. Sabine had helped, but Ladybug had more faith in the magic of this book.
Eagerly, she flicked through the ancient pages. Her ladybugs lit up one particular page. However, her heart dropped to her stomach as she read the spell.
The page on the book read: if one is willing to sacrifice their biggest love- then a whole city or even the world could be saved. However, this spell is not to be taken lightly as the effects are irreversible…
As she continued to read the page, Ladybug's grip on the book tightened. Tears left her eyes. Her legs felt wobbly. In her mind was the ultimate question, she knew who her biggest love was- he was the only one left standing with her: Chat.
What should she do? Save Paris or Chat?
"Chat," Ladybug muttered hopelessly," I can save Paris but it will mean that you will die!"
The cat-hero looked at he with fear. Not only had he just lost everything, he might even loose himself. The question pondered his mind, but the answer to him was obvious.
"Why haven't you saved Paris already?" Chat questioned, with a forced grin," My princess. You are the light of my life. If I must die so you can live happily then so be it. Look around us. This isn't a decent life for anyone now is it? We are in a wasteland. Both of us will die here,"
Eyebrows furrowed, Ladybug glared at him," But without you there is no point to me living. I cannot go on without you. Chaton you saved me,"
Tears fell down both of their cheeks as Chat tenderly kissed his lover's forehead," But you could never forgive yourself for letting Paris die, could you?"
Sighing, Ladybug kissed Chat passionately. If this was to be the last kiss, then so be it. They shared one precious moment together before the most agonising moment of their lives.
Both heroes detransformed, kissing again in their normal forms. Adrien played with Mari's short hair, he noted how he loved the shorter style on her. Maybe in the afterlife he could see it longer- when they meet again he can have a proper uninterrupted relationship with her.
"In another life," Adrien began, looking at her intently with his vibrant green orbs- he imagined a world where Marinette got to have a normal childhood," We would have met just like we did. Except I would have made a fool of myself for being head over heels with you. You would have ignored me until you finally gave up and offered me a date to shut me up. Only you wouldn't anticipate falling for such a handsome man,"
Marinette laughed, playfully hitting him," Oh really?"
"Yes really!" Chat beamed, the moment almost seemed normal," Eventually I would have asked you to marry me, in the cheesiest way possible. You would have been the prettiest girl in the world. Well, not that you aren't every day that is. But on our wedding day you would have been a true princess. Then guess what would come next?"
"What?"
"Our children," Adrien teased, making Marinette blush," We would have three children. I have always hoped for two boys and a little girl- that way you can be queen and she can be the princess who the knights, me and our sons, must protect. I don't know their names but they would be perfect,"
"Emma for a girl, Emma Anna Agreste," Marinette contributed, Adrien smiled happily and kissed her," Hugo would be one of our little princes,"
"And the other would be Louis- it was the name of my great grandfather," Adrien added, and Marinette agreed.
Both of them said that they loved each other at the same time. However, the time had come. Chat's end was nearing.
Marinette stood, looking at the full moon that illuminated the destruction around them. She recited the spell. Adrien's vibrant eyes held back tears as the destruction disappeared. Life began to leave his body.
"I love you," Was the last thing he said, with the highest conviction and adoration she had ever heard.
Mari's heart warmed but also broke as everything was restored. People began to help others up, their injuries forgotten. Buildings built themselves back up. Cars forced their dents to be undone.
But, in the middle of the commotion. Adrien lay lifeless.
Marinette ran up to him, allowing the tears she held back to fall. Screaming, she felt her heart run off and leave her. No longer could she breath or even live. A part of her had been taken from this world. The teen pulled his body close and rocked it like he was a fragile doll.
All of the crowd stood in horror, they soon understood that this boy had sacrificed himself. The sound of an ancient French hymn filled Paris as the crowd sang to the heavens.
"In another life," Mari said through gritted teeth," This may be the only life I live, I'll live it for both of us,"
In the distance, Anna gazed at the scene helplessly. She had concealed herself in an alleyway as she tried to conjure a solution to the problem. Someone tapped her with a long walking stick.
"Master Fu," Anna said stoically, she bowed respectfully," My son won't come back to this world I fear,"
The old man looked at the mournful woman, he felt a twinge of guilt for landing the teens in this position to begin with. As he was the guardian of the miraculous, he controlled their fate. Together, they grew to be better people and ultimately save Paris. But, there was always sorrow in victories.
"I want the role of miraculous guardian to go to Marinette," Master Fu stated, he passed a large black box with intricate red patterning to Anna.
"I will give it to her," She responded, but her voice was freezing.
Master Fu hid a smile as he banged his stick on the ground," Now my child, have you forgot. The miraculous guardian gets one wish before they descend. It is simply a reward for years of faith. Though my memories will leave me, my soul will never forget the great deeds our current heroes have achieved,"
Anna's sadness was lifted as she turned back to the scene.
Marinette was still cradling Adrien, her hope had evaporated. With each passing second her new reality dawned on her. It hurt. It hurt more than any punch or bruise Tom had ever given her. It hurt more than a knife against her chest.
Closing her eyes, she tried to imagine their future- the one they had briefly planned. Three children, a nice house- married. Maybe they would even have a dog or cat. Maybe a hamster. Marinette smiled lightly at the thoughts, the kind a normal teenager in love would have.
Then she felt a hand on her cheek.
Snapping her eyelids open, the girl gasped. Albeit weak, Adrien was smiling at her. It took a moment for it to fully sink in.
"I thought you were gone," Mari muttered helplessly, her smile wide.
Adrien too wore a big smile," Maybe the universe has other plans. Can you help me up?"
Mari helped Adrien so he was in a sitting up position. The blonde gestured for her to come closer. Doing so, Marinette felt his lips crash on hers. The pair ignored the crowd as they kissed like it was the last time- the recent events taught them how short life can be.
"So how about those three kids?" Adrien whispered teasingly into Mari's ears.
Blushing, Marinette playfully hit Adrien's chest- not too hard he was still a little fragile. The crowd around them separated as reporters pushed themselves forward- flinging thousands of questions to the pair.
"Were you two some of the akumatised heroes?" A brown bob-haired woman questioned, her dull blue eyes shining at the couple as if they were a front page headline in the making
"Why was it your life that was sacrificed?" A tall man in a long hat said, he looked like a police inspector.
"Has Punisher really been defeated?" A younger reporter said, her hands were shaking terribly.
"Adrien Agreste is this your confirmed girlfriend?" The final question hung in the air.
Seriously? Marinette wondered how someone could come up with such a stupid and pointless question when the world had been seconds away from ending. Though of course, being with the Adrien Agreste would always have some kind of fame attached to it. Paris would forever envy her after all.
Police sirens blared all around them. They were armed SWAT vehicles, with multiple soldiers storming out of the masses of vans. Although they looked threatening, Marinette walked up to them with all the confidence in the world.
"Ladybug and Chat Noir have successfully defeated the akuma Punisher," Mari explained in a serious tone," Not only that but Hawkmoth himself will no longer be an issue. The villain was nothing more than Tom Dupain Cheng- a man on the run for being accused of abusing his daughter,"
As she said this, some civilians who had kept Tom on scene pulled the man to the police. At once, the handcuffs were thrown on his wrists. If he didn't go down for abuse, he sure would for causing the damage as Hawkmoth.
"Can I have a moment?" Mari asked, the police nodded.
Whilst two SWAT members held Tom, Marinette stood tall against his weakening frame," You have dominated me all of my life and look where it got you. It was never my fault, it was yourself who was cursed with bitterness. I hope prison will give you time to reflect whilst I gain my life back. You haven't won, I have,"
With that, Marinette turned on her heels and marched off. She let out a deep breath that she didn't realise she had been holding. Tom's cries of protest could be heard as he was thrown in a police van and driven off.
The police proceeded to move people off of the site. Soon, after everyone had been checked and was found to be okay, it was only Adrien and Marinette left.
"What a journey we have had," Adrien pondered, thinking back to the first day they met.
Marinette laughed, leaning her head on Adrien's shoulder," I was petrified of you. It is strange how much we have both grown. I am no longer afraid- I feel I can trust,"
"My eyes have been opened to the world around me," Adrien responded, kissing the ravenette's forehead," I have learnt there are struggles beyond the walls of the mansion. And that the universe is always full of surprises,"
Holding the blonde's hand, Marinette looked into Adrien's eyes with adoration. She knew where her place was in the world- Tom could no longer weigh her down. It felt like she had been cut free, she was no longer a fish stuck on a hook. Now, Mari had a whole sea she could swim in.
But she only wanted to walk the Earth with one person.
"Adrien," Marinette spoke into the silence of the now peaceful night, her mind was never more sure of anything else," Let's go home, together,"
Following the moonlit path, the pair headed to the Agreste mansion.
Together.
They no longer had to face this world alone.
Wow.
Sorry, wow.
I just can't believe I finally finished this. After months of working out kinks, and an interesting turn this happens. I cannot believe how far I have come as a writer, and the characters themselves.
Thank you.
GOD DAMMIT THANK YOU SO BLINKING MUCH!
You loyal people are the most worthy of a miraculous. You have supported me, stuck by me during hiatus and were loyal to the story. My emotions are getting the best of me as I never thought this story would get his reaction. The undying support is what has got me through writing this, providing motivation by knowing that people want to see this conclude.
I'll tell you how this came to be from the beginning.
I was an avid fan fiction reader, my favourite being the stories from TheNovelist- an amazing miraculous ladybug writer you should check out. However. I always wanted to see an AU where Mari was the one who was abused, as it was mostly Adrien at the time, and how it would change things. But back then, most of my stories were based off of dreams and had been lost.
This one was different. From the get-go people seemed to adore it. Honestly, I though people would hate it because it changed Marinette's personality so much.
But, as with many of my other stories, I began to waver. Things happened in life too that made it difficult to write. I got back into routine but after time away with my school I had lost all motivation. I began to feel like a failure. My fight or flight instinct is to run for the hills.
Then this year I had a brainwave. I wanted to write but I knew I couldn't until I left a good legacy on fanfiction. I needed to finish this story, not just for you loyal people but for myself as well. To be able to make it as an author, my overall dream, I need to be able to finish my goals.
So earlier in the year I began to update, or try to, at least once a month. It was hard getting back into things. Admittedly, I have struggled to keep up with the miraculous ladybug franchise but I am slowly creeping back into it. I haven't watched a lot of season 3 though I am planning on trying to catch up. I have watched the Chat Blanc episode though- it reinstalled my love for the show!
So then I set a goal to finish this story. I planned it out in detail, properly this time. Each chapter I worked hard on, trying to showcase my development. I did push back the end date but now that we are here it has been worth it.
The journey has been long and difficult. But to have this amazing achievement was worth it.
For other writers reading this who think they have a similar situation, just push through it. Eventually, your motivation will come back! Try and write, something will flow out after a little while. Even by reading other stories you set yourself up with inspiration.
Do private message me if you are in a similar situation regarding writer's block- I have some great recommendations on websites that can help!
In regards to my other stories, in 2020 I am taking a hiatus from writing altogether. I have big exams this year so by pulling the weight of more stories I will overwork myself. So, as the exams will effect my future, I am going to step back from the website. However, mark my words, I will be back and better than ever as soon as my last exam is over.
That being said, I am going to publish a story on an app called Dreame as part of their fantasy romance story competition. It will be completely my own work with my own characters and setting. I have already written the prologue but I won't publish until chapter five is written and finished so I can have time to write the next set of chapters. I need to do this now I have finished this story- which already had known characters and a rough backstory. Everything had already been created for me whereas with this project I need to do it myself.
Thank you again for your undying support, you guys are the true heroes. I wouldn't have wanted to go on this journey with any other readers- you guys are perfect and the world is damn lucky to have you!
Thank you, thank you and thank you!
For the final time,
