Alex had no idea how she ended up here. Well she did have an idea. She was drunk at home and lonely. She didn't miss Maggie as much as she used to but Alex had gotten used to having a warm body next to her for the better part of a year. And yes, sleeping with Katie had been such a mistake but she had to admit for the few moments waking up wrapped in someone's arms, it had felt so good.
So now Alex Danvers stood in front of a lesbian club, a little tipsy, looking for a warm body.
Now, the straight Alex Danvers was no stranger to clubs. Before she was recruited for the DEO the eldest Danvers was very well known to the club scene. Now, the new and improved lesbian Alex Danvers had never been to a club like this before.
To say she was overwhelmed was an understatement. Maggie had taken Alex to a couple of lesbian bars while they were together but never a crowded large club.
She decided to stick to the outer part of the club for now, close to the bars, yes, close to the bars was a good idea. She had to smile to herself when she noticed a couple of the club goers checking her out. Alex had opted to wear a tight pair of jeans and a black sleeveless to and of course, her signature leather jacket.
Alex was amazed and impressed by the number of women here. Sure, they probably weren't all lesbians, but there was still a good chunk of the National City female population here.
Alex found a bar stool at the very end of one of the many bars lining the outer wall of the club and took a seat, taking off her jacket.
"It get's a little warm in here because of all the lesbian desperation!" Alex heard and she whipped around to see the bartender in front her. She was beautiful. Tall and long blonde hair that darkened into green halfway. She was wearing an old white wife beater and a short jean skirt.
"Pardon?" Alex asked her.
"It's after midnight on a Friday night. The girls out there are looking for someone to take home." The bartender laughed and Alex laughed with her. "What can I get for you?"
"Oh, umm, a scotch please?"
"Scotch huh? My kind of girl." Alex watched at the hot mystery bartender poured her a healthy double scotch. "First timers first drink is on the house." She said sliding the drink over.
"It's that obvious hey?" Alex bantered back.
"Only to the well-trained eye."
"I'm Alex by the way" She didn't know why she felt compelled to tell this woman her name.
"A to Z! I'm Zoe! You should go dance! Show me your moves!"
After a quick gulp of her liquid courage she smirked at Zoe and went out to the dance floor. She couldn't take her eyes off of Zoe as she danced. Zoe, of course, had gone back to work serving drinks but Alex had caught her checking her out every few minutes.
A young brunette had begun dancing with Alex placing her hands on her hips and gyrating against her. Alex's eyes never left the bartender though as she swayed her hips to the music.
When the song ended Alex looked over to find Zoe the bartender leaning against the bar staring at her too. Zoe reached out her hand and curled her index finger towards Alex, indicating that she wanted her to come back the bar.
"You broke that little wannabe lesbians heart Alex" Zoe said while handing her another drink.
"Oh please."
"Don't you dare sell yourself short. You were sexy as hell out there." Alex began blushing profusely. "Listen, I'm off work in 20 minutes. Do you want to take me home?"
"You're very blunt."
Zoe shrugged. "It's both a blessing and a curse."
