'Thoughts'

(Death City- Death Manor)

Lord Death returned home. Kid filled him in on what happened while he was away. He was once more happy that those monsters had decided to try and enroll the kids into his school. It had given him the opportunity to take Harry away from them. From what he heard about Dudley's past behavior it was good that he took him away as well and sent him to a place that would take care of him as well as punish him when he was bad. The shinigami shook his head to clear himself of those thoughts and entered the room Harry was in.

"Ready for lunch, Harry?" He asked.

"I-i guess." He said.

"Great." He smiled brightly behind his mask.

"I m-made this for you." Harry handed him the picture he made.

Lord Death was stunned by it. It was truly beautiful. It was a room filled with mirrors. Each mirror held a different soul. In the middle of the room was himself. His mask and cloak were on. It really did seem like he was watching over the souls.

"This is beautiful." He said.

"T-thank you." The young weapon blushed.

"Let me put this up then we can go eat." He said.

"Okay." He said, happily.

Death quickly went to his study. He framed it before hanging it on the wall across from his desk. He then returned to Harry. They entered the dining room. Kid, Liz, and Patty were already there.

"Hello father." Kid greeted.

"Lord Death." Liz nodded.

"Hya Lord Death." Patty giggled.

"For lunch I made some grilled cheese sandwiches and tomato soup." The chef said.

The man had been given Harry dietary plans. He had heard the story and decided to make sure that not only were those plans kept too but also that the young teen tried foods he had been denied. So far the kid loved every dish served.

"Can Harry have the grilled cheese?" Kid asked.

"No." His father answered. "He will only be having the soup this time."

"Okay." He nodded as the chef placed a glass of milk down.

"Is that goat's milk?" Death asked.

"Yes sir." He nodded.

"Good." They had found that Harry didn't like the taste of cow's milk.

Harry took a sip and hummed. It tasted so much better than the other milk. The chef smiled at that.

"I'll make sure we keep a jug of goat's milk in the fridge." He said before leaving the room.

They began eating. Harry really enjoyed the soup. None of the Dursley had liked soup so Harry was never made to make it nor was he allowed to eat any. So far he hasn't found a soup he hadn't liked.

"Harry?" Lord Death looked at him.

"Yes?" He asked.

"I had someone look into your family. So far we only found information on your father. His name was James Charlus Potter. He was twenty five when he died. He was a natural born wizard." He informed him.

"Natural born wizard?" He asked in confusion.

"A natural born wizard or witch are those with magic that is energy based and not animal based. Natural borns have an equal amount of witches as they do wizards. They also don't usually kill people for their souls. They hide themselves away. Non magical people don't know about them. They also usually hate animal witches since animal witches like killing them for their souls. Natural borns have very powerful souls that can boost the power of an animal witch." He explained.

"Oh." That explained why he never heard of them.

"We will find a natural born that I trust to help train you." He said.

"O-okay." It was still odd that using magic wasn't going to automatically punish him.

"Hopefully soon we can find some information about your mother." Death said.

"Okay." It was nice hearing about one of his parents at least.

"Dr. Brooks has agreed to see you. He is a therapist. He will be here at the end of the week." He informed him.

"Okay." He looked down at the rest of his soup. His appetite was lost but he kept eating.

"How are you feeling?" He asked the green eyed boy.

"Feeling?" He looked surprised to have been asked.

"Yes, any pain?" He asked.

"No."

"Good." He smiled.

Harry nodded but had mixed feelings. He wasn't used to people not wanting him to be in pain. It was usually expected for him to be in pain. If he wasn't then that didn't last long. Now these people wanted him to be pain free. It was nice but very odd to him.

"How are you feeling emotionlessly?" The God of Death asked.

"I don't understand." No one ever asked him that before.

"Are you happy, scared, maybe confused?" He clarified. 'Damn those people to Hell!'

The other three silently listened. Not one of them was happy with what they were seeing. Harry was shocked to be asked. No one should be shocked to be asked how they were feeling. He didn't even understand what the question meant. Patty's eyes flashed with rage. Liz's hands were clenched tight. Kid's mouth was clenched. They all hated the Dursleys.

"I… I'm scared and confused." Harry admitted.

"I can't even imagine. All I can tell you is that it is okay to feel that way and that you're safe here." He said.

The weapon nodded but they all knew he didn't actually believe it. He was still using his reasonings based on what he experienced with the Dursleys.

"I know you don't believe me but we will continue to prove it until you do." Lord Death said.

Harry nodded his head once again. Death smiled and they all finished eating. The dishes were taken back to the kitchen and Lord Death went back to work. Patty took Harry to the living room to watch some cartoons. Kid and Liz did their own things as they watched the two. They were very thankful Patty could keep Harry calm.

Meanwhile Death had arrived at the school and learned that he had a guest. The shinigami was curious and wondered what the natural born wizard wanted. He invited the man into his office.

"How may I help you sir?" He asked.

"My name is Thomas Riddle. I came here to see about a boy I have been looking for. First though do you know who Albus Dumbledore is?" The man asked.

"I do. He is an evil natural born." He couldn't wait for that bastard to die. "Why?"

"Fifteen years ago he attacked a family. He found out that they had learned the truth about him and were no longer loyal. He killed the parents but the baby he couldn't kill. Every spell he cast would hit a shield that had appeared around the baby. The godfather of the child showed up. The man made it look like the dark lord had shown up and killed them but was defeated by the child. He had gotten the godfather arrested so that he couldn't take custody of the child. The dark lord is actually me. Dumbledore didn't like that I tried to change the world so he had me labeled as a maniac trying to wipe out anyone not pure. He thought I had died and that was why he told the world I had been defeated. Anyway that baby was placed with the mother's adopted sister and her family." Riddle explained.

"How do you know?" Death asked.

"After I was labeled a dark lord I realized just how evil that man truly was. I had sent a very talented man to spy on him. This spy is amazing at not being seen or heard. He overheard the man talking about it. That old fool loves talking to himself and bragging about what he had done." He answered.

"What is the name of the child?" He asked.

"Hayden James Potter." He said.

"Go on." This man better not want his son or else there would be hell to pay.

"James was a natural born, a pureblood. Lily was unique. She was half animal witch and half natural born. Her animal was that of a cheetah. She was also a weapon. She could change into multiple weapons. He told Petunia that Lily and her husband were killed by animal witches. The reason was to keep the boy away from them. He paid the family to abuse the child but not enough to kill him. He had set up wards around the home to keep anyone from finding the child. Before his eleventh birthday they moved. All we know was that they had lived in London. No one could find him until now. I was informed that the family moved here to Death City." He finished.

"Why?" He asked.

"I want to make sure Dumbledore doesn't get his hands on Hayden. He wants that boy as his weapon. I also want to remove the child from those monsters." He answered truthfully.

Death could see from the man's soul that he was indeed telling the truth.

"Does Dumbledore know that they moved here?" He asked.

"Yes. He has yet to send someone. He wants more information." Riddle answered.

"I see. Harry is alright." He told him.

"What?" He looked at the Death God in shock.

"They came here yesterday to enroll their son and Harry. I knew immediately that he was being abused. Both children were removed from their custody. I took in Harry and sent Dudley to Mrs. Mullen's home for boys. She has a way of reforming children. Petunia and Vernon are in prison." He told him.

"Thank Merlin." He said in relief.

"Indeed. What were you trying to change?" He asked.

"Huh?' The red eyed man looked confused.

"You said Dumbledore had you labeled as a dark lord because he didn't like you trying to change the world. What were you trying to change?" He clarified.

"One was to help muggleborns. I wanted to have their home monitored the minute we knew a magical child resided there. It was to protect the child from abuse. I also wanted to set up some schools for them so that by the time they entered Hogwarts they were caught up." He said.

"Muggleborns?" The raised eyebrow was unseen.

"That is what a natural born is called if they have two non-magical parents. Those non-magical people are called muggles." He sneered at the name.

"That sounds very offensive." He commented.

"I thought so. I wanted to change the names as well." He said.

"Any other changes?" Death asked.

"Yes. I wanted to remove a few creature laws that restricted many magical creatures as well as allow them to have their own Government. Only few do and even then they aren't respected." The natural born said.

"I will help." He said. 'Those changes sound like they need to happen and Harry is a part of that world since he is a natural born.'

"You will?" The wizard was shocked.

"Yes. Harry is now my family and he is a natural born. Plus I have been wanting Dumbledore's soul for a while now." The smirk behind the mask would have caused even the bravest to shiver in fear if it wasn't hidden.

"Thank you." He felt hope blossoming in his chest. 'I knew we had a chance to win but with Lord Death on my side those chances have risen. Dumbledore and his evil plans will soon be but a part of history.'

"You're welcome." He said.

"I will have everything I have on the Potters sent over. I'm sure Harry would like to know them." He said.

"He would. It would also help us train Harry." He said gratefully.

"I will also have pictures and descriptions of Dumbledore and his pawns sent over." Riddle said.

"Thank you. I'll inform you when they show up." He said.

"Thank you. I shall take my leave." He said.

"Goodbye." Death said.

Riddle bowed before leaving. Lord Death called his weapon and Stein into his office. He informed them of what happened.

(With Harry and the others)

Harry and Patty had finished watching cartoons. They had gone back to the art room. Liz and Kid followed. Patty was making origami and showing Harry how to do it. Liz painted her nails as Kid worked on making the room symmetrical. After a while the green eyed boy realized he was having fun. His uncle had always told him that freaks weren't allowed to have fun.

"Are you okay Harry?" Patty asked. "Is origami not fun for you?"

"N-no it is." He bit his lip in worry.

"Are you sure? We can do something else." She said.

"It's fun but…." He trailed off.

The blonde realized the problem and smiled. "It's okay to have fun."

"But uncle Ver-" She cut him off.

"That man wasn't your uncle. Uncles don't treat their nephews that way. He was a monster who can't hurt you anymore. You are not a freak and you are allowed to have fun." She said.

"She's right Harry." Liz said. "Even if you were a freak you would be allowed to have fun."

"O-okay." He smiled at the sisters and went back to what he was doing.

The other three smiled at that. They knew that Harry would have set backs. Luckily they were able to stop this set back from getting too bad. Kid sent his dad a message and explained what happened. The golden eyed boy just hoped that Patty was around every time because she was really good at knowing when something was wrong with Harry and helping him calm down. He really hated those monsters.

They stayed in that room until Lord Death came back. "Hello everyone."

"Father." Kid nodded his head.

"Lord Death." Liz greeted.

"Hya." Patty giggled.

"Hi." Harry said shyly.

"Stein should be here soon to drop off some vitamins. After dinner and then I shall tell you what I learned about your mother." Death told Harry.

"My mum?" He looked at the shinigami.

"Yes." He confirmed. "Okay."

"Great." He smiled.

They went to the dining room and found Stein waiting for them. He had been let in by one of the staff and told to wait in the dining room. They knew Lord Death was going to be there soon.

"Hello Franken. You're early." He said.

"Hello everyone. I needed to get away from Black Star." The white haired man replied.

"Ah." The blue haired boy wasn't used to being idle.

"I bet." Kid mumbled.

"Well here are the vitamins." He handed the bottles over. "He should take them before every meal."

"Alright. Would you like to join us?" Lord Death asked.

"No, I already have plans." He left after that.

They sat down at the table. This time they ate vegetable beef soup and beef sandwiches. Harry only ate the soup. He really liked it. Afterwards Harry and Death retired to the living room. He told Harry what he learned about his mom. It made Harry happy. It made sense. He had been to the zoo once. No one could watch him so they were forced to come along. He had felt a connection with the feline. He had a nice time until the snake incident. He never did tell anyone he could talk to snakes.

After the talk Harry went to bed. Death stayed up doing work before he too went to bed.
