Shortly after the altercation between her master and the three children of Death Eaters, Arturia had the instigators locked in one of the compartments near the prefects' car before standing outside of it for the rest of the trip, keeping guard.

She was more than a bit irritated that Harry had once again been attacked while she wasn't with him, even though he'd managed the situation well from what she'd gathered. True, this time it was just a schoolboy with a vendetta, but that didn't mean she liked the fact that she was once more unavailable to watch her Master's back.

As for Draco himself, she was not really surprised by what he'd done. He was angry and grieving, and people in such situations tended to lash out at those they perceived to be responsible for their troubles. She could wish that he would focus his anger at a more appropriate target, but he was still only a teenager. Even in her time, when people were forced to mature faster than they were now, teenagers were known to be emotional and irrational.

That didn't mean she was going to offer him any leniency, however. From what she'd understood he'd attacked Harry with the full intention of causing serious harm at the least, if not outright murder. That was not something that she would let pass, even if the target hadn't been her Master. Not in a school that children should be able to feel safe in.

She was listening to the rain pounding down on the roof of the train when she noticed the Head Girl, Gretchen Conrad, approaching her. "Yes, Gretchen?"

The girl stopped in front of the compartment that Arturia was guarding. She glanced in through the window to find Draco and his cronies awake and stewing. They didn't notice her due to the charm they'd put on the window to make it one way only. "I thought I should let you know that we'll be reaching Hogwarts in ten minutes or so. We sent an owl ahead of us to let the teachers know what happened, so someone should be at the station to take those three off your hands."

Arturia smiled at the girl. "Thank you for the information, Gretchen. I'm glad the Head Girl takes her duties so seriously."

Gretchen blushed slightly but smiled. "I try my best. I am a Hufflepuff, after all."

Arturia chuckled lightly and nodded, remembering what she'd been told of the Hogwarts houses. "That you are. Very well, I will wait here for the teachers to arrive and take custody of our troublemakers."

"What do you think's going to happen to them?" Gretchen asked, becoming serious.

Arturia crossed her arms. "I don't know what the school's normal discipline is like. If it were up to me Malfoy at the least would be kicked out. However, that causes trouble as well, considering how politically connected his family is, despite what happened to his father."

"Most people wouldn't complain if he was expelled." Gretchen said honestly. "I've heard from a few Slytherin acquaintances that even his housemates only pretend to like him due to those political connections you mentioned. Even if he is allowed to stay he probably won't have a fun time of it considering his father is no longer in the picture for him to threaten people with."

"Well, that is for the Headmaster to decide. I am simply here as security. If he does stay then I will most definitely be paying special attention to him and his compatriots, however." Arturia said firmly as she leaned back against the wall, already feeling the train begin to slow down even as the deluge seemed to increase.

The Head Girl nodded in understanding. "Well, I need to go perform my duties. Don't forget to let us know if you need anything."

Arturia nodded gratefully. "Of course."

Five minutes after Gretchen left the train came to a final stop. Arturia straightened and waited for the teachers to show up even as the students began to leave the train, bowing their heads and rushing in order to avoid the rain as much as possible. Eventually she saw two adults she assumed to be professors. One was a severe looking woman with her hair tied back and a hat on her head, green robes untouched by the rain that seemed to avoid a six foot area around her. Behind her walked a sallow faced man with a hooked nose and greasy looking hair, black robes covering him. Arturia recognized the two from the kids' descriptions as Minerva McGonagall and Severus Snape.

McGonagall eyed the Servant with a raised eyebrow, Snape seeming to glare at anything and everything. "So you are the security Albus said he hired?"

Noting that it seemed as though Dumbledore hadn't informed them of her true identity she decided to continue along that vein. "I am. My name is Arturia. It is a pleasure to meet you, Professor McGonagall, Professor Snape."

"Albus told us you are a being summoned through the Potter Family Magic, though he would not give specifics for the sake of your privacy and Mister Potter's." McGonagall said. "Still, I heard of your actions at the World Cup, so I imagine the students will be much safer with you here." The stern woman offered her a light smile that disappeared when Snape spoke.

"Albus is too trusting." Snape said sourly. "I highly doubt someone like Potter could truly summon what Albus says he did." Before Arturia could do more than narrow her eyes at the man he continued impatiently. "Where are Draco and the others?"

"We've been keeping them in the compartment behind me." Arturia said calmly, not giving him the satisfaction of reacting to his words.

Snape strode forward and snapped the door open with a wave of his wand, letting sound escape from the room for the first time. "-let me out of here or-" Draco's voice was saying before he was cut off, the young man staring at his Head of House. Said man stared down at the boy imperiously before turning to leave the train. "Come, Draco, Gregory, Vincent." He said simply, sounding almost bored.

Draco immediately began walking his cronies following along. "Sir, Potter attacked me!" Arturia noticed McGonagall subtly rolling her eyes at the obvious lie. "It was vicious and unprovoked! He-!" He cut himself off again when he caught sight of Arturia. He stared blankly at her for a moment before his eyes went wide and his face reddened as much as his normal pale complexion allowed. "YOU!" His hand went into his robes, searching for his wand, not seeming to remember that it had been confiscated. "You killed me father! I'm going to-!"

"DRACO!" Snape thundered, the boy instinctively going still. "You are in enough trouble as it is." The man continued silkily. "Do not make it worse by attacking the school security."

Draco looked incredulous. "But-"

"Be quiet and come with me. Now." Then Snape turned and resumed walking off the train, fully expecting the teens to follow.

Draco gave Arturia one last dark look before doing so, walking out into the pounding rain dejectedly.

McGonagall let out a sigh. "That boy has always been difficult." She murmured.

"What will be done with him?" Arturia asked the other woman.

"I gave my recommendation, which was expulsion. Severus, on the other hand, argued for leniency owing to the boy's mental state. Albus was still deliberating the matter when I left him." McGonagall answered before turning to her new colleague. "In any case, allow me to escort you to the castle. The feast should be starting around now, and we need to be there." Turning she led the way out into the rain, a flick of her wand once again making the falling water avoid her. Arturia followed behind, glancing up to see that the rain was simply flowing around them rather than being stopped by something like an invisible umbrella. It was actually a bit impressive.

When they reached the last remaining carriage headed for the castle Arturia stopped in surprise, blinking to make sure she was seeing correctly. "You have thestrals pulling the carriages?"

"Indeed." McGonagall said with a nod. "The only domesticated herd in the United Kingdom, courtesy of Hagrid. The man truly has a gift when it comes to animals."

After making a note to speak with Hagrid took a seat in the carriage, watching with interest as Hogwarts came into view through the gloom. It made for an impressive sight, she had to admit, even compared to some of the other castles she'd seen during her lifetime.

Arriving at the castle they walked into the Great Hall to find the students already eating. They looked up curiously when she walked in, following McGonagall to a seat that had been set out for her at the head table, but were otherwise occupied with filling their bellies.

When the meal came to an end she listened attentively to the announcements. She stood up when Dumbledore introduced her to the student body as security that had been hired for the event occurring that year, which had more than one person murmuring to each other in interest and confusion.

Alastor Moody's introduction was… interesting, considering the way he walked into the room. Arturia eyed him as he sat down and started to eat, taking in all the scars he bore with interest. This man had obviously seen his fair share of combat, especially considering what she assumed magical medicine was capable of in the current era.

The announcement of the Tri-Wizard Tournament sent the students into an uproar. Arturia listened with interest as it was explained, finding the idea of a magical competition between schools intriguing. Less intriguing was the news that it had been stopped before due to the sheer number of fatalities. She'd be making sure that Harry went nowhere near the competition except as a spectator, no matter what steps had been taken to lessen the danger.

Eventually the entire event was over and the students were on their way to the dorms. Dumbledore spoke to her as he stood up. "There will be a staff meeting tomorrow morning before classes begin that I want you to attend. I'll send someone to guide you to the staff room to avoid any issues. Would that be alright?"

Arturia nodded. "I have no problem with that. I look forward to getting to know the staff."

"Excellent. In that case, Mister Filch will lead you to your quarters. I must, unfortunately, go deal with the issue of young Mister Malfoy and his friends." Dumbledore said with a sigh.

"Have you made a decision on what you're going to do with him?" Arturia asked curiously.

"I think so. I believe I will be taking the middle path between the options I've been given." Dumbledore said, stroking his beard.

"As long as he no longer causes any trouble. I will not be lenient if he decides to attack someone again, whether or not it is my master."

"Indeed. Hopefully we will have no more issues. I will speak with you later." With that the headmaster left, McGonagall and Snape following him, leaving Arturia to head to her room and get some rest.

Dumbledore's office was silent but for the sounds his various trinkets made and the patter of rain on the roof. The headmaster himself sat behind his desk, his face serious and his fingers interlaced on its surface. Draco sat in front of him, staring sullenly at the ground, his face angry with a hint of fear. Snape sat to the side, arms crossed as he kept an eye on his student. McGonagall's face seemed made of stone as she sat next to the desk, going through some papers as she waited. Fawkes simply watched the tableau with interest, keeping his peace.

The silence was broken when Dumbledore looked over to the doors to his office. "Please come in, Narcissa." Draco's eyes went wide when the door opened and his mother walked in, her sharp gaze slipping from one of the room's occupants to another before resting on her son, her face tightening. Then she walked in and took the seat that she was offered next to Draco.

"Why did you call me in at this time of night, Albus?" Narcissa asked, voice strong and sure despite the fact that she knew for sure it couldn't be anything good. A dark part of her whispered that the headmaster was going to take the opportunity of Lucius' death to use her son as a political pawn. The rest of her quashed the notion, however. No matter what she thought of Dumbledore's stance on many issues, she could acknowledge he wasn't that conniving.

Dumbledore sighed as he looked at the woman seriously, his customary twinkle gone from his eye. "I'm afraid your son is in very serious trouble, Narcissa. While on the Hogwarts Express he attacked Harry Potter and his friends with dangerous spells of questionable legality, if the descriptions of them are true. It appears that he was seeking vengeance against Mr Potter due to blaming him for Lucius' death."

Narcissa closed her eyes and let out a sigh, the only indication she was cursing her son's foolishness. As angry as she personally was about Lucius' death, she knew damn well better than to move against Potter and his Servant, at least at the moment. Hell, she blamed Lucius for being an idiot and donning the mask again more than she did the boy for trying to be a hero.

The fool who'd originally cast the Killing Curse, on the other hand… Well, if the Dark Lord ever reappeared, he'd find himself down another Death Eater for sure…

She had hoped Draco would be enough of a Slytherin to control such impulses, but unfortunately it seemed there was too much Black in him. Opening her eyes she nodded to Dumbledore in understanding. "What is his punishment to be, then?"

Draco seemed shocked she was going along with it. "What!? Mother, it's not true! Potter attacked me! He-"

"Be silent, Draco, for God's sake!" Narcissa snapped, fury and disappointment in her gaze and voice. "You're in enough trouble, there's no need to add to it." Then she turned to Dumbledore, waiting for the verdict.

"I have heard various opinions." The old wizard said slowly. "I do not wish to expel him and ruin his future, possibly leaving him to fall in with… undesirable elements…" He sat back in his chair. "However, I cannot simply let this pass. He attacked fellow students without provocation and with malicious intent. I do not believe detentions will cut it, this time." He was silent for a moment before speaking as he nodded to himself, coming to a decision. "Take him home, Narcissa. He will be suspended for the next two months. He may come back on Halloween in order to attend the Champion Selection and start his classes, but he will have to catch up with his classwork on his own time after that." He sighed. "Hopefully the time away will cool his temper and allow you to impress on him the seriousness of his actions."

Narcissa felt the tension she felt dissipate slightly. It was not ideal, but much better than expulsion. And she would definitely be hammering what it meant to be a proper Slytherin into Draco during his time home. "Thank you for your leniency, Albus. I will make sure to work on him so this doesn't happen again." Standing up she motioned for Draco to do the same, the boy doing so reluctantly, keeping his silence despite the anger on his face. Then she swept out of the room, not even looking back, fully expecting her son to follow, which he did.

Dumbledore picked up one of his lemon drops and popped it into his mouth before he tried to relax as Minerva and Severus left as well. He hoped these actions would turn things around for young Malfoy, but something told him the trouble was only just beginning.

The next morning an armor-less Arturia walked into the staff room to find the rest of her new coworkers gathered around, many of them bleary eyed and gulping down coffee or tea. It was rather early in the morning, after all, the students not even up yet, and it had been a late night as well.

Arturia had decided not to wake Harry and Ron for training that morning, letting them recover from the previous day's excitement. She'd be impressing on them later in the day that she wouldn't give such breaks often.

Moving to the space she was directed to she took a seat next to a dusky skinned woman in what appeared to be her mid to late twenties who nodded to her in welcome before continuing her conversation with a slightly older blonde woman sitting next to her. Proceeding to pour some tea for herself Arturia sat back and observed everyone.

"Ye'd be Arturia then, would ya?" An enormous man said as he made his way over to her. She had to look up quite a bit to look into his kind eyes. This could only be Rubeus Hagrid.

"I am. It's a pleasure to meet you, Mr. Hagrid. I've been told quite a bit about you." She said with a smile.

"Ah promise I'm not that bad." He said with a chuckle. "An please, jes call me Hagrid."

"Alright Hagrid." Arutira said with a nod. "Do you know what this meeting is about?"

"Beats me." The large man said with a shrug. "Usually Dumbledore waits till tha end of the first week to have a meeting."

Arturia let out a hum of understanding before looking over at the door as said man walked in, everybody proceeding to take their seats.

"Thank you for coming this morning, everybody." The headmaster said as he sat down. "I understand it's unusually early for this, but there are a couple of things I feel need to be discussed before classes start today, in case any students come to you with questions." Seeing that everybody had made their understanding known he smiled and motioned to Arturia. "First of all, as a proper introduction, this is Arturia, who I've informed you of before. Arturia, these will be your colleagues for the coming year." He said, before introducing each teacher by name and subject. The only one missing was Binns, the history professor, and from what Harry and the others had said that wasn't too surprising.

"Are you really a hero from myth and legend summoned to this time by the Potter Family Magic?" Flitwick asked with avid interest from his own seat across the table from her, ignoring Snape's scoff.

"I am." Arturia said calmly.

"Which one?" Bathsheda Babbling asked, gazing with curiosity at her.

Arturia hesitated before responding. "I'd rather wait to tell you until I've consulted with my master. The Weasley family knows, along with Dumbledore, but I'm unsure if we want to allow the information to go any further. Please let me discuss it with him first."

There were nods around the table before Septima Vector spoke, a light blush on her cheeks. "Your master? I know he summoned you, but I didn't expect those to be part of your duties to him…"

Arturia stared at the Arithmancy professor blankly for several seconds even as the other teachers glanced at each other wearily. Then her eyes widened when she realized what the woman was implying. "Wha-! No!" She shook her head furiously. "I am certain that Harry could summon any number of Servants that would be amenable to serving him in such a way, but I am not one of them. I am sure he is quite well aware that if he ever tried anything with me it would not end well for him in the least." The steel in those last words made the absent Potter shiver in fear as he got out of bed.

As Septima let out a noise of understanding Bathsheda shook her head in exasperation. "Honestly, Sep, why are you such a pervert?"

"I am not!" Vector protested vehemently, only to be met by snorts of disbelief by her colleagues, prompting her to slump in her seat.

Dumbledore looked like he was doing his best not to laugh before he coughed to bring attention back to himself. "In any case, the main issue to discuss is what has been done about Draco Malfoy, Vincent Crabbe and Gregory Goyle."

As everybody focused on the old man Arturia paid special attention, wanting to know what had happened to the boy that attacked her master.

Dumbledore glanced around at his faculty's faces, knowing that by now they were all aware of what had transpired on the Hogwarts Express. Moody looked especially severe. "Mrsrs. Crabbe and Goyle are confined to their dorm rooms for the next two weeks. Their housemates will be bringing their homework to them during that time. We all know they were not the instigators of the event, or even aware all that much of what was going on." It galled Albus to speak of his students in such a way, but the fact that the two young men weren't exactly the sharpest of knives was undeniable.

"And Malfoy?" Alastor asked, not bothering to hide his contempt when he said the name, nor to look apologetic at his old friend's look.

"Mr. Malfoy has been suspended for two months and sent home with his mother. He will be back on Halloween. It is my hope that by then he will, if nothing else, have learned some measure of control. If there are any further incidents after that, then I'm afraid expulsion will be the next step, depending on the severity of his actions." Dumbledore explained calmly.

He didn't miss the fact that most of the teachers looked rather relieved not to have to deal with Malfoy in their classes for the next couple of months. It rather saddened him that the boy had been poisoned so thoroughly that the people who should have most wanted to help him were simply glad he wasn't going to be an issue any longer.

"I believe that is all that needed to be discussed at the moment." Dumbledore said. "Unless anybody has something new to bring up?"

Arturia raised her hand. "I would like to know if you could take some time to discuss the school's defences with me, along with what is planned for the Tri-Wizard Tournament, so that I can perform my duties as best I can."

Albus nodded agreeably as Alastor grunted in approval at the idea. "I do not see a problem with that. We can do that after breakfast." Then he looked at the rest of his staff. "Speaking of which, I believe it should be starting shortly, and I don't know about you, but I feel quite famished."

With a chorus of agreement the teachers all got up and began to file out of the room, Arturia and Dumbledore leaving last. "Do you truly believe a suspension will resolve the Malfoy boy's issues?" The blonde king asked.

Dumbledore sighed slightly. "I can hope, Arturia. It is my duty as his teacher to help him in any way I can. Unfortunately, whether I succeed or not is entirely up to him."

"Forgive me if I keep an especially close eye on him." She said seriously.

"I would be surprised if you didn't, your highness." With that the two headed off to grab some food and begin the day.

In the Eastern European tower, the woman who'd summoned the Assassin that attempted to eliminate Harry Potter tapped her lips thoughtfully before speaking to herself, as was her habit due to her self imposed isolation.

"It seems my previous agent failed… Surprising, considering he never has before. This Potter must be quite skilled, lucky, and have an excellent Servant." She moved to her bookcase and pulled down an old, thick volume on myths and legends, absently flipping the pages of the precious tome. "I will need to consider my options carefully. Possibly someone who has more skills than simply concealment…" She looked up as a clock began to ring. "That time already…?"

Moving to another section of her laboratory she approached a large group of brightly glowing crystals and picked up one of the dimmer ones that was to the side. Then she approached a small cage near one of the tower windows. "Come, little one." She said cruelly, tauntingly. "Time for another session."

The creature in the cage growled at her defiantly.

"Always so willful…" She said with a chuckle. "One would think you'd have learned your lesson by now…" Holding up the crystal she began to chant.

"Fou!" The small beast snapped at her before its body seized up as the familiar pain of its power being ripped away from it came. Like every time before, it couldn't hold back its cry as the energy streamed from it and into the crystal, no matter how hard it tried. "FOOOOOUUUUU!"

Finally finished!

As I've stated before in other ANs of other fics, the current situation in the world is causing issues in my life that are hampering my writing, which is why certain things are taking their sweet time. Still, I promised that this chapter would be out by the end of the month, and so I keep that promise.

Not much happened here except for some setup for the future. I didn't want to completely sideline Draco just yet. He still has his uses. That said, letting him get away scott free just wasn't in the cards.

Arturia gets to know her new coworkers. Not much on that front yet, but I plan to expand on it.

The ending portion is the most important part of the chapter, in my opinion, no matter how short. It's going to have big consequences in the future.

I had several people complain that giving Ron, Hermione and others the ability to summon Servants minimized the uniqueness of the Potter Family Magic. More than one person was quite unhappy in fact. To that I just want to say… who said they were getting the ability to summon Servants? I said that they'd get a Servant, not that they'd be the ones summoning them. The ability to summon Servants is still Harry's and Harry's alone. Well, him and creepy tower lady.

Also, I really hate writing Hagrid dialogue.

I believe that's all I have to say, so as always, please remember that you can have a say in what I write by donating to my Pat A Ron. Each dollar donated equals one vote in my monthly poll. That's at Pat A Ron dotcom /athanmortis.

As always, thank you all for reading, please leave a review, and I'll see you all next time.
