"Man I'm sick of school already" Gray groaned out

Jellal raised a brow "It's been three weeks"

Natsu's eyes widened in shock "You're kidding! It's only been three weeks?!"

"Feels like a year to me" Gajeel added

Loke let out a charming rich boy laugh(if you know what I mean) "My my my! You three just haven't fully experienced the joys in school!"

Gajeel scoffed "That's because all you do is hang out with chicks!"

Loke smirked "Oh? Is someone jealous of my good looks and high charisma?-"

Gajeel was quick to grab Loke by the collar, he cocked his fist ready to give Loke an educational beating "Good looks and high charisma my as-"

"Woah there!" Loke held up his hands in defense "I was just kidding about the jealous part besides it's not like you can't get a girl, I mean, I'm pretty sure Levy would like to have a night with you"

Gajeel blushed and looked at his other friends only to see them all agreeing with what Loke said, he dropped Loke "Whatever, your lucky class is about to start"

As they were walking Natsu noticed a blonde walking past them with her head down, he abruptly stopped and stared at the girl before she was out of sight "Yo Natsu! What are you lookin at?" Gray asked but Natsu didn't respond he looked back to see what he was staring at and caught a glimpse of blonde hair.

"Isn't that the new girl?" Jellal asked before Gray could

Natsu nodded slowly "Yeah"

-YESTERDAY-

"Alright, settle down class I have an announcement to make" That in itself was an announcement to the students that they started guessing what the announcement would be before Gildarts would say anything.

"Think he's gonna bring his wife?"

"What the? Are you insane, why would he bring his wife to school?"

"Well I mean you never know"

"Bet"

Now that Gildarts was listening to his students he had just realized how insane they were, their guesses would either be horrifying, questionable, ridiculous and down right concerning, it made him wonder if he would be able to survive with these kind of students.

Tired of hearing everybody talk Gildarts cleared his throat to gains everyone's attention "We have a new student" he announced

And again the students started talking well more like hoping and dreaming

"A new student?! Damn it better be a hot chick!"

"I hope it'll be a dreamy boy"

"I mean if we get a top grade student then I'm down"

"Ugh yeah right, you're just going to cheat off of the person"

Natsu and Gray listened to their little chats, they both looked at each other and started laughing.

"They're getting their hopes up! Hey wanna bet that the new student'll be a creepy old dude" Gray spoke

Natsu laughed even louder agreeing with Gray's guess "Alright, loser buys lunch!"

They both made their little bet official by shaking hands

Gray slumped in his chair, a relaxed smile on his face "School barely started and yet they seem so excited for a new student, people nowadays only want new things"

Natsu blinked as he processed what Gray had said, his mouth formed a small 'o' shape as he looked at Gray with surprise.

Gray noticed "The hell?! Quit lookin at me like that you weirdo" even after saying something Natsu continued staring, his brow twitched as he felt his anger grew. He grabbed a book and threw it towards Natsu, hitting him on the head.

"Wipe that stupid face off, you idiot"

Natsu fell backwards when the book made contact with him, he sat up from the floor and shouted "What the hel-" his sentence was cut short when another flying object, this time a chalk, hit his head.

"Shut your mouth Dragneel" Gildarts said

Natsu grumbled as he stood up and sat down at his chair, he noticed Gray laughing and glared at him for a moment before turning his attention to Gildarts and the new student

Natsu and pretty much everyone else kept their eye on the door, awaiting to see who was the new student and slowly but surely a girl with blonde hair appeared and made her way to the front of the class just right next to Gildarts.

Natsu and Gray looked at each other dumbfounded by the new student, they had the same question in their mind 'What about the bet?' "So, about the bet" Natsu snickered "What! No way you agreed that the new student'll be an old dude"

Natsu chuckled "That's not how it works" Gray thought for a second then realized that Natsu won and he lost "No, I'm not buying you lunch! You're gonna suck up all my money with that big mouth of yours"

"We shook on it, so you better pay up"

"The hell?! No wa-" Gray got cut off by Gildarts, instead of continuing their little argument he paid attention to Gildarts and so did Natsu

"Go ahead introduce yourself" Gildarts said

The girl nodded, her actions were slow and timid, her head down as she spoke "M-my name is" she paused "L-Lucy Heartfilia...i-it's nice to-to meet..all of you" she raised her head and gave a small smile to everyone.

"She is the new student so please make her feel welcome here and don't do anything to her, don't bully her, don't harass her in anyway, don't hurt her just don't do anything to her, she's new to this whole school setting so please be respectful and nice, I don't want any funny business come towards her" with the last sentence he glared at Natsu, specifically

"Oi! Quit lookin' at me I'm not gonna do anything to her" Natsu spat back

Gildarts looked around for a vacant seat for Lucy, but unfortunately for him or for her the only vacant seat was next to Natsu. He worried for the girl she seemed so shy and innocent who know what'll Natsu influence on her.

Gildarts sighed "Lucy you can take the seat next to that pink haired prick"

Natsu stood up from his seat and held a fist "Who you calling a prick!?"

Gildarts shook his head, took a a piece of paper from his desk and gave it to Natsu "For you" he said with a big grin on his face

Natsu took the paper and quickly recognized what it was "Detention?! For what?"

"Being disruptive, now sit down"

Natsu sat down and mumbled to himself " Disruptive? You kiddin he was verbally abusing a student"

Gray heard him and let out a muffled laugh "Serves you right! Torch head"

Lucy walked over to her seat she could feel everybody staring at her she felt really uncomfortable and embarrassed by the fact that everybody's eyeballs were on her, it made her want to shrink down, she didn't like getting attention in fact she wanted to feel as if she wasn't there at all, after walking for what seemed like forever Lucy finally made it to her seat and sat down as the students started to talk about her.

"She's so pretty"

"Poor girl she seems so shy"

"I love her blonde hair"

"Woah, she's really cute"

Lucy could just hear everybody talking about her she did appreciate the compliments but she thought that they were just complimenting her because the teacher said to be nice

"She looks smart, think I can get her to do my homework?"

"No you jerk! You heard what Gildarts said no funny business"

"But that was directed to Natsu"

Gray listened in and thought, since Natsu was next to Lucy he could cheat off of her on a test and if Natsu would do that then that would mean he could cheat off of Natsu that is if Lucy is smart, just because she's wearing glasses doesn't mean she's smart right off the bat, it'd be wrong to assume someone by their appearance.

"She seems pretty smart...maybe you could cheat off her" Gray suggested

"Can you not see the distance between me and her...oh wait you can't because of your droopy eyes" Natsu mocked

"At least I don't have flames for brains" Gray held a fist up

Natsu stood up "At least I HAVE a brain"

"YOU CALLING ME STUPID?!" Gray said ready to punch him

"I'M CALLING YOU BRAINLESS" Natsu shouted

"Oi! No fighting in class" Gildarts warned

"Calling Gildarts Clive please head to the principals office" The speaker announced

"What now?...Ill be right back class, make sure you behave yourselves" and just like that Gildarts walked out

As soon as Gildarts stepped out students started to talk between themselves, they laughed and spat out words endlessly all the while being quiet, they knew Gildarts wouldn't mind a few noise but if they were to be loud and Gildarts found out they would all be in trouble.

As Lucy sat down on her chair she couldn't help but feel awkward and embarrassed, everyone had someone to talk to except for her 'C'mon Lucy just talk! It's not that hard but I don't know anyone here, I wish Levy was here'

Oi flame head you've been staring at that blondie for awhile" Gray said snapping Natsu from his gaze "Do you have a crush on blondie?" he smirked

"What no I don't" Natsu denied Gray's assumption

"Yeah suuure you don't" Gray said nudging him with his elbow

"I'll tell Juvia you like her" Natsu grinned mischievously

"You wouldn't dare"

"Oh yes I would" Natsu smirked "What's the matter? If I tell her it won't do any damage in fact it'll do you good, she really likes you heck she might be inlovee with you and you know that's true" Natsu grinned when he saw Gray blush

Gray didn't respond

Natsu continued his gaze on the blonde haired girl

From the corner of Lucy's eye she could see a pink haired boy staring at her intently, she kept her head down in hopes that he would divert his attention else where, she fiddled with her skirt as she tried her best to ignore his intense gaze but she failed to do so. He stuck out like a sore thumb with his pink hair and that only made things harder for Lucy, she had the urge to say something but couldn't and if she just looked at him he might think she's creepy or something 'Why does he keep staring at me, is there something on my face? Did I do something to him?'

"She's kinda cute" Natsu commented without realizing

Gray smirked "So you do like her?" Natsu gave Gray a questioning gaze "What?"

"You just said 'She's kinda cute'"

Natsu blinked confusion written all over his face "I did?"

"Yeah" All his friends said

Natsu shook his head and mumbled to himself "Guess I said it out loud" he looked at all his friends, they were all looking at him with the same look on their faces then he realized what they were thinking "No I don't like her like that, just because I called her cute doesn't I'm in love with her"

"As expected of Natsu" Jellal commented

Natsu furrowed his brows "The hell is that supposed to mean?"

Gajeel let out a laugh and patted Natsu in the back "C'mon Salamander, don't you see? You've been single for the longest time out of all of us"

"And you haven't had your first kiss yet" Jellal added

"Yeah, they're right" Gray agreed "So why don't you ask out the blondie?"

Natsu rolled his eyes "I can say the same thing to you about Juvia"

Gray covered Natsu's mouth "Shh keep your voice down!"

"He's got you there" Gajeel said

Gray narrowed his eyes at Gajeel and said "As if you're any better, you've been wussing out on Levy"

"Why you-"

Jellal put a hand up "That's enough, I'll have you three know that Erza is right behind us"

The three paused and looked behind them to see Erza approaching them, instantly they fixed themselves up, they stood up straight and acted as if nothing had happened

"Hello boys, What are you-"

To redirect Erza's attention to what happened earlier in case she saw, Loke spoke quickly as if they were just talking about something before she came"Lucy Heartfilia, huh?" Loke asked, the name tugging his interest.

Loke gave all his friends a look and they all understood what he was doing and so they played along

Natsu nodded "Yeah" he paused and without even thinking he added "Don't even think about it" Natsu warned, his eyes narrowed at Loke

"Think about what?"

Gray slung his arm around Loke's shoulder "We all know you're gonna try to get Lucy to fall in love with you so drop it besides Natsu had his eyes on her first"

"What!" Natsu exclaimed

Loke chuckled "That might be true but clearly he has no interest in her"

"I didn't say that! I just don't want to date a stranger" Natsu said

Loke shook his head "Didn't you just say you didn't 'like her', How about I have her and you can-"

"That's harsh Loke, let him have his chance" Gray leaned in closer and whispered "He's desperate you know" Loke and Gray laughed

What supposedly was an act to distract Erza turned to be a 'Let's bully Natsu for being single!' conversation, at this point he knew this wasn't about going along with Loke's little plan but instead it was real, they weren't just saying those things for show they were saying those things to get on Natsu's nerves and he knew them long enough to know that, that was true.

Completely ignoring the fact that Erza was there Natsu jumped at both Gray and Loke.

The only thing that went through Erza's mind was the name 'Lucy Heartfilia' 'Why does it sound so familiar? Could it be...'

Jellal stood beside her and gave her a kiss on the cheek "What are you doing here?"

Erza blushed "I-I was just monitoring the halls...as the student council president I have to do my job and make sure no one is violating any of the rules"

Jellal chuckled "That's my Erza"

"Well then I'll be on my way" Erza said before leaving

Jellal waved goodbye and shouted "I'll see you after school!"

"You hit like an old man!"

"Then you must be that weak!"

"Hey!" Jellal shouted, gaining the attention of the three fighting boys "You three are lucky Erza barely noticed you guys, now shut it before she comes back"

The three reluctantly let go of one another and stood up all the while glaring as each other

*Bell rings*

Jellal sighed "Let's go before we get late for class"

-LUNCH TIME-

Lucy got out of the classroom and stood in the middle of the busy hallways, she turned her head side to side unsure of the direction to the cafeteria 'Oh no...I forgot which way it is, That's okay I can just ask someone for directions'

She turned her head to the right seeing more students going that way, she followed them taking the same way they were taking 'What am I supposed to do? I don't see Levy or any of my friends...maybe I should've I told them I was coming here' she started to rethink her decisions, deep in thought she hadn't realized that she was about to bump into someone and when she did. She braced herself for qhen she was going to hit that floor but she never did, when she opened her eyes she saw a pretty familiar face.

"Are you okay?" Natsu asked as he held her tighter

"I-I...umm" Lucy stumbled with her words, she wasn't exactly used to stuff like this not only that she was being held by a boy and her heart couldn't take it.

'Her face is getting redder' Natsu shook her "Hey! Are you okay?"

Lucy came out of her senses and blinked, he was still holding her. When Lucy didn't respond he placed the right hand of his palm flatly on her forehead to check her temperature but it was no use with his body temperature he couldn't tell if she had a fever or not "Damn it"

Lucy was caught off guard by what Natsu was doing and eventually she found out what he was trying and thought that it was sweet that he was concerened about her, reluctantly she raised her hand and grabbed his wrist, slowly she put Natsu's hand down and let go "I-I'm...not sick"

"You're not?"

Lucy nodded as a response, Natsu raised a brow "But your face is red" he took a step closer to her "Are you lying?"

Lucy looked at him and out of instinct she pushed him away and said "T-Too close!" After that there was silence between them.

Natsu gave a confused look 'Did I do something wrong?' He tried to think about what he might have done wrong but his mind drew a blank, he just about to ask when she spoke "Wha-"

"I'm sorry! I...I d-didn't mean to do that, I-I just-"

Natsu laughed and put on a big grin "You're really cute"

Lucy blinked 'What?' She stared at him as he continued to laugh, his last sentence ringing in her head 'Wait...did he just call me cute!?' As she processed his words she felt her blood instantly rush to her face.

Natsu abruptly stopped when he caught a glimpse of Lucy, her face was so red and he was pretty sure steam was coming out of her 'What the!? She keeps on getting redder by the second!'

Lucy shook her head, she probably misheard what he said but what else could he have said then if she misheard him? 'It's probably nothing' For some reason she glanced at Natsu's watch and noticed the time 'Oh right! I need to find Levy but I don't know where the cafeteria is' Lucy glanced at Natsu's watch again, she looked at his face 'Maybe I could ask him'

"Umm" Lucy started

"Huh?"

"I-I...umm" She paused and took a deep breath and with one breath she asked "Iwaswonderingifyoucouldtakemetothecafeteria!"

'That was quick!' Natsu thought

She looked at his face and wondered if he even understood what she said, she couldn't tell if he was surprised or confused 'At least I didn't stutter'

Natsu smiled "Sure, I was headed there anyway so you can just follow me"

Lucy nodded, the smallest smile on her face "Th-Thank you"

"Don't mention it"

So...I read the original chapter 2 and oh my was it bad, like really bad what was I thinking? Everytime I went back to read it I was cringing so enough of that, this is the new and improved chapter 2 I hope you enjoyed(If you do not know of the original Chap. 2 then that is okay! It's nothing to worry about and you didn't miss anythin important)
