It had been a week since Allen had learned the truth behind his new found family, and-it would seem-the rest of the world as well. And true to his word, Kanda had stopped by each day, though not at the same time, where the two would scent each other. While it was not common, nor was it even uncommon, these moments were what grounded the omega. He had never trusted another alpha besides Mana and thus has missed out on a clearly much needed bonding; one that all omegas and alphas need whether platonically or not.
He still felt a twinge of fear whenever he stepped foot out of the small home, but he also felt safer than he ever had before. Perhaps Kanda's influence brought about this change, but he was reluctant to say for certain. Allen may have allowed the alpha closer than any had ever been, but he still hadn't breached that final layer.
Allen made his way out of the home and into the street, making his way to the most secluded part of Kanda's current patrol route. The alpha wasn't expecting him, but he wanted to ask the general a few questions; and if he didn't do so soon, he may never rebuild the confidence to ask again. He came upon a small fountain between two crossing alleyways, the water gurgling as it flowed. There he sat for a few hours, swishing his hand around in the water while waiting for the general to make his way to this area.
Finally, after a few hours, Allen spotted the alpha; the mid-day sun gleaming against the plate armor. The omega stood up and watched as the other got closer, waiting for him to notice that he was not alone.
"Allen? What are you doing here?" the alpha questioned once he spotted the omega by the fountain. Allen took a deep breathe, calming himself before getting straight to the point.
"I want you to teach me how to fight, to defend myself and defeat my enemies."
"What? No. I will not have you put yourself into unnecessary danger." Kanda hissed, clearly unhappy with the current topic. But Allen wouldn't take no for an answer.
"I'm already in danger, you said so yourself. The crown sees me as a way to manipulate Komui and Lenalee, and as I am right now, they could do just that. I want to protect them just as they have protected me. Please, teach me."
"Allen, fighting isn't something you can learn in a day, or even a month. It takes years of training, discipline, and vigor. Years we don't have." The alpha was close to strangling the boy, couldn't he see how dangerous their situation was? Both stood facing each other, their faces red as they argued their points.
"But-"
"We're already risking too much as it is, by my coming over everyday. Neah has many spies, and I can guarantee some of them have orders to follow me, and thus see my connection to you. It puts us both in peril."
"There has to be a way. I'm tired of being some burden, capable only of cowering and hiding. You all trusted me with the truth, not let me show you that I can help." At this, the omega felt the childish urge to stomp his foot; though that would only make it worse.
"Che! Fine, but I can not be the one to train you. My duties are already spread far and we can't be too obvious. One of my...associates will train you. He is strong, if not annoying. But if you ever tell him I said that, I'll deny it." Kanda couldn't believe he was giving in, or even so easily! But the pout and steaming anger the omega had displayed had been both aggravating and endearing. With an internal sigh, the alpha watched as Allen puffed up in pride and glee as his request was accepted.
"I'll bring him with me tomorrow, so be patient." the general acquiesced. Allen smiled and, before he knew what he was doing, pulled the alpha into a hug.
"Thank you." he whispered, almost jolting when a pair of armored arms wrapped around his waist. He couldn't quite explain it but he felt at ease within the embrace, not as fearful as he would have expected. It was with reluctance that the omega released Kanda and the general could see that the albino clearly didn't understand what was going on.
Kanda sighed softly and bent down to scent the other, releasing a soft growl of content when the albino didn't hesitate to reciprocate-something new, as the other was still very new to scenting. It was then that the general heard it, a soft rumbling emanating from the smaller males chest; a purr. Usually omegas only purred when they felt safe and content with a person or place. For the albino to be purring now meant he trusted Kanda fully, whether he knew it consciously or not.
The alpha decided to say nothing of this new development, not wanting to scare the younger. But it further cemented the thought that they were meant to be.
Golden eyes narrowed at the scene before him. It would seem that their 'faithful' general was working with the Lees after all, their 'pet' in the generals arms leaving no room for question. With a sick smile the man backed away into the shadows; his master was owed a report.
