Night had fallen on the Pridelands. The Pride were sleeping peacefully in the cave. It had been quite an exciting day, with the sinkhole, Elephant's Concert and Simba's new attitude towards Bunga.

Meanwhile Timon had awoken with a dry mouth.

Quietly getting up from where he, Pumbaa and Bunga slept, he quickly slipped out of their home in Hakuna Matata Falls.

Stars shined brightly over head as Timon strolled over to the stream and dipped for a drink.

Once he had his fill, he turned to go back, but noticed a tall figure walking passed.

Simba.

The golden, red maned lion walked with his head low and his eyes aglow. His steps were silent and his mane rustled in a stray wind.

Timon had never gotten a chance to talk to his friend after they had found them. It was so odd seeing Simba and Bunga getting along, but it filled both his and Pumbaa's hearts with joy to see it.

Timon quickly stood and raced after him.

"Hey, Simba!" He called catching the lion's attention.

"Oh, hi, Timon."

"I never asked if you were okay. That sinkhole was deep. You all right?"

Simba smiled, before sitting in the grass. "Yeah."

"What're you doing put here, anyways?"

Simba shrugged. "Taking a walk. Lot on my mind."

Timon rubbed his neck. "Listen, I gotta ask, kid, why the change of heart with Bunga? I mean just yesterday you wanted nothing to do with him."

Simba frowned as he looked up. "He, he reminded me of, well, me. Stubborn and prideful. It wasn't until Bunga mentioned us being raised by the same animals that I realized how similar we were."

"I could've told you that. Why were you so short with him before, then?"

The lion stood and walked a little ways. Something he did often when he was uncomfortable.

"I, I was jealous." He said.

Timon frowned. He knew that Simba wasn't exactly Bunga's biggest fan, but he never knew of his jealously towards the young honey badger. He just assumed that he thought Bunga was annoying.

"When you announced that you would be taking him in, I felt like I was being replaced. Felt like I was losing my dad all over again, and my uncle. I was jealous of him. I felt that since you had him, you didn't need to worry about me anymore. You had someone else to care for."

Timon stood shocked that Simba had referred him to as his father. Then he smiled as he walked over and jumped onto a stump nearby, before placing his hand on Simba's shoulder.

"I thought that you'd forgotten me. But now I see my stupidity. I was an idiot and jerk towards Bunga. I never should have been. He's a good friend to my son."

Timon smiled as he looked at the lion. The lion he helped raise from a cub, who was now the ruler of a kingdom.

"Simba, we would never forget you. I mean, sure you were a pain in the neck as a cub," Timon smirked.

Simba smiled, sheepishly.

"But we never loved you any less. We still love and care for you now. And we will always be there." Timon said, placing his hand on Simba's nose before hugging him. "Pumbaa and I will always love you."

The royal lion leaned in as a tear escaped his eye.

"Thanks, pop."

I think Bunga and the King was my favorite episode, mainly because of the relationship Simba shares with Timon and Pumbaa ans now Bunga. I was never a big fan of Bunga, but I think he can approve with his "big brother" Simba. Plus I wanted to do a little father/son shot with Simba and Timon.
