I don't own Wicked.

Elphaba sat quietly on the grass circling with her index finger the engraved name on the tombstone. She poured water into a vase. Removing the cellophane wrapper, she arranged a bouquet of daisies into it.
"Flowers for you, my dear," she said, sprinkling the remaining water atop the bouquet.
Looking up into the sky, the sun was setting. The golden rays peeked from behind the clouds.
Elphaba chuckled slightly and thought back of their first encounter. They hated each other. In the course of time though, feelings changed. How could they have been without the other?
"I'm sorry. I wish we could have had more time together. But if there is a paradise where you are, maybe you could save a place for me. I'll be there one day...some day with you."
Pulling out a tissue out of her dress pocket, she wiped her tears away. "We had no time to have said our goodbyes. But I know you are at peace, so I'll try not to cry."
She placed her right hand on her chest. "I'm hoping you took along memories of us, tucked in the alcove of your heart."
Elphaba stayed silent for a couple of minutes and bowed her head as if to say a silent prayer. She pulled a daisy out of the vase, twirling it between her thumb and index finger. "Show me a sign. Maybe a sudden gust of wind to show me that you're around. And that you're doing fine."
Feeling a hand on her shoulder, Elphaba jumped.
"Sorry, Fae," Fiyero said.
"You startled me. I thought it was...never mind."
"We'd better leave. It's not safe. We took a huge chance in coming back here. Someone might see us."
"She was my best friend. It's been a long time since we ran away. I had to come."
"I know. I know." Fiyero pulled Elphaba up, giving her a kiss on the forehead. "Come on, it's time to go. And it's going to be dark soon."
"Alright."
As they walked away, Elphaba turned one last time. "Goodbye, Glinda."
Fiyero turned. "I'll take good care of your best friend, you needn't worry. I won't let anything happen to her. And I'm so sorry. For leaving you. Forgive us. We couldn't tell you the truth. You'll always be in our hearts."
Elphaba hugged her husband. "She'll never be forgotten."
The End
