Something More For the Princess

Kouka Kingdom was covered in a blanket of rain when young Princess Yona and her friend Hak walked through the halls of the cold palace. She was excited to finally have a friend to talk to since Soo-Won was off doing lessons and her Father was busy with official business. Hak watched her as she started to skip ahead of him with a big grin on her face while humming a little medley.

"So, what're we doing anyways?" Hak asked after they reached Yona's room. He was dragged by the arm to sit with her on the ground.

Yona looked side to side before replying to him. "Tell me more about the Wind Tribe. I haven't been there before and you always complain that you have to travel a long ways to get here."

"The Wind Tribe?" Hak repeated with a raise of his eyebrow. "I thought you went to the Wind Tribe with the King when he went for that big official meeting."

Yona shook her head and puffed out her cheeks. "Father didn't want to bring me along because he thought that I would've been bored...If I was there you would've seen me too!" She said in a matter of fact tone.

"Well you're right about that. Nobody could over look you with that red hair of yours." Hak replied with a chuckle. He watched Yona's expression turn from happy to annoyed as she tried to smack him. But she couldn't land a hit because he had a good few inches on her even while they were sitting down on the ground. So he caught her tiny fists in mid air before they could even land on his body.

The cushion underneath Yona slipped, causing her to fall forward so she was laying on top of Hak. Giving a groan she didn't realize how close she was to him until she opened her eyes and saw him gazing up at her. She felt her face begin to redden with embarrassment as she quickly got up from on top of him and turned away to hide her blushing face.

Hak laid down on the ground a little longer. Processing what just happened to him, he realized in that moment how cute the Princess had become since the last time he saw her. Her small figure pressing down on him and her piercing eyes gazing down into his own made his head feel light and his heart began to flutter in chest. He propped himself up and felt the burning blush growing on his cheeks.

"S-Sorry bout that." Yona said in a embarrassed tone. "I didn't mean to do that."

Hak shook his head. "It's OK. No problem."

An attendant opened up the door and looked at the two children sitting on the ground with red faces. "Princess, your father would like to see you now. Master Hak, your Grandfather has requested your presence at the gate."

Hak and Yona looked at the attendant and nodded their heads simultaneously. When the attendant left, they looked at each other and started laughing.

"Guess you'll have to tell me about the Wind Tribe later." Yona said as she wiped away a tear from the corner of her eye.

Hak nodded his head. "Sure thing."

But as they parted ways from Yona's room, Hak stopped and watched her leave to join the King. He clenched at his heart and felt the blush return to his cheeks. He felt the warm sensation of desire run through his body and realized at that moment that he felt something more than just friendship for the Princess.
