My Heart I Surrender

Yato was drunk, and that was not a good thing. It had been rather difficult for him as of late due to the fact that Hiyori's memories of him and Yukine had started to fade. He was trying to forget her but it wasn't working, which resulted in him drinking copious amounts of alcohol until he had passed out. When he awoke from his drunken stupor with a rather stupid idea, he decided to go visit Hiyori.

He stumbled all the way to her front door and was confused when he saw no lights on. He looked around and realized that night had fallen. He shrugged and jumped up to her window and was hoping she had left it open and was pleasantly surprised to discover she had neglected to lock it. He stumbled inside rather noisily and found Hiyori asleep at her desk, books strewn everywhere. He stood over her and stared for a few minutes; she sighed in her sleep and mumbled something about school and exams.

He chuckled and walked over to her bed and grabbed a blanket and threw it over her shoulders. He leaned over and whispered something softly in her ear.

"Hiyori, I forevermore surrender my heart to you."

He straightened and turned to leave the room one last time. He was about to step outside into the cool night when she stirred slightly and she whispered "Yato". This stopped him in his tracks, he stepped down from the window and walked back over to the desk, he bent down and lightly kissed her forehead.

"I will see you again Hiyori; I can promise you that" and with that promise he left her to make his way back to Kofuku's where he could try and sleep in peace.
