Chapter 12

Boruto looked out from the window in his room in deep thoughts, it had been a week since the park and the idiotic Alpha he nearly killed, a week with him doing nothing but going to therapy, and trying to convince Shizune to talk with his father about his want to join in the Chunin exams, after all, if Boruto didn't join in then his team will be forfeited, and the Omega really couldn't live with himself if he forced Sarada and Mitsuki to join next year in the exams instead of this year like all of their friends are going to do. It had been a week since he last saw his father, and as much as it hurt him that his father was avoiding him, he was actually relieved that he didn't have to face the older man's disappointed face yet. But to say the truth Boruto had had enough, today was the day, after stewing in his thoughts for a whole week, he finally said fuck it, he was going to confess even if it killed him or made his father angry… he did talk with Sarada and prepared a small back bag if everything took turn for the worse...

Boruto sat on the sofa in his house, gazing at the TV that was on with a distant look on his face, just for the sake of appearing like he was busy with something and not lost in his thoughts. The sound of the door clicking open made him look up from his place to look at the door, holding his breath, letting out a relieved sigh when he saw his father walking through the door, frozen when he saw Boruto sitting in the living room.

The silence was awkward, both of them not knowing how to break it, and maybe they didn't know what to do with it, but Boruto had hoped that at least his father will not treat him like he was an outcast, that he may have done something wrong, but that he was redeemable. "Do you hate me?" Boruto finally asked, not being able to take in the silence anymore, that question made Naruto furrow his brows looking at Boruto with soft eyes.

"I could never hate you Boruto… I guess it was foolish of me to overlook the fact that you still needed more help than I thought." Naruto said as he came and took a seat beside Boruto on the sofa, which made the Omega relax a little and return his gaze to the TV trying to gather his thoughts.

"Of course… that's all I will ever be, the poor traumatized Omega that can't make his choices." Boruto grumbled to himself after a while of silence stewing in his dark thoughts, which made Naruto stiff and look at his son with a harsh look which made the Omega roll his eyes at that. "Don't give me that look, it's not like you haven't made it clear when you rejected me every time I made a move on you." Boruto didn't know what he was saying anymore, heart pounding loudly in his chest after he finally said those, words, Boruto knew that if he held them now, they will forever stay in his mind and not see the daylight, Naruto's wide eyes made Boruto's resolves harden.

"Boruto…" Naruto gave a soft warning, not wanting his son to say anything more because he knows that if he heard the small Omega's words now, it may scar them or change something between them deeply, and it was scary, Naruto was scared of something changing when it shouldn't, especially when Boruto didn't seem to know what his words will do.

Boruto just gave a dull smirk at that causing Naruto to let out the breath he was holding. "You know, at first I thought that you didn't notice me at all… that was until I remember Shizune's words when she said you were the best strategist, probably even better than uncle Shikamaru, and then I realized… you were ignoring me on purpose." Boruto looked at his father's clenched fists with interest looking at the Alpha's whose face became as hard as stone.

"Why now from all the times, you had to open that topic?" Naruto said those words slowly as he tried to get a grip on himself, gritting his teeth when he felt that even Kurama was silent, trying to avoid the conversation, something that Naruto couldn't do because doing that meaning breaking his son's trust more than he already will do.

"I guess I got tired from beating around the bush." Boruto shrugged looking at his father waiting for him to say something, do something, scream at him, or get out, but the Alpha did nothing other than sitting on the sofa looking at the TV with a blank look on his face, and that more than ever made Boruto's heartbreak.

"You know we can't Boruto." Naruto finally said which made the Omega bite the inside of his cheek and clench his fists tightly at that trying to stop himself from showing how to hurt he was.

"Of course, I know, after all, you are going to mate a perfect Omega, one that can have pups." Boruto spat which made Naruto freeze in his place and look at the Omega in shock, which only caused the Omega to smirk. "I understand after all we both know that Omegas who can't get pregnant are burden no one wants." Boruto said which made Naruto snap at that and growl as he stood up in front of Boruto making the Omega tense a little and stand up too.

"You know damn well that's not true!" Naruto snapped which made the Omega huff at that and cross his arms looking away from the Alpha. "You are a child Boruto!" Naruto continued which made the Omega hiss at him and take a threatening step toward him.

"I'm adult and we both know that!" Boruto snarled which made Naruto quit down to hear the Omega whose face turns red from anger. "It's just a 'Yes' or 'No' question! So you either tell me the truth or lie to me, I know what I'm! I know I can't have pups and that I have a grocery list of mental issues! But I'm getting better, I am… do you love me or not? just answer that question!" Boruto said feeling a little bit desperate hoping that his father will understand when Naruto turned his head away from him; the Omega felt his heartbreak and tried to hide his glassy eyes.

"We will talk when the exams are over…" Naruto said in a choked voice, rushing out of the room, leaving the Omega all alone. Boruto could do nothing but watch as his father left the penthouse leaving him alone, he tried to ignore the tears that wanted to be let out and he huffed a little rushing toward his room and slammed the door shut, planning on going to sleep earlier, not wanting to talk to anyone right now, especially Sarada who was waiting for a word from him…

He wanted to forget this nightmare…

"What's the problem though?" Sasuke asked as he took a sip from his Sake, looking at Naruto with wonder, it had been an hour since the blond Alpha came to drag him to the Hokage's office to talk about something urgent with him. Sasuke had expected something bad, but he never in one thousand years had expected Naruto to tell him about what Boruto said, though it shouldn't have surprised him after all the Omega had admired and cared for his father since he was young.

"What is the problem? He is a child, a traumatized one, Sasuke, that's the whole goddammit problem!" Naruto snapped which made Sasuke pause a little before he took another sip, humming absently as he was deep in thoughts; he then ended up looking at Naruto with a soft look in his eyes.

"We were children too when you confessed to me." Sasuke said gently, he could still remember when they were seventeen, the first time Naruto kissed him and confessed his love for him, and Sasuke was so happy that day when he knew that the person he loved shared his feeling, the Uchiha was planning to throw the whole reviving his clan to the wind if it meant being with Naruto… but in the end, life happened, and now… now Sasuke can't imagine his life without Sarada and Sakura in it… there will always be a part of him that will love Naruto unconditionally and Sasuke was happy that Sakura understood and support the two of them, it taught them how grown up and understanding Sakura was despite everything,

"That's different, Sasuke…" Naruto whispered harshly which made Sasuke lower his empty cup and look at the Alpha who was clenching his fits while glaring at the table that made Sasuke's lips twitch into a smile realizing what the Alpha refuses to see.

"It's not that different no matter how much you try and fool yourself Naruto." Sasuke said which made Naruto look at the Uchiha, who had a small amused smile on his lips. "What we went through… I know it can't be compared to Boruto's situation… but we were messed up too. We were children, traumatized ones, but still, in the end, we were able to find love, we didn't care about the consequence… you love who you love, it sucks, and it hurt, and you will wish death sometimes… but in the end, life goes on, and you have to choose your own path… Boruto is really not that different than you Naruto." Sasuke poured himself another drink as he looked at the Alpha who was lost in thoughts.

"I don't want to take advantage of him." Naruto's voice cracked as he said those words and it made Sasuke spare a sad thought of how long had Naruto thought of this, Sasuke sighed as he gently put his cup down gazing at the Alpha who was looking at the table.

"Just because Boruto had some mental issues, doesn't mean he doesn't know what he wants and what he doesn't want, your son is stubborn like you, in a few months he will bounce back." Sasuke took his cup from the table looking at Naruto from over the rem of the cup. "Besides I know you won't take advantage of the boy." Sasuke said as he took a sip, his words made Naruto look at him.

"And how do you know I won't?" Sasuke heard the desperation in Naruto's voice as he asked him that question, which made the Uchiha smile and put his cup down looking at Naruto in the eyes.

"Because by the end of the day, you know what it meant to be the little guy." Those words made Naruto blink a little pausing for a while to think over Sasuke's words. "Besides, it's about time you finally found someone you love; you are going grey old man." Sasuke said trying to lighten the mood, only getting a growl at the word 'old' thought the small smile on Naruto's face made Sasuke relax as he took a sip from his cup.

Everything will be fine…

The next day Boruto tried to drag himself out of bed, after all, he was going to Sarada's house today, planning on telling her what happened last night, and hope that she will give him refuge for a few days until he gathered his thoughts together. Boruto sniffed a little as he got out of his room hoping that his father was out so he can make himself a little breakfast and leave before his father returned.

As soon as Boruto left his room his jaw fallen a little as he looked around the place with wide eyes, after all, he couldn't believe what he was seeing. Every surface in the house was covered in vases upon vases full of flowers and roses from all kind, Boruto walked down the stairs with wide eyes taking everything in smiling a little at the calming scent, though his smile fell as he realized that the flower maybe for his father from one of his suitors.

On the coffee table sat a single blue rose which made Boruto frown a little, though he saw a note with his name attached to the rose, which made him blink his eyes a little and pick the rose opening the note. Boruto's eyes widen and a huge smile took over his face, a happy laugh left his chest as he looked at the flowers with eyes full of tears of joy… inside the note was only one word…

Yes…

In the end, things started looking up for them, after days of discussing what they wanted, Naruto starts courting Boruto, it was old fashion, but Boruto loves it nonetheless, the Chunin exams came and went, and to no one surprise, Boruto was appointed as a Chunin for his skills and smarts, after all, he was able to beat all the contestants, even Sarada who was still a little sore at that.

Day after day Boruto went to the therapy and was happy when Shizune told him one day that he had healed enough to have his appointment become once a month, something that he didn't think will happened, he still has his good days and bad days, but they are mostly good days now, considering that he was finally with the person who loved him.

And to Boruto's surprise and delight, Tsunade did, in the end, find a cure for suppressants over abuse, though it will take years of therapy for it to success, and Boruto was young, he had all the time in the word, which made Tsunade tease the small boy, and ruffle his hair talking about how she always wanted grandkids, which always made Boruto flush.

Boruto's relationship with Naruto, it may be slow in courtship but it was happy after all Boruto spent over eight years being in love with his father and thinking that he will never have his love, only in the end to gain it, everyone was happy for them, even if they thought it was odd, considering that after Hinata everyone thought that Naruto and Boruto will forever be single and die off without reviving the Uzumaki-Namikaze clans… the only one who was enraged by the news was Hinata and Himawari, but by now they weren't that much tolerated, considering that Konoha's laws did punish those who hurt Omegas now.

It has been years since that day his father told him yes, six years to be exact, and Boruto was buzzing in his skin, because after six years of therapy, Boruto is having his first hate in a decade, which was something he never thought he will have, but he was happy to finally be with his mate completely and maybe have the chance to have pups, and currently, they were in their bedroom, on Boruto's second day of heat.

Boruto sighed gently and nodded, as he shifted onto his back. He watched eagerly as Naruto moved into position on top of him, all his toned skin and toned musculature on display. Boruto bit his lip in anticipation and opened his legs, allowing Naruto to slot himself in between, Naruto leaned down to kiss Boruto on the mouth as he penetrated him, and Boruto moan was swallowed up in the kiss.

His entire world was Naruto. Boruto closed his eyes and let Naruto take him, holding onto his alpha as he made love to him. Naruto kissed wetly at his neck where their bonding mark was and gasped out his name. It always made Boruto a little crazy when his father will bite or kiss his bonding mark, it probably goes to his youth when his father told him about the meaning of the bonding mark.

The Alpha quickened his pace, thrusting harder. And Boruto dug his nails into Naruto's back, scratching him a little. He wanted to mark his Alpha, being a little possessive of his father ever since the Alpha starts courting him, the only thing that made Boruto growl was the marks healing in seconds of making them, but it doesn't matter because by the end of the day Naruto was his.

That thought had Boruto reaching his climax fast, and he cried out as he shuddered with pleasure under his Alpha. Naruto followed him soon after, moaning and burying his nose in Boruto's neck to breathe in his scent.

"I love you," he gasped out, pressing kisses to Boruto's skin his words making the Omega sigh in pleasure and happiness.

"I love you too." The Omega whispered back taking in the scent of his Alpha which only helped in relaxing him, making Boruto melt in the nest he made from his father's clothes and the sheets in the closet, smiling a little when his father groan and moved them to lay comfortable until his knot deflate. Boruto hummed as he cuddled into his father's embrace, smiling a little as his father kissed his forehead…

He was finally happy…

Sorry for the rushed ending, but it was either that or leaving the fic discontinued, I was really sad, when I didn't find any inspiration to continuing with the story, maybe one day I will return and write a sequel or something.
