A/N: This story is very short but the stargate time traveller gave me this idea when we were discussing whether or not Pippa was genuine in her offer of an scholarship for Mildred. I hope this shows my theory as to why Pippa was so nice to Mildred in particular. Enjoy.

Just Like Hecate

When Hecate introduced Mildred to Pippa, Pippa instantly felt like she had met the young girl before, of course she never had but there was something so familiar about her she could not put her finger on it.

When Pippa saw Mildred in her room that feeling came back again a strange feeling of familiarity, from the way the girl hunched over a book to the way she loved her cat and she even looked similar.

During the break of the competition when Pippa found Mildred looking so sad and lost it finally hit her, who shed reminded her of.

The young girl was just like Hecate. Long dark hair, dark eyes and pale skin but it was not just the girl's looks. The lost look Mildred was displaying was something that Pippa had seen in Hecate many times. It was a look she saw daily before they became friends and a look she saw whenever she had seen Hecate since their friendship ended.

She had to help the girl. She had failed with Hecate, she had not managed to make her happy but she had a second chance with Mildred. A chance to show her she was special and belonged which is why she offered her the scholarship. Having her close would help her be able to help this girl to ensure she felt that she was a true witch and could be proud of herself.

Both girls were lonely and sad deep down, they were treated differently and not quite able to ever fit in no matter how hard they tried. Seeing either happy was something that warmed Pippa inside. They both deserved to be happy and to feel happiness.

Mildred was just like Hecate whether the woman liked it or not. The two girls were one in the same.
