Hey there everyone! It's my fanfiction anniversary week! I have a story explaining how I'm celebrating. Go read that if you want the details. Anyway, if you read my update to warriors (my poem collection), I had a short explanation at the end. The same explanation inspired this Oneshot. I encourage you to read that before reading this to get the full understanding of this. Contains Christian themes. This is also based on a conversation I had with my mom tenish months ago.
"Master... Lloyd," Lloyd groaned and looked down at his shoes. Here he was. How was he supposed to lead this bunch?
Everyone was a mess since Wu's disappearance. Everything was a mess!
Lloyd climbed over clothes on his way to leave his room. When was the last time he had done laundry?
You can't do this Lloyd. You're not even breakthrough to do your own laundry. What makes you think you're responsible enough to lead the team.
You stink just as bad as your dirty laundry. You should quit now.
Who do you think you are?
Lloyd made his was to the kitchen and began to make himself some sleepy time tea. He needed to clear his head if he ever were going to sleep.
"Can't sleep?"
Lloyd spun around startled. Misako sat at the table drinking her own tea with a book in hand.
"No," Lloyd shrugged, "my brain won't turn off."
He finished making his tea and sat down across from his mother.
"How are you holding up?" Misako asked.
"I'm exhausted," Lloyd shrugged, "I don't think I can do this."
"Of course you can't," Misako spoke calmly.
"Mom! You're supposed to be encouraging me here! That isn't exactly encouraging!" Lloyd burst.
"Shhh! The others are sleeping. Let me finish. You can't do this, but God can. Do you know what Philippians four, thirteen says?"
"Uh, 'I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength,' right?" Lloyd yawned.
"Exactly. So, why don't you ask God to give you the strength to lead the team? I believe he will."
"Thanks Mom. I will," Lloyd replied. He bowed his head and asked God to help him. Raising his head once more, he felt reassured, like he could conquer anything that came at him.
"Better?" Misako asked.
"Much better. I feel much more at peace now."
Lloyd and Misako sat quietly, finishing their tea. Lloyd watched as Misako continued to read her book. Silently, he added one more prayer.
Thank you Lord for giving me such a caring mom to give me advice.
I hope you all enjoyed. I decided to make all of my one shots this week revolve around themes that have been going on in my life the past year. Today's was about doubt and how God has helped me overcome it. If you read Warriors like I requested you did, you'll know this story already, but here's the quick version for those who didn't: state swim meet, I doubt myself during warm up, God helps me through race, I get best time. Anywho, have an awesome day everyone! Thanks for helping me make two years on fanfiction!
