It's short, it's funny, I'm currently suffering Writer's Block on my Young Justice story 'Testing the Bonds of Friendship' so a ton of plot bunnies are bouncing around my head.
Disclaimer: I don't own anything.
It was rare when Barry would talk to Caitlin and Cisco about his CSI work, but when he does the the two leave in slight fear, a great amount of awe, and more interested. It's normally on slow days and barely any work when the conversations lead to that.
The stories about what he had to learn in college are some of the strangest and greatest.
"Wait, wait, wait," Cisco interrupted in disbelief. "So you had five days /just/ to learn twenty ways on how to kill someone with a toothbrush?"
"Yeah, he actually had to preform on testing dummies," Barry chuckled and nodded, an amused smile planted on his face.
"Dude, if I didn't know you as well as I do I would fear that you would be a /really/ good serial killer," The engineer then squinted his eyes suspiciously. "You aren't a serial killer, right?"
"Cisco!" Caitlin yelled, tone mostly scolding, but you could hear a hint of amusement.
The moment Barry stopped laughing he answered with a. "I'm not a serial killer."
"That's what a serial killer would say."
"Actually, most serial killers don't deny that they kill, but claim that they kill religiously or for a reason."
"What do they teach Forensic Scientists in college? Besides how to kill people with toothbrushes," Caitlin asked.
"If the killer is left or right handed, where they stood during the murder, if they had dandruff or nothing, stuff like that," The speedster explained.
"So can you, like, predict what the killer will do next?" Cisco eagerly asked.
"No," Barry shook his head. "Contrary to most's belief, that is Forensic Psychology. And they mostly figure out the killer's mind set and behaviors."
The two S.T.A.R Labs scientists nodded their heads.
"So can a Forensic Scientist actually be a serial killer?" The resident engineer asked curiously.
"A slogan I heard around class was 'Can't run fast enough to be a serial killer, so I'll just help the police catch them'," Barry gave an amused smirk and zoomed out of the Cortex with his super speed.
"I suddenly worry about the mental health of Forensic Scientists," Caitlin commented with a nod of agreement from her co-worker.
"So what did you tell them about Forensic Scientists today?" Joe asked in amusement as he walked into Barry's lab.
"I told them about the slogan the other college students joked around with."
"I have mixed feelings about that."
My BFF and I were texting and I came across a funny tumblr post and this idea appeared in my head. I hope you enjoyed XD.
I honestly want to be a Forensic Scientist, I always loved science and found Forensic Science and Criminal Psychology to be the most fascinating.
