Pokemon: Friends to the End

Chapter 103: Sleepless In Pre-Battle!

Denise and Barry were having a battle while Ash, Pikachu, Dawn and Brock sat down watching.

It was Denise's Vaporeon and Drifloon against Barry's Empoleon and Heracross.

"Now Empoleon use Steal Wing"Barry ordered. "Heracross use Horn Attack!"

Empoleon and Heracross rushed forward to attack.

"Vaporeon use Shadow Ball!"Denise ordered. "Drifloon, Will-O-Wisp!"

Drifloon used Will-O-Wisp on Empoleon while Vaporeon hit Heracross with Shadow Ball.

"No way!"Barry said in shock.

"Now it's our chance!"Denise remarked. "Vaporeon, Aurora Beam! Drifloon use Ominous Wind!"

Vaporeon fired Aurora Beam while Drifloon used Ominous Wind.

"Quick, Empoleon use Hyper Beam!"Barry ordered. "Use Pin Missile, Heracross!"

Empoleon fired Hyber Beam while Heracross fired Pin Missile.

The attacks of the four pokemon combined causing a big explosion.

When the smoke cleared it showed Vaporeon, Drifloon, Empoleon and Heracross were still standing.

"Your pokemon seem a little worn out, Barry."Denise taunted smugly. "Are you sure don't want to reconsider giving up?"

"No way! We're not done yet!"Barry snapped. "Neither me nor my pokemon have given up!"

"Right...I remember cowering in fear when we easily defeated your Roserade and Staraptor."Denise said in amusement.

"That was nothing!"Barry accused while pointing. "You just got lucky that's all!"

"Maybe you guys should focus on finishing the battle than just talking."Brock reminded with a nervous smile.

"Pika."Pikachu mumbled.

"Just how many minutes we have until to catch the next blimp, Dawn?"Ash asked.

Dawn checked her Poketch for the time and became alarmed.

"Not long at all!"Dawn panicked. "We need to catch it now!"

"Aw man!"Barry complained.

"I guess we have to pause our battle."Denise commented with a shrug.

Vaporeon, Drifloon, Empoleon and Heracross all frowned in disapproval.

Afterwards...

The heroes and Barry came just in time to get on a blimp before it started headed for Canalave City.

Ash, Denise, Dawn and Brock sat together while Barry sat in a separate table.

"Man!"Barry complained as he checked his poketch. "This blimp is so slow, I'm fining someone for boring me to tears!"

"Barry, relax."Brock instructed. "Why don't you come over here and look some on the scenery with us?"

"It's cool."Ash admitted.

"It feels good to take it easy."Dawn commented.

Ash looked out the window.

"Hey, isn't that Canalave City down there?"Ash asked.

Denise followed Ash's gaze and let out a small gasp.

"Whoa."Denise chuckled. "It is, Ash."

"Those islands are all part of Canalave City, right?"Dawn asked.

"Piplup."Piplup chirped.

Not long after, the blimp landed and the group came out.

"Hey Denise."Barry said. "How about we finish our battle after my training in Iron Island?"

"So your saying I am strong after all?"Denise questioned.

"Yeah, yeah, you're just a bit better than me."Barry stated and let out a confident smirk. "But listen up! Let me tell you who's going to take on the Pokemon League and become the Champion. You guessed right! It's going to be me! Anyway, I'm off to Iron Island and toughen up some more."

"Alright then."Denise responded with a nod. "Good luck, Barry."

"We're both going to get that Canalave Badge, so we got work to do."Ash complemented.

"Pika pika."Pikachu agreed.

"See ya, guys!"Barry responded and saluted. "You'll be shocked by my growth the next time we meet!"

Barry ran off while Ash, Denise, Dawn and Brock waved goodbye at him.

"Bye, Barry!"Ash said while waving.

"Take care of yourself!"Dawn commented and looked at Denise. "He sure is in a hurry."

Denise sighed. "No doubt about that."

A While Later...

The heroes began walking on one of the island bridges that brought them to Canalave City's Gym.

"We made it."Ash remarked. "Check out the Canalave Gym."

Dawn looked at Ash and Denise.

"Both your battles are coming up soon."Dawn said with a smile.

"And a shot at your sixth badge."Brock added.

"To think time is going so quick."Denise chuckled softly.

"Relax, Dennie. Those badges are good as ours."Ash assured excitedly and shouted. "HELLO!"

Ash's voice echoed into the Canalave Gym and nothing was heard.

"Uh oh."Ash said sadly.

"Do you think nobody is-"Dawn started.

Suddenly a man's terrified scream was heard which alarmed the heroes.

"Man that was some creepy scream."Ash said with a startled look.

"Pika."Pikachu agreed nervously.

The doors of the Canalave Gym opened causing Dawn, Denise, Ash and Brock to become nervous.

Then a tired man came out of the gym causing the heroes to rush up to him.

"Talk about scary."the man groaned.

"Excuse me, sir."Denise said. "What is it you we heard screaming just a minute ago?"

"Sorry that I scared you."the man apologised and rubbed his eyes. "But I was having a horrible nightmare."

"A nightmare?"Ash asked.

"Yeah."the man agreed. "I've been having nightmares every night when I first arrived here and I honestly didn't have a good night sleep in ages."

The man stretched and yawned causing the heroes to sweat drop.

"Well, we would like to have Gym Battle."Ash stated.

"Not possible."the man yawned. "You see, right now, the Gym Leader is doing some training on Iron Island."

Dawn, Denise, Ash and Brock became surprised.

"That's where Barry is heading to."Dawn complemented.

"That's the same place."Brock agreed. "I'm sure of it."

"Man not again!"Ash complained and face palmed. "How many times are we going to go to a Gym with no Gym Leader!?"

"Before we even realise."Denise replied in disappointment.

"Don't worry about it."the man answered. "We'll be back in a few days and I'll be sure to let you know that you're looking to have a battle with him..."

The man fell asleep and woke up again and then began screaming in fright causing the heroes to cover their ears.

"No falling asleep."the man groaned. "No falling asleep."

The man walked back into the gym while Dawn, Denise, Ash and Brock watched in confusion.

"What...was...that?"Ash asked slowly.

Afterwards...

The heroes walked in the shop area of the island as Brock checked his map book.

Ash looked down in sadness.

"It is what it is."Dawn admitted. "He's out of town and that's that."

"You know in times like these a bit of ice cream and some shopping would make me feel better."Denise remarked.

"That's a great idea, Dennie."Dawn agreed.

"Hey that's weird."Brock responded.

"What's weird, Brock?"Dawn asked.

"The guidebook says that this is the island's busiest shopping district but look around."Brock stated.

Dawn, Denise and Ash looked around and notice all the shops were closed and there was no sign of anyone.

"It's deserted."Dawn said.

"Look a police station!"Brock replied excitedly. "Officer Jenny would know the perfect place to shop! Why can't we ask her were? Jenny~ Jenny~"

Brock lovingly headed to the police station.

Ash and Dawn let out nervous chuckles.

Denise face palmed. "Oh brother."

Brock went inside the police station, where he found Officer Jenny fast asleep.

"Hi there, Jenny!"Brock greeted happily.

Officer Jenny woke up and nearly fell off her seat causing Brock to rush forward and prevent her from falling.

"Got you."Brock assured. "I trust you are alright now."

"Has there been an incident?"Officer Jenny asked tiredly.

"No."Brock responded. "Not exactly."

Dawn, Ash and Denise went inside the police station.

"That's good."Officer Jenny yawned and fell asleep. "And good night. Sweet dreams."

"But Jenny you have to tell us what's going on around here."Brock reminded.

The trainers sat down to listen to Officer Jenny.

"The thing is for some reason in a couple of days, every single person in this island has been having nightmares."Officer Jenny admitted.

"Huh?"Brock, Dawn, Ash and Denise said in unison.

"So you must be having them too."Dawn suggested.

"Right."Officer Jenny agreed with a nod. "Everyone's gone to other islands and that's why this one is so deserted."

"Do you have any idea why this is happening?"Ash asked.

"Yes."Officer Jenny answered. "The truth is we have a Darkrai in our midst."

This caused Brock, Dawn, Ash and Denise to become shocked.

"What?! Darkrai?!"Brock, Dawn, Ash and Denise said in shock.

"Yes."Officer Jenny agreed. "Every year, this time, a Darkrai pays a visit to our island, bringing nightmares with it for everybody."

"Every year?"Denise questioned with a startled look.

"Right."Officer Jenny replied. "However a Cresselia that lives nearby on Fullmoon Island shows up at the same time! Warding off Darkrai's dreams with its mystical powers. But for some for some reason, Darkrai decided to show up early this year and so far since there's no sign of the Cresselia, everybody's been having nothing but nightmares! And of course, it's obvious that no one's been able to get any sleep."

Brock, Dawn, Ash and Denise looked at Officer Jenny quietly.

"In desperation, I got a Lunar Wing to protect myself from bad dreams."Officer Jenny stated. "But I'm afraid it hasn't been working all that well..."

"I heard of those."Brock said with a smile. "They're actually Cresselia feathers."

Officer Jenny showed the heroes a green yellow feather.

"As you can see it's very pretty, but the nightmares keep going on and on."Officer Jenny responded.

Dawn took out her Lunar Wing pendant.

"I've been wearing a Lunar Wing feather that I've been wearing for a while."Dawn admitted.

"But what I want to know is, why isn't Jenny's Lunar Wing working?"Ash asked.

Brock walked up to Jenny holding a magnifying glass.

"Do you mind if I have a look at that?"Brock asked.

"Not at all."Officer Jenny answered and handed the feather to Brock.

"Thank you, let's see..."Brock said as he looked at the feather using a magnifying glass and gasped. "Jenny, this looks nothing more than a Pidgey feather that's been painted with lacquer! This thing is a forgery! A fake Lunar Wing!"

"No way!"Officer Jenny scowled angrily. "I paid good money for that! Nobody tricks me! Nobody! It's arresting time!"

Officer Jenny's eyes caught fire and she rushed out of the police station causing Dawn, Piplup, Brock, Denise, Ash and Pikachu to sweat drop.

"Let's follow her."Ash suggested.

"Okay!"Dawn, Brock and Denise said in unison.

Dawn, Piplup, Brock, Denise, Ash and Pikachu rushed out of the police station to go after Officer Jenny.

The heroes followed after Officer Jenny to a area where a few people shouting while standing outside a big tent.

"Over there!"Dawn said.

"Something is not right that's for sure."Ash commented.

Denise spotted a familiar trainer standing outside among the small crowd of people.

"Wait a minute...is that Lucas?"Denise asked.

"It is Lucas!"Dawn remarked and called out. "Lucas!"

Lucas spotted the heroes and Officer Jenny.

"Whoa, hey guys."Lucas greeted and yawned. "How you've all been?"

"We're fine, thanks."Ash answered.

"Pikachu."Pikachu agreed.

"Lucas, what are you doing in Canalave City?"Denise asked.

"To challenge the Canalave Gym, but the Gym Leader is not around."Lucas answered. "Now I am trying to get a Lunar Wing to try and get a good night sleep."

"Don't waste your money, young man!"Officer Jenny warned and looked at the small crowd of people. "I got a Lunar Wing and it's nothing but a fraud!"

This caused Lucas and the small crowd of people to become shocked.

The group went closer to listen to a conversation that was being heard inside the large tent.

"The only problem being our nightmare maker works so well that we've been having nightmares too."A female voice yawned.

"All the better for pulling all nighters and making Lunar Wings."A male voice said. "Just take a Pidgey feather and bend it, lacquer it up to make it nice and shiny! Ya end up wit a beautiful green money making machine!"

At that moment, Officer Jenny opened the tent which revealed Team Rocket disguised as business workers.

"So that's how you did it!"Jenny said in anger. "I heard every word!"

"Jenny!"Team Rocket said in shock.

"I am placing you under arrest!"Officer Jenny stated.

Team Rocket as they removed their disguises and began reciting their motto.

"Is that arresting development I hear?"

"Her inner rage rings loud and clear."

"On the wind!"

"Past the stars!"

"In your ear!"

"Laying down the law at a breakneck pace."

"Dashing due process, putting fear in its place."

"A Jenny by any other name's just as bad."

"In the name of OUR law, it looks like you've been had."

"Jessie!"

"And James!"

"Sleepy Meowth that's a name!"

"Putting law abiders in their place."

"We're Team Rocket!"

"In your face!"

"Wobbu wobbu!"

"Mime mime!"

"Team Rocket!"Ash snapped.

"The jig is up!"Officer Jenny warned.

"Your scheme to make everyone have nightmares so you can dupe them into buying fake Lunar Wings are through!"Brock retorted.

"Why don't they ever learn?"Dawn muttered.

"Because they are sadistic idiots that have nothing else to do."Denise insulted simply.

"Why do you twerps manage to show up and turn our dreams of fame and fortune into real nightmares!?"Jessie complained while stomping their feet.

"We've pulled more all-nighters in order to build this baby than you've been alive!"James admitted.

"Then, when we're done, our worst nightmare turns out to be you!"Meowth added.

"Why don't you save your whining for jail?"Ash suggested with a frown. "Pikachu use Thunderbolt!"

Pikachu fired Thunderbolt and blasts Team Rocket away.

"From one horrendous nightmare to another."James mumbled.

"If we can't sleep, the least we can do is get more air time."Jessie groaned.

"We're blasting off too soon."Team Rocket yawned and disappeared in the sky.

"Wow."Ash said. "To think all those nightmares were Team Rocket's doing all along."

"I guess that also means no Cresselia."Dawn complemented.

"At least the people will finally be able to get some sleep again."Officer Jenny remarked in relief. "Can't wait to have some good dreams."

"Why wait?"Brock flirted. "Look the dream you dream at night can also come true during the day if you'll only agree to take my hand!"

Croagunk poison jabs Brock causing the breeder to scream in pain.

"Then I'll get back to Croagunk."Brock groaned and collapsed on the ground.

"Does he do this all the time?"Lucas asked.

"More than you can image."Denise responded.

Croagunk dragged Brock away.

Later that Evening...

Officer Jenny gave the heroes dinner to eat.

"Thanks for dinner, Jenny!"Ash, Denise, Dawn and Brock said in unison.

"Pika Pika!"Pikachu remarked.

"Piplup!"Piplup agreed.

"Was that good?"Brock asked. "I can tell you, Jenny, you're one amazing chef."

"Well, since you solved the case of the phony stores and the nightmares, it's the least that I can do."Officer Jenny answered kindly. "I'm glad that you enjoyed it."

"Oh man...I'm stuffed!"Ash mumbled happily.

"I don't know why, but I'm feeling tired."Dawn admitted.

"I can barely keep my eyes open."Denise commented.

"Wouldn't it be nice if we could rest here for a bit?"Brock asked.

"Please do."Officer Jenny insisted. "I've got a comfortable room in the back and you're welcome to make yourselves right at home."

"That's great, thank you."Ash replied.

"Pika!"Pikachu cheered.

Later that Night...

The heroes were fast asleep in the room that Officer Jenny had for them.

Denise was having a nightmare causing her to toss and turn.

The nightmare was once again in the parallel world that had no people or a single sound being heard.

When Denise saw the face of the shadowy pokemon, it caused her to wake up and scream in horror just like her twin sister and everyone else.

Officer Jenny rushed into the room.

"Did you all have nightmares?"Officer Jenny asked.

"Yes and it was horrible."Denise answered while hugging a white pillow.

"All of a sudden, I found myself standing in a world of complete darkness, and there was this weird pokemon standing there with me!"Dawn explained in fright.

"That's my dream!"Ash admitted.

"Mine!"Officer Jenny stated.

"Mine too."Brock replied.

"I don't understand what it could be since we destroyed that awful nightmare machine."Officer Jenny commented.

"Hey, you don't think Darkrai has woken up do ya?"Ash asked.

"If it did, we've got to find Cresselia fast."Brock suggested.

"How do we do it?"Dawn questioned.

"We need to go to Fullmoon Island, isn't Officer Jenny?"Denise said.

"Right."Officer Jenny agreed. "Let's hurry!"

Afterwards...

Everyone got dressed and went on a boat to head straight to Fullmoon Island to get Cresselia.

"Fullmoon Island, dead ahead!"Officer Jenny announced.

"Fullmoon Island, where there the Cresselia is."Ash said quietly.

The boat slowly arrived into Fullmoon Island and the heroes it was surrounded by cliffs.

"Looks like the whole island is surrounded by cliffs."Brock admitted.

Denise placed a hand on one of the cliffs to feel it.

"They feel fresh."Denise stated.

"How are we supposed to get and up over them all?"Ash asked.

"That's how."Officer Jenny responded with a smile. "Everybody, look up ahead."

Ash, Denise, Dawn and Brock look up ahead and saw they were heading into a cave.

"A cave."Ash said.

"We'll make our way through there."Brock complemented.

A figure riding on a Floatzel was following the boat underneath the water.

Officer Jenny stopped the boat next to a block of stairs and the group got off.

"Wow."Dawn said as she looked at the cave. "Would you look at that."

"Pip piplup."Piplup chirped.

"The entrance to the island is up ahead."Officer Jenny admitted.

"Great, I'm going in."Ash replied.

"Pika pikachu!"Pikachu said bravely.

"We are right behind you, Ash."Denise assured.

The group began walking up the stairs and headed to the entrance that lead to the outside of the cave.

"When it comes time for Darkrai's visit, it's said that the Cresselia will perch itself on a little shrine on top of the cliffs."Officer Jenny explained while holding a lantern.

Ash sees a small light glowing beneath a pile of rocks.

"Look at that!"Ash said and walked forward.

Ash picked up the object that hid in the rocks which revealed to be a Lunar Wing.

"I think it's a Lunar Wing."Ash said and handed the feather to Brock.

"Yep, this is the real item."Brock responded while checking the Lunar Wing with his magnifying glass. "It seems to me that Cresselia must've dropped it here and not too far in the distant past either."

"That means the Cresselia must've come to the island."Dawn answered.

Piplup sniffed the Lunar Wing.

"Piplup!"Piplup chirped.

Piplup went off of Dawn's shoulder and goes in a direction.

"Piplup's got the scent."Dawn stated.

Piplup stopped running when he picked up a scent.

"There, Piplup?"Dawn asked.

"Piplup."Piplup answered proudly.

A Psyduck emerged from the ground causing the Penguin Pokemon to become frightened and for the group to sweat drop.

"It looks like Piplup picked up a Psyduck's scent."Denise said with a shrug.

"Wrong scent."Ash mumbled.

Dawn sends Swinub to track Cresselia's scent.

"Swinub swin!"

"When it comes to tracking scent, Swinub rules."Dawn chuckled and took out her Lunar Wing. "Swinub, I need you to use the scent of this Lunar Wing to find Cresselia."

"Swinub!"Swinub remarked and sniffed the Lunar Wing.

Swinub began to lead the group the way to Cresselia.

"Looks like it's hot on the trail."Dawn commented.

"Let's stay close behind."Ash suggested.

Denise took out Drifloon from her pokeball.

"Drifloon!"

"Drifloon follow Swinub closely, okay?"Denise instructed.

"Drifloon."Drifloon said with a nod.

Swinub continued sniffing the ground while moving while Drifloon went next to him.

The Pig Pokemon easily jumped on the rocks while Drifloon floated passed them.

Ash and Brock dropped the ground in exhaustion while Denise let out a sigh of exhaustion.

Drifloon went up to Denise.

"Drifloon."Drifloon responded.

"We need to climb on the rocks."Denise mumbled. "Thanks for the warning, Drifloon."

"I think Swinub found something!"Dawn announced.

Everyone notice a shrine with a crescent moon on it.

"Jenny, is that it?"Ash asked.

"Sure is."Officer Jenny agreed. "We're standing in front of Cresselia's shrine."

Suddenly a beautiful sparkling light emerged from the sky and Cresselia comes down, amazing the group.

"I can't believe, it's Cresselia!"Brock said in astonishment.

"What a beautiful pokemon."Dawn whispered.

"It sure is, sis."Denise agreed as she took out her pokedex.

"Cresselia the Lunar Pokemon."Denise's Pokedex said. "On nights around the quarter moon, the aurora from it's tail extends and undulates beautifully."

Suddenly a net caught Cresselia, sending the Lunar Pokemon down.

"Cresselia is trapped!"Ash said.

"Oh no!"Officer Jenny gasped.

"Come on!"Denise protested.

Officer Jenny and the heroes began to rush forward to free Cresselia, but Team Rocket's mecha blocked their way.

"Of course, it was Cresselia we came to take."Jessie stated.

"But Pikachu is icing on the cake."Meowth admitted smugly.

"You never change, do you!?"Ash growled.

"Pika Pika!"Pikachu snapped.

"Of course we do!"Meowth laughed evilly and pressed a button. "Now we're beating you!"

The mecha fired out nets that captured Officer Jenny and the heroes.

Denise held Drifloon safely in her arms.

"Aw, catching old and new friends warms my heart."Jessie giggled.

Cresselia, Pikachu and Drifloon glared at Jessie.

Robotic hands appeared out of Team Rocket's mecha.

"Alright, Pikachu use Thunderbolt!"Ash ordered.

"No! Ash!"Brock shouted. "Don't do it!"

Pikachu fired Thunderbolt, only for him to zap Ash and himself.

"Never thinks before taking action."Denise mumbled.

"Drifloon."Drifloon sighed.

(Drifloon's Translation: And that's why you still like him.)

"Nice shot!"Jessie cackled.

"Past experiences taught us one thing!"James stated. "Keep your attacks to yourselves!"

The mecha hands reached out to grab Pikachu and Drifloon.

Swinub uses Take Down to stop the mecha hands from grabbing it's friends.

"Swinub!"Dawn called out. "No!"

"Piplup!"Piplup shouted.

"Swinub!"Swinub responded and stood up.

"Okay, then!"Dawn answered. "Swinub, go in with Take Down, quick!"

Swinub rushed forward to use Take Down, but the mecha hand didn't break.

"Naughty little pokemon."James taunted.

Swinub used Take Down again and again and none of the mecha hands broke.

Dawn watched he ice ground type pokemon in worry.

"Stop! Swinub!"Dawn protested. "That's enough! Please!"

Swinub ignored Dawn and stood up.

"Hey!"Meowth growled. "Since you don't want to listen to your twerp, I'll help you with this gentle pat!"

Meowth hits Swinub with a robot arm.

"SWINUB!"Brock, Dawn, Denise, Ash and Officer Jenny shouted out.

Swinub was hurt, but then starts to glow.

"Swinub!"Dawn gasped.

"It's starting to evolve!"Brock stated.

Everyone watches as Swinub evolved into Piloswine.

"Whoa, amazing!"Dawn remarked.

"Piplup!"Piplup chirped.

"Check it out!"Denise chuckled.

"Drifloon."Drifloon cooed.

Ash, Pikachu, Brock and Officer Jenny smiled in amazement.

"That's a twerp pokemon?"Jessie questioned.

Dawn took out her pokedex.

"Piloswine the Swine Pokemon and the evolved form of Swinub."Dawn's Pokedex said."Piloswine's entire body is covered with fur, which makes it hard to see, so it uses it's nose to sense it's environment instead."

Piloswine stomped towards Team Rocket's mecha and let out a angry cry.

"So what if your now big, tough guy?!"Meowth snapped and made the mecha gain three extra arms. "Let's see how you deal with this bad boy!"

Suddenly a Floatzel jumped forward and destroyed the arms using Focus Punch which shocked Team Rocket.

"A Floatzel?"Ash said in confusion.

"Pika?"Pikachu asked.

Floatzel landed next to Piloswine.

"Well done, Floatzel!"Lucas chuckled.

Lucas rushed forward and went next to the group.

"Lucas!"Denise remarked. "You made it!"

Floatzel looked at Piloswine.

"Floatzel."Floatzel suggested.

Piloswine nodded and rushed toward the mecha using Take Down, making the machine get destroyed and send Team Rocket flying.

"So is this a real blast off is it just a dream?"James asked.

"A dream? Who knows?"Jessie said. "Perhaps it would help if Meowth and I pinched a few cheeks."

"Well, I'm game!"Meowth agreed.

Jessie and Meowth pinched each other's cheeks.

"No dream!"Jessie and Meowth panicked.

"AND WE'RE BLASTING OFF AGAIN!"Team Rocket screamed and disappeared in the night sky.

Lucas and Floatzel removed the nets that were on the heroes and Officer Jenny.

Dawn rushed up to Piloswine.

"Piloswine!"Dawn giggled in joy. "I can't thank you enough for saving us!"

"Piplup."Piplup chirped.

Piloswine gave a happy respond.

"No matter what likes ahead, we'll face it together."Dawn assured.

Ash, Pikachu, Lucas, Floatzel, Denise, Drifloon, Officer Jenny and Brock smiled at the sight.

"Hey Lucas, thanks for coming to help us."Ash stated.

"Pikachu."Pikachu replied.

"No surprise for me."Denise commented. "You are a trustworthy guy."

Drifloon snuggled on Denise's cheek.

"Hey, no big deal."Lucas answered and rubbed the back of his head. "I didn't want you guys being left in trouble."

Floatzel smirked. "Floatzel."

"So what do you say we go help the Cresselia now?"Officer Jenny asked.

"Right."Brock agreed with a nod. "Great idea."

The group removed the net that Cresselia was trapped in.

Cresselia lifted up into the sky as it glowed beautifully causing the group to watch in amazement.

"It's so pretty."Dawn said.

"Amazing."Lucas complemented.

"Cresselia, I'm begging you, please save the people of Canalave City from all of their awful nightmares."Officer Jenny begged.

Cresselia let out a cry and headed to Canalave City to cleanse the city from nightmares.

"Cresselia!"Ash called out.

"Is it going to Canalave City?"Denise asked.

"It looks like that it is exactly where it's headed."Brock responded.

"Come on."Officer Jenny stated. "Let's go as well."

A Moment After...

The group took the boat back to Canalave City to follow Cresselia, to where the remains of Team Rocket's Nightmare Machine was.

Cresselia stopped in a area surrounded by trees, where Darkrai emerged from the shadows.

"It's Darkrai!"Everyone said in unison.

Lucas took out his pokedex to scan Darkrai.

"Darkrai the Pitch Black Pokemon."Lucas's Pokedex beeped. "Legend has it that on a moonless night, Darkrai will lure people to sleep and unleash nightmares upon them."

"Of course!"Ash said. "Then it was Darkrai after all!"

"Right."Officer Jenny replied. "But why did it show up now?"

Denise frowned in curiosity.

Officer Jenny notice the remains of Team Rocket's Nightmare Machine.

"Look at that!"Officer Jenny admitted. "It's what's left over of Team Rocket's Nightmare Machine!"

"It's all starting to make sense!"Brock answered."Darkrai's here now in such an unusual time because the electro-magnetic waves from the Nightmare Machine must've lured it here!"

Cresselia and Darkrai began fighting each other.

"Well that's just creepy."Denise complemented.

"But that doesn't really explain on why Cresselia is here."Dawn said.

"Maybe Cresselia came to help the people of the island since it sensed they were in danger?"Lucas suggested.

Cresselia let out a bright light which leads Darkrai to retreat.

"Cresselia, thanks so much."Officer Jenny admitted.

The Lunar Pokemon let out a cry and returned to the night sky in a flash of light causing the group to wave it goodbye.

"Wow, I wonder where Cresselia is heading to next."Dawn wondered.

"Yeah, me too."Officer Jenny added. "Probably somewhere we never even heard of."

Cresselia disappeared in the night sky, leaving colourful sparkles in the sky.

"Thanks to Cresselia, everyone will be able to get a good night sleep."Brock explained.

"And dreams to give them comfort without a doubt."Lucas remarked.

Denise looked down with a troubled expression.

Cresselia did defeat Darkrai, but that didn't mean the nightmare she has been recently having was not going to go away.

"What does that awful nightmare even mean?"Denise thought.

Ash smiled at Pikachu.

"Get ready cause Canalave Gym battle training starts."Ash admitted.

"Pika pikachu!"Pikachu said with a smirk.
