Chapter 22: There Was A Third

The day went by for Kim slowly, with the fact that she and Ron had detention yesterday didn't help out with making the mood better. If there was something that'd take her mind off of things, it would've been nice for her.

Kim wanted to know if Ron was showing up for school today, knowing him, he wouldn't be scared off so easily. He'll just walk this off and treat it indifferently.

So why wasn't he here?

No one else knew about the attack, since Monique was tight lipped about it, there wasn't a reason to worry. But rumors do have a tendency to spread around, like Kim and Ron were 'fighting' but not in the perspective she knew. All they knew was that Barkin caught them both and there was a story of a piggyback ride/rodeo. If anything it was more like they were playing too much… almost like two people in a relationship.

Kim was quick to shut all of that down, there was nothing going on between her and Ron. Adding the fact that she's currently dating Josh had provided substance, considering Ron hooked the two up together.

The day still kept going on, another lecture about whatever topic that goes through, but even as she takes notes of it all, there was something else she worried about: her father.

She didn't catch him this morning, he did say a few days back that he had to arrive early at work for a scheduled event, seems like that day is today. With his event and Ron's disappearance… it couldn't be a coincidence, and her body shuddered thinking about it. With her father's testimony towards the dealings that his job inadvertently made, she couldn't risk it.

School was probably a secondary thing to him, it didn't matter if he'd graduated or not. Full-Time Assassin, sounds like a line of work where he would get paid the big bucks.

Before she could think of the matter further, her Kimmunicator beeped.

"What's the sitch, Wade?" Kim asked.

"I've been looking at this bounty you've been talking about, checking out the Middleton Space Center, the bounty came as research money."

"But that's not the only thing, is it?" She questioned. Knowing that, her intuition told her there's more to this story than it let on.

"I've checked out the date on when the money was sent and cross referenced it with murders or accidents that occurred two weeks prior. I also had a hunch that the murder occurred in Middleton so it narrowed the search. Some of the murders I found that happened during that time, but none of them received that kind of money, also they weren't employed at the Space Center at all. But I've found something… and you're not gonna like it."

Wade pulled out a file for her to see, and read it over, causing her stomach to drop and her heart to break. "What?" She mumbled to herself.

"This was an accident that happened within the time frame. Apparently a family of three was coming home from a circus, based on what they recovered at the scene. The parents were still young, but they didn't make it."

Kim couldn't even speak, she tried to squeak a word out, anything that could've stopped and answered all of this.

"And the third?" She had a feeling on who the third was, and it was haunting her.

"Apparently the third, was a five-year old boy, he survived the crash. But according to police records, a legal guardian or maybe a godparent, they… they took him and… that's about it. Nothing much in the file that happens afterwards."

Kim paced back and forth still trying to take all of this new information in. Despite all of that, it didn't sit right with her. "But what about the case?" She blurted. "They had to at least do something!"

Wade sighed, considering the words of his friend. "They investigated it as a 'hit-and-run' incident. But after a couple weeks, the case went cold and was actually ruled as an accident. Given the location of it, they can easily say that the victims lost control of the car. They scrapped it thanks to a lack of evidence."

Kim finally had the answers to it: Ron's motive. His pain, where it all stems from. But all of that was pushed to the side when Wade saw an alert on his computer.

"Hey, we've got a problem, an unidentified, unauthorized aircraft is making its way towards Middleton now. Take a look." Wade showed Kim what looked to be a small red and black jet.

"You think it's one of Drakken's plots?" She asked.

"No, there's something more to this, more ominous. Whoever's doing this, this is gonna be more than just our usual thing I ran an algorithm on the projected flight patterns, most likely, you'll intercept them in this area marked."

"Alright, I'm going to check it out." The heroine quickly makes her way, towards the location… and as she checked out the marked area, she couldn't help but notice that it was close to somewhere important.

The Space Center.

As Vivian was preparing to sabotage the good doctor, since he's already done a good job of that himself, Ron began to prepare himself for the attack, while he wanted to find something that constituted as a weapon like a screwdriver or maybe a small hammer. But for the time being, he'll have to settle for his bare hands, which wasn't a bad thing.

Venturing into Porter's lab, he sees a contraption cloaked in a white blanket. Lights emanating from computers and wires had caused it to glow underneath.

Curious as to what it was, he peeled back the cloth and to his marvel saw something quite abnormal. "What do we have here?" Ron mumbled. His hand was still on the cloth as he looked closer.

It was an Android, clothed in dark blue suit pants, with a dark blue jacket that read something that Ron couldn't make out, maybe a serial number. "VFP-032507? Hmm."

His eyes were directed towards the screen which read in captions 'Oliver 2.0'. "2.0? That means you're not the first." He never thought making a real life robot was actually possible, he would see some of this stuff in movies and they're not portrayed in a good way. Last thing he would want is a whole army of Oliver 2.0's ripping everyone apart. But that's just a movie, it wouldn't actually happen, right?

"I wonder if this was the thing Dr Porter wanted to show me?" He asked, looking around the lab.

"It was." A voice spoke from behind him, causing him to turn around. "An Android with artificial intelligence. A living, walking database of knowledge. A computer taking the form of an actual human being, and the best part is that no one will be able to tell the difference." Vivian stated. From the sound of her voice, Oliver 2.0 is her crowning jewel, a testament to her intellect. Something that she was proud to flaunt.

"So you made an android, what is it designed for exactly?" Ron examined the creation closely, looking to see if there's anything of use.

"Well, he can be many things to me. A bodyguard, an assistant to my inventions, a ruse for others to believe that he's my lover, he's a lot of things."

Not wanting to delve into the 'lover' part, he asked something else. "Is this what Fen's gonna show to the public?"

"Nope, something else. But it won't matter after today." She paused for just a moment, feeling jitters about all of this, to her it was like committing one sin in order to absolve her from the rest. "Fen knew. He knew how smart I was, how capable I was when he hired me. The more I think about it, it was like he was… desperate."

"Fen's a parasite." Ron said sternly. "He needs someone to leech on every now and then." He paced around, taking a look at his watch, Fen's little presentation was happening any moment now.

"Yeah, but it felt like it was something more. I mean, has a worker here ever got a free vintage car? I'm pretty sure that no one else but me has?" Vivian confirmed something Ron thought about. The car was the key to finding the killer, and she just narrowed the list of suspects. "I should've known, I should've known better than to do stuff like that… but how do you say no to finally getting the career you worked so long and hard for?"

Ron didn't want to answer, perhaps he was expected to take pity, maybe he wanted to show indifference or frustration. Out of all of that, he chose to be none of the above. He walked to a table and found a screwdriver. 'Should be good enough for a throwing knife.'

Both of them turned to hear footsteps, the sound of hands rubbing together in anticipation only filled them with a small amount of ire, once they saw who it was.

"Ah, Dr Porter… I feel that this is a pivotal moment for the space center. Finally, my… er… our work will bring everyone one step closer to a prosperous future, for all of us. I must get going, it's time."

Fen drowned in his own egotistical moments, failing to see Vivian's false smile laced with disgust, or Ron's murderous glare. The assassin had gripped his screwdriver tighter, he desired to stab this old bastard's eyes out even more.

As he took his leave, Ron turned his head toward Vivian. "Is it ready?" He asked. His voice carried a calmer tone.

"Yes." She answered. Ron responded but exhaling and leaving the room. It left Vivian to her emotions. There was something suspicious, something frightening that threatened her existence. She couldn't say for sure that it was Ron, but the young doctor would not take any chances.

She took off the cloth that disguised the newly made android, and used its computer. If all hell breaks loose, she needs to be prepared.

She needed to be ready.

Kim patrolled the outskirts of the center to find where this mystery person landed. So far, she was on the rooftops, gaining a birds eye view of the parking lot nearby. Nobody was in it, a couple cars coming in and out, with security checking the people. For now it seemed safe enough.

The redhead couldn't find anyone of interest yet, but she did find something that didn't belong, a bag. "What's this doing here?" She asked herself. Curious as to what it contained, she opened it to reveal the contents… which was all too familiar to her.

A sword, a couple shuriken, a half face mask. No one else but Ron would have this stuff. She took the sword out, wanting to see the sheath and the craftsmanship of the blade. It's bad enough that she had to deal with one trespasser, but now she had to deal with him, of all people?!

She could only sigh in content, missions never go perfect. There's always a curveball just waiting for her. Slowly, she took out the blade from the sheath, examining the shiny steel reflecting the sun's rays. She noticed how intricate it was, the serrations, the cutouts, the carvings and a harrowing red reflection of someone. The last part caught her off guard, she turned around, with her instincts telling her to draw the sword from its sheath and protect herself.

To her surprise no one was there, she exhaled and calmed her nerves. Which was going to be a mistake on her part, she turned her head to the side and saw a fully uniformed individual. Clothed in red, similar to a Global Justice outfit, yet with deviations that range from improved wrist guards to masks. What stood out to her was the Greek uppercase letter that was plastered on the left side of the torso. "Sigma?" She said with surprise.

Sigma had grabbed Kim by her shirt and threw her across the roof. Getting up from that violent gesture, she took a fighting stance and started with a left leg kick which landed. She then attacked Sigma with a jab, then a cross. The jab only landed, the villainous agent dodged the last strike and performed a roundhouse kick, to Kim's torso, which landed and caused her to stagger back.

Sigma put her in a clinch, where both of his hands grabbed the back of her neck, he then planted a knee, right on the ribs and whipped her to his left side, tripping her to the ground, only for her to use her athleticism to perform a backflip and attain distance.

So far Kim was on the defensive, it was time to fight back. She dropped Ron's sword and chased towards him with a flying knee that attacked the chest. Kim then attacked the assailant with a left elbow, grabbed him and kneed him twice, as she pushed him away, the redhead closed the distance enough to perform a two touch spinning side kick, attacking the body. Still having the upper hand and the momentum, Kim then performed a left uppercut, then a right hook, a left hook, with a cross to finish.

Kim looked at Sigma, believing that he took enough blows to be staggered, she took a couple steps forward and swung her body to perform a two touch spinning side kick, which was effective in knocking him down. 'Heh, this is no big.' Kim thought to herself, maybe this dude wasn't as tough as she thought.

Sigma got up, cracking his neck and dusting off his uniform slowly, as if the attack had done nothing but get him dirty. He slowly walked forward to Kim, wanting to attack, yet showing an odd amount of discipline at a time like this.

Kim raised a brow, but she geared herself to perform another assault. She did a jab, then a cross, switched her legs and did a roundhouse kick to his torso. She then focused on performing lower body hooks and uppercuts in order to has him out and damage the ribs, but something was off… eerily off.

Even as Kim did the combinations, the assailant had not flinched upon the blows. Never bothered to touch and soothe any of the damaged areas or even let out a yelp of agony. He just stood there, towering over her. The redhead balled her fists tighter and punched him square in the jaw, he didn't bother to block or evade the attack, he took it head-on, not even his head snapped back.

She fought enough to ensure that Sigma felt pressure and lose his balance, so he wasn't immovable. She looked at him as if he was some sort of dark miracle. Something to revel and yet, something to fear. "What are you?" She whispered. Yet Sigma responded with a quick body blow to the stomach.

Ron had successfully blended in with the crowd, waiting for the professor to take the stage. A woman came upon the stage, delivering a lovely introduction to all of the people here, as always, such speeches dragged on to a point where he couldn't be bothered to pay attention to it all.

"Ladies and Gentlemen, I'd like to present to you, one of our veteran robotics scientists, Dr. Fen." The people had applauded him like mindless sheep, loving the character he dared to play.

"Thank you. Haha, thank you all. What a day it is for all of us here huh?" Fen boasted, enjoying the time he has in the spotlight. "Ladies and Gentlemen, what is it about the mind that makes it unique? People always say the best weapon, or tool that you can have on your person is the mind. To that I say, what if there's something that does more than just 'keep up' with our thoughts? Personally leading the robotics division along with collaborating with other scientists, we have achieved something that we would've all believed to be possible in science fiction movies. With the use of nanotechnology, we have created a little project that changes the world as we see it. Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you… project Centurion."

Fen unveiled what looked to be a pale violet band. To everyone, it was just a bracelet, but when the doctor placed it on it changed into a cybertronic armor that covered him gradually. The people applauded once more, seeing such an invention do something so surreal.

From the corner of his eye, Ron saw Vivian, it seemed as if she was holding her phone, with a finger hovering over a button, waiting for a signal. Ron simply shook his head, saying that it wasn't the perfect time. Fen has the armor on, it would be hard to kill him, and easier for the doctor to escape. So the only thing they could do is ride it out, let the doctor speak a little more.

"Biometric capabilities, self-repair, sentient armor and automated systems. This is a-must for any individuals in law enforcement or military overseas. Now this is the only one in existence, mind you, so there shouldn't be too much of a worry of mass production." The armor receded from his body and reverted back to its original state. Seeing that the old man is vulnerable now, it was time.

Ron turned to Vivian, nodding his head, making it the signal to make the move. Vivian pressed the button without hesitation and Ron remained still, not making any unnecessary movements until the time called for it. He still had the screwdriver. Luckily, no one didn't see it on his person. Yet, a certain rocket scientist was looking at the crowd and picked him out. Why was that? It was because out of all the individuals there, they were middle aged, yet he was the only was who was young, aside from Dr Porter. So what was he doing in a place like this… he doesn't seem like someone who works here.

Somehow the projector wasn't showing the intended presentation for Fen, rather it showed a slideshow of pictures, from a scholarship forgery, to several underworld dealings. As those slideshows presented itself, a recording played in the form of a phone call that happened between him and an associate familiar to him.

His eyes were in shock and disbelief, he had to do something to shut this down. "It ah… appears that we have some technical difficulties, I apologize. If you'll excuse me…" he quickly walked away from the stage. From there, Ron was to keep a close eye on him, so he walked from the presentation to make his way to Vivian. Even as that happened, James kept an eye on it all, the presentation, the young blonde and Dr Porter, yet he couldn't figure out what was happening specifically.

"I hope you know what you're doing." Vivian mumbled.

"Oh I know." Ron responded. He went into a nearby lab and took one of the lab coats nearby and put it on, along with a face mask. Outside, he heard quite the murmurs and whispers upon Fen's credibility, with every new image shown and every word spoken on the presentation. Fen's reputation was deteriorating, as he walked to a separate room and began to make a phone call.

"Damn it, pickup already!" Fen panicked. "Argh, this has all gone to hell!" He fumed. Ron with the screwdriver in hand, burst in the office door and threw the screwdriver towards Fen's thigh, which effectively stabbed him, causing him to fall to the ground, losing grip on the phone. "Ahh!" He yelps as he looks at his wound.

"Hell?" Ron said while walking up to him. "You don't know the half of it." He goes to drive the screwdriver deeper into the wound. Twisting and plunging the tool even further. That wasn't enough to satisfy him, so right then and there he began to do the one thing that ran through his mind: torture.

Kim was pushing Sigma back with everything she had right now, it was looking to work, but every time she landed a strike, he would shrug it off like it was nothing. She sees the adversary looking to the left, at the window of the entrance and seeing several things that would've made his commander unhappy; so it was no wonder that he was ordered to 'tie up a loose end'.

His attention no longer on Kim, he ran to the window at full speed and crashed into the building, falling down to the shock of many, meanwhile he threw something at the crowd, not explosives, but rather tear gas. It causes the crowd to disperse and run to the nearest exit.

Kim followed suit, but she had two things on her person: Ron's mask and his sword. She did not know why she was carrying it, perhaps if Ron was there, he would help out in some way, despite their differing views. Whether she wanted to admit it or not, she could definitely use his help.

Sigma had stopped for a moment in order to look at the area, searching for something or someone. It was apparent that out of all the sounds of screaming and coughing, a loud crash was heard outside of the area. Then his eyes went straight for Doctor Porter who ran off into her office, desperately typing into a computer, desiring to activate something and get out of the area.

From that point it seemed that her own creation had finally awakened. The eyes formed a blue ring rotating clockwise, indicating that its fully loaded. Before Vivian could walk away, she felt a firm hand grab her arm and push her away. She fell to the ground, trying to get up. Before Sigma could go any further, he was placed in a chokehold and thrown across the room. Recognizing that his creator was in imminent danger. Oliver charged at Sigma tackling him into another room, leaving Vivian alone in her office. "This is crazy!" She said.

Seeing an android and her enemy fight, it would be an idea for her to find Ron in that other room. Yet how could she find them? Well it's easy: follow the screams of agony, and the sounds of flesh being flayed and beaten.

Kim had found the room she looked for and was she saw was quite shocking. Ron was viciously attacking Fen, an elbow to the temple, along with slamming his head to the walls and throwing him across the room. He would even walk towards the broken and battered body of Fen, his right eye completely shut and swollen, a gash opening on his left eyebrow, a busted lip, following with missing teeth that was scattered all over the room. His lab coat sprinkled and decorated with blood. His labored breathing can only suggest one thing, the doctor could barely take the beating any longer and he'll soon succumb to death because of it.

Ron grabbed Fen by his lab coat and got close to his face, but then he sensed that someone else was watching him. He looked to the entrance and saw the redhead once again. "Stay out of my way, Red! This is between me and Fen!"

Kim has remembered Josh's words prior to the encounter. Sometimes fighting isn't the way to go about it, diplomacy can be a solution. She prayed it would work for this. "I know why you're doing this…" she started. "Why you wanna hurt him, why you kill… I know what he did to your parents!"

This struck a chord in Ron's nerves, Kim had dared to snoop in his business and try to play the mind game. Normally he would've kept his composure, but this was a moment he waited for. He waited and waited until he was done. This was it… why would he be stopped now? He chuckled. "So you figured it out, huh? You think you know everything, but you don't! I lost everything, because of his greed, because someone wanted them dead and for what?!" The conversation went back and forth, with Kim trying to find a hole in where she can win this one.

"I know what you want."

"You know what I want?!"

"You want Fen to see justice."

"I want to see him dead!" Ron gripped Fen's lab coat tighter. Slamming him towards the wall.

Kim took a step forward. "Is that even justice?" She tried to hold her hand out, but Ron paid no attention to it. "It is for me!" He answered with such intensity and conviction. "But what about your parents? Is it justice for them?" Kim argued back. Ron glared at her, since she was the one who had the gall to mention his family once more. Kim had to be convincing of this, otherwise, more blood will be spilled.

"Fen murdered your parents, but he couldn't have known that there was a bounty towards your family, right? He left the scene, he's guilty of that, he took the money, he's guilty of that too, a good reason for you to kill him. But what happens if you kill him? I mean if you kill him right now, he'll probably be remembered as a gifted and beloved scientist who was killed by some lunatic. You don't want him to be remembered as a good man, it wouldn't make sense. You want to disgrace him, make him hit rock bottom right? You want the world to see him for what he truly is, a sad, pathetic cheat who leeched onto the more successful people who work hard on what they do. But killing him here and now isn't the way… I'm begging you… don't do this."

His lust for revenge had outweighed logic, in the beating the he was giving Fen, he had forgotten about what he was really setting out to do. This was the same objective that he discussed with Vivian earlier and yet here he was, forgetting every word of it. It wasn't enough to humiliate him in front of the scientists, he had to show Middleton what a parasite he was. Which was why Kim's words made a valid point.

With a deep breath, he let go of Fen's lab coat, letting him writhe in pain on the floor. At that point, Kim spoke to him again. "Listen, I need your help… there's some guy out there and he's here attacking innocent people."

"Who?" He asked.

"I don't know, but he has this Greek letter on his uniform, I wanna say he's just a regular henchman, but he's not. He has training, a lot of training and I can't take him alone." She held out his mask, and after a couple seconds tossed it to him. Ron caught it, and took off the current mask that was on him, sporting a solemn look as he did.

Kim then handed Ron his sword. "Let's go." He said as he rushed towards the battle. During that, Ron wanted to ask something about the perp.

"There's some fighting going on, do you know who it is, aside from the guy you're fighting?"

"It's some android. I dunno, it came from a nearby lab. It was trying to protect a scientist." She answered. Ron had immediately deciphered what that meant.

"Oliver 2.0, that's the android Dr. Porter created, apparently he serves as a bodyguard for her. We have to get her and the android out. Why is this dude attacking this place anyway?"

Kim answered. "I don't know, but he got here by a jet. He has to be here for a reason."

"Yeah, either he wanted to draw you out, or steal the Centurion project." Ron only had two theories on that. Little did he know that one of them was right on the money.

"Centurion project? What's that?"

"Nanotechnology. Some sort of sentient battle armor that looks like a bracelet, we can't let your guy get ahold of it."

As they rushed to the fighting Oliver was being thrown around by Sigma. Before the fight could continue, Ron shouted. "Hey!" They both stopped fighting, and looked at the two.

'That's a Greek letter… I think I know this one… Sigma?' Ron thought in his mind. Afterwards, he unsheathes his sword. "Oliver, go to Dr Porter and get her out of here, keep her safe ok?" Once Oliver heard the name of its creator, the objective parameters changed and he went to find her.

"Ok, it's him and us… any ideas?"

Kim made the strategy. "We should coordinate our attacks, get him on multiple fronts."

Ron nodded his head. "I'll start the assault."

Ron charged at Sigma with his blade in hand, first a horizontal swipe towards the right, a vertical swipe upwards, then a diagonal slash downwards to the left. Sigma had dodged the first two and caught the last attack with his hand. Ron was whipped to the left, but that was where Sigma was left open and Kim went in to attack.

She performed a body hook to his liver, then a cross to the face and an uppercut to the jaw. With a free hand, Sigma had pulled her close to headbutt her which staggered her and punched Ron in the face, making him fall down while losing grip of his sword. Sigma held the sword by the serrations and threw it away.

Kim countered with a left roundhouse kick to the body and grabbed him with her right hand to perform an elbow stroke to the temple, which she succeeded. Unfortunately for her, she was met with a knee to the body along with a shoulder charge that knocked her back again.

As Ron got up, he noticed something peculiar about the fighter, their attacks weren't doing enough damage, if at all. The way he grabbed his sword at a speed like that, without having the sense to dodge or flinching when it hit the hand. He looked at the blood on the sword and then at the villain.

Ron charged at him, going for a double leg takedown, Sigma tried to do a sprawl but Ron caught that and squeezed the fighter's legs together and effectively slammed him to the ground. Ron saw a fist go directly to his face, but he was able to dodge it and place it about the villains head and place him in an arm triangle choke.

Kim had then jumped up and slammed her knee onto Sigma's abdomen. She also saw that Ron's submission hold wasn't going to last. They got back on their feet, Ron lost grip and was pushed away. She took it as her chance to attack. She did a left jab, a right hook, then a spinning hook kick. Sigma took the two blows without trouble, but he dodged the third attack.

The enemy then took it upon himself to grab Kim by the throat and hoist her up in the air. Wanting to desperately squeeze the life out of her for causing this much trouble for him. He tightened his grip, seeing Kim flail about, fighting for breath was all the more satisfying.

"No!" Ron yelled. He took the screwdriver that stabbed Fen so long ago and threw it onto the forearm that held Kim. Ron saw his grip loosen a bit, then he decided to charge forward and drive the tool deeper into the arm and drag it to meet the elbow. Ron was attacked with the other hand, Sigma aimed for the ribs and kept at it. Ron did a push kick that put him on the ground, he then ran toward Kim, who was coughing and regaining her breath.

"You alright?" He asked. If Kim didn't know any better, it sounded like that he was genuinely worried for her.

"Yeah. Thanks. What's up with this guy?" She got up and they both looked at Sigma. He took the screwdriver that impaled him and threw it to the ground. But there was something off after that… the arm that was stabbed, he tried to move it to no avail… and he didn't say anything or make a sound the entire fight, every blow was just nothing to him… as if he couldn't feel it.

Couldn't feel it… could that be the answer?

"He can't feel." Ron deduced. "He can't feel pain, that explains why he's still fighting the way he is."

Kim took note of that as well, the part where Ron stabbed him with the screwdriver and slashed his hand was proof enough. "He can fight through the hand being cut, but the screwdriver… it must've hit a tendon."

Ron made the strategy this time. "We need to break his bones, or slice a tendon. He's out one limb, only three more and we can immobilize him completely." Before they could attack, someone was going for the Centurion bracelet.

"Oh! There you are! Please, kill him! Kill that bastard and get me out of here!" It was Fen spewing those words, he was nearly beaten into a bloody paste and stumbling forward, trying to maintain what was left of his balance.

Kim had heard the doctor exclaim such words which actually confirmed his allegiance to the enemy.

"How are you still walking?!" Ron yelled.

"I made it this far, I'm a success in comparison to all the other scientists in this backwater town. I will not have my reputation undermined by teenage thugs pretending to be heroes. I know what I did, I stole their work, I silenced some people, there was even a time where I killed someone… but I don't regret it. I'm here and I won't be touched. I'm the one with the project, the reputation, the car, the house, everything! Think about what you're doing, I have friends in high places… the minute you do something to me… they'll know and you'll be sorry!" Fen took his eyes off of the fighters.

"This is my work, all of it! It's all mine!" Before he could take the bracelet, Ron ran forward and clocked him straight in the jaw, breaking it and leaving him unconscious.

"So much for your reputation. You just confessed to a crime." Ron then took the bracelet, in hopes of returning it to Vivian when he gets the chance. Luckily, not only did Kim hear the confession herself, but he recorded the entire thing. Maybe if he could crop out some of his lines, which was basically one question, probably won't be too much of a problem, would it?

Ron then went back to Kim to join her in the fight. Sigma was basically attacking with one arm and the occasional kick, but Kim had caught the arm that was attacking and used Sigma's momentum to put him into the ground, placing him in an armbar and breaking something. Ron went to Sigma's leg and stabbed him in the thigh, all the while thinking to himself. 'Is it wrong to think that what Kim did was kinda hot?'

He offered a hand to Kim, seeing that Sigma was finally immobilized. She accepted it and got up. They both went to catch their breath, battered and bruised by the fight.

"This guy was… too much." Kim said.

"Yeah… but it's done now." Ron answered.

As Kim looked at Sigma, she could see the Greek letter identifying him crack and make a whirring sound. Something in her just told her that it was a bad omen, and it was going to go off in seconds.

"Look out!" She pushes Ron out of the way and then felt a shockwave push both of them towards the wall. The sound of a violent crash echoed throughout the room. It seemed as if Kim took the brunt of the attack.

"Urgh, my head." Ron groaned. Stumbling to get up. He looked to a direction to see an unconscious Kim, not even making the slightest of movements.

His eyes widened, he remembered that Kim protected him from the attack. "Oh no! Kim!" He ran towards her direction and tried to feel for a pulse, to his relief, it was there. He needed to get her patched up, and quickly. He wanted to use Kim's rappel, but it looked to be a bit damaged in the shockwave.

'Ok… don't panic. I gotta get Kim to my home and get her help. Rappel won't do any good, my gear's on the roof and… ok now we can panic.' Before he could he remembered something that may help with all of this.

The Centurion bracelet.

He placed it on, coating his body with cybernetic armor. He hoisted Kim up bridal style and look to the crashed window. 'Ok hopefully this thing has a jetpack.' To his surprise, it did and it activated at his behest. "That is so cool!" He shouted. But now was back to getting Kim out of there. He took off as quick as he could into the sunset.

"Hang in there KP, you're going to be all right, just hang in there!"
