As Ruby prepared for the match she wept knowing what could happen if she lost. Jaune entered the room immediately seeing Ruby his best friend and now wife weeping rushed to her side and pulled her close. He lifted her head up as they looked into each others eyes nothing was said they kissed and as they kissed a moment of clarity happened and they knew what needed to be done.

Ruby entered the Arena prepared for the match. As she walked out of tunnel on her side of the Arena she noticed a few things. First was that Jaune was nowhere to be seen as expected. The second was that Blanche was at the opposite end of the Arena floor which was only about forty feet long and thirty feet wide. Tactically she was at a slight disadvantage with her rifle mode not being as effective this close.

The only edge she might have is her speed semblance. Blanche had heard about Ruby's parents from her own and she could only imagine her raw talent. Her being accepted by Beacon two years early was enough to show that underestimating her could be a grave mistake. She also personally knew her uncle Qrow and had been on many missions with him where he had often bragged about her having taken her under his wing.

As they walked towards each other a familiar bird flew up and perched upon a tree watching intently.

Ruby and Blanche meet in the middle of the arena where they shook hands. The hard-light shields sparked up as they parted with an aura Board coming to life. Soon the match began. Blanche unsheathed her weapons they were in their first form which were twin Flysas's and attacked with a straight charge attempting to get close to her target. But just as neared Ruby Ruby jumped while using the rifle part of crescent rose to send her soaring through the air. She landed behind Blanche posed for a counter attack and began twirling her weapon as Blanche turned her weapons to their second form that were twin .357 Magnums and started an onslaught of of fire using ice dust coated dust rounds that upon connecting with crescent rose froze it. Soon after it froze to the ground.

Ruby unloaded crescent roses current magazine and switched to fire dust rounds but before she could finish loading them Blanche was on her like white on rice on a paper plate and a glass of milk in a snow storm. Suddenly the the glass roof shattered. and standing in the middle of the arena sword drawn and blocking the attack was Qrow.
