QUE INTRO!

A month had gone by since Naruto had awoken in Beach City and met the Crystal Gems, along with Steven and Connie, though meeting everyone was rather short lived since Connie mentioned her father had another job in the town over so she wouldn't be back for a while, which got Naruto thinking about Travelling to gain some knowledge of the new world around him. Which greatly saddened Steven, who after hearing this tried to do everything in his power to convince the blonde shinobi of staying just a little longer but to no avail.

Though he seemed to bounce back rather quickly when Naruto promised he'd definitely come back and tell him all about his adventure, he even gave Naruto a bag full of Cookie Cat ice creams claiming to be the best treats in the world, much to Naruto's amusement when in that moment a silhouette of Naruto at a younger age standing right next to him proclaiming his love for Ramen. With Ice creams in hand and a map given to him by Pearl, Naruto disappeared before their eyes in what seemed to be a distorted ripple surprising everyone who saw Naruto's body distort and begin to enter the ripple.

Present Time.

It was a beautiful day, the sun was high in the sky, the oceans were calm and a steady wind rolling on through, the beach itself looked like a sea of jewels from the way the light hit the water and that was the scene Naruto came across as he landed a top the lighthouse overlooking Beach City and all it's inhabitants. A faint smile appeared on his lips as he stood on that lighthouse, hands placed on his hips, as his old home, Konoha flashed in front of him for just a moment, reminding him of the day he returned home after travelling with Jiraiya. His nostalgic moment was cut short at the sound of laughing and various splashing sounds, curiosity getting the better of him he looks towards the origin of the sound to see Pearl and Amethyst sitting around a lifeguard's chair as Steven was stationed on top pelting the two with water balloons much to Amethyst's amusement and Pearls chagrin, so he jumped down, descending at a steady pace thanks to the application of some Wind manipulation.

The first thing he heard was Amethyst's taunts followed by a very annoyed Pearl.

"Every single move matters" Pearl says in a matter of fact tone laced with confusion and mild frustration.

"it sounds like someone is being a sore loser" Was Amethyst's snide remark, gaining the expected reaction from her fellow Gem.

"I'm not a sore loser, because I just won the game" Taunted Pearl as she clearly decimated Amethyst

"What!" Was the surprised shout that escaped Amethyst's lips

"Here comes!" Was Amethyst's welcoming shout before she was pelted with multiple water balloons.

"Ah! It feels good to lose."

Was all she could say as she felt the pleasant feeling of the cold water running down her skin in this particularly hot day.

Clearing her throat as she folded her arms under her chest, Pearl began to lecture the smaller Gem in front of her.

"I certainly hope that isn't the attitude you have during battle."

"Ugh, You're no fun anymore! This is why we don't form Opal" Amethyst stated in a bore yet annoyed tone.

"We don't form Opal because you're difficult and a mess!" Pearl countered, bending over to better make eye contact, pointing her finger rather too close to Amethyst's face for the shorter Gem's liking.

Losing her cool and literally butting heads with the taller Gem, Amethyst proceeds to growl out of anger.

"We don't form Opal because you're uptight and-"

Was All either could say before Steven Slid from his position atop the lifeguard chair.

"Guys, guys! What is opal?!"

"whatever it is, it sounds awesome!" Came an unknown voice, causing them to turn and acknowledge the new arrival.

"Naruto, you're back! Did you bring me anything?!" Came the usual response from Steven.

Chuckling at the young boys behaviour, Naruto reached into his pouch located on his leg where a seal was placed for items too large for the bag itself and pulled out a book.

"wowsers! A book thank you! Wait Naruto, it has your name on it!" Came Steven's confused yet ecstatic reaction.

Ruffling the young boys hair he smiled down at him as he clarified.

"It was my God Father's first book, 'The Tale of The Utterly Gutsy Shinobi' It wasn't as popular as his other work but the publisher seemed to see a lot of promise from this series and asked me to continue it and I more than happily accepted."

"W-wow Naruto that's so amazing. Oh my gosh! It even has your picture in it a-and is that your God Father?"

Steven asked as he eyed the small picture next Naruto's own photo, of an older man with a rather wild look to him as he sported long hair almost identical to Steven's own father except this man's hair was a lot spikier, he also had two red lines running vertically down his face from under each eye, he was sporting a grey outfit that Steven noticed was what he thought most ninjas would normally wear, and also a red over coat with two yellow circles on either side of his upper chest. The man himself was in a rather relaxed position with his arms folded over his chest as he gave an honest and gentle smile as if someone dear to him was taking the photo which Steven assumed was the case.

Before Naruto could answer though Steven's eyes drifted south of the photo and came upon some writing.

"A place where someone thinks of you…that's a place you can call home." Steven recited bringing a small smile to Naruto's face as he let those words sink in.

"Yes Steven, that's him, Jiraiya of the Sannin, my late godfather and sensei." Naruto answered with a small yet sad smile, as he recalled all of the moments he shared with the perverted Sannin.

"N-Naruto..How did it h-happen?"

Steven hesitantly asked, clutching the book close to his chest as he rather sheepishly looked up to the taller teen but failing as he found his feet more interesting right now, though he felt a little more relieved when Naruto's hand found its way to the top of his head again.

"That's a very loaded story Steven and to be completely honest I never really got passed his death but maybe some other time." Naruto explained, not wanting to relive the event, even to this day.

"That's alright, I get it kinda, I never knew my mom, everyone talks about her a lot and that's something I guess but it's just not the same. It's weird to miss someone you've never really met before and it makes you wonder, if they loved you and if they'd be proud of you." Steven shared, his eyes gaining a rather misty look about them.

"You know, there was something my godfather told me a long time ago Steven, 'The true measure of a shinobi is not how he lives but how he dies, It's not what they do in life but what they did before dying that proves their worth.' And in your mother's final moments she was bringing you into this world, there's no question about it, she loved you dearly and if she could be here right now I Know she'd be proud." Naruto reassured Steven, bending down and playing a comforting hand on his shoulder as they held that touching moment.

"Thanks Naruto, that means a lot" Steven thanked Naruto,

"Anytime Steven and when I'm ready tell you more about my life and the people in it, how about I tell you My godfathers final moments, it can help with the next chapter of the series I've been thinking of, The Tale of the Gallant Toad Sage of Mount Myōboku" Naruto exclaimed as he stood from his crouched position, striking a nice guy pose

"O-okay Naruto." Steven agreed, visible tears in his eyes but a rather weak smile making it's way on his face as Naruto's smile seemed to be rather contagious.

Chuckling, Naruto turns his attention away from Steven and placing it on the two Gems behind Steven.

"So what's this about Opal? I'm rather interested and we all know where the little guy here stands on the subject."

Steven's eyes gaining stars once more, spinning around to his two Gem guardians, though missing the moment the two had to quickly wipe away some loose tears at the moment the two humans shared. Naruto on the other hand didn't and so he gave them a gentle smile showing them he really was alright.

"O-Oh it's the two of us mashed together-" Was all Amethyst could explain before a snort of amusement was heard from Pearl.

"is water just hydrogen and oxygen mashed together?" Pearl asked rather sarcastically but all she received were two confused looks followed by synchronised "Uhh" from both Steven and Amethyst.

"analogy was-" was all she could say before Naruto broke out into laughter as he appeared next to the slim Gem placing his arm around her shoulders.

"that was a good one pearl!"Naruto wheezed out between his laughter, Pearl's cheeks taking on a darker blue.

'I really have no idea what she just said, but how could I just leave her hanging there' Naruto thought as he mentally sighed.

"T-thank you Naruto but as I was saying, when we synchronise our forms we can combine into a powerful fusion Gem called Opal." Pearl explained, as she crouched to Steven and Amethyst's height and used her Gem powers to construct two miniature Amethyst and Pearl out of the sand which began to dance and soon morphed into a new figure neither Naruto nor Steven recognised though they guessed that was Opal.

Before Steven could comment about said process Naruto, rather enthusiastically, crouched as well besides Pearl, stars now reflecting in his eyes.

"That's so awesome! I can do that as well!" Naruto exclaimed, pointing towards Pearls sand construct.

"What?!/No way!" Were the collective gasps of everyone present, not including Naruto.

"Y-y-you mean to tell me you can fuse Naruto?!" Was Pearl's reaction, which seemed to be what everyone was wondering at the moment.

"What? No, I mean I can control sand just like you can!" With that said, Naruto created a sand doll of himself beside Pearl's and made it dance along to an imaginary beat, while also locking hands with Pearl's Opal doll which made the two sand constructs begin a slow dance together.

Everyone visibly less shocked released a breath they didn't know they were holding though still very much surprised at this new power the blonde teen possessed. Once Amethyst regained her composure she immediately became annoyed at the display Pearl made of her sand replicate dancing like some uptight Pearl.

So, with the new thought of completely wrecking the sand figures as some act of revenge/statement, Amethyst soon found her left foot in the air heading straight towards Naruto's display of his ability to control sand, though what shocked her and everyone there besides Naruto, was in fact Naruto's Sand clone raised its hand towards the sky in the last possible second, seemingly catching the foot of the short Gem.

In a fluid motion with such ease it pushed Amethyst's foot up towards the sky causing the Gem to do a failed back-flip landing face first into the sand as uncontrolled laughter escaped Steven's lips while Pearl's laughter was much more restrained as she covered her mouth with one hand, though the sounds couldn't be muffled that easy. Naruto though was now standing at his full height grinning at the downed gem with his hands on his hips and a huge smile on his face, as Sand Naruto mimicked the action.

Spitting the sand, she had managed to inhale when kissing the beach from that unexpected back-flip, out of her mouth she gave a small glare at Naruto before directing it towards Pearl as she stood up, dusting the sand from her body.

"Except I don't dance like that" anger and disgust lacing her words Pearl was still giggling beside Naruto unable to really say anything back to Amethyst, luckily Steven chose that moment to jump right in, excitement as clear as day.

"that's so cool! But tell me more about Opal" Steven demanded, wanting to know more about this new Gem.

Amethyst relaxed as she began to inform Steven of Opal.

"Well Steven, she's an ultra-powerful, stone cold Betty, that parts me and she's like tall, that parts Pearl" She explained borderline bragging.

Finished her uncharacteristic giggle fit Pearl decided to throw in her two cents

"What Amethyst is attempting to say is Opal is an amalgam of our combine magical and physical attributes, fused into a single entity" as soon as Pearl finished her more detailed explanation, Steven was already gripping her hands begging and pleading to see Opal.

"Wow can you do it right now?! Come on form Opal" Steven yelled, clearly excited as he looked between Amethyst and Pearl though all he earned was a shake negative from Pearl and a nonchalant raspberry from Amethyst.

"We only form Opal when it's absolutely necessary" was Pearl's quick and final answer to Steven before a bright flash lit up the house indicating someone had used the Teleportation pads.

"O-oh, Garnets back!" Stated Steven as he momentarily forgot about his desire to see Opal, dashing towards the house leaving the others slightly behind.

Steven's home

As Naruto entered the house he was mildly amused at Steven being rather excited to be receiving a rock of all things from the tallest Gem but before he could deliver the witty remark he had thought of the conversation between the elder Gem members caught his interest.

Walking up to her longtime friend and ally Pearl rather simply inquired about the mission Garnet returned from.

"So, was your mission a success?"

With the same emotionless tone of voice Garnet began to update the group on her progress. "I have located the beetles of heaven and earth, we should split up to retreat them" she suggested

No sooner had she finished talking, Amethyst wasted no time stating her thoughts about that idea.

"Well I'm going with, not Pearl"Hearing this Pearl's face immediately twisted into one of complete annoyance, not from the smaller Gem's comment rather the way she had worded it. "That's perfect because I don't want to go with grammatically incorrect people anyway." She admitted with a neutral expression and tone of voice not hinting at anything.

Having been silent throughout this whole thing, too preoccupied with his new rock, which was currently between his teeth Steven thought he'd rejoin since he felt Pearl was referring to him. "Is her talking about me?" Steven asked Amethyst while also successfully throwing himself into the same category as her.

"You three go together, I go alone" Garnet said drawing all eyes away from Steven and back on her, also prompting a disbelieved look from the three out of four other occupants in the room.

"What, why?!" Came Pearl Amethyst and Steven's voices all-in sync seeing as all were equally shock from Garnets comment though before they voiced their concerns Garnet elaborated her reason further knowing just how things would play out if she didn't.

"The Earth beetle is at the bottom of a boiling lava lake and only I can swim in lava" as she finished explaining, Garnet raised both hands, clapping them together and then proceeding to pull them apart but in doing so caused a yellow glow to emit between her hands until it dissipated leaving thick orange goggles where her shades use to be, as two orange straps sprung from either side wrapping snugly around her Afro.

Naruto couldn't help but give low whistle in admiration, for the colour Garnet had chosen for her goggles.

"Digging the goggles Garnet."Naruto stated as he finally announced his presence to the tallest Gem not too sure if she even knew of his arrival.

"though, you're not the only one who's able to survive in that kind of environment" to back up that claim Naruto enveloped his hand in lava using Lava Release: Chakra Mode.

"Though I think I'd rather go with these three, promised Steven here I'd hang out with him when I returned and Naruto Uzumaki never goes back on his word." Now standing behind the three Naruto placed his right hand on Amethyst's head while the other one rested on Pearl's shoulder silencing the two from any disagreements as a large smile appeared on his face and in turn Steven's.

Smiling slightly from both Naruto's compliment and his rather tactical way of stopping any and all arguments while keeping the peace. Sending a nod his way with a grateful smile, Naruto took that as an okay to tag along and so he ushered the three to get going which they did quite civilly, apart from Amethyst's and Pearl's usual bickering.

As those two reached what looked to be a crystal-like pad, Steven and himself started to make their way over, after of course, Steven decided it was best to leave his newly acquired rock home. Though as the two were almost to the Pad Garnet called out to both of them.

"Steven, Naruto, be sure to keep the harmony" was all she said, Naruto though sensed the worry slightly laced in her voice.

"No Problem/ No problem" both said in sync as they also gave Garnet reassuring thumbs up.

When stepping onto the crystal pad and placing himself between the two Crystal Gems as Steven took his place in front of him. Naruto sensed the power coursing through it and it slightly reminded him of his father's Hirashin Tags and decided to put a pin in that for later.

"Today's going to be all about Harmo-"

Steven announced as a bright light erupted from below them, slightly startling Naruto though seeing the looks Pearl and Amethyst were sending each other from the side of him caused Naruto to let out a mental sigh seeing as this was all too familiar to him as he recalled memories of him and Sasuke still in team Seven.

Those thoughts were quickly silenced as he felt his body rapidly travel through some sort of funnel and quickly reappear in a different location feeling slightly put off Naruto was able to shake the feeling fast enough to study himself and catch Steven who in the process of Teleporting somehow ended up higher off the ground and on a crash course for an identical looking pad as the one back in the Gem's home.

"Ony- Oof" Came Steven's voice as he landed in the Arms of Naruto, who was looking down at him, slightly laugh.

"S-sorry about that, I guess I got carried away" Steven laughed out, rubbing his hair slightly in an embarrassed fashion.

That all disappeared as quick as it appeared, when Steven caught a glimpse around, taking in their new surroundings. What surrounded the group were a beautiful valley of mountains all around them, high up amongst the clouds as a soft pink filled the sky and a light glow from the sun's rays warmed their bodies.

"Whoa, is this where the heaven beetle lives?" Steven asked Pearl as he pointed to the peak of the mountain.

"Apparently" was all Steven got out of her as she surveyed the area leading to their destination.

"All the way at the top" Amethyst added in.

"So, when you fuse, do you turn into a giant, giant woman or just a regular sized giant woman?" Asked Steven much to both the Gem's annoyance, which became evident when he looked to Amethyst and all he got was an annoyed groan as she walked off ahead.

"Does one of you control the right arm and the other control the left arm" he continued with his questioning as Pearl left to join with her shorter Crystal Gem.

"Come on Steven, Naruto" prompting the two to make their way up the path as well.

"W-wait these are extremely important questions!" He called out to them

"I'm sure they are Steven and I'm sure they'll be sure to answer them AFTER the mission is over and who knows if we are lucky they might even show us if you're good"

Naruto assured the smaller boy as he hoisted Steven onto his shoulders and used a chakra enhanced jump to catch up with the Gems.

"You're right! Got to be on my best behaviour!" Steven chanted.

When Naruto landed next to Pearl he took in the long staircase they would have to travel up and when his neck craned upwards to look at the top he sighed until Steven whispered in his ear.

"I bet if they formed Opal they could be the ones giving us a piggyback ride" he said looking towards Pearl making sure she didn't hear him.

Naruto couldn't help but let out a small laugh at the smaller boy's words.

"I'm sorry to say Steven but I think you'll have to make due with me"

Steven had the decency to blush and act embarrassed at Naruto's comment.

"Nah it's cool, your piggybacks are pretty cool as well."

After that the group fell into a comfortable silence as they ascended the stairs. Though when they reached the top Steven must've either forgotten Naruto's words or just could resist the urge to hound the two Gems with more questions.

"Oh, what about if you eat a hot dog, who's stomach does it go into or do you share the same stomach? That would be gross"

laughing a little at his own question Steven waited for a question though before anyone could say or do anything a loud rustling came from the bushes in front of them.

The Gems released their weapons while stepping in front of Naruto and Steven, who was still on top of Naruto's Shoulders. Naruto on the other hand to an untrained eye seemed relaxed but all his muscles and senses where on high alert, he had even slipped a kunai into his right hand from a seal he keeps on his wrist.

While this was going on Steven was hoping for something anything threatening to appear out of that bush in hopes of forcing the two Gems to fuse, though to his disappointment and everyone else's surprise a goat emerged from the bush, leaping to a nearby as it munched on a flower they all assumed he got while travelling through those bushes.

Before anyone could react, Steven sought to try and salvage the situation and hopefully trick them into fusing.

"Look out it's a magical goat guardian, quick you have to form Opal, it's the only way to defeat it, hurry before it kills us all!" And to sell it he covered his face with Naruto's shoulder length hair. Getting a small laugh from said blonde and a tired sigh from both Amethyst and Pearl.

"Ugh, Steven we only fuse for deadly situations, does this look like a deadly situation?" Asked Pearl, who was beginning to lose her Patience with Steven. While she voiced her question, she moved closer to the wild mountain goat before thrusting her right palm out towards the goat, which was a bad move, because as soon as she finished her sentence the goat thought it a good idea to bite the Crystal Gem's hand.

"Ow, hey- Bad mountain goat" Pearl chastised the wild animal for biting her palm, what she got in return though was the goat bleating in her face causing Pearl to frown slightly at that response. Though it had an opposite effect towards Amethyst and Steven, Amethyst fell to the ground laughing at what happened to her fellow Crystal Gem.

"Darn it! Aw, I'm never going to get to see Opal" Steven said quite dramatically before he did something that surprised Naruto more so than the Gems since they were quite used to it, which was break out in song.

"All I wanna do is see you turn-" Steven started though before he could continue Naruto stopped him.

"Wait, so, this is a thing?" Naruto asked, more curious than anything else.

"Well yeah singing is a fun way to pass the time and help say what's on your chest, you should try it with me" Steven exclaimed to Naruto, happy he might have someone join him since no one else really did.

"Aren't there supposed to be instruments of some kind playing along with us?" Still slightly confused about the whole situation, looking back in forth between the Gems and Steven.

"W-well yeah sometimes but not all the time, you can just sing whenever or about whatever you want, it doesn't have to be about anything just whatever you're seeing or feeling maybe even something that happened to you during the day. Besides I didn't bring my guitar with me or ukulele."

Before anyone could continue the conversation, Naruto's hands Started to glow and the form of a small Ukulele started to take place in his hands shocking everyone around him especially the Gems, Steven on the other hand was awe struck with a serious amount of questions rocketing through his mind but before he could voice any Naruto handed him the ukulele.

"Here you go Steven, that should make whatever we are about to do a little easier."

Naruto said, smiling at the young boy riding his shoulders.

"You could even use it as a weapon, I made sure it was extra sturdy just in case you decided to bring it on missions."

"Wow! Thank you so much Naruto! It even has stars decorating every part of it."

Steven stated as he admired the ukulele in his hands, not even paying attention to Pearl and Amethyst's approach still with their mouth open."

"N-Naruto, what one Earth was that just now, how were you able to make that ukulele just appear like that" Pearl stammered out, trying to find any logic in what she just witnessed.

"It's an ability of mine, thanks to this eye, I'm able to perfectly mold Yin chakra and Yang chakra to perform an ability called The Creation of All Things." As he explained the Jutsu to everyone his palms were engulfed in flames, his right hand in blue while his left was engulfed in red and when the flames started to rise higher he clasped them together while the two flames started to mix and enter into a hypnotic dance it receded into his palm only now started to emit a small glow until a muffled tweet was heard from within his palm, confusing everyone.

Opening his palm caused Amethyst and Steven to scream "Whoa" in utter amazement while Pearl gasped completely shocked at what she had just witnessed in front of her. In his palm was a small sky-blue Himalayan Blue-tail, contently resting in the blonde's hand taking in everything around it especially the other figures studying it.

"Oh my gosh! Naruto that is so cool, is it some kind of trick or illusion?!" Asked Steven gaining everyone's attention even the bird's, which when spotting Steven on Naruto's shoulders fly up to the small boy and nestled in his curly hair letting out a few content tweets.

"No Steven, this isn't some kind of illusion or trick, with that ability I am also able to breathe life into any creation of mine, though the more complex the life and body the harder it is." Explained Naruto as he chuckled at the bird's actions.

"B-but that's just not possible, I mean you're human a-and you just created life o-out of nothing I mean it just doesn't make sense-" Pearl's rambling was cut short as Amethyst jumped in with her two cents.

"That's so cool! Can you make like living weapons or, or living food!?" She rather excitedly asked before her eyes glazed over and drool started leaking from her mouth.

"Weapons yes though living food probably not I'm afraid but this can all wait until after we are done here, I feel we are getting kind of off course here, Steven I believe you have a song you wanted to sing." Naruto Stated, reminding everyone why exactly they were here.

"R-right, um where was I before all of that happened?" Steven asked as he began playing before a smooth sweet voice filled the air reminding him as well as shocking Steven and the others.

(Naruto) "All you wanna do is see them turn into"

Naruto sang as best he could seeing as he had never really sung in front of anyone but the plants he kept at his apartment back in Konoha.

(Naruto/Steven) "A giant woman, A giant woman!"

Both Steven and Naruto sang together, causing one another to smiled broadly, before anyone knew it a platform made of sand rose from out of Naruto's sleeves as he sat on it, Steven finally crawling down and planting himself next to Naruto slightly surprised but otherwise still focused on the song as the two Gems who at this point thought it couldn't get stranger after the bird incident continued on to their objective, with the boys floating behind.

(Steven) " All I wanna be, is someone who gets to see, a giant woman."

(Naruto/Steven) "All we wanna do, is help you turn into, a giant woman, a giant woman"

(Steven) "All I wanna be, is someone who gets to see, a giant woman!"

(Naruto) "Oh I know it'll be great, and we just can't wait, to see the person you are together"

Seeing the two gems acting rather spiteful to one another Steven had a brilliant plan, so as Naruto sang he whispered it into his ear earning a firm nod and a big smile from the blonde. As Pearl pulled herself out of the water from one of Amethyst's pranks she was suddenly grabbed and lifted from the ground, as well as Amethyst. As the two looked above them to see what unknown force had done this, they were soon met with Steven and Naruto's face smiling down at the two.

Seeing that they had captured the two Gems Naruto and Steven looked at one another signalling to continue playing.

(Steven) "If you give it a chance, you can do a huge dance, because you are a giant woman."

(Naruto) "You might even like, being together, and if you don't it won't be forever"

(Naruto/Steven) "But If it were me, I'd really like to be, a giant woman, a giant woman! All we wanna do, is see you turn into, a giant woman"

As soon as the song ended Naruto noticed the two gems were looking everywhere but each other meaning the rift between them wasn't any smaller, so sighing in defeat he and Steven dropped the two down before Naruto stood up with Steven beside him as the sand lowered and soon enough dispersed leaving them standing beside Amethyst and Pearl, who were look over a bridge made up of floating rocks spaced between themselves and the stair case leading up to the Heaven beetle.

Naruto was the first to voice his thoughts about the predicament they found themselves in. "It doesn't look like that big of a leap, I coul-"

before he could finish his sentence a familiar mountain goat let out a loud bleep letting everyone around it know he somehow followed them, before leaping across the rocks with practised ease.

"Okay that was weird, maybe it was some kind of magical goat, I'm not sure how he managed to follow us."

Naruto joked though no one seemed to be affected by it much seeing as there was rather strong tension between the two elder gems. "as I was saying I could take Steven across with me and you two can follow, sound good to everyone?" Naruto asked turning towards his group trying to see their answer, though as his eyes fell upon them he sighed realising everyone was still in their own little world.

"Or we could just do this!" Came Amethyst's voice, cutting through the silence as she picked up Steven and hurled him towards the first floating rock following soon after, effectively scaring both Naruto and Pearl, though thankfully Steven landed safely as did Amethyst.

"Wow, Amethyst that was a really good idea" Steven Praised the purple Gem, not really understanding the situation he was just put through and the severity of it.

Smiling rather proudly at the praise Amethyst replied rather smugly with. "I know, I'm full of them" though that happy moment of hers was cut short as the frustrated scream from Pearl was heard by the two.

"Oh, come on Pearl it's safe, just look!" To prove his point Steven started to shake the floating piece of Earth they were standing on much to Amethyst's amusement, which she then joined but instead decided to leap into the air and landing back onto the floating bridge, effectively throwing Steven off balance and sent him plummeting to the ground below.

Before Naruto could act Amethyst and Pearl threw one another a side glance seemingly knowing what they had to do and leapt into action to save Steven. Summoning her whip, Amethyst secured it around Pearl's waist who willing jumped after Steven, angling her body to reduce wind resistance as to reach Steven faster. When she secured him into her arms Amethyst gave a nice big pull on her whip and successfully reeled the two in, much to everyone's relief.

Steven was the first one to regain some semblance of composer, enough to speak his mind. "That was so great how the both of you worked together, why don't you do that all the time?" He asked causing the two Gems to look at one another questioning that themselves. Though it didn't last long as both Amethyst and Pearl soon looked away from another out of irritation, clearly answering that question with their history together.

Before any more could be said three Naruto clones landed behind each one of them, all securing their respective targets with the real one capturing Pearl around her waist but before anyone could get a word out all three Naruto clones leapt towards the staircase safely landing and then began running vertically up the large floating island.

The first to project what they were thinking at this moment was Amethyst with excitement clearly plastered on her face, if the huge grin she was wearing was anything to go by.

"Oh my gosh! This is so totally amazing, I didn't know humans could do this"

"They can't! Which begs the question as to how you have all these unnatural abilities?!" Was Pearl's voice clearly sounding scared and confused.

Not even looking at the Gem in his arms he continued running to their destination.

"I don't think now is the time for all these questions but if you still want to know after all this I'll tell you all, sound okay to you?"

All he got was a nod in affirmative from Pearl, though before anyone could ask any more questions Steven's laughter cut all of them off.

"Who cares! This is the coolest thing ever, look we are almost there!" To prove himself he was pointing to what clearly looked to be the edge of the floating island.

As Naruto's foot reached the edge of the cliff he leapt towards the sky sailing quite gracefully through the clouds they were already surrounded by thanks to the height of the island, though everyone became slightly worried once they reached the pinnacle of the leap and they soon started to plummet towards the structure atop of the island which seemed to be a dome of sorts where Naruto guessed the Staircase lead to and from that was a path leading to some kind of miniature temple surrounded by water.

"Quick Naruto do something we're falling!" Was the synchronised shout from all three Crystal Gems.

"Don't any of you worry, we are going to be fine, sheesh, I'd never put you guys in harm's way" was all Naruto said as they grew closer and closer towards the ground, which meant the group's worries became clearer and clearer, Pearl even began fighting at Naruto's grip trying to free herself so she could try and protect Steven as much as possible. Though before she could get free she instantly calmed down and soon noticed that they were almost touching the ground but the strange part was their decent seemed to grind almost to a halt somehow.

Before she could announce her confuse Amethyst's voice cut her off. "Wow! You can control how fast you descend as well?! I just thought you were going to transform into that glowing flame thing and fly us down. Isn't that cool Pearl he has the same ability as Rose!"

Though she didn't seem to get a response from her fellow Gem and it was Naruto who answered.

"Rose?" Was all he said, confused at who they could be talking about. As soon as they landed, Naruto dispelled the clones, leaving the Gem's with more questions, thankfully they didn't seem to voice them.

"Yeah Rose Quartz, she was Steven's mum and the leader of the Crystal Gems" Was all Amethyst said to the taller blonde as she ran towards him, Pearl, who was weirdly silent ever since Amethyst mentioned that name and Steven who was looking at the purple Gem in front of him with excitement in his eyes, which Naruto swears he saw containing stars.

"Wow! Do you mean my mum could also do that?"Steven asked Clutching his hands in front of him still looking as excited as ever, staring Amethyst straight in the eyes.

"Yeah little dude, and who knows maybe you'll be able to do it too, if you try hard enough to unlock more of your gem's abilities" Amethyst informed the hybrid, as well as urging him to train more seriously.

Steven gave the smaller Gem a confident nod, silently promising he was going to do whatever he could to help himself unlock more of his potential.

Naruto smiled at this transaction between the two, seeing how much they really did care for one another and the two seemed to work harder and push one another more. Before anymore could be said Pearl reminded the group why they were here.

"We are here for the Heaven Beetle, so if you two don't mind I'd like to get back to the task at hand" As she reprimanded the group she reached what looked to be a smaller sized temple and what the group assumed to be the home of the Heaven beetle.

"R-right, sorry Pearl" Was all Steven said as he joined her, inspecting the smaller temple.

Amethyst and Naruto on the other hand stayed by the exit, Naruto being more on alert, sensing something wasn't right about the situation, while Amethyst couldn't care less about their task, as she chose to lazily lean against the nearest wall.

"This is just where Garnet said it would be, the Heaven Beetle should be inside." Pearl deduced while inspecting it further.

"Check it out, it's even got a little beetle bedroom and little beetle bongos and a little beetle baby book" Steven exclaimed as he peered through one of the windows.

"But where is the beetle, it's supposed to be here, the Heaven Beetle wouldn't leave, would it? Oh! It could be anywhere" Pearl screamed in frustration, seeing as their target was nowhere to be seen.

"Yeah, maybe you should freak out some more, that's really going to help us find it." Amethyst commented rather snidely, earner a glare from her fellow Gem.

"Amethyst, this isn't the time for you two to be at each other's throats-" Was all Naruto could get out before Pearl stormed passed him and got into the smaller Gem's face.

"I cannot believe your attitude Amethyst, and now you're just slouching over here doing nothing" She yelled, while towering over the smaller Gem, obviously displeased with how she's been acting as of late.

"Hey! It's not my fault the beetle isn't there, so why do you have to make things worse for everyone by squawking at me?" She retaliated, also displeased by everything that's happened.

"I don't squawk!" Pearl exclaimed

"Yeah, you're squawking and commenting on my posture" Amethyst pointed out.

"Squawk, Squawk" Pearl mocked

During their argument neither noticed Steven grow more and more uncomfortable as well as the newly minted Steven Junior. Naruto on the other hand grew more worried about the situation around them knowing it wasn't just the arguing setting the goat off.

"Guys, guys, cut it out you're scaring Steven Junior!" Steven said as he got between the two Gems, trying his best to stop the fighting.

"Steven, I don't think it's them that's causing the goat to-" Before Naruto to further elaborate rumbling was heard from beneath the water, stopping the argument dead in its tracks, gaining everyone's attention, before a giant shadow rocketed into the sky.

What surprised everyone was when the shadow soon revealed itself to be a massive bird-like creature with large, broad wings, thin, stick-like legs, and a comparatively small tail. She has brown feathers covering almost all of her body with purple plumage on her chest and belly. She has a huge jagged beak that extends to her forehead with no visible eyes.

Before anyone could react, the massive bird swooped down and in one fluid motion snapped up Steven Junior in one gulp sending the poor goat down to its belly.

"My son" Steven whispered out as he feared the worst for the goat, as tears threatened to fall from his eyes.

But that feeling was pushed aside as the bird now had them in its sights as it squawked violently at them though this time the group was more prepared, Naruto and Pearl jumped into action, with Pearl producing a spear and Naruto a kunai. The two flung their weapons at the large creature, with the intent to quickly end this encounter, though unfortunately the bird seemed very aware of the immediate danger and with ease opened its large beak and swallowed the weapons whole.

Mentally cursing Naruto slid another kunai into his hand as he prepared to intercept the monster. Before he could enact his plan, Amethyst's voice called out behind Pearl and himself.

"Guys in here!" Not in the position to argue Naruto acted swiftly as he placed the kunai back into his holster as he turned on his heels, dragging Pearl who wasn't as quick to act with him, as the two made it through the entry way, the birds beak slammed behind them blocking the way they had just came, as it tried it's hardest to stop them from escaping.

"It swallowed my spear" was all Pearl could say after Narrowly escaping from the monster.

"And my kunai" Naruto added, annoyance easily detectable in his tone.

"Guys this is a great! Now's the perfect time for you two to form opal." Came the ecstatic voice of one Steven Universe, completely oblivious to the reality of the situation.

The gems gave each other a quick glance, both realising Steven did have a point and silently agreed that fusing was their only option at regaining control of the situation. As Steven and Naruto sat further away from the two older gems, as not to interfere, the two Crystal Gems began the process of fusing, with both of them bowing to one another, as their crystals began to shine and glow. Pearl leaping back into an elegant stance. Glancing to see if her partner was indeed prepared, when seeing her partner ungraciously shaking her hips in a rather provocative way, Pearl couldn't help but let out a growl of disapproval, all feeling and joy in the occasion sucked out of it for her. As the two Gems closed the gap, each with their own style, Amethyst pulled Pearl's outstretched arm causing her to fall unceremoniously into Amethyst's awaiting arms but not before accidentally sticking the purple Gem in her face on the way down.

Neither had time to argue with what went wrong as their forms started to mold and shape into something new, a bright light being emitted from the unfinished fusion, but as it reached the climax of the fuse, the fusion broke apart causing both Amethyst and Pearl to be shot on either side of the room, ending up in their own painful heaps.

"so, you wanna try that again? With less hitting me in the face this time" Amethyst sarcastically suggested, as she was pulling herself up from the ground.

"Well it would have worked if your movements weren't so erratic and formless" Pearl countered, as she regained her footing.

"So, it was all my fault? You totally weren't even trying to sync with my dancing, you should know how I dance by now"

"Stop! Come on guys, please stop fighting, if you don't get along with each other, I might never see your awesome fusion power" Steven screamed, effectively stopping the two gems from continuing their argument.

"Steven, I don't think we can force this on them like that, clearly there's something between them that we-"

Before Naruto could finish explaining things to the small hybrid a loud squawk echoed from outside the building, reminding everyone of why they were currently hiding away.

"A-and if you don't fuse I might be eaten by a giant bird!" Steven claimed dramatically.

"Steven I'm sure we're going to be fine, no one's going to be eaten by that monster out there"

Naruto said reassuringly, as he approached the smaller boy, placing a hand on Steven's shoulder. Unfortunately, the ceiling gave way and down came the creature's large beak, surrounding both Naruto and Steven, swallowing them both whole.

INSIDE GEM MONSTER

"Why does every oversized animal have to eat me!"Naruto screamed as he landed in the belly of the bird shaped Gem monster.

"Steven junior!" Steven called out in relief, as he spotted his thought to be lost mountain goat. Rushing towards the four-legged animal, he realised the goat wasn't fazed by its situation whatsoever, as it casually nibbled on some item it picked up from the piles upon piles of random objects within this creature's stomach.

"How can you eat at a time like this?! Hey is that the heaven beetle?" As Steven tried to pry their mission's objective from the stubborn goat Naruto decided to look around at the different object contain inside their capture, from crowns to weapons even the odd gem.

Walking up to a weapon that caught his eye, Naruto inspected the beautiful blade from the stomach wall of the newly named 'Big Bird'. The blade was 45 inches long and 3 inches wide

'that's a really awesome looking sword! I've always wanted one, ever since we went up against Zabuza, even Sasuke got one before me'

As soon as Naruto unsheathed the blade a fist erupted from the ground beside him, evading the large hands that seemed to zero in on him, he made his way over to Steven and Steven junior, blade in hand, although as soon as he reached the younger boy, three of the large hands shot threw the belly underneath him, successfully snagging him as well as both Steven and the goat, then proceeding to pull the three out of Big Bird.

When they emerged from the bird they were greeted with a very tall woman, her skin was a beautiful periwinkle and her thick, despite being tied back into a rowdy ponytail her wavy hair seemed to rest well past her calves. Extending from off the sides of the ponytail are two small pigtails in the front tied by pale yellow ties and chin-length bangs, which resemble Pearl's like the one situated on her forehead, while an Amethyst Gem laid on her chest, which soon made Naruto realize he was staring at the completed fusion of both Amethyst and Pearl.

'ah so this must be Opal, I'm glad all it took was both myself and Steven to finally get those two to put aside their differences'

"Opal" Steven squeaked out, looking up at the imposing figure cradling him

Taking in the rest of her features and clothing Naruto saw that Opal had a strapless pastel teal top with a drape in the front and back that went down to her shins, featuring an accented star at the base. She wore these drapes in a similar fashion to Amethyst.

Before he could congratulate or comment on their fusion, Naruto felt his body jerk in Opal's long arms as she rocketed towards the ground landing in the pond that surrounded the heaven beetle home, soon followed by shards of Big Bird though before they reached the ground, the shards mutated into hundreds of bodiless beaks with wings, that proceeded to dive bomb the group.

Opal easily avoided any attacks that came their way with the grace of a practised fighter and the elegance of a ballerina, reaching the pathways exiting the temple, instead of running she slid along the path with no problem, easily outrunning their pursuers, leaping well over the floating bridge. Placing the three occupants back towards the ground she stood above them protectively.

"Stay low" She commanded, not even waiting for a reply She gracefully strode towards the flock of gem monsters, numbers easily reaching a hundred. Summoning forth both Amethyst's whip and Pearl's spear before deftly wielding both weapons, which soon melded into a bright light, form a bow easily the same size as her body.

Naruto couldn't help but appreciate her prowess in battle and unflinching resolve. His amazement at what was happening in front of him grew when she brought forth her bow and as she drew the bowstring back, he could feel the energy being drawn towards her as it formed an equally large five-pronged arrow, the unknown energy didn't halt there, as she lined up her shot the accumulated energy formed a dome around Opal, coursing with power and as she shot the power the blow back was enough to roughly both Naruto's and Steven's clothes, when impacting in the heart of the deadly flock of Gem monsters, the large arrow scattered into thousands of smaller arrows, making quick work of them monsters, as each shard was immediately bubbled and whisked away.

As she was approaching Naruto and Steven, the shinobi took this time to seal away the blade, in the seal on his wrist, deciding to further inspect it at another time, once he finished that, he took a glance at the younger boy beside him, instantly having to fight the urge to laugh, as Steven's face seemed to be stuck in an awestruck expression, mouth hanging wide open with those stars once again making an appearance in his eyes.

She was soon towering over the two, two out of four hands outstretched to help them up, which Naruto happily accepted while Steven did so, more cautiously.

"Ah, do you know who I am?" The little hybrid asked, looking anywhere but the giant fusion in front of him, worry evident in his voice.

"All you wanna do, is see me turn in to, a giant woman"

As Opal sang, the hand that she used to help Naruto up, found its way into his as she performed the little dance Naruto had made the two sand constructs perform back on the beach causing all three of them to laugh.

STEVEN'S HOME

As Naruto, Opal and Steven appeared in the living room, they took in Garnet who was visibly steaming and in the process of wiping herself down.

"We're back!" Steven shouted from in front of both Naruto and Opal.

"The Heaven Beetle" Was all Garnet said, causing a shocked expression to appear over Opal's face

"I don't have it" She replied and almost instantly she began to lose her form before Pearl and Amethyst was thrown to each side of the warp pad

"Amethyst! You got distracted"

"Aye, you were the one who got carried away with all those fancy back-flips"

Seeing the two fighting Naruto nudge Steven with his hand, reminding the Gem hybrid that he had indeed found what they were sent to look for.

"Wait a sec! I've got the beetle"

"Good job Steven and I see you also helped your teammates fused" Garnet congratulated Steven while sending Naruto and appreciative nod which he returned.

"and all it took was Naruto and myself to be eaten by a bird"

"Nice work, you'll be great at fusion one day" Garnet stated.

"Wait, I can do that too?!" Questioned Steven, not really believing what Garnet had just stated, looking to both Amethyst and Pearl for answers.

"Well, technically it's possible for you to fuse with other gems thanks to your mother's gem but being half human might have some ill effects and prevent you from it, though this is all hypothetical, we won't know till we try." Pearl pointed out

"Did you hear that Naruto?! I might be able to turn into a Giant Woman to!" Steven Screamed in excitement, causing Naruto to smile at his antics.

"I certainly did little dude, though from the display these two put on, its gonna take some work, hows your footwork?" Naruto questioned while gesturing to both Amethyst and Pearl.

To answer Naruto's question Steven broke out into a little dance of his own using what seemed to be every move he could think of while even trying to mimic some of Amethyst's and Pearl's own moves.

"Looks like you're ready for some fusion lessons to me" Naruto said, ruffling the small hybrid's hair, earning a cry of protest from Steven about messing up his hairdo.

Clearing her throat to gain everyone's attention Pearl focused her own onto the blond Shinobi. "Well Naruto, I believe now is the time to explain exactly how you're able to accomplish all these features that from a normal person's standpoint should be very impossible for a human being"

"It's cool and all dude but I'd like to know just as much as Pearl over here" Amethyst uncharacteristically agreeing with Pearl for once

"Ooh, ooh! Are we gonna get a awesome back story?! Let me get some popcorn!" Came Stevens voice, as excited as always as he rushed into the kitchen, the noises from the microwave keys already sounding off as Steven fiddled with it.

"I guess I did say I'd tell you all later. Well I'm not sure it's as exciting as Steven thinks it is but if it's what you all wanna hear I guess I can handle a trip down memory lane." Naruto caved, scratching the back of his head as he decided where to begin."

"Did you save any princesses!?" Steven Question, his body shaking in excitement with his pupils literally taking the shape of stars.

"Actually, there was, but that comes later into the story."

"Aww, okay. Popcorn's done! We can begin" Steven said as he placed himself on their couch, the gems following suit, as they waited for Naruto to begin his life story, Amethyst and Steven eating away at the popcorn while both Pearl and Garnet waited patiently.

"Well, I guess it all started on the night I was born, October 10th"

Hours passed as Naruto retold what had happened in his life up until this point and to say the gems and Steven were surprised would have been the understatement of the century, the looks they held and the barrage of questions they asked him both throughout and after his retelling showed just how unique his circumstances was, Steven himself seemed more accepting out of the lot, which he expected but what Naruto didn't expect was the little teen throwing himself at Naruto both with stars in his eyes and tears still cascading down his cheeks trying to console him of something he had long accepted. Before the half gem half human begged him to teach him "the way of the ninja" as Steven had put it, though much to the little boys displeasure, Naruto informed him of his lack of the natural energy that all beings possessed, though everyone had chalked it up to being a side effect of Steven's gem.

After the excitement died down Stevens fatigue caught up to him as he immediately started to literally droop, before garnet scooped him up and tucked him into bed. Naruto decided to get some air while also letting both Amethyst and Pearl continued discussing something about what he had just finished telling the. So here Naruto found himself, sitting on top of Stevens home, looking out onto the oceans black horizon.

"Everything is so different now, none of this resembles the world I was once apart of, I looked, looked for anything that resembled home and I found nothing." Naruto said out loud, as he felt the strong presence he associated with Garnet.

"A lot of time has passed and the one thing we the crystal gems found and appreciated about this world and all who came from it was it's ability to change. This might not be the home you came from but like us it can be your new home and knowing Steven he'll tell you the same thing, trust me." Garnet replied, placing a hand on his shoulder as more of a reassurance.

"Thanks Garnet" Was Naruto's simple reply as he sat there, taking in Garnet's surprisingly caring words and when he felt her presence retreat back into the house he continued his star gazing.

"New home huh?" He said to himself with a small smile on his face.
