Hush and Become the Night

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Poem from Persephone's POV
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Darkness surrounds me

Continually, I scream

To release from this dark abyss

But I hear a voice whisper this:

"Hush, Child of Light

Hush and become the night

No matter who will come for you

No matter what you do

You'll crave the darkness and me

And you'll wish you were never set free"

Oh! How I wish I could hit the voice's face

But I can see nothing in this place

I cry in the darkness

I screamed from the loneliness

Oh, how I wish I could see the sun

How I wish through fields I could run

I long for my mother's face

But I only see this nightmarish place

Oh, woe the days I've spent here

My light slowly disappears

Each day my memory dims

And my resistance arrows slim

Why can't anyone find me?

Why can't they save me?

Don't they see

What's becoming of me?

I'm slowly becoming part of the darkness

I'm losing my brightness

And I continually hear

That voice whispering in my ear

Saying "Hush, child of the light

Hush and become the night…"
