This is a fanfic. BUY THE FUCKING MERCHANDISE!
"…On second thought, put them all back. This probably isn't a good idea."
Staring at the large pile of books that Minato was carrying, Ruby couldn't even see the look he was giving her. Yang however had a perfect view since she walked up right beside the boy. When a minority of the pile was removed to reveal Minato's expression, his eyes were slightly narrowed which meant that he was internally asking whether Ruby was joking or not.
Yang laughed while putting the stack she had taken off Minato onto a table. "Come on, Ruby, don't let Minato's efforts go to waste." She said as her boyfriend set his pile down next to her. "Besides…" The blonde went quiet and had a small encouraging smile. "You want to find out what happened to your mom, don't you?"
With those words, Ruby's disturbed face at the stack of literature soon morphed into something else. At first it was confusion. After blinking a few times, it turned into curiosity. Soon, she wore a determined expression. "Mm." She grunted while nodding her head. "But still… I didn't think there would be this many books based on the supposed place mom was supposed to look at."
What Ruby was referring to be the journal Summer had written in and probably forgot at Beacon. Apparently, she was to scout a certain around the continent when Vale resided. For what though was not specified. That meant that out of all the material available to them was to be researched until any of them could make heads or tails of it. Also, the exact location was not given so that fact didn't help much either.
"At least we know it's on Sanus." Yang shrugged her shoulders. "That's a good start."
"Hmm… maybe…" Ruby mumbled while scratching her head. Sighing, she pulled up a chair and rested her chin right on top of the table. While Minato and Yang both grabbed their own seats, the blue-haired male wordlessly grabbed a book and handed it over towards Ruby. When the girl accepted, he did the same for Yang.
Before any of them could get down to business though, a voice interrupted them.
"What are you guys doing that requires this many books?"
Looking over, all remaining members of Team RWBY and ARNN were right behind Weiss. The white-haired girl was giving them an odd look while the others were curious. After all, seeing a few people with a mountain of books was perhaps something only seen in tv shows or comics.
Looking at one another, Ruby, Yang, and Minato didn't say a word. Well, it was more like Yang and Minato looking at Ruby. This was an issue that they were helping her with after all. Not only that, it was a family matter at the same time.
Ruby must have had a good feeling that issue was on their mind due to her turning her head in the direction of the small crowd. But Ruby's vision shifted back and forth between her family and friends. Seeing as how Yang and Minato were staying silent, she realized that it was up to her to say her decision.
Looking back at the crowd of teammates, Ruby lifted a book to help her point. Well… uhh… Ugh, how do I put this into a way that won't sound weird?" She mumbled to herself before determining what to say. "We're trying to find out what happened to my mom…"
"…What?" Weiss asked.
For the next few moments, Ruby slowly explained what was going on. About how Summer had died when she was just a toddler. But really, the only explanation she was given was because of the Grimm. That was it. Nothing about where Summer had gone or what the job was all about. Just the cause of death. But now with her journal, she could investigate.
After her explanation, everyone was left speechless. Mainly since Ruby pretty much gave it to them straight, albeit some hesitant wording here and there.
"W-wow…" Nora of all people was the one to break the silence with a quiet answer. Rubbing her arm, she didn't know where to look. "I… I lost my mom at a young age as well… So… not that I'm making the comparison or anything, but…"
"We both know how you feel." Ren helped supply for Nora, clapping a hand on her shoulder to comfort her. "This is something big for you, Ruby. Yet you told each one of us the truth. The truth to who could almost be considered a group of strangers… It must have been pretty hard to tell us."
"Uh… not really?" Ruby slightly questioned her own answer. "I mean… it was my own choice. A choice that I trust all of you, just like how I trust Yang and Minato." She then scratched her head. "Plus – what is a bit of a selfish thing – is that now that you guys know… maybe you can help us out if you want to?"
Minato's eyebrow raised up due to her confession. "Is that the reason why you told them what we were doing?" He questioned, almost sounding impressed at the idea.
Yang however snickered at the idea. "That is a crafty thing to think, sis." The remark came soon after Minato's question. "Now they're totally going to seem like jerks if they don't help."
Ruby's jaw dropped when Yang mentioned this and she waved her hands around. "N-no! That's not what I meant to do at all! I just didn't want to keep any secrets between us! If they don't want to help, that's fine!" She protested.
"…And just what makes you think that you know what we want to do or not?" Weiss suddenly questioned, sitting herself down so quickly nobody had the time to reply. "Was this the reason why you were so out for our first day?" Her question came with he action of folding her arms with a face that said she wouldn't leave until she got an answer.
Shocked, all Ruby could do was nod.
An unreadable gaze was sent by the white-haired female. "…Then I guess I could lend you my aid." Weiss grabbed one of the books from the pile and opened it. "It would be absolutely terrible for this issue to continue troubling you. Team RWBY would lose ranking and respect amongst the first years if your issue remains unsolved!" Looking over, she swallowed and shifted her seat closer to Ruby when the white-haired girl saw that Minato was keeping an eye on her.
With cheeks turning red with embarrassment, Ruby turned her face downwards to try and hide it. But everyone managed to get a quick glimpse. With small smiles, each teenager took their own seats while also sharing the books amongst themselves.
"So, is there anything specific that we're supposed to be looking for?" Blake asked, opening her own and looking at the table of contents.
Taken aback by their sudden action to help her, Ruby was frozen for few seconds. "We-well…" She stammered before beginning what she thought would be a good place to start.
As Ruby began to discuss everything with everyone, Minato felt another pair of eyes on him. A tap on the shoulder came a second later. Turning, Yang was the one who had committed the action. Gesturing with her thumb behind her, the blonde got up without anyone else noticing and walked away from the table.
Looking back, Minato silently excused himself from the table as well without any of them realizing it and followed Yang.
The blonde was the one to took the lead, travelling out of the library. It was slightly understandable at first to Minato. She just probably wanted a quick talk outside of the area. He didn't know why, but Yang had her reasons. The blonde though continued to walk through the slightly populated halls. Okay, maybe what she had to say was a bit more private than he expected so she didn't want to be close to the main crowd.
But then after a couple of minutes, they ended up at the dorms. Now that surprised him, especially when Yang opened her room, gestured him inside, and locked it when it was just the two of them.
"What's wrong?" Minato immediately asked, turning around when hearing a click from the knob that was connected to the wooden barrier. Having to talk in absolute isolation was an easy indicator that something was really on Yang's mind.
Yang scratched her head, a small frown staining her beautiful features as he could see her think of how to begin. "I guess I haven't really given it much though… At least… not until our first official day here at Beacon."
Minato raised an eyebrow and turned his head slightly, an indicator that he was intently listening.
"I think it started right when we got back from visiting our moms…" Yang began. "As soon as we got back, you proposed that our relationship get a little more… intimate." She scratched her red cheeks as she remembered their physical moment after his offer. "But after that you began being lenient to not only my antics, but also Ruby's. Not only that, you also have been a little more protective than usual over the both of us."
Only a couple of recent events came to mind. The first one was displaying their relationship right in front of the Beacon students when they had to sleep. That second kiss was not only stronger than she anticipated, but she didn't think he would even give a second one. The second main event was when Minato smashed Weiss' head through a lunch table. All Yang and Weiss were really doing were arguing. Originally, Minato would have just made sure to have them both stop by separating them from one another.
There are other situations that occurred, but those were the most recent that got Yang thinking back to the past.
Minato blinked.
To that, Yang snapped her fingers. "Don't try being innocent." She pointed. "There's something that visit stirred in you. Yeah, it's no secret that she's some evolved Grimm figure trying to eradicate humanity and Faunus-kind since we're all selfish. It's also a fact that my life will be in danger when Salem finds and gains the powers of the other two Maidens, one of which they do know is with my mother but don't know that it's her. So is there seriously a third issue I'm missing here?"
He watched her fold her arms with a frown on her face. But Yang was not angry with Minato. No, rather than that she was concerned. Out of all her family members, she was the one who first got to know him and therefore was with him the longest. Because of this, she was usually able to know what he was thinking or how his thought process plays out.
Turning his head, Minato stayed silent for a few seconds. "No, there is nothing that you are missing." He confirmed for the blonde, looking straight at her. "But it's those things about my mother that make me act as I have been recently."
Yang's features did not change. Instead, she walked towards her bed. Hoisting herself up, she patted the side next to her. Without a word, Minato mimicked her actions and ended up in the exact spot that had been touched.
"People say something along the line about living life to the fullest, yes?" Minato continued, getting a slow nod from Yang. "Well, that's about it. Even though I managed to win against Cinder and her cronies… I felt just how powerful a single Maiden can be. Can you imagine yourself facing someone with three Maidens can be?" Minato shook his head. "No amount of training alone may prepare you for that. So I figured that while it's best that you stay in top shape, that you should also go through life with as much joy as you can. Same goes for Ruby, I just want her to be happy."
Minato felt a fist punch the back of his head. It wasn't meant to be a gentle hit. The purpose was to most likely knock some sense into him as the point of contact stung for a few seconds. Unfortunately for Yang, it didn't seem to have that effect as he looked over at her with confusion.
"Do you want me to point out the flaws in your logic there?!" Yang questioned with a raised eyebrow. "So what about the Maidens? It's supposedly taken your mom quite a few years to find two of them! As much as I hate to admit it, my mom is pretty elusive so she won't be found so easily. With that factor how long do you think it would take her to find the Summer Maiden? Also, if you want Ruby and I to enjoy life, then just keep doing what you always have been since I first met you! Just living in the moment, not always having some heavy thoughts on your mind whenever watching the both of us!"
She then gestured to herself with her thumb. "Another thing, do you seriously have that little faith in me if it were to come down to a fight? You're also forgetting that I won't be alone if that fight were to ever happen." Yang claimed as she grabbed his hand and lifted it up while making direct eye contact with him. "I seriously doubt that you would leave me alone, especially during the fight. Not only that, but we got both our teams and family to back us up when the situation rises." Her grip tightened. "So don't go giving up on me like that, okay?"
All he could do was stare at her with surprise.
"…Do you understa-?!"
Yang couldn't finish since Minato kissed her.
Taken aback, Yang leaned back to try and get a better look at the scene. But Minato didn't give her the space as he followed her retreat. As he kept the pressure up, Yang eventually ended up with her back on the mattress and that was when Minato broke up the kiss. Leaning his head back with hands right next to her head, Minato saw the upper half of Yang's body move up and down at she took slow deep breaths due to shock.
Seeing Minato begin to shuffle back, Yang moved her legs. Wrapping them around his lower half, she indicated that she didn't want him to move. Understanding, Minato bent down and kissed her once again.
While they continued to kiss, the couple began to move their hands around the opposite gender's clothing.
Y13
Drumming his fingers on his desk, many things were going through Ozpin's mind. The shadows of the gears on the ceiling continued to turn, just like his thinking process.
Looking over to the monitor on his desk, the headmaster of Beacon Academy shifted his hands and typed in a few keys. After that, he began tapping a few file icons. Only a couple of screens popped up soon after.
The first was a small video of Minato fighting Yang at the Mistral Tournament. It was mainly a small segment, but he could clearly see that Grimm figure that Minato had conjured up to help him fight
Next to that was a recording of Yang during the test to enter Beacon Academy. Mainly the part when she beat up that Nevermore near the end. Looking closely, Ozpin swore he could make out just the faintest white light around her eyes.
But as soon as they each touched the final layer of clothing that was protecting the skin from being exposed into the open, they heard the door click and swing open. Minato and Yang both freeze in their intimate positioning and slowly look over.
Ruby: (Walks into the room and sees nearly naked Minato and Yang) Hey, why was the door lo- AAAAAAHHHHHH! (Covers her eyes while screaming in horror, trying to exit room but constantly bumps into furniture) WHY?! WHY ARE YOU DOING THAT IN OUR ROOM?! (Closes her eyes and cups hands around mouth) NORA, COME HERE AND SEE THIS!
Nora: (Hearing Ruby, walks into room and seeing nearly naked Minato and Yang) What's got you in such a- OOOOOOHHHHHH! (Covers her eyes while screaming in shock, trying to exit the room but constantly bumps into furniture) THAT IS REALLY! REALLY DARING! (Closes her eyes and cups hands around mouth) PYRRHA, COME HERE AND SEE THIS!
At least… something like that would be… something to see happen…
Ugh… seriously, I have not been feeling it during these recent chapters. But I'll keep doing my best so I can reach the segment that I have at the ready… kind of.
No flames please.
