Damn the last update was two years ago… time flies.
Well this isn't a true update to the story because I have honestly decided to scrap this story because I really don't have a gameplan for the long term. I still do have interest in writing a story, so I transitioned into Kingdom Hearts, which I inherently know a lot more about. I just uploaded my Kingdom Hearts x RWBY story, "Kingdom Hearts: Grimm Remnant" and I will now be working on that, though no guarantee that I will persist like with this story, because at least with KH it's something I'm a lot more familiar with. Though it doesn't mean that I'm not gonna include some Fate :)
I am actually down for someone else to take the helm of this story. If anyone is willing to pick up where I left off, feel free to review this story or DM me and I will decide who will take on this story. The direction I originally wanted to go included FGO elements like the Beast Servants and even cameos of pre-existing Servants, but it was too much for me as a first-time writer. Plus I wrote this around Volume 4-5 and the trajectory of the story took a MASSIVE redirection by Volume 7's conclusion. I understand if the new writer takes this story in a new direction and I'll be fine with it because I will be completely hands off lol.
I'd like to clarify something before I end. Some of you have mentioned, and a lot have probably wondered, how Gilgamesh is acting a bit OOC. One reason for that is because it would be more difficult for me to write the story when Gilgamesh retains his personality from F/Z and F/SN. Thankfully, I can justify this. For those who haven't played Fate Grand Order or Fate Extra CCC, he is actually more chilled out. Grand Order actually has a Caster version of him, which is him when he was King of Uruk. This is from the Type Moon Wiki on Caster Gil: "Differently from when he is an Archer, his way of being in this form is not of a hero that personifies raging power, but that of a wise king that governs the masses."
And perhaps the most solid explanation would be from his description in CCC: "Gilgamesh's personality is heavily influenced by the era into which he is summoned. The world, his property, of Fate/Stay Night was sullied by the consumption society of the early 2000s, so he was in a worse mood overall. He has taken a liking to the virtual world of 2032, so his personality is more stable and closer to how it was during life. Arco Wada says he reminded her of Gilgamesh in Fate/Hollow Ataraxia."
Gilgamesh wasn't always the arrogant prick in Zero or Stay Night. He was just displeased with the state of his "possession" (aka the Earth) during the 4th and 5th Grail Wars. Since Remnant was technically never in his "possession", he would not be agitated. He still has his kingly nature, but kings do need the judgement of others. That is why many rulers have advisors and secretaries. There would be decisions that can't be made by just one person. Caster Gil did have Siduri afterall.
With that being said, have a good day!
