I'm totally ruining the show! Go me!
UnderGrads
Summer Woes
Nitz wandered back to the Chilton Hall, wondering about Jesse's words to him about the party, and wondering what she had meant. Yeah, she had said stuff about it being annoying for someone to be a shoulder to cry on and stuff, but what was that supposed to mean?
Nitz got to the dorms and went in, passing people as they bounded by, ecstatic that the year was through. Brody and Kroeger were looking oddly content, after their little screaming fit, which seemed to have relieved some stress. Brody was still a bit bitchy about the exams though.
Nitz found his room (Cal had taken their sign down, at last) and opened to find his stuff, alone, while Cal's was packed.
"Hey guy!" Cal said as Nitz shut the door. "What's up roomie Nitz guy?"
"Nothing Cal," Nitz said. "Nothing at all."
"Did you see Kimmy at the party, guy?" Cal slurped.
Nitz nodded.
"Yay!"
Nitz had to roll his eyes as he began to pack.
Moments later, the door opened with a slam. Rocko came in, looking as happy as ever.
"Hey Nitz, what happened last night, man?"
"I don't want to talk about it now, Rocko," Nitz said in a somewhat irritatted voice.
"Nitz got laid, all right!" He turned to Cal. "In yo face!"
"Shut up Rocko," Nitz said calmly. "You're being an idiot."
"I'm moderately aware."
The phone rang, much to Nitz's frustration. Cal picked up.
"Hello?" There was a pause. "Oh, hey Gimpy guy!" Pause. "Uh huh… yeah, Nitz guy is here…" Pause. "Hold on best buddy Gimpy guy."
He held the phone out to Nitz. "It's Gimpy!"
"I couldn't have guessed," Nitz muttered. He took the phone from his drooling friend. "Yeah Gimp?"
"Nitz, your folks phoned. When are you going to be home?" Gimpy asked.
"When Rocko, Cal and I finish up here."
"Van's ready," Rocko said.
"We'll be leaving in an hour," Nitz guessed, estimating the time he'd need to pack.
"All right. Call the parental units. They demand answers."
"Later Gimp," Nitz said, hanging up as the phone piped, "Star Wars!"
Nitz packed hurriedly as Cal and Rocko reminisced about their first year at college.
"… and Craigy and I pushed the goat through the window, yelling "Alpha Alpha!". And those damned Zeta Beta Alpha puds were all like, "Up yours!, and--"
"That didn't happen, did it Rocko?"
Rocko shook his head and lit another cigarette.
"I had a great year, guys!" Cal said, in his usual dreamy tone. "All the nice ladies… they gave me sex! Hooray for sex!"
"Hooray this…" Rocko muttered, feigning a jab at Cal.
"Aw, you're funny guy."
"Aw, you're a pud Cal," Rocko snapped back.
"Guys, calm down," Nitz said absentmindedly. "Help me pack."
Rocko lifted one of the heavier boxes and carried it outside. Cal attempted to, but let out a tiny scream and fell back.
"Heavy, guy!" his whispered.
Nitz took the one Cal had tried and heaved it outside, then the last one. "C'mon Cal," he called and locked the door after his friend. Cal took the lightest box and they made their way outside.
Nitz drove, because he was afraid that Rocko may crash them into something (may?) or that Cal would be too distracted by a bird or something to drive. The van handled well and he had no problem getting back to their neighborhood. They were greeted by a squinting Gimpy, looking his frailest, and Nitz's parents.
