Kurama woke up shivering. Slowly, he cracked his eyes open, glaring at the open window. "Damn it, Hiei," he whispered through his chattering teeth.

"What?"

Slowly, Kurama shut the window, crawling back to the bed, "It's freezing in here," he hissed, pulling his sheet up to his chin and glaring at the shadow perched on the foot of his bed, "Hiei, give me back my blanket."

"No," grinning, the hiyoukai burrowed further into it, red eyes glinting mischievously. "Hiei, come now. It's late, and I'm cold. Please return my blanket to me."

"Hmm," he cocked his head, pretending to contemplate, "No. I think I'll keep it."

Huffing, irritated, Kurama mumbled about stubborn fire demons and thorns, shivering and glaring at the wall. His eyes widened at the sound of snickering, and he felt a dip on the other side of his bed. "Cold, fox?"

"You know I am," he murmured, brows furrowing at the unusual behavior. Slowly, the heavy blanket covered him, and he chuckled when heated arms wrapped firmly around his waist and chest.

"Hiei," he grinned, "If you wanted to cuddle, you only needed to ask..."

"Shut up fox," Hiei snorted, "I'm not cuddling you. You're cold and I'm warming you up." Kurama could feel the smile against his shoulder blade and he sighed happily, turning to tuck his head under his lover's chin.

"Whatever you say, firefly," he yawned, eyelids closing and sleep returning quickly.

Grinning, Hiei snuggled into his back, kissing the nape of the kitsune's neck, "Sleep well, fox."
