Chapter 20 –

Getting a call from Sam, and asking him to come around and check one of the power outlets down in the basement that didn't seem to be working. After switching off the main power, he found that the particular outlet Sam was having issues with had a faulty switch and the reason it wasn't working.

Taking the time to take switch over with a new outlet, he finished installing it and put the power back on and checked to make sure it was then working, and being satisfied that it was all okay he then gathered up his tools and headed upstairs.

Heading up from the basement to the main level, he walked into the kitchen and saw Sam sitting at the counter of the kitchen bench, typing on his phone.

"Hey" said Sam, looking to his younger brother. "Everything good?"

"Yeah all fixed" he replied, with a nod. "The connection in the switch of the outlet you got me to look at, it wasn't connecting anymore" he continued, as Sam looked to him with a nod. "So I've replaced it with a new one, and it's all working okay now"

"Great, thanks" replied Sam, with a smile to her younger brother. "Now I can move my stuff around down there"

"No problem" he said, with a small laugh. "Just know you owe me one"

"Sure, yeah of course" replied Sam with a laugh; as Puck and Rachel, who had been in South Carolina for the weekend meeting that of Rachel's birth mother and family walked into the kitchen.

"Hi" said Puck as he and Rachel saw the two of them. "You didn't blow the fuses in my house now, did you Sammy?"

"No" replied Sam, with a laugh and looking to his best friend. "Just a faulty power outlet down in the basement"

"Okay, good glad to hear" said Puck, with a laugh.

"So how was it meeting your birth mom?" asked Sam, looking to Rachel who over the months that she had been living in San Francisco had come to see as a friend.

"Umm, yeah it was good" replied Rachel, with a small smile to him. "They're all really nice" she continued, and looked to Ryder. "But if you're uncomfortable my speaking of them, then I respect that"

"No, it's fine" said Ryder, looking to her. "I understand that my ex wife is your cousin" he continued, as Ryder nodded. "And what happened between her and me shouldn't affect your relationship with her and anyone else in the family"

"Yeah, I just maybe might have blurted out that you and Sarah are having a baby together though" said Rachel, with a small smile to him. "As I wasn't aware that your reason for divorcing was because you and Marley weren't going to have children together"

"Oh" said Ryder, looking to her as his eyes widened. "What did she say about that?"

"Umm, well they were all kind of in shock to be honest and I think Marley maybe felt kind of hurt hearing it" she replied, as Ryder looked to her nod and Sam and Puck also looked to her as well. "But she's also with someone new as well"

"That's good" said Ryder, with a small smile to Rachel. "And hopefully she is finding what she is wanting with him"

"Yeah, they all seem to speak positively about him" said Puck, as Ryder looked to him. "We didn't meet him, because he and Marley have only been together a few months" he continued, as Ryder gave a small nod. "But from what I did speak with Mikki about afterwards, and to have her make sure Marley wasn't hurt by what she had found out. She did seem to like this guy that Marley was now seeing"

"And I'm glad too, you asked as well" said Ryder, looking to the older male he had known for many years since he was younger. "I would never want to hurt Marley, and I guess I never thought that she would find out"

"I'm sorry that I said it" replied Rachel, and Ryder looked to her with a nod. "But if they are to be in my life, I guess it was inevitable that they might find out one day anyway"

"Yes, that's true" said Sam, as Rachel looked over to him with a nod. "So you met your mom and her side of the family" he continued, as Rachel nodded again. "What about your dad's side? Did you find anything out about him?"

"I did, yeah" replied Rachel, as looked around the room. "His name in Donovan, and he actually lives in New York, would you believe"

"Wow, that's kind of pretty trippy" said Sam, with a small laugh as Rachel looked to him with a smile. "It is, yes" replied Rachel, with a small laugh as well. "And I've spoken with him over the phone, as Shelby my mom; she had his phone number" she continued, as Sam looked to her with a nod. "And I am going to go over in a few weeks time with Ethan and stay with my Dads and meet him and his family"

"And I'm sure you'll be catching up with Brittany in that time too" said Sam, as Rachel looked to him with a small nod.

"Definitely, yes" she replied with a smile to him; as Ryder looked to his older brother with a laugh, knowing that he still cared very deeply for his ex girlfriend who now lived in New York, and couldn't help but wonder if the two of them would ever find happiness together, before he then farewelled those in the house and headed to the other jobs that he had on that day.

Not ever thinking, he'd be one day assembling that of a crib, albeit for himself as it turned out to; and not that of assisting maybe one of his brothers or sister; Ryder was in what was to be the nursery of his soon to be born child with his girlfriend, Sarah; getting help from that of his older brother Sam, who owed him for fixing the faulty electrical outlet in the basement where he lived at the Puckerman house; on the assembly of a crib that the other weekend he and Sarah had gone and purchased at Ikea.

"Okay what's the next step?" asked Ryder, as he tightened that of the long screws into base of the crib, and looking to his brother who seemingly had a very confused look on his face. "Sam, everything okay?"

"I hate flat packs" said Sam, with a sigh. "Sure they have pictures, but it's not like they stick all the different screws and all the other bits in little individual bags and put the item number of them"

"Yeah, and hence why I don't think Sarah was particularly wanting to do this" said Ryder, with a laugh as Sam looked to his younger brother with a nod.

"Smart move, instead and make us do it" he replied. "Okay, I think the dowels are the short stumpy ones and not the long narrow ones"

"That's your technical term for them?" asked Ryder with a laugh as Sam rummaged through the assembly parts that he had on the floor near him and looking for the parts.

"Yes, that is my technical term" he replied, with a nod. "I think I shall patent it"

"Hey, at least you'll be a pro at this next time" said Ryder, with a smile to his brother as Sam handed the dowels over to him.

"Next time" he said, with a laugh as Ryder looked to the instructions also and see where they had to go. "If Mason or Madi, call me up and ask. The answer will be flat out no"

"What if it's your own kid?" asked Ryder, looking to him with a smile and Sam gave a small laugh.

"Doubt that will happen anytime soon" he replied, as Ryder gave a laugh also.

"Hey, if I can come around to the idea of having children and being a step parent, as well" replied Ryder, as Sam looked to his younger brother. "Then I'm sure you being a parent is also a possibility" he continued, as Sam looked to his brother still. "How's Britts ankle healing anyway?"

"It's going to take some time" he replied, with a nod to him. "And even then there is a good chance that she won't ever get back on stage again in the same kinds of role she was doing before"

"So, maybe she can come back here and teach again" said Ryder, as Sam looked to him. "She taught before, and she did love doing it, right"

"She loved it, yeah" replied Sam, with a nod as he picked up the wooden dowels needed for the next step. "But still she also loves too being on stage, and that is where she really shines"

"Yeah, I guess" said Ryder, with a smile to his older brother. "So you going to give me those short stumpy things?"

"Short stumpy things" said Sam, with a laugh and passing them over to Ryder; who placed them into where Sam indicated and the two of them got on with the assembling of the cot for the soon to be born baby for Ryder and Sarah.

#ID##ID##ID##ID##ID##ID##ID##ID##ID##ID##ID##ID##ID##ID##ID##ID##ID##ID##ID##ID##ID##ID##ID##ID##ID##ID##ID##ID##ID##ID##ID##ID##ID##ID##ID##ID##ID##ID##ID#

Whilst Ryder and Sam, put the crib together for the baby that she would be giving birth to in near to three months time. Sarah went out shopping with her older sister Juanita, and the two children she now had with Nick; Matthew who was twenty months old and Jessica who was six months old, so that Nick was able to get some marking done for his classes.

"So do you think you and Ryder will maybe get married once your baby is born?" asked Juanita, looking to her younger sister, as she fed Jessica who was seated in the front section of the double stroller that she now used for both her children; as they sat in the food court of the local shopping center.

"I'm not sure" replied Sarah, looking to her sister as she ate some of the lunch she had purchased. "Ry and I, have both been married before and to be quite honest I don't know if that is something I want to do again"

"Yeah, okay" said Juanita, looking to her sister with a nod. "Just you know at least if the two of you were married, there be some more stability to know that this is also something Ryder is wanting as well especially with the whole children thing"

"I know he said when we first started dating, that he didn't want to have children" replied Sarah, as Juanita, took a sip of her boba tea that she had gotten. "But people are able to change their opinions on things" she continued, as Jessica shook her head as Juanita held the spoon out to her daughter; clearly not wanting any more food. "After all you did" she said, with a smile and looked to her nephew who was seated next to her sister at the table, eating that of a McDonalds Happy Meal nugget meal. "And now have two children under two years old"

"Yes, that is true" said Juanita, looking to her sister as she screwed the lid back onto the container that she had food for Jessica in, and placed in back into the baby bag she was also carrying on the stroller. "I did however know from quite early on in to getting together with Nicky, that he was wanting children though and it's not like I was ever against the idea of having them" she continued. "Whereas with Ryder, the whole reason he and his ex wife divorced was because he wasn't wanting that"

"It wasn't all because of that, okay Nits" said Sarah, with a frustrated sigh and looking to her older sister. "Yes, it may have been one reason" she continued, as Juanita looked to her. "But also there were other things as well that did contribute to them ending"

"Well his ex wife's sister is a cow" said Juanita, with a small laugh. "That one I know"

"Hmm, can't comment on that since I didn't meet any of them obviously" replied Sarah, looking to her sister. "But also as well, Ryder did mention that in the bedroom he wasn't satisfied with his ex wife"

"Figures she be a bit of a prude, considering who her sister was" said Juanita, as Sarah gave a small nod; knowing what had happened between Blaine and Mikki when they had been together. "And for the life of me I could never tell what Blaine ever saw in that of her"

"I don't know" said Sarah, shaking her head. "As like I said, I didn't meet either of them to actually say" she continued, as Juanita nodded her head. "But to address you concern, I do feel as if Ryder's views on children may have changed"

"I just really hope you're right" said Juanita, with a small smile to her sister. "Because, I would hate to think what I and the others would do to him if he were to hurt you"

"Oh, we know you and the guys are all talk" said Sarah, with a laugh. "You never did anything to Hunter when he and I divorced"

"That's not to say we didn't want to though, we just knew that he'd be able to hold his own against us" replied Juanita, with a laugh also. "But there were many fantasies of me pushing him over a cliff or something like that"

"A cliff, really?" asked Sarah, looking to her older sister and shaking her head. "You're a criminalist and that's the best you can come up with for a death"

"I'd make it look like an accident" said Juanita, with a smile to her. "Making sure it was a high tide when I was to do it, so that the body would drift out to sea and never been seen again"

"Okay, should I be warning Nick about your clearly very somewhat clear mindset on how to get rid of someone?" she asked, with a laugh as Juanita shook her head.

"There is no way that I am going to be doing that to him" said Juanita, with a laugh. "I'm not raising two kids on my own"

"Hmm, and how ever many more the two of you have in the future also" said Sarah, with a laugh as Juanita looked to her younger sister shaking her head.

"No, two is enough" she replied, with a smile to her sister. "I'm definitely not doing a Mom and Dad thing, and having eight kids, or even going as insane as the boys and having three to fours kids" she continued, as Sarah gave a laugh. "Two is plenty for me, one of each"

"Yeah, I think I agree with you there" replied Sarah, as Juanita gave a nod; and the two of them finished off eating their lunch before continuing on with their shopping, before they both went home their separate ways to the people they also now also called family.

#ID##ID##ID##ID##ID##ID##ID##ID##ID##ID##ID##ID##ID##ID##ID##ID##ID##ID##ID##ID##ID##ID##ID##ID##ID##ID##ID##ID##ID##ID##ID##ID##ID##ID##ID##ID##ID##ID##ID#

Arriving back home, with Sam still being at the house; finishing off along with Ryder getting the change table that they had also bought from Ikea the same day as getting the crib.
Ryder, once they were done walked his brother out to his car; as Sarah got a start on placing some of the clothes that she had already purchased into the drawers of the change table, for their soon to be born son.

"So the change table and crib" said Ryder, coming back into what would be their babies room when they were born. "They're in okay positions?"

"Yes, fine" replied Sarah, with a smile to her boyfriend. "I'm sure we can always move them later if we were wanting to change them"

"We could, yeah" said Ryder, with a nod. "So how was shopping with your sister?"

"It was okay" replied Sarah, with a small sigh. "She was though curious as to how serious we were, and wondering if we would get married"

"Oh" said Ryder, looking to her as Sarah nodded. "Did you want that?"

"Marriage?" asked Sarah, as Ryder nodded. "To be honest with you, it doesn't faze me really" she continued, as Ryder looked to her. "I think Nits fear comes from more that she knew when we met, that you weren't wanting children, and now we're having a baby together and thinks maybe one day you might just run off and leave me with our child"

"I thought I didn't want children" said Ryder, stepping over closer to Sarah and wrapping his arms around her. "But I do want to have them now" he continued as Sarah looked to him with a nod. "And I'm sure when our little boy is born, that there will be that moment like my Dad said, when I just think yeah this is it, and it's amazing"

"You really think that?" asked Sarah, with a smile to him and Ryder nodded quickly kissing her.

"I do, yeah" he replied, with a smile. "And I even adore Zoey as if she were a daughter too" he continued, as Sarah gave a nod. "Who we both know is looking really forward to being a big sister"

"Hmm, not just with our one either" said Sarah, with a laugh. "But also with Hunter and Kendall as well"

"Yeah" said Ryder, with a laugh also. "And you know maybe one day, we might think marriage is the step we want to take" he continued, as Sarah nodded. "But for right now, I'm pretty happy with what we've got"

"Me too" said Sarah, with a smile and kissed him. "Do you think we have some time before Hunter brings Zoey back home, for us"

"What do you have in mind?" asked Ryder, with a smile to her and Sarah looked to him with a small smile of her own and laugh, taking that of his arms from around her and then his hand.

"You'll just have to come to our bedroom now and see" she said, with a smile to him; and giving a laugh, Ryder followed Sarah to their bedroom, to have some adult time before Zoey returned later in the day following her weekend with her father.

#ID##ID##ID##ID##ID##ID##ID##ID##ID##ID##ID##ID##ID##ID##ID##ID##ID##ID##ID##ID##ID##ID##ID##ID##ID##ID##ID##ID##ID##ID##ID##ID##ID##ID##ID##ID##ID##ID##ID#

Picking Zoey up from school, and it being a Friday afternoon; Sarah took her daughter around to Hunter's house to spend the weekend with him. Pulling into the driveway of the place her ex husband now lived, she only saw that of his new wife's car out in front of the house, and turned off the engine of her car.

"Looks like your Dad isn't home yet" said Sarah, with a small smile to her daughter as the two of them got out of her car; and Zoey going to the trunk of the car and opening that to grab the bag that she would bring with her for stays at her father's house.

"That's okay, Kendall is here" said Zoey, now aged seven years old; with a smile to her mother.

"Yes, I can see" replied Sarah, with a nod as the two of them walked up to the front door and her pushing the doorbell to let Kendall, who was that of Hunter's new wife that they had arrived. "Remember, no being anything but good this weekend" said Sarah looking to her daughter. "Kendall is dealing with a lot at the moment" she continued as the front door opened and Kendall Morgan – Woodruff looked to them with a smile and laugh.

"Kendall feels as if Zoey is never a problem" she said, looking to the two of them. "And she is always a joy to have over"

"I know" replied Sarah, with a smile to the other woman. "Just know it can't be easy for you at the moment"

"Honestly, I have been doing a little better" said Kendall with a nod. "The hyperemesis gravidarum hasn't been all this bad this week"
"Still, I can't imagine being that sick" said Sarah, with a smile to her as Kendall looked to her shaking her head.

"It's not the most pleasant" said Kendall with a small smile. "Come on inside. Hunter shouldn't be too far away, he just had a late appointment today"

"Okay, thank you" replied Sarah, with a nod and smile as Kendall allowed the two of them to walk into the house.

"Zo, honey" said Kendall, looking to her step daughter as she closed the door. "Why don't you go and put your bag upstairs and then you can come down to the kitchen for a milkshake before dinner"

"Sure, thanks Kendall" replied Zoey, with a nod to her step mother and headed up the stairs to her room when she stayed over.

"Would you like a cup of tea maybe?" asked Kendall, looking to Sarah. "I've found that and water is the only thing at the moment I can stomach"

"Yes, that would be nice" replied Sarah, with a nod as she followed Kendall into the kitchen of her home. "So, are you prepared at all for the birth?"

"Oh god no" said Kendall with a laugh, as she went and put the kettle on. "If it were to be one baby then maybe I might be" she continued as she got some cups from out of the cupboard. "But three, all at once. I'm not at all prepared and honestly quite dreading it" she laughed as she put some tea bags into the cups. "What about you?"

"Umm, almost all set up with nursery" said Sarah, as Kendall looked to her with a nod. "And I'd not be stressing too much, you still have five months as compared to my six weeks now"

"Yes" said Kendall with a small laugh. "If I get to six weeks and not ready, that's when I will start to panic"

"I can tell you one thing that is certain" said Sarah, with a smile to Kendall. "Once you hold that little baby in your arms, all the worry and fear that you had. It disappears"

"Yes, so my sister has also told me" replied Kendall with a small laugh. "I very much look forward to the moment when I get to hold them in my arms and see their gorgeous faces and their tiny hands and feet" she continued, as Sarah looked to her with a nod. "Do you need Hunter and I, to be looking after Zoey for you when you're about due"

"No, it should be fine" replied Sarah, with a smile to her. "My mother and father, aren't all that far from me and have told me that I can call anytime of the day or night, and that they will come over"

"If you find that they aren't able to" said Kendall, looking to her as the kettle boiled and Zoey also came into the kitchen. "Then you know that Zoey is more than welcome here"

"When I am welcome here?" asked Zoey, going over to the fridge and grabbing out the container of milk, and Kendall looked over to her step daughter with a smile.

"When your Mom and Ryder have your little brother" she replied as Zoey poured some milk into a tall glass. "If your grandparents can't look after you at that time" she continued, as the young girl gave a nod. "You're more than welcome to be here whilst all that is happening"

"Could I do that Mom?" asked Zoey looking over to her mother. "Stay with Dad and Kendall when you and Ryder are at the hospital?" she asked, with a smile to her. "I can help out and get things done for Kendall and my sisters, like I have being doing for my brother"

"I don't want to be imposing on your father and Kendall" said Sarah, looking to her daughter with a small smile, as Kendall looked to Sarah.

"Really, it won't be an imposition and we'd love to have her stay with us" said Kendall and Sarah looked to her with a small nod and smile.

"Only if you're really sure" she replied, as Kendall gave a nod. "And Hunter is also okay with it"

"I'm sure he will be" said Kendall, with a smile to her; and the three of them continued to talk until Hunter arrived home and then Sarah left what was now the Woodruff family to head back to her own house and have a quiet weekend with Ryder whilst Zoey spent some time with her other parents.

End Note: Letting Ryder know that Marley knows, and also him knowing that she is now also happy as well; I think is an important step for him to be the best that he can be in his new relationship, and also as well to seeing those other people in his life with Sarah who are going to play an important part for him as well.

Next chapter of something up will be up soon, don't know what yet; and until then thanks for reading.

Love always,
