Ryuuji woke up to something very strange. Taiga, his wife, wasn't lying sound asleep next to him. She usually woke up after him.

Ryuuji stumbled out of bed, rubbing his eyes. He walked out into his living room, searching for Taiga.

On the couch sat Taiga, her tiny form curled up into herself. Ryuuji sat next to her.

"Hey. Why're you up early?"

"Because I woke up early…"

Ryuuji was expecting her to call him an 'idiot' at least once in that sentence.

"You okay, Taiga?" Ryuuji asked.

"…I'm fine."

"You don't seem fine," Ryuuji pressed. Taiga slammed her fist down on the couch.

"I'm fine, okay!?"

Ryuuji looked slightly surprised at her yelling. Taiga stood up then, walking towards the bedroom they shared.

"I need some time alone…"

Ryuuji sat there, thinking. What on earth just happened?

Ryuuji decided that he should make breakfast after a minute of thinking. Taiga needed her space for now.

He put a pan on the stove and began cooking eggs. He also started some rice.

When Ryuuji was done cooking, he put both bowls on the table. He went to his room.

He knocked.

"Taiga! Breakfast is ready!" Ryuuji called. No reply.

"Taiga?"

Another minute of silence.

"I'm coming in!"

When he entered, he saw Taiga curled up under their blanket. He remembered when she had done the same some years back.

Ryuuji rushed to her side.

"Taiga, is something wrong?"

Ryuuji's heart sunk when she looked up with tears streaming down her face.

"…I'm sorry, Ryuuji…" Taiga said, looking down.

"Sorry about what?"

"…It's just…I must cause a lot of trouble for you…" Taiga said quietly.

"Taiga, what are you talking about?" Ryuuji asked, placing a hand on her shoulder.

"It's just…well, last night I had a dream…that I snapped at you, and well…you said that you were done with me, so you…just…left…and well…it terrified me. When I woke up, I was absolutely terrified…" Taiga said.

Ryuuji's heart sunk. This was one of Taiga's biggest fears and insecurities. She had been afraid of messing up and being given up on for years now.

And now…

Ryuuji suddenly wrapped his arms around her, causing the blanket to fall off.

"Ryuuji?" Taiga asked, surprised.

"Taiga…I need you to know…no matter what you say, or what you do…no matter how you act, or what you think…no matter how much you change, or how much distance is between us…I'll always love you."

Taiga suddenly relaxed.

"Ryuuji…you're such an…Idiot…"

Ryuuji smiled at this.

"I know, I know."

Taiga sniffed the air.

"Do I smell…rice?"

"Oh yeah…totally forgot about tha-"

Taiga suddenly pulled away, rushing out.

Ryuuji smiled.

Any day with Taiga was always an entertaining day.

And he didn't want it to stop anytime soon.
