Decision Gone Wrong

Chapter 4

.

"Leverrier is still on the loose, Neah."

There was silence between them.

.

"I…" Allen started, pausing mid sentence and shook his head lightly, "No, that's alright."

"Just spit it." The other male puffed out another dose of vaporized nicotine, his head tilting up as he leaned against his car. "Leverrier is still out there, it's just a matter of time before he finds you here. So-" He turned his head, facing Allen now, "You only have until then to decide if you're leaving them here."

Allen stared ahead, eyebrows knitted slightly, "I know that."

"You said he remembered nothing. And you yourself agreed that it's better that he forgets. So what's holding you back now?"

"Tyki."

Tyki sighed, "Allen we both know you can't stay in one town for too long." He saw the other flinched from the corner of his eyes.

"I'm… I'm alright now, he isn't a trigger to me anymore."

"Is he now?"

Out of the sudden, Tyki pushed Allen onto the car roof, trapping the teen under himself. "Tyki! What-" His mouth covered by the hand next to his head, Allen could smell the remainenscent nicotine on the other's hand.

"!" His silver eyes widen in fear.

.

"Allen, don't act like Neah."

Those disgusting breaths behind his ears.

"Stop this please! I don't like this-"

"He's dead, you're not."

The teen won't stop.

The pain from his lower region was killing him. He screamed, yelled, begged even - yet the teen behind him did not stop.

"He's gone 'cause he's being a bad child."

How laughable, yet all he could get out was moans of pain and sobs.

"Please stop… It really hurts…"

He once thought that losing his identity as Neah was bad.

"Such a good child, Allen… You're incredible."

What is he now? His brother's replacement?

What did this teen take his brother for?! If this was what he always wanted to do to Allen-

Unforgivable.

Disgusting.

Something hot was pouring into him, but he was too exhausted to care.

All he knew was how everything was hurting - his body, his face, his mind, everything.

.

He's trembling, Tyki noted.

Sighing, he relaxed his grip on the silvette's mouth, "tell me Allen," he pulled the now-trembling teen into his embrace, patting him gently on the back, "if this is enough to make you goes into this mode, what makes you think you can remain calm when he stands before you in person?"

Allen buries himself deeper into the embrace, still gasping.

"You need to move every five years, to ensure that psycho couldn't get to you."

"I know, Tyki…" It was merely a soft whisper, so soft that Tyki won't be able to head if he hadn't been paying attention.

"It's your fifth year in this town."

It wasn't that he wanted to do this to his family; he had to.

There was once they let their guards down and Leverrier found them. Even though he didn't manage to lay a finger onto his younger sibling, the side effects were bad still.

Hyperventing, screamings and crying that went on for so long at night during the whitenett's dreamland upon just seeing that bastard from far- It's heartbreaking to hear them.

That was the reason he was so shocked to learn that Allen's married in this town.

Did the spouse understand the situation? Was Allen forced into this? Had Allen considered the consequences and risks of staying?

"... Tyki, you know how much this means to me-"

"And so have you confirmed that he remembered nothing."

"He doesn't have to remember-" Allen raised his head in response.

"You still don't understand," another sigh.

Looking straight into the pools of silver, he finally breaks the news.

"I have sources telling me that Leverrier is now in this town."

.

Decision Gone Wrong

.

Something felt out-of-place.

Kanda opened his eyes, staring at the ceiling, unsure. His eyes slowly move left and right trying to find what was it that was bothering him, trying his best to not wake Alma who was just sleeping beside him.

Everything looked normal. Nothing was wrong, so what was that feeling he felt?

"Hm... Yuu? What's wrong?" Alma opened his tired eyes lazily, staring at Kanda curiously. Kanda placed his palm on Alma's head, petting his head gently as he coaxed Alma back to sleep. After seconds of petting, Alma once again drifted back to dreamland.

Just as he gave up on trying to figure out what was bothering him mentally, he felt it again. A nagging pulse that was attracting him to stay awake, to do something. The feeling slowly grew in amount, soon, it consumed Kanda whole from the inside. He knew he had to do something, but what was it that he needed to do?

Shutting his eyes in annoyance, he forced the nagging feeling to the back of his head.

When the alarm clock started screaming at the top of its lungs, Kanda almost smashed it into pieces.

He could not sleep.

At all.

"Yuu, are you alright...? Do you need more sleep?" He heard Alma asking him in a worried tone beside him. Glaring at the mirror before him, he scowled at his reflection. He breathed a deep breath, hoping to calm his senses down.

Fuck yeah I need them.

Just when he was going to pull the covers over himself, his phone rang.

Oh for fuck's sake-

"Yuu, what happened to Allen?! He wasn't answering my calls! Did both of you get into a fight?"

The two occupants in the room stared into each other, furrowing their brows.

"Old man, for fuck's sake its fucking 8 in the morning! For all you know, the bean sprout simply overslept and missed your goddamn call!"

"Why is he apologizing in the text? Why isn't he coming back?!"

"Say what now?"

"Check on him now!"

No other words needed, the two jumped up from their bed, rushing towards Allen's room, barging in by force.

"...Allen?" Panic rose at the back of their throat.

The room was… Empty.

Too empty, in fact. It was almost as if no one stayed in here before.

It's back, the nagging feeling in his heart beats once more, stronger than before.

Alma clung onto Kanda, shaking, "... Allen…?"

Holding Alma by his side, Kanda stepped into Allen's room.

It was the first time he stepped into this room. Even though they had been married for three years, he never once entered here. The white bed sheet, the light blue colored curtains, the neat table at the side - everything was so new to him.

Something's not right.

He looked around, inspecting the room with Alma still clinging to his hand. It was then that he saw the piece of paper on the table. He walked towards the table and picked up the paper.

I'm sorry. Good bye.

He could feel his heart shattering into tiny pieces, the nagging feeling now turned into something else that he could no longer pinpoint. It was new to him, but at the same time, it felt familiar, almost as if he had felt it before in the past.

He should be sad, just like Alma; or maybe, happy that Allen was gone.

Why was he feeling something else inside him?

.

"...Are you going to be alright?"

"... I think so?"

.

Ah, that's right.

It was back then when the child answered him in such a monotone.

The child had given up fighting he could tell.

He was mad at the child for surrendering his life to them.

Who were "they"?

He could not remember clearly who it was that he was referring to when he mentioned them, all he knew was that they were doing something terrible to the child.

He was mad.

Does that mean he's mad at Allen now?

But why?

Why was he feeling helpless and despair that Allen left them?

.

Decision Gone Wrong

.

"Any clues to what may have triggered Allen to leave this house?" Tiedoll glared at the other two.

"His friend came to visit today… That's all." Alma replied, gulping.

He knew Tiedoll didn't like him.

He once thought Tiedoll was homophobic- Maybe that was why. But possibilities crashed when he learnt that it was Tiedoll that asked Allen to marry Yuu. If gender wasn't the problem, what was it that's making his father-in-law reject him?

Was he not good enough for Yuu?

Why was a stranger three years ago a better candidate than him?

Yes, Allen was a sweetheart, he learnt that through the three years they spent together, but surely there was something else- What was it?

"Friend…?"

"A guy named Tyki Mikk."

"... It doesn't ring any bell to me." Tiedoll sighed, worried.

Kanda analysed the message Allen sent to Tiedoll, his lips stretched into a thin line. "The only thing we can confirm is that he left us willingly."

"But why?"

"God knows." Kanda hissed.

The only adult shook his head in disapproval, "Yuu, you've changed so much."

"Shut up."

"You were more cheerful back then, before that child moved away from us." He slumped back into the sofa, his head now facing the ceiling fan, "Allen reminds me too much of that child, I thought he could make you cheerful like he did."

Surprised, Kanda turned his head towards his father, "What do you mean?" His voice trembled a little as he spoke.

Tiedoll reached into his wallet, flipping it open.

"This child."

There in the photo was young Kanda and a hazel-coloured hair boy.

.

"Playing with the sand again?"

"... Yeah."

.

"I don't know why you fainted in the park back then. You were unharmed when I rushed you to the hospital, but it was weird that you can no longer remember this child's name. So did I."

.

"...Walker."

"My name is Neah Walker."

.

"Walker… Walker! His name is Neah Walker!"

Walker, the same surname, a high possibility of them being siblings.

"I don't think that's possible. He's from an orphanage remember?" Tiedoll reasoned.

"... No, Neah mentioned he had a albino brother."

It finally clicks.

Why he felt such a strong connection towards the whitenett even when he has Alma by his side - it finally makes sense.

Allen is Neah's brother - Neah, the missing child that never returns to the park. If the Walkers were in an orphanage, it is possible that both brothers would be adopted by different families. That was why Allen did not know any of them but Tiedoll and Kanda could feel some connection towards him.

So… It wasn't that Neah ditched him and never come to find him in the park.

He was adopted and taken away?

Knock knock.

The three of them stood up immediately.

Is he back?

"Al- Who are you?"

The man at the door stared at Alma, then at the remaining people in the house and furrowed his brows. He muttered something under his breath but it was too soft to be heard by anyone.

"Excuse me, do you see this person around here?" A paper was pushed into their view.

Kanda's eye widened in shock, and quickly regained his posture.

"No, never see him here."

"That's a shame." The man smiled, handing out a name card this time, "Please do contact me if you ever come across him."

The man left.

"Yuu…? What's wrong?"

"The one in the paper… That's Neah."

That man was giving out such a dangerous vibe - Why is such a dangerous man looking for Neah?

Did Allen know his brother is in danger?

Did Allen go back to his brother and was forced to leave them because of this man?

Looking down at the card on his name, he read out the name written.

"Malcom Leverrier."

A/N:

Hi.
The story is a mess the more I reread my old works.
It takes quite a time for me to rearrange the order to make everything smoother.

For those that read the old versions, I'm sure you'll noticed that I've changed some of the plot here. The previous version wasn't making sense to me when I read it now that I'm older.

Does that mean the ending would change?
It might, no promises.

Thank you so much for still reading on.
My updates are slow, I apologize for that.
But thank you, for still sticking around.

Love you guys.
