"Insecurities"
Couple: Riley/Farkle
"Farkle, do you love me?" Riley asked her boyfriend of two years, the two were cuddeling on Riley's living room couch, Farkle had his arms around her back as she lay on top of him, her ear pressed against his heart.
"Course, why would you doubt me?" He asked confused at her words.
She went quiet, Riley didn't want to say what exactly was bothering her, she was fifteen and scared another girl would capture her boyfriend's attention, even though she knew this boy had been in love with her since first grade, but it still didn't stop her from worrying, she'd shared her fears with her best friend, Maya, who thought she was crazy for thinking such things.
"Why would Farkle leave you?" She had said.
"He's loves you, you know that." Though Maya's words did make her feel better, Riley still didn't think she was good enough for him, Riley feared other girls would turn his head.
"N-no reason, j-just wondering." Riley stuttered.
"Riley look at me." He said, she lifted her head to meet his eyes.
"Look, Maya told me how you've been feeling lately. Why didn't you tell me?" Riley sighed, looking down.
"It's just, I don't know. I mean there's these girls that have been asking you out, literally since the day we got together, and I'm worried one of these days, you'll go with one of them." She explained.
"Riley," he said sweetly, Riley made eye contact with him again.
"I love you, I have since I was a kid, that's not going to change, my love has only grown with age. Riles never doubt us, please."
She nodded, "ok." Her reply was small.
"Besides I'm the one who should be scared. I mean look at you, there are other guys out there that are better than me, I can't belive you stuck with me this long." He spoke quietly and hurtly, Riley was astounded by his words, she cupped his cheeks and kissed him sweetly, she pulled away and looked at him intensely.
"Never ever say that again. I love you so much. Please never doubt that."
He gave a small smile.
"I won't. Do we have an understanding?" He asked, Riley smiled and nodded, she laid her head back on his chest, and the two fell asleep.
Hours later Topanga came home with groceries in her hands, as she shut the door and turned around, she smiled at the two teens asleep. She had a fond memory of her and her husband Cory at that age, and then laughed, some things really do never change.
