Chapter 10 - The Big Race

After Class

Arthur decided to show Star and her friends a bit of her history, especially since Eclipsa was now free from her prison. "So...level with me. Somehow I get the feeling that you weren't really evil. What was your life like back around your era? As in, what did you do, what kind of friends did you have etc." Marco asked, giving question after question, also trying to be carefle to upset Eclipsa.

"Oh, I had pleanty of friends on the outside. One was Globgor, whom I married. Then there was this young mewman called Henry Bowman, an amazing architect who aways found use for discared junk on Mewni and used it for his creativity. As for my life? Well, it was wonderful, often times harsh with the war between monsters and mewmans, but wonderful nontheless." Eclipsa explained calmly. "Henry Bowman? Hmm...where've I heard that name before?" Star asked herself in confusion. "Here we are. The hall of Queens of our past." Arthur stated, revealing a room filled with a lot of tapestries of the queens from Mewni's past.

They then reached the tapastry room, showing every queen of mewni from the past. Looking around, Star could easily recognise those familiar faces: Celena the Shy, Solaria the Monster Carver, Eclipsa the Queen of Darkness and even her very mother, Moon the Undaunted. Looking in the direction of the other tapestries, Star then noticed a few more ancestors that she or the gang didn't quite know about yet. "Woah, I've seen some of these tapestries, but the only ones I ever looked at was Celena, Solaria and you Eclipsa." Star said with excitement, turning towards her 9th grandmother. "Have you now? Well then you'll be even excited to know that Solaria was my mother." The queen of darkness herself spoke with a smile.

"No way. That's awesome!" Star said in awe. "You mean that lean mean wrecking machine? Sheesh...how did you survive her?" Tom asked bluntly. "Oh please, she was always soft around me." Eclipsa insisted with a smirk before everyone felt a little awkward and split up to view the different queens of mewni's past. Marco viewed Eclipsa's Tapestry before looking at the pedastool at the part where it said that she took a monster for her love and from away from Mewni fled. "Hmm...something's not right here..." He thought to himself, looking at Eclipsa before moving onto the next tapestry.

Crescenta the Eager:

"When the one before her proved unfit, Crescenta the Eager took the Role, and along with her gal pal, Emily kept the monsters under Mewman control." Marco read before looking at Crescenta's tapestry with a smile. "Huh, she seems nice enough." The Safe Kid said, thinking that this old Queen was just like Star in a way, only to be met by Glossaryck when he appeared beside him all of a sudden. "Are you kidding me? Crescenta was actually the most psychotic out of all the queens I've known. Always acting like a politician to have her own way." He said in a panicked voice.

"Not only that, but Star even uses some of her spells, like the monster arm spell." Hekapoo explained, causing Marco to freeze on the spot. "Wh...what?" He yelped in shock upon hearing this. "Yep...I know...the monster arm is a spell created by her." Star said sheepishly. "But on the plus side, it is how Rhombolous got his snake arms." Hekapoo stated, making the situation worse.

Festivia the Fun:

"When the threat of monsters at the gate has darkened out the sun, let the kingdom find some peace and joy, in Festivia the Fun." Eclipsa read, gazing up at Festivia's tapestry with a sad and concerned look upon her face. "So this is what you've been doing since I left you Festivia...?" She said to herself as Hekapoo came over to Eclipsa upon seeing her beside the tapestry. "...I'm sorry...there was no other way the line could have survived." The fiery girl spoke with a sad voice, placing her hand on Eclipsa's shoulder.

"But what about...you know...Meteora?" Eclipsa whispered as Star looked over but was unable to hear the name. "I...I couldn't find out. I wasn't able to find her." Hekapoo explained quietly, oblivious to Star eavesdropping on the two before she showed Jackie one of the other Queens from the past.

Skywynne Queen of Hours:

"Ticktock, the clock talks, but secrets are its powers. The only one to break its spell is Skywunne, Queen of Hours." Star read as she and Jackie looked at this proud queen's position. "Wow...she looks pretty awesome." The cool girl complemented. "I know right? She's literally one of my favorite grandmas! Mainly she was rebellious and had some pretty amazing spells...like me." Star said as she put her arm on Jackie's shoulder. "Oh please, Skywynne's chapter is the only one Star reads about." Glossaryck said, appearing on Star's shoulder and causing her to blush furiously.

Dirrhennia the Heaped:

"For some the troubles come in doubles, in sadness greatly steeped. And drawing balls upon the walls is Dirhhennia the Heaped." Kelly read, looking at the tapestry at the sad ancestor. "Drawing balls huh? Why the long face though?" Tad asked in confusion. "Dunno, but wow...she looks like a real mess, and not the good kind if I do say so myself." Tom said insultingly about Dirrhennia. "Be respectful, that's actually one of Festivia's daughters you're talking about." Glossaryck said crossly, causing the two boys to rub the back of their heads sheepishly.

Jushtin the Boy Queen:

"He was just a boy, but he could dream. So goes the sad tale of Jushtin the un-queen." Marco read before smiling at the tapestry. "Wow...it must have been awesome for this guy to become a q...King of Mewni within the butterfly line, right?" He asked Glossaryck, but he immediately explained that there was never such thing as an un-queen, causing Janna, Hekapoo and Tom to laugh at Marco for a bit of a moment. "Oh very funny!" He said in embarrassment. "His wand was also taken away because of his irresponsibility, so that's why male mewmans can't use the wand." Glossaryck continued before floating away.

Estrella the Drafted:

"She cannot write, she cannot sing. But she can draw, her ownly thing. Sketching late until the night...But will she ever draw it right?" Marco said, confused at Estrella's tapestry and even what the writing meant. Even Kelly and Jackie were both confused too. "Er...Can't sing? What, was this one tone deaf or something?" Kelly asked with confusion. "Actually, she couldn't speak at all. Upon her birth, she had always been a mute. It's why she decided that drawing was the best way to speak." Arthur explained, like he knew her all too well. "Huh...well that's something." Kelly complemented, pretty impressed with Estrella's drawing skills.

and Rhina the Riddled:

"Seven came before Rhina if (if you subtract the boy). Add four more reigns to her domain and then what gets destroyed?" Reading this togeter, Jackie and Tom became confused. "What does this mean?" Tom asked in confusion. "She had a love for riddles. So nothing makes sense." Glossaryck explained before noticing Arthur kneeling and moved on. "Oh...nothing makes sense...Well that makes sense...in a way?" Eclipsa stated, pretty much confused at her descendant.

Comet the Chef:

Sadly looking at his late wife's tapestry, Arthur got down upon one knee as he and Glossaryck mourned her. "If only I could have saved you that day." He muttered under his breath. Star was drawn over to her grandfather's mourning before she noticed her grandmother's tapestry. "No magic on Mewni was greater than Comet and her kitchen creations... but she was defeated by Toffee, lizard prince of the dark monster nations?" Star read before discovering that Toffee was the one to kill her grandmother.

"Wait...Toffee...killed my grandma?" Star asked as she looked over towards Glossaryck who was sobbing all over the floor. "It's true...she was killed by Toffee...I assume your mother explained it?" He said before asking the question to Star. Taking a moment, Star mentioned that her mother never mentioned anything about her grandmother. "Aye, there's a lot of things your mother doesn't like to mention. Why do you think she attacked Toffee in the tapestry?" Arthur asked rhetorically as Star looked at how Moon took out Toffee with the darkest spell. "Oh...but why would my mom even use that spell?" Star asked with concern. "It was a long time ago..." Arthur began to explain.

Flasback years ago

It was a dark time for Mewmans

After Comet and I decided to split up, I left...trying to find in my heart who I was

When I heard about how Comet was meeting up with King Batwin to finally bring peace between both monsters and Mewmans, I was overjoyed. I rushed back home and supported my wife with this decision, even to contact a few allies of mine.

But sadly...this happiness was short lived when Toffee had murdered her in cold blood. I wanted to go with Comet, but she insisted that she handle this herself.

I wanted to defy her, just to do ANYTHING to protect her...but I let my guard down

And when I heard of her death...I flew into a vengence filled rage. Taking my anger out on anything I could lay my fists on

Your mother was there to comfort me...but we both knew it wasn't enough.

Hekapoo, the high commission and I confronted Batwin about this, but he revealed that the treaty was not fake and that Toffee had killed Comet under the orders of his master, Seth's own personal gain. But we also learned that he also killed her for revenge on foiling his plans to find the devil's trident just to awaken the Mysterious Hollow.

I lost my wife...I could not bare to lose my daughter, Moon, either. So I confronted Toffee and his Septarian army alone, with my sword drawn and rage built up inside.

Being a bit old, I lost focus and I was nearly killed myself...but then I saw Moon. From what she told me, she had been to see Eclipsa, when she was still imprisoned. She made a deal with her and was tought the darkest spell, therefore planning to kill Toffee with it.

I begged her to back off, I never wanted your mother to be a killer...but then, she managed to chop off Toffee's finger instead.

It was a great victory...but there was no feast, or song that day...for my daughter had changed.

Years after that, I left...hoping never to return to Mewni. I...just thought Moon would be better off without me.

Flashback Ends

Star's mouth hung open in shock just to hear those words. Even Eclipsa came over to comfort Arthur, especially when he got on his two knees. "I should've gone with her...she'd still be alive..." Arthur said with a brief rage, but it soon calmed down once Hekapoo held his hand. "Hey...just so you know...neither of you knew what was gonna happen. Also, my mom would never be better off without you, from what I've heard, she missed you." She said with a reassuring smile.

"Thank you...it means a lot. And just to let you know, I did keep in contact with your mother through letters I sent her." Arthur pointed out with a jolly smile, getting everyone to see the elder knight's good side. "You really raised your daughter well Arthur...despite what happened of course." Eclipsa said, placing her hand on his shoulder. Arthur then got to his feet before stroking Star's hair. "And what do we do about Eclipsa, Arthur? Should we-" Omnitraxus began, only to be cut off by Arthur. "No. Leave her be. She isn't doing any harm." The elder knight insisted.

For a moment, Rhombulous and Omnitraxus looked at Eclipsa who waved with a big smile. They were a little unsure, but Hekapoo gave an annoyed glance at them and they knew she wouldn't allow them to hurt Eclipsa for some strange reason. "Ugh, alright alright. Message understood. She can also attend the gala for this year if that makes Star comfortable. Which reminds me, Star, your mother is getting very impatient with the list for the gala." Omnitraxus groaned before speaking to Star. "Relax...I've got it under control." Star insisted as the two members of the High Commission left with concern. Eclipsa left as well, promising to meet Star back at the hotel they were staying in.

"Hmm...I've heard about Eclipsa in the past...but why do I get the feeling that she's not dangerous?" Star asked in confusion, looking at Marco. "Maybe she's just using us? But let's play it cool for now." He whispered in suspicion before turning towards her. "We don't know if she's using us." Star whispered in annoyance. "I mean did you see her pedastool? She sounds evil." Marco pointed out in annoyance. "Well...I can't deal with this right now. Just hold on a moment." Star said as she pulled out a piece of paper and wrote on it. "Fine..." Marco groaned, finally giving up on thinking Eclipsa was evil.

Arthur was watching the two kids arguing, but felt like he couldn't blame them for thinking so. His train of thought was suddenly interrupted when Kelly came up beside him. "By the way, when would be a good time to learn a few tricks from you Arthur? I'd love to know how my grandfather fought alongside you." Kelly asked with an eager attitude. "The day after next I suppose. Mainly that day reminded me of when your grandfather and I trained together." Arthur suggested with a smile. "There...there...and there we have it." Star said in excitement, gaining everyone's attention. "Have what Star?" Tom asked in confusion. "The guest list for this year's gala. Oooh I'm sure they're going to love the idea of mingling together." Star explained before showing the list to her friends and sparking Arthur's interest.

Star called Buff Frog and told him to meet her at the allyway beside her hotel where she showed him the list of guests for this year's festival. She even told the huge frog to bring the king of monsters, Archduke Batwin, along. The reaction that she expected wasn't the one she saw at all. Instead...it was one filled with shock. "What?! You want both Monsters and Mewmans to attend the Festival within three days time?" Batwin asked in shock as he looked towards Buff Frog. "Star...I don't know..." Buff Frog started with a stammer, but was cut off by Kaito. "Your mother would not accept this. Even if we were to attend, she would immediately shun us along with all other mewmans." The samurai spoke sadly.

"Come on. I saw the good in a lot of monsters, so I thought...I'll do this guest list for everyone. Monsters and Mewmans alike." Star explained with an enthusiastic attitude, but only to make the problem a little more difficult. "We would probably be executed for this. Yes, I understand that your mother put you in charge, but what if she disowns you for that?" Buff Frog asked with concern for his friend.

Star then did a face which pleaded for them to accept, taking the monsters by surprise in the process. "Well...we will see about this offer. No promises Star...if you hear back from us, expect the news to be sad." Buff Frog spoke sadly before walking away with the other monsters, making Star upset by this possible refusal. She then went back to the hotel room, not feeling like going anywhere else today.

Later that evening

Star sat on her bed, feeling a bit down because of Batwin's refusal. She understood why he and the other monsters couldn't come, but it was also a bit sad too. "Man...I can't believe those monsters won't come. I wanted there to be the first peaceful gala between both Mewmans and Monsters. My grandmother wanted there to be a truce...and I thought I could do it." She pouted. "Yeah...especially since we know not all monsters are bad." Marco added, feeling bad for the monsters as well. "I know how you feel...I tried to convincing my mother that not all monsters were evil...but she refused to listen." Eclipsa said sadly.

Star then looked at her grandmother's chapters in the magic book and noticed that there was a lot in it, sure there wasn't much spells, but she saw something which got her attention. There was talk about Comet making a lot of recepies in her chapters, not only that, but it also helped to mewmans and monsters to calm down. "Woah...check this out. My grandma was able to make peace between monsters and Mewmans just by cooking." She said, showing Marco and the others the chapters of her grandmother.

"It's true...your grandmother believed that peace could be achieved through a feast. And she wanted to share her food with monsters and mewmans, hoping to stop the years of war between each other." Glossaryck explained, having appeared out of nowhere on the book. "Wow...that's awesome." Marco said as a compliment. "Eh...it's alright." Tom replied, sounding a little bored. "Hmm...I think I have an idea, but we might have to wait until after tomorrow." Star explained with excitement.

"Good idea, because if you guys think that's good news, then guess who's going to the skateboarding championship tomorrow?" Jackie said with a hint of excitement. Hearing this, the gang's amazement came back instantly, one by one. "No way! That's awesome Jackie." Star said, happy for Jackie being able to be in the competition tomorrow. "It's this early?" Marco asked in sudden surprise. "Yep...you'd better believe it. I told everyone else and they're excited about it too." Jackie explained with excitement. "Then we'd better get up really early tomorrow to see you." Janna then said.

"Pff, you kids nowadays..." Eclipsa said with a chuckled. As of today, The High Commission ordered Star to keep her eyes on Eclipsa just in case she tried to do something evil as they put it. But to the gang...there was something about her which told otherwise.

Back in Ludo's hideout.

Glacia had returned to report to Toffee, she still wondered how Eclipsa knew Festivia, but shrugged it off. "So...did you find out anything interesting?" The possessed bird asked in expectance. "Oh, not much. Only the fact that Eclipsa has joined forces with the enemy!" Glacia said sarcastically, revealing what she saw to her boss. "Heh...I figured she'd do that." Toffee responded with a grin, confusing his minions in the process. "I'll never understand your plans Toffee." Goturtlodile admitted sheepishly. "And you'll never have to for a while. For now...observe what I've done." Toffee said, pointing towards Man Arm and gaining the attention of the other monsters.

Man Arm growled, he was acting like an absolute beast when he growled at his foes. In fact, he was looking more of a beast too. "M-M-Man Arm? What the heck happened to him?!" Bearicorn asked nervously. Spikeballs then spat out a dark green goop which landed on the floor with a loud splat. After spitting out the goop, Man Arm turned back to normal and fell to the floor. "Hey, what was that all about?" Spikeballs asked in confusion. "See for yourself my loyal minions." Toffee spoke before pointing towards the goop as it began to take shape, starting to form a body, one shorter than the minions, who wore a sort of frenchman wig, a cape and who held a cane to walk upon. "Eugh! Disgusting!" Man Arm recoiled in disgust.

Everyone was then drawn to the goop which stared at them with expectance. Many of the monsters were afraid, but others...were impressed. "Behold before you all...It is I...King Shastacan the Great. King of Mewni since Eclipsa's Reign and greatest of all Spiderbites." He said, revealing himself to be the old King of Mewni from 300 years ago and even posing dramatically. Causing every monster ally to gasp in shock. "As in... The Shastacan? The king of mewni who..." Bearicorn started in disbelief before being cut off. "Oui, oui, oui, oui, oui. It is me." Shastican said bluntly, holding his hand up to cut the monsterous minion off. "He's one of the greatest rulers which sadly fell because of Eclipsa's evil cause." Baby explained as the gooey king began to explain.

"Five lifetimes ago...I was supposed to become the King of Mewni...but I was denied of that opportunity when my wife turned her back on me, and used the Jagged Crown on her own people." Shastacan explained, revealing a portrait of himself 300 years ago and Eclipsa too. "Then...how did you become...that? Rumor had it that Globgor, the king of monsters, ate you whole." Spikeballs asked nervously. "All in good time...but for now...I have unfinished business." Shastacan said as he dusted a bit of goop off his shoulder pads.

"He's been a cursed soul who was trapped in the Mysterious Hollow for years. Now in order to relieve him of his curse, all we need do is let him take revenge on those who wronged him and he'll turn back to normal." Toffee explained with a fake concerned voice. "The line of Festivia the Fun is what started all this chaos...so it be only fitting that the most recent decendent should die." Shastacan said, clenching his fist as.

"You do realise...Queen Moon Butterfly is the one in charge of Mewni nowadays, don't you...? She'll be a more major threat." Big Chicken said in fear. "Well not to worry, because once the day of Eclipsa's fall comes, I will use the Trident in the hollow to destroy her, those monsters and anyone who dares to oppose us. Then everything will be back the way it was." Shastacan said with an evil grin upon his face. It was then that Miss Heinous, Gemini and their guards arrived, always feeling annoyed about the fact that they were in the company of monsters. "What did you summon us here for now Baby?" Miss Heinous asked in annoyance. "Oh...only just to introduce you to someone who can help you with your revenge." Baby said with an evil grin as she showed her to Shastacan.

"Ah, Miss Heinous. I am so honored that you have come before me today." Shastican said with excpectancy, disgusting Miss Heinous in the process. "The honor is all mine...So, why did you summon me here?" She asked, wanting to know what he wanted. "Just the question I wanted to hear. What do you know of Eclipsa or Queen Moon Butterfly?" He said before pulling up a holographic kind of video which showed a lot to the old hag, causing her to gasp in surprise.

The next morning

Everyone in Echo Creek High had to stop what the were doing, mainly to watch Jackie's performance in the Skateboard contest finale. In fact, a huge crowd of people had attended to see the finale. Star, Marco and the others were preparing to cheer their friend on. "So...what's this skateboard competition like Marco?" Kelly asked with a hint of excitement. "Eh, It's a competition to show people what you've got." Marco explained.

"But this is gonna be the best of the best from skateboarders around the world." Justin pointed out with absolute excitement. "Yeah...aren't you excited to see her compete in this? It's a huge honor." Ferguson pointed out with amazement. Marco rolled his eyes in annoyance before meeting Star's, who looked pretty concerned for both her two friends. "I forgot to get you to finish the other day. What did you say happened between you and Jackie?" The mewman princess asked with a purr. "It's complicated. But what ha-wait, are my parents here?!" Marcon started before catching a glimpse of something that he wasn't expecting for another week and three days.

On the other side of the crowd, Both Marco's and Jackie's parents had come to London, mainly to see Jackie's performance in the finals, but to also find out where the kids had gone. "Kayden, how will we know which Team Jackie is on?!" Jackie's mother asked in confusion as she held up Joey. "Trust me...my brother told me which team, but wanted me to keep it a surprise." Jackie's father responded with a smirk. "Speaking of which, any sign of Marco?!" Rafael asked, searching for his Son and Star along with Angie. "We'll meet them at their hotel later, it's the finale that I'm more focused on." Amy-Marie insisted.

In the stadium on the far right

Skylar's team gathered up at the doors, preaparing to make their big entrance to the crowd. A lot of them were prepared for the contest, Roman almost fell asleep if Heidi hadn't have woken him up, but for Jackie however, she felt a bit nervous about the contest. Sure she was excited, but she was also nervous too. "Scared Jackie?" Skylar asked, noticing Jackie shaking a little. "A little..." Jackie managed to say. "Ah, don't worry about it. I felt the same way when I signed up for my first tournament." Skylar admitted with a chuckle.

"What was it like?" Jackie asked, getting a little curious. "Eh...it was ok. I kept my cool, concentrated on my moves and it all worked out fine." Skylar said with a calm smile despite feeling nervous on the inside. Either way, it managed to calm Jackie down. It was then that the front door to their platform, revealling them to the crowd of people outside. "Right...let's get this show on the road." Jackie said with a smirk as she and her team went up to their platform along with two other team of skateboarders.

"Good day London! This is your host Rock Justice speaking. How are we all doing today?!" The host spoke with an excited attitude, causing the crowd to cheer wildly. Even Star and the gang cheered. "Today marks the final day of the skateboard uk championship, and we've come down to just three final teams." The host continued, pointing to the the three teams who stood upon their platforms.

"From the left corner, we've got Robin and the Hoods." The announcer said, showing the first team on the left who everyone cheered towards. "In the middle we have Trixie and the Maelstroms." Speaking this, the announcer showed the middle team who posed in absolute pride, causing a huge crowd to cheer them even more than the first team had. "And finally on the right, we've got Skyler and the Silver Phoenixes, including their newest and youngest member on the team, Jacqueline Storm!" But the amount of crowd cheering on the silver phoenixes were twice the amount of the other teams. In th process, Jackie waved to the crowd, looking to also find her friends as well.

"Jacqueline Storm? Woah...you've really outdone yourself Jackie." Marco said to himself with an impressed attitude as the students of Echo Creek cheered Jackie on. "Can anyone see Jackie?!" "The cool skateboarder was gaining a lot of confidence despite being nervous. "Alright folks, let's get ready to rumble!" The announcer said, singalling the three teams to go. "Alright you guys, let's give them a show." Skylar said as the whole team prepared to give a fantastic performance to the whole crowd.

Part 1 - Skill Contest

In a huge skating bowl, all the competetors were performing various and amazing stunts in the bowl. A couple of the Hoods performed old school stunts, but not good enough ones. A lot of Trixie's team were more better than their rival team, but it was nothing compared to the Silver Phoenixes. While the other members of the team were performing a little more better stunts, Jackie performed the greatest of stunts on the huge halfpipe, even nearly hitting her head on the top. The combonation between her skills and Skylar's moves, they were unstoppable. Marco and the others were cheering Jackie on, causing the teenage skateboarder to give a wink towards her fellow classmates and friends.

Part 2 - Timed Course.

The time course involved going through a lot of obstacles, dodging them and even jumping over them if needed. Every member of the Hoods attempted to succeed...but most of them failed the course with only a handful succeeding. One member of Trixie's team actually got disqualified because of her use of a motorized skateboard, but other than that, Trixie's team succeeded.

The Silver Phoenixes however, were a blast. Both Skylar's and Jackie's times were absolutely spot on. And the rest of the team succeeded as well with pure luck...or in this case, with the help of Star's wand. When the course was over, there was a draw between the Maelstroms and the Silver Phoenixes, thus knocking Robin and the Hoods out of the competition.

Part 3 - The Big Race

The two teams were at the starting line and ready to race, too busy to notice a vehicle on the roof of one of the buildings. "To all team members, report to your team." The announcer reminded the team members while Jackie was busy talking to Marco, and trying to make it a quick talk before the race started. "Good luck Jackie...you'll need it." Marco said, hugging Jackie before letting her go. "Thanks Marco...hopefully everything will work out right." Jackie said as she went to join the rest of her team.

Jackie put her helmet on and prepared to set off along with her team. "Heh...scared Jacqueline?" Trixie said with a smug look upon her face, gaining Jackie's attention. "You wish." Jackie responded with an annoyed glare. "On your marks..." The announcer spoke, as both teams prepared to zoom towards the finish line. "Get set..." Jackie had got rid of all fear of being a failure and focused on everything she had learned from her experience of skateboarding...and her friends cheering her on.

"GO!" With that word spoken, the two teams set off down the track. Jackie and Trixie were the fastest, even faster than Skylar, so they were locked in a battle against each other. All the while, the other members of the two teams took each other on just in case the two girls were knocked out of the course. "Woah...I think your girlfriend just got herself a new rival." Tom said with an impressed attitude as Hekapoo nodded in agreement. "Y-Yeah...about that Tom..." Marco started, but was cut off by Star, who came up with a great idea. "Let's head down to the finish line to greet Jackie. I think she'd love that." She said, getting the gang to nod in agreement.

Suddenly, a familiar car appeared and landed onto the track. That car, was actually the one which Miss Heinous owned. Something was off about her though...her guards weren't with her, nor Gemini, she was surrounded by monsters, including Ludo, and her arms looked...off. Many people weren't even noticing the car, but Marco figured that it was shielded by an invisibility cloak which was visible to Star's magic. "Miss Heinous!" Ponyhead shrieked in terror. "What's she doing here?" Marco asked in confusion and shock.

"Oh no...I think she must be here to kidnap Jackie. She must be working for Ludo!" Star whispered in fright. "What?! We've gotta save her! But how?!" Marco yelped in shock. "You guys. I think I might have a way." Kelly said, pulling a skateboard from her hair and giving Star and Marco a brilliant idea. Stupid, but brilliant. "I know we'll get in trouble for this...but it's for Jackie's safety. Star, I need you to give us a boost. Kelly, do you think you could help us out?" Marco said to the two girls who both nodded in agreement.

Upon agreeing, Star got out her want and used it for her a good advantage. "Shimmering Crystal Seesaw!" She incantated, summoning a seesaw made of crystal stone. This wasn't what Marco had in mind for a ramp but he didn't really care at that time. "Um, guys, you could get in trouble for this." Tom insisted, mentioning the crowd that they were currently in. "What's more important? Exposure or someone's life? And don't you dare pick the first one." Kelly said in annoyance towards Tom. "Ok Star, give us a boost." He then said, getting onto the skateboard with both Kelly and Star. "You got it. Turbo Firework Beam!" Star incantated, causing a huge booster blast which propelled the trio off the ramp and onto the track.

"Be careful you guys!" Hekapoo called out in concern as the trio zoomed down the path to stop Miss Heinous. "Oh man...I hope B-Fly's gonna be ok, 'cause last time I heard about Toffee, I was worried about what he'd do to her." Ponyhead yelped in fear. "Yeah...you and me both. But we have to follow them, come on!" Tom said before leading the gang down a shortcut where they'd catch up to Star and the others. "Man...I knew Kelly was always onto fighting like her culture, but isn't this like, way out of her league?" Tad asked Janna in worry. "Eh...I'm sure she'll be fine." Janna said without a care, thinking that she'd be fine.

Down the streets

Jackie was catching up with Trixie, who seemed to be so obsessed with winning the finals. "You'll never catch me Jacqueline!" She laughed evilly. "Oh yeah? Well we'll just see about that." Jackie said with a smirk as she crouched down a little further to speed up and catch her opponent, not noticing Miss Heinous' car advancing towards her. The monsters inside were preparing to grab their target and hold her hostage, like they did once before.

Star, Marco and Kelly meanwhile were coming in hot, mainly thanks to Star's use of her wand. "Alright you guys, I'll pull up behind the car, then you two get on and take out those guys so we can save Jackie!" Star said, coming up with a plan. "What about you?!" Marco called over to Star. "I'll be hanging onto the back just in case we need to make a quick getaway!" Star said, coming up with a strategy for herself and her friends.

Agreeing with Star, Marco then grabbed onto the car's bumper and tried to board the vehicle, only to find that at the current speed, it was made a lot difficult to climb on, it was even more difficult to stay hidden when the invisibility shield faltered as a lot of people were surprised and shocked that a car was on the track, but thankfully people thought it was just a mascot...skate? As two people from the crowd would put it.

Florona went first, hoping to grab Jackie by her waist while she wasn't looking at all. "Oh no you don't. Summoning Razer...Crane Charm!" Star yelled, seeing this as the perfect opportunity to use her grandmother's spell with her wand in hand. Upon using the spell, a flock of Razer Cranes appeared out of nowhere and once Ludo's minions went through them, they ended up having the cranes flying into Florona's face. Goturtlodile had to pull him back in to make sure he didn't get carried off by them.

However, Florona accidently had a crane in his mouht and spat it out immediately. "Ha, did you see the look on his face you guys?" Star said, laughing at their enemies ahead persuers and even allowing Marco and Kelly to laugh too. Making it look as if Ludo's minions a laughing stock. "Oh you idiots! Here, take the wheel!" Miss Heinous spoke with annoyance before attempting to grab Jackie herself.

In the process, Miss Heinous took out the devil's trident and prepared to fire it at Jackie. But because of her swift moves, Jackie dodged the beam without even noticing behind her. It was troulbing for Miss Heinous as she tried to blast Jackie multiple times, each time missed and was made worse when Jackie zoomed on ahead to catch her rival. "SPEED UP YOU FOOLS, OR WE'LL LOSE HER!" Miss Heinous demanded in anger, banging her fist on the car's bonet. "We're at top speed! How else can we go faster?!" Al Gator pointed out in annoyance as he looked for a few ways to speed up, and then found the perfect idea with the other half of the wand. "Er...why are you looking at me like that Al?" Ludo asked in confusion.

Before long, Al had suggested his idea to his leader, who accepted the idea and made the car go faster with the wand fragment. Not only to catch up with Jackie, who was miles ahead and still on with defeating her rival, but it was also to shake off their enemies too. "Any suggestions Kelly?!" Marco called over to his Woolett friend as he was shaken about. "One...but you guys better brace yourselves!" Kelly said before reaching into her hair and pulling out a sword with a rope tied to it. The teenage woolett then threw the sword and it managed to hit the car's boot and without warning, Kelly then tugged on the rope and jumped a long distance until she, Star and Marco landed on the car. "Nice one Kells!" Star said as she took out her wand and prepared to fight. "You! How many times must you get in my way?!" Miss Heinous growled in frustration, firing a death beam from the devil's trident.

"As many times as you attack my friends, and if you keep doing that...I won't stop." Star said as she then fought the wicked old woman who used her wand as a mace to defend herself against the trident. Kelly took on Spikeballs, Florona and Goturtlodile who got out of the car and were armed with a Soul Eater gem bracelets. Kelly nearly got hit by their blasts, but dodged them nonetheless and used two swords to fight off against her foes. Marco was then left face to face with Ludo, who was being possessed by Toffee. "Hello Marco...it's been some time, hasn't it?" Toffee said with a grin. "So that's how you came back!" Marco gasped in shock. "Surprising how things happen, isn't it?" The possessed bird said before lunging at his foe.

Toffee attempted to blast the karate kid with his deathly eye blast, but thankfully Marco had the Blood Moon Gauntlet on his hand and reflected the attack, only to accidently hit Three-Eyed Potato Baby with it. "And now I why the high commission lost to Ludo." Star said, having watched the whole thing with her eyes in horror. "S-Sorry...my bad." Marco said sheepishly before fighting Toffee with his blood moon gauntlet.

Ludo then shot a death beam at Kelly, hitting her in the arm and giving her a bad wound. Kelly yelled in pain as she dropped her swords and held her injured arm, giving Spikeballs enough time to knock her onto the car's bonet. "Take that you useless woolett!" Toffee yelled as he laughed evilly. "Hey! Nobody does that to my friend!" Marco yelled angrily as he knocked Ludo onto his back before beating him. "This is for stealing the book of spells!" Marco yelled, hitting Ludo on the head with a loud bonk. "This is for making Star leave Earth!" He said again, hitting Ludo in the arm with the gauntlet.

"And this...this one is for hurting my friend Kelly!" Marco yelled as he then punched Ludo on the arm where Toffee's had fused onto it, immediately releasing the other half of the wand and sending it flying into the air. "Woah...I'm surprised why he didn't hit me first." Spikeballs said sheepishly before being whacked by Star's wand mace. Upon seeing the other half of the wand flying back, Marco suddenly grabbed Star as he and Kelly made a run for the edge of bonet and jumped onto the skateboard that he threw onto the road. Marco then attempted to catch the crystal, but because of Al Gator speeding up to ram the kids, he lost focus.

Jackie managed to catch up to Trixie, but had trouble getting past her because of her skateboard's swift moves. "Heh...what does a rookie like you have against a professional like me? The Storm's over before it even bega-!" Trixie started mockingly, but suddenly noticed Star, Marco and Kelly being chased by Miss Heinous who was on the bonet of the car and looked pretty angry. Trixie was caught off guard long enough for her to lose focus and fall off her skateboard. "You were saying Trixie?" Jackie said smugly as she zoomed on ahead towards the finish line for her team.

All the while, Trixie looked in shock at what was happening and watched in disbelief. "Star, construct another ramp! We can jump off it down there!" Kelly said "What are you crazy?!" Star asked in shock. "Just do it!" Kelly insisted immediately. "I hope you know what you're doing Kelly." Star said as she conjured a huge ramp down the street. Kelly then sped towards the ramp with Miss Heinous and her monstrous allies following dangerously behind. "Hang onto something you guys!" Kelly yelled as she prepared to jump the ramp.

"You have annoyed me for the last time Butterfly!" Miss Heinous growled in anger as the car prepared to run over the three kids. "Get a therapist lady." Kelly said smugly before flying off the ramp that Star had constructed along with her friends before she switched the ramp's direction with her wand. Al Gator then yelled as he applied the breaks on the car harshly but it was too late. Miss Heinous saw this along with the other monsters before they all flew off the ramp in the wrong direction. They flew off the ramp, screaming all the way and then they flew into the thames with a loud splash.

All the while, Star and Marco both screamed like a pack of girls as they and Kelly had suddenly jumped past the third team, who were stunned by this, and got into third place despite not being in the actual race itself. Kelly then stopped the skateboard harshly after getting across the finish line. The three friends noticed everyone looking at them awkwardly before they found out they were safe. "Huh? Phew, I think that's enough surprises for one day, don't you think Star?" Marco asked as he put Star down. "Yep, totally." Star said nervously with a chuckle as they suddenly recieved a cheer from the crowd.

They then walked away awkwardly before being confronted by Jackie, who seemed a bit annoyed that they were in the race. "What were you guys doing?" Jackie asked in annoyance. "Saving your life of course. Those monsters were chasing after you and I couldn't stand by and do nothing about it, also I liked how you beat those guys by the way." Marco said all at once, explaining about Jackie's persuers. "Ugh...you're lucky you didn't ruin this for me. But thanks anyway." She said with a bit of a chuckle. "Anyways, you're not gonna believe this...we won!" Jackie then said in excitement. "Y-You did?!" Star asked in disbelief. "Yeah...if one team member crosses the line before the others, then the whole team wins." Jackie said, squealing with excitement.

"B-Fly!" Pony called over as the four friends saw Ponyhead, Tad, Janna, Tom and Hekapoo rushing towards them. "Thank goodness you guys are ok." Tom said with relief as they "Kelly, your arm." Tad yelped in horror, noticing Kelly's wounded arm. "It's just a wound, I'll be fine Tad." Kelly insisted before the whole gang looked over the side of the bridge to see Ludo and his goons floating away. "Well...looks like those guys are out of the contest." Marco said as he waved his mockingly to Miss Heinous.

It was then that Marco discovered, along with the others, that the other half of the wand had stuck itself to the back of the gauntlet's hand. "The other half, you got it back! How'd you do it?!" Hekapoo asked with amazement and disbelief. "I dunno, I think Ludo must have accidentally chucked it in our direction when it got loose." Marco said, recalling what he thought happened. "Ohhh this is brilliant! With the two halves of the wand back, we'll have a much greater chance at stopping Toffee and his minions." Hekapoo said with hope.

"Come on, they're starting the award ceremony now. We'll talk about this later." Jackie said as the whole gang went over to the winner's podium, where the Queen of England would be awarding the teams their trophies. Janna didn't stick around, much to Hekapoo's suspicion, mainly because one of the guards recognised her.

All the while

The monsters floated town the thames on the car, feeling pretty angry that they lost. "Rgh! You idiots! We blew it!" Miss Heinous growled in frustration as she threw water at the monsters. "Not only that but we lost the only half of the wand which could allow us to use The Devil's Trident!" Spikeballs said sadly. It was then that Ludo happened to notice a severed finger on the car, which had been dropped by Star when she fought Miss Heinous.

Toffee then took over his body and smiled vigorously before speaking. "Well well well...Finally...I'm complete. Anyways, the Trident is still active, even without the wand. All we need to do is show these mewmans...the true meaning of being a monster and they'll fall." The possessed bird spoke before reuniting his finger with Toffee's hand.

Back at the hotel that evening

Every student from Echo Creek were celebrating Jackie's victory after winning the finale, even cheering her name. "JACQUELINE! JACQUELINE! JACQUELINE! YEAH!" They cheered in excitement. Even Star and Marco were there to cheer their friend on. "Alright, alright. Thanks for being there for me guys, it really meant a lot." Jackie said, feeling really grateful that her friends came to support her. "Wow...I can't believe we even got these silver medals for coming second...and we weren't even in the competition. And look...they're so shiny!" Star said, looking at her silver medal.

"Star...sometimes the craziest things can happen when I'm around you...but on the plus side, at least it's not boring either." Marco said with a chuckle. "Aha, there you are. We've been looking for you all day." A familiar voice spoke, causing Marco and Star to turn around. "D-Dad? Mom?! What are you doing here?!" Marco asked in shock as he saw both his parents and Jackie's family after coming in the doors of the hotel. "We came here with Jackie's parents, mainly to see London itself...and it's pretty nice." Rafael said, being really impressed with London. "Plus...we already checked in since yesterday." Angie said with delight, hugging Star, having seen her only a few days ago and couldn't get over missing her. "Ugh...why am I not surprised." Marco said to himself with a chuckle.

"By the way, I really love your grandmother's necklace. I think it's absolutely beautiful. Thank you so much for it." Star said, showing Angie that she had been wearing the necklace. "Aw, you're very welcome Star. It's always good to see you one in a while." Angie said, feeling Like Star was soon to be her future daughter-in-law.

Jackie's family meanwhile, along with her uncle, went up to Jackie and told her how proud they were of their middle child winning the championship. "I can't believe your team won! Ha!" Kayden said as he hugged his own daughter with amazement. "See what I mean Kay? I had no doubt that her skills were able to win her team the trophy." Jackie's uncle said with a proud smile. "By the way...where's my van?" Amy-Marie asked in expectance, making Jackie a bit nervous. "Not now Amelia, this is Jacqueline's day, so take it easy for now and we'll find the van soon." Ellie insisted, making her eldest daughter annoyed.

Hekapoo on the other hand, told Queen Moon, Eclipsa and the rest of the High Commission that Marco had got the other half of Star's wand back, and boy were they overjoyed to know it. "I can't believe this. Now we can finally destroy the trident and save London from a great threat." Omnitraxus said with a huge relief. "If only it were that easy. We don't even know where those Monsters are residing in london." Moon pointed out as she attempted to put the wand back together.

However, the two halves wouldn't join for some reason, possibly because of Marco's blood moon gauntlet. "Come on you stupid thing! Just fit already!" Moon said in annoyance, trying to fit the other half of the wand back to the wand, but having no luck so far. "Hey, take it easy. Are you trying to break it?" Eclipsa asked in annoynace. "S-Sorry." Moon said sheepishly as she realised that she could break the wand once more. She then handed the two wand halves back to Star. "I've tried everything, but it won't come off." The High Commission member admitted sheepishly. "Maybe I could hold onto it for a while? After all, Star gave me the gauntlet and I like it." Marco suggested sheepishly. "Just don't break it." Hekapoo said, giving him back the gauntlet.

All the while, Kelly was having her wound healed, and boy was it painful. "Soul eater gems you say? Glacia must really be out to get Star." River said with concern as she tended to Kelly's wounds. "Yeah...she keeps calling you guys Butterfrauds. But I don't know why." Kelly explained as she winced in pain a few times. "Glacia's...always been the bitter one. She was always angry that we chose to give the trone over to Tom when he got older. We tried sending her to St Olga's, but she escaped before we could even get her there. She went to live with her uncle, and I presume she's been living with him ever since." Dave confessed sadly. "It doesn't matter...we've got to stop those guys before they cause mayhem!" Kelly said, sounding serious and prepared for anything...until she held her arm in pain and fell on her knees.

"Just like your grandfather...always eager to fight for freedom." Arthur said with a chuckle, helping Kelly onto her two feet gently. "But take it easy...the wound will take an hour to heal at this rate." He continued, insisting for Kelly's wellbeing. "Oh, ok...anyway, I'll see you tomorrow." Kelly said before heading over to her friends after waving goodbye to Arthur for now. "Was I ever that young once?" Arthur asked Hekapoo who smiled sweetly. "A little...but she's a little in over her head with wanting to take on those monsters." Hekapoo reminded the elder mewman. "There comes a time when we have to fight...and I fear that it'll be too soon." Arthur responded, feeling a bit worried for Kelly as well.

"...Well either way, I think this will be a night for us to remember. Come on you guys, let's go celebrate. Dinner's on me." Jackie's mother said, hugging her daughter and a couple of her friends. "But what about my va-" Amy started, but was immediately cut off by her father. "Later Amy, but for now...can you just hang on and celebrate your sister's victory...for me?" Kayden said to his eldest daughter "Alright, now that's what I'm, talking about!" Tom said with amazement as he followed his friends and Jackie's folks out for dinner.
