As far as I'm concerned, I'm giving them a chance to hear this either first or hear this privately. If they don't want to, well, I'm going to air their dirty laundry. I'm going to screw over their futures.
After all, they screwed over mine.
If Clay falters, help him. If Clay breaks down, pick him up. If the others give him grief, give it right back ten-fold.
If one of the others doesn't listen to all the tapes and you have to release the second set, take 13 out and give it to Clay once the second set plays out.

As for why Clay isn't the one handling this, I doubt intimidating the captains of the Basketball and Football teams, as well as the President and Vice President of the Student Honor Board and at least one cheerleader are within his capabilities just yet.
You on the other hand, carry just enough menace to be able to do just that.
