…O…O…O….

Anshar felt the loathing he held for his father swell inside his chest and his flames churn as he watched his sister weep. She, just like him, was still wearing her battle armor and a gleaming circlet encircled her head.

It wasn't the first time they had gone to war at their father's behest, nor would it be the last, the King of Babylon's ambitions new no bounds after all. But the battle they had just undertaken had been a complete massacre. And while they had lost some of their own soldiers–And he thanked the Gods that none of them had been an Element of theirs- the death toll on the other side had been far more important. And the despair and sorrow that had settled over the city like miasma as they entered, had been like a knife to the guts.

"Anu…" He started saying, walking to her. Only for the Princess to throw herself into his arms and clutch her hands tightly into his cape.

"The sands were died red, brother" she said, borrowing her face in the crook of his neck.

His breath hitched and he closed his eyes as he remembered how the dunes had seemed like a river of blood under the glare of the desert sun.

"I want him dead" Anu suddenly snarled wrenching herself from his hold and ripping the circlet off her head before throwing it to the ground "May the Gods be witness to my words, I shall drive my spear through his chest and burn his body to ashes."

Anshar hissed, eyes flashing "And the nobles will have you killed for it" he snatched her arm and pulled her to him "We may be powerful sister, but even we, cannot be on our guard all the time nor is our intuition infallible. And do you really think I wouldn't burn the whole of Babylon to the ground if you died?"

Anu stared at him for a moment, eyes ablaze, before closing her them and taking a long breath trying to calm herself down.

"You're right" she sighed, raining her flames in until the settled down, Anshar's own flames echoing hers.

A thud sounded behind the closed door of the room they were in, and both siblings' eyes widened. Anshar hurried to door and threw it open.

"My Prince" a red armored soldier greeted falling to a knee.

Anshar spared a glance to the body lying on the ground, by the soldier's feet then looked back at the bowed head "What is the meaning of this?" he asked voice like steel.

"This servant was listening in through the doors My Prince, when I tried to apprehend him he tried to attack me. I had no choice besides killing him."

"More split blood on this already bloodied day" Anshar stepped slightly to the side as his sister moved to stand by him.

He looked at her and found her as serene as ever, face calm and circlet once more in place. The soldier bowed his head deeper hands clenching

Guilt, determination, loyalty- their intuition whispered.

"Even so, we thank you for your actions, what we were saying was better left unheard" she continued making the soldier relax slightly.

"What would you ask for soldier? What award do you wait from your Prince and Princess after protecting their privacy?" Anshar wondered.

The soldier jolted, his head snapped up letting the twins see his wide, surprised eyes, before he hastily bowed his head again.

"I-I…I wouldn't dare" he stuttered.

Anshar tilted his head to the side "One often needs daring to achieve substantial things in life, as you already know being a soldier, being a Storm."

The soldier seemed to take a deep breath before blazing green eyes stared right at the twins "I would like to serve under you both my Prince, my Princess" he said.

"You are already a soldier of Babylon are you not? You already serve the royal family" Anshar interjected.

"Not as a soldier of the Kingdom, but as your Storm."

The slight widening of their eyes was the only thing betraying the twins' surprise, not that the soldier could see, as he had once more bowed his head.

"Raise your head and meet our gaze" commended Anshar.

The soldier did as told, and the twins could see the fear of rejection, the nerves and longing in his eyes.

"What is your name soldier?" asked Anu, voice soft.

"Adad Your Highness"

No Storm had ever felt right to the them, no Storm seemed to fit their Sky, but this one…

His eyes…

…O…O…O….

One, two, three, four, five, six, seven sugar cubes.

Reborn watched Sawada Nana pluck and add every single one in the small glass cup in front of her. Her eyes were unseeing and she was humming a tune with a smile on her face. She reached once more for the sugar holder, taking another cube and adding it with the same slow nearly lethargic movements she had used for the others.

"Mama" he called.

Nana's smile widened and her humming grew louder making Reborn frown. He had found her like that, sitting at the kitchen table still in her pajamas with all the lights turned off.

Plop

Another sugar cube fell into the steaming liquid beneath.

Nana had always seemed to be living in her own little world. Flitting through the house and the town with her head firmly in the clouds, laughing and talking with a distracted voice, seeming unconcerned and oblivious to anything happeningaround her, but this? This was new.

"Kaa-san ?"

Reborn turned around to look at his student who had just entered the kitchen. The boy had clearly just gotten out of bed, his long hair in disarray and his pajamas sleep rumpled. His face was still open enough for him to see the concern shining in the boy's eyes.

Tsuna walked to his mother's side and crouched by her chair "Kaa-san" he tried again voice soft.

The woman placed one of her hands atop her son's head passing her fingers through his hair. The other, reached for the small spoon by the cup and started stirring what had now become more sugar than liquid. She left the spoon inside the cup and looked down at her son.

"Tsu-kun you sleepy head" she giggled "sleeping in on a school day. What would your Kyoya-kun say?"

Tsuna lowered his head, his long hair hiding his face.

It was four in the morning.

"Sorry, kaa-san I was feeling a little tired today." He said looking up once more and giving his mom a soft, sad, achingly real smile making Reborn turn his head to the side and tug his fedora down.

"I'm not angry with you my Tsu-kun!" she exclaimed clapping her hands together "You're a good boy."

Reborn approached them both and Tsuna turned to look at him.

"Mama what are you still doing in the kitchen so late in the morning?"

Nana didn't acknowledge him and only started humming again while patting he son's head idly.

"Kaa-san."Said boy called as softly as before, he held the hand in his hair gently and squeezed "What brought you into the kitchen?"

The woman stopped humming and smiled wide "Tsu-kun's Papa called" she stated even as her eyes glazed over "Mama was so happy."

The temperature in the kitchen rose higher and Reborn snapped his head to stare at his student. But the boy had once more lowered his head and his face was thus hidden from Reborn's sight.

"Why did he call kaa-san?"

"He asked about you Tsu-kun" the smile on her face widened "About how you were doing under Reborn's teachings? And you're doing so well aren't you? I told him so."

The hitman frowned at that, he hadn't really been teaching the boy anything besides Mafia History. His plans for the boy were shattered when not only did Tsuna already have a Guardian, but he also had a firm grasp on his Sky Flames.

And if only that was it…The control his student had demonstrated on the roof wasn't possible without previous training. No novice would have been able to wield their flames precisely enough to only burn the dango stick without burning their hands as well, if they didn't end up burning the whole roof that is.

Control didn't come easy when using Flames even more so when it was a Sky in question, leaving a fledging Sky without training had always ended up in a disaster even if said Sky's Flames were on the weaker side of the spectrum.

And Tsuna's flames were anything but weak.

Reborn was the World's Greatest Hitman, he wouldn't have gotten that title, hell, he wouldn't have gotten far in their world if he hadn't learned how to sense Flames, and any ability he learned, he mastered. When Tsuna had used his Flames on that roof, even if it was for a brief moment, the hitman had been able to feel the well of power swirling inside his student and how contained the boy kept his Flames. However, the sheer restrain the boy had on his Flames couldn't be possible without a proper teacher and years of training.

Thinking back on the reports he had gotten from Iemitsu and which had eluded at the boy being a good for nothing civilian without a lick of Flame Activity, made him wonder about the quality, or the lack thereof, of the CEDF's surveillance over the Sawada household.

"Kaa-san let's get you to bed."

Reborn watched as Tsuna helped his mother up, Nana looked at her son still smiling.

"But I have so much to do today Tsu-kun" she interjected patting her son on his cheek "Who knows, your papa may even come check on how things are going himself, I need to be prepared."

Reborn's eyes widened, finally having an inkling at what may be wrong with the woman. Tsuna's head snapped to him eyes shining bright gold for a moment.

"Isn't that another reason for you to take some rest? You'll be so busy if he actually comes back" said the boy, eyes still locked on Reborn.

Nana giggled "You're right Tsu-kun, I'm going to take a nap, wake me up if you need anything." She dislodged herself from her son's arms and started walking up the stairs humming under her breath. A few minutes later they heard a door open and close on the second floor.

Tsuna took the cup and spoon from the table, before walking to the sink and rinsing them without a word. When he finished, he turned around and leaned back on the counter with eyes closed.

"You know what's wrong with her don't you?" Tsuna asked.

Reborn nodded, watching amber as amber eyes opened and stared right into his soul "I believe I do" the boy's head tilted to the side, his face once more a completely blank canvas "Disharmony, Dissonance, Discord, there are a lot of terms defining what your mother is going through. Her flames have essentially turned against her, by the looks of it she must be a Rain which would explain why she seems to live in a constant state of Tranquility. However…" the hitman frowned "Discord usually happens when a guardian bond is snapped abruptly by the Sky's death. Many Elements have gone insane after such a loss. Grief can have terrible consequences on a person's psyche if it's not attended to properly. In the case of an individual with active flames these consequences are also echoed by their flames, they would either turn against their wielder or twist into another flame type which never ends quite well. But your mother's Sky isn't really dead is he?"

No, there had only ever been two Skies in the Sawada household, both of them still very much alive. One was standing in front of him, and the other had left a broken Rain for his son to take care of, a Rain he had broken.

Tsuna shook his head "He is still very much alive in Italy, or so I've been told."

The boy's gaze turned to the stairs before going back to stare at Reborn.

"Discord is the result of a psychological trauma left to fester until it broke an element's psyche and turned their flames inward and against them, or breaking their will enough to completely change their flame type and render them insane. Said trauma could be something else beside the death of a Sky then, right?"

"It's extremely rare but yes. You have an idea about what could have caused it then?"

"My mother married Iemitsu young, going against the advice of everyone around her, be they friends of family. They hadn't even known each other for that long you see" the boy was staring out the kitchen window arms crossed over his chest, he seemed completely relaxed.

"Flame Attraction is potent, however, and not easily shakable and she thought she was in love." He continued "Her parents never forgave her for marrying him and going against their words, they still don't talk to her. And her friends, she left in Kyoto where she used to live. The only person she could lean on was her new husband. Iemitsu stayed with her for twelve months, leaving the day I was born and tearing the Flame Bond, which had grown between them, ruthlessly apart. He left her alone in a place she knew nothing about with a baby to raise."

He turned back to look at Reborn " You told me that harmonizing with a Sky felt like finally finding a home after being lost for a long time and not knowing it. Now imagine having that taken from you so harshly, so suddenly, living you to feel as if your home had burned around you while you were still inside. But if only that was the last of it, because Iemitsu came back every two months or so. He would stay with us for the time it took to rekindle their guardian bond, only for him to leave just after, shattering it again, and again, and again with each visit."

Reborn bowed his head slightly, his fedora casting shadows over his face. That would have been torture for the poor woman, even more so because she wouldn't have known what was happening to her. The only time she could probably feel if only a little bit like herself would be in the presence of her son or Iemitsu because of their Flame type.

'I need to get Shamal in here' he thought 'And put a bullet through Iemitsu's head. What does that Cazzo di merda think he's doing ? The only worse thing he could have done is seal his son's Flames'

"Are you planning on going back to sleep Tsuna ?" he asked his student who had been staring out the window once more.

"No" he answered looking at the hitman quizzically.

"Good, because I have been planning on starting your training in fire arms for a while" he stated eyes gleaming "And I'm sure I can get a couple of Iemitsu's pictures for target practice if only I had a little time with your computer and printer."

"Oh?" Tsuna's smile was just a little bit less serene just a bit more malicious to Reborn's eyes "Lead the way Sensei."

…O…O…O….

The bright green eyes that stared at him from the paper looked so lifelike that Tsuna thought they would suddenly blink at him. It was the first time he had gotten the shade of green and the feelings that brimmed in those eyes right.

The uptake in the noise of the classroom made him raise his eyes from his sketchbook, only to see a silver haired boy standing by Nezu-sensei's side. He was dressed like a common yakuza goon, jewelry included.

Tsuna idly wondered how much time it would take for Kyouya to strike the boy down. His breathing, however, hitched when he finally met the boy's green eyes which glimmered with barely restrained violence.

…O…O…O….

His eyes…

His eyes showed just how brightly, how strongly he would rage for them.

…O…O…O….

Thank you for reading.

I hope you enjoyed it ~~
