Sorry for the delay to the upload of this chapter. I wasn't happy with how I had wrote the coronation, so instead I rewrote the entire chapter. I'm surprised that nobody has worked out a few hints about the Grangers I spread throughout the story. Ah well, we'll find out about their family history together!

To the guest reviewer who wrote "That's your choice alone. I have nothing to do with it and certainly no influence in the choice. Why not just let us read the story?". I have already written that segment, bt

Potter Manor, Ravenstall, Ravenswood

31st July 1996

Emma Granger was happy seeing her eldest daughter having fun with her friends. Born Emma Puckle in the summer of 1953, she was the daughter of Charles and Elizabeth Puckle. Training to be a dentist at Birmingham University, she met Daniel Granger, the son of Robert and Jane Granger, a World War II veteran and a bus conductress.

The two of them fell in love instantly, and it was Daniel who, in 1978, had proposed to her following the end of their exams in their final year of University. They had originally planned to move to a house in the nearby New Town of Redditch, however due to the illness of Emma's mother, they opted to choose to move to a house not far from the Puckles in the town of Bagshot, Surrey.

Emma, being the cleverer of the two, passed her degree with Honours, arranged for the couple to work for the practice of family friend and mentor, Jerry Wilson. The trio had got on well together, although Emma had to take the last couple of months of 1979 and the first few months of 1980 to look after the couples daughter, Hermione. Hermione was, unbeknown to her, magical, much like one of her own recent ancestors

It was not long after Hermione's birth, however, that Elizabeth Puckle died, followed a few months later by her husband. Emma ended up in a deep depression, which ultimately resorted in her having to undergo Counselling.

Not long after that, in the February of 1982, Emma would find herself pregnant with another girl, and in September of 1982 would give birth to Erin Francis Granger, named after Emma's great-grandmother and Robert's mother.

Emma was always keen to investigate her family history, and had managed to trace it back to her great-grandmother Erin, who was the mistress of Odell Longbottom, a specialist in botany. It would not be until Emma would arrive at Potter Manor to find that her great-grandmother was not infact a mistress, but a bound concubine, a slave by magic.

At the same time, she would read that that Odell Longbottom, who was in fact a wizard, and was the Head of the Ancient and Most Noble House, having taken his position at the age of 17 due to the death by Dragon Pox of his father and grandfather, a wizard who could trace his line to the days of Hogwarts Founder Godric Gryffindor, the same Gryffindor that her older daughter Hermione would be Sorted into in 1991.

Young Erin Granger, however, would not have the magical genes, and so would go to a nearby private school for the intellectually gifted in the September of 1993.

Emma would remember how Hermione would tell her about to friends in her life for the first two years of her Hogwarts career, Ronald Weasley and Harry Potter. The older Granger knew, however, that her daughter was in love with the Potter lad, and she had supported Hermione in telling him about her feelings, although Hermione was unable to, thinking that her best male friend would reject her.

Then Third Year came and Hermione reported that Christmas that she had had an argument with Harry and Ronald, and that she thought Harry would not want to talk to her again because of something she had done out of concern for him. Hermione had told her about how she had become friends with some girls in one of her classes, Daphne Greengrass, Megan Jones and Mandy Brocklehurst, along with a boy named Neville Longbottom.

It would be those three girls who would help Hermione in her Forth Year to help Harry during his tenure as the "unwilling" competitor of the TriWizard Tournament, but Emma would find out from her daughter that she had not taken Harry to the Yule Ball, even though she had planned on asking him, but had instead been taken by a boy named Viktor Krum.

Emma was furious at her daughter. She had known that Hermione had feelings for Harry, but had instead taken another person, someone 3 years older than her who was already an adult. When Hermione had gotten back from Hogwarts, Emma and Daniel had questioned their daughter's sanity and morals, to which Hermione had tried to answer back with a comment about how "if she had waited for Harry, she would have ended up having to wait til New Years" and how she "had considered asking him, but he asked, and had got rejected by, Cho Chang."

"Maybe Hermione, Harry had tried to ask that Cho girl because he was scared of losing your friendship. Have you ever thought that the reason he may have been scared to ask you because of the way his home life is." Daniel told his daughter. "Remember Hermione, you yourself told me that Ronald and his brothers had to rescue him from his family before his second year."

Hermione had cried at that, cried about how she had messed up. Emma had cuddled her daughter and told her to "make it up with him, talk to Harry, let him know your feelings."

And then Hermione's Fifth Year happened. Emma and Dan had received few letters from their older daughter, unlike Erin, who was already telling her parents daily about what was happening at school daily. It was during this Christmas break that Erin had took her parents to one side and told them something that they had already worked out, that she was a lesbian.

Naturally they supported their youngest daughter when she told them, and told her that they would be supportive of her, no matter if she was straight, bisexual or lesbian.

When Hermione had come back from her Fifth Year at Hogwarts sporting an injury to her chest, Emma was half tempted to pull her out of Hogwarts. Hermione, however, had stopped her in her tracks by telling her one thing.

"If I go from Hogwarts, I'm taking Harry with me."

And Hermione meant it, because she was in love with Harry Potter. She had admitted that some more girls her age had joined her circle of friends, girls such as Hannah Abbot, Susan Bones and a "wonderful fey girl" named Luna Lovegood.

But disaster would strike for the Granger family again, as Daniel Granger, Emma's husband, would get killed on the way from doing a locum shift in a village called Brockdale. The media and the best experts were at a loss on how the perfectly constructed bridge would just cleanly snap in two.

Emma had her suspicions, ones which was later proved by the Daily Prophet that Hermione had subscribed to that it was a Death Eater attack.

She could see how, when the remains of the Granger family had arrived at Potter Manor, Hermione had deflated when the Bones girl had told her that she and Harry had been betrothed thanks to his Godfather, a choice that Harry was not happy about, but was prepared to keep Susan safe.

The shocks had yet to come, as it would be a few days later that Albus Dumbledore, the man who Hermione had respected up until her arrival at Potter Manor, had put her up for sale. But when Harry promised her that he would buy her, would save her, because he loved her, Emma knew that Harry had the best of intentions for Hermione.

Watching her daughter and her friends discuss how Potter Manor had a Quidditch Pitch that Harry had yet to try, she could smile, even though Emma knew that Hermione would end up with the same fate as her ancestor Erin Puckle.

A life as a concubine. Loved by her wizard, but doomed to not leave a magical legacy to her children.

House of the People, Government House, Ravenstall, Ravenswood

31st July 1996

The House of the People was the two oldest part of the Isle of Ravenswood still in existence. Built in 1512, it was the site of the first meeting of the People's Representatives to the Government of Ravenswood.

Although the House of the People does not formally elect the prime minister, by convention and in practice, the prime minister is answerable to the House, and therefore must maintain its support. In this way, the position of the parties in the House is of overriding importance. Thus, whenever the office of prime minister falls vacant, the monarch appoints the person who has the support of the House, or who is most likely to command the support of the House—normally the leader of the largest party in the House—while the leader of the second-largest party becomes the leader of the Opposition.

Ravenswood was traditionally been a three party state, with leadership often passing between the Progressive Party and the Traditionalist Party. Whilst the King of Ravenswood, that being the Lord and Head of the Ancient and Most Noble House of Potter, the government is responsible for passing laws and running of the country, much like other Kingdoms such as Great Britain.

The House of the People may indicate its lack of support for the government by rejecting a motion of confidence or by passing a motion of no confidence. Confidence and no confidence motions are phrased explicitly: for instance, "That this House has no confidence in the Government".

During the 18th Century the House of the People underwent an important period of reform Over the years, several anomalies had developed in borough representation. The constituency boundaries had not been changed since 1660, so many towns whose importance had declined by the 18th century still retained their ancient right of electing two members, whereas towns such as St George's, named after the Saint in which the Gryffindor family were descended from, King's Landing, where Tiberus Peverell had landed following his expedition from France, and the capital, Ravenstall, were only allowed to elect one member for the entire population of the Isle.

One of the traditions in the House of the People, however, was that the Crowning of the new monarch was hosted in its chambers. This has happened since King Henry II, the twenty-seventh King of Ravenswood, was crowned.

Harry was to be designated as the fifty forth King of the Isle, and he was worried. Although his guests who had arrived at the Manor earlier in the day, Amelia Bones, Kingsley Shacklebolt, Nymphadora Tonks and Hestia Jones hadn't returned from wherever they had gone, and it was worrying him.

Knowing that he was expected to go into the Chamber shortly, he sighed, hoping that for one moment, he could just have a normal life.

Minister of Magic's Office, Ministry of Magic, London, England

31st July 1996

Cornelius Fudge was angry. There had been a break out of Azkaban, led by Bellatrix Lestrange and her husband, and amongst those was felons who had been convicted following the infamous Battle of the Ministry that had occurred nearly a month ago.

When he had heard the news from his new Senior Undersecretary, Percy Weasley, he had demanded that the Head Auror and the Head of the DMLE go to the scene. But Weasley had bad news for him.

They were not able to be contacted.

So he had sent Rufus Scrimgeour and John Dawlish to the scene to ascertain the situation, and Dawlish had come back mere minutes later to say that the wards of the prison were completely down, as if they had not even been up to begin with.

He had tried to get the Head Unspeakable, who was known to him as Algie Croaker, to go out to deal with the Wards, however the Head Unspeakable was called away by a magical pager on his robe belt.

Fudge had then strolled down to the Department for Magical Law Enforcement to try and see if Amelia Bones or Kingsley Shacklebolt had reported in, but just as he had arrived, there was an 'All Auror Alert' from the Floo Regulation Network.

Having returned to his office, he read the report that had been left overnight from the DMLE regarding the murder of his Undersecratary's death.

"Preliminary findings suggest that Madam Umbridge's home was invaded by a singular person containing the magical signatures that have the F1 C5 B4 coding. This signature narrows the suspect field to the total of up to 15 different suspects, all from 6 different families with that common signature. Those families are the McLaggen, Potter, Pettigrew, Weasley, Diggle, Lockhart and Moody families.

"Of these, we can eliminate three of those due to the Trace on their wand showing them at their home residence. All but one of the remaining persons have Adult status and are therefore exempt from the trace, and one person has absconded within the last 10 days and is still subject to the Trace on their wand. We are unable to locate that person.

"This narrows it down to 12 suspects.

"We are unable to narrow it down any further due to interference from the Unspeakables in the Department for Mysteries and the Head of the DMLE being obstructive and uncooperative in this investigation. The Unspeakables have attempted to hide this as a 'National Secret', under the authority of the Head Unspeakable."

Seeing the Potter name on the report, Fudge smiled.

'I've got you now Potter. Murder of a Ministry Official. Not even Madam Bones can save you now.'

Potter Manor, Ravenstall, Ravenswood

31st July 1996

It was nearly eleven in the evening by time the group of Amelia Bones and two of her three loyal Aurors had arrived back at Potter Manor, not long after Harry, Susan and her family, Luna and her father, Neville and his grandmother, the Grangers, Greengrasses, Megan and Mandy had returned from the Coronation of the King of Ravenswood.

Harry had dreaded the meal, as despite having spent the last week in Potter Manor, he had never been to a formal meal. The waiting staff were all House Elves and he watched as Hermione was discussing with her mother and sister were discussing House Elf rights with the Prime Minister.

"We pay our Elves a proper wage, and give them two days off a week." McClune had told her. "Its the equivalent to 20 British Galleons a week."

"But thats only £100 a week." Hermione had replied to him. "That's slave labour."

"It was a struggle to get them to accept even that. You see, a House Elf only requires one thing to keep them alive, a witch or wizards magic. Unlike our British neighbours, we strive to try and give our Elves at least some pay, but it is hard to get them to accept it." McClune explained. "Contrary to popular belief, a House Elf's magic is limited by the lack of a wand. However, unlike some other magical beings, the House Elf is actually quite happy not to own a wand, as they do not require one for their daily activities. Apart from routine domestic tasks, house-elves usually have to obtain permission from their master before they would use their own brand of magic for other things.

"All house-elves have their own brand of powerful magic, which allows them to perform tasks, such as Apparating, where wizards and witches cannot. More than just a mere housekeeper, a House Elf is a ruthless protector of those to whom they give their allegiance." McClune had continued. "Despite the seemingly horrid lifestyle that some house-elves endure, House Elves seem to actually enjoy being enslaved, in fact, they will feel insulted if their master attempts to pay them, give them pensions, or reward their service with anything except kindness. It was due to legislation that we in Ravenswood pay the Elves a wage, to which we encourage them to use for purchasing things like a Uniform, or a luxury for their family.

"We encourage House Elves to have a family and because of that, there is at least 305 Elves in service to the House of the People's Representatives and the Royal Estate, plus near half of that figure for the rest of the population of Ravenswood."

Hermione was about to go into a rant about SPEW, and House Elf Rights, but Harry had saved the day by making a speech thanking the organisers of the meal and coronation for what they had done in organising the event, and generally mentioning his friends and his struggle.

He then went on to explain his vision, a vision where no matter in the Magical World a person was, they would have the same rights, be they Goblin, witch, wizard or any other magical being.

That speech got a huge round of applause, especially from the Minister of Finance, a Goblin named Kicktail who was also the son of the Gringotts Branch Manager, Snapclaw. Kicktail had personally experienced how discrimination in the Magical World has been when his father was Assistant Manager of Gringotts London, he being a lowly teller at the time.

When Harry had gave his speech, Kicktail had approached him and discussed how he and the Goblin Nation would support his venture, one of the reasons for their support being that, despite Gringotts London being one of nearly fifty Gringotts branches in Western Europe, the profit from improvements in Wizard-Goblin Relations would mean that both the Goblin Nation and the Kingdom of Ravenswood would benefit financially.

As the group who had been invited to Potter Manor returned, they were about to head to some beds that had been set up for some of the Estate's Elves when the Aurors had returned.

Harry took one look at them and saw that they had been in a heavy battle, but one person was missing.

"Where's Kingsley?" he asked, curious as to why the tallest of Amelia's group wasn't with him.

"Bellatrix. She blindsided him." Hestia said, looking ready to faint.

Suddenly Susan came running up next to him and hugged Amelia. "Auntie!"

Amelia hugged her niece and her brother who had come up next to her. "We need to go into the drawing room. I think its best we all go."

The group of adults and teens headed to the Drawing Room when Luna, her dad, Mandy and Megan and the Greengrasses all standing back

"Should we go?" Cyrus Greengrass asked Amelia, who looked at Harry to give permission.

Harry took a few seconds and sighed. "It's up to Amelia. She knows more than me so she should know what to decide."

"I think you ought to stay Cyrus." Harry heard Regulus said. "I think some of this might fall into 'Six' Business."

"Should I contact the guv'ner then?" Cyrus replied.

"I'm...I'm not allowed to tell you, you'll have to wait for Director Longbottom to come." Regulus said, at the same time nodding to Cyrus Greengrass. "I think, and I'm sure that you would agree, Your Majesty-"

"Just Harry, please Regulus."

"No Harry, its business, so it's a case of 'Your Majesty'. Anyway, as I was saying, I'm sure that you would agree that the two oldest Greengrass daughters, Madam Longbottom, Mr Longbottom and Miss Bones should be entitled to know about this, especially as for Miss and Miss Greengrass, along with Madam Longbottom and her grandson, this could also be constituted as family business."

"I'll escort Mandy and my neice back home. I'm sure Gwen and Serena won't mind me returning their daughters at this late hour." Hestia said, gathering the coats of her niece and her friend. "I'll make sure they take the Oath though before they depart."

"Actually Aunt Hestia, Mrs Brocklehurst said Mandy could stay at home tonight." Megan said, turning to her Aunt. "Mum has the week off because the Cannons have had to rearrange their match, so she did say that Mandy could come home with me."

"Fair enough Meg." Hestia said. She turned to her boss and nodded, sad at losing a friend and colleague again to the hands of a Death Eater. "I should be back in the next hour or so, mainly to discuss what we need to about what happened.

The two Jones's along with Mandy left the drawing room and headed towards an Elf who supplied them with a boot. After saying the word that was on their, they Portkeyed away, heading back to the Granger's house.

Hermione hugged Harry and smiled. "I'll take Erin and Astoria to the Library. I did want to take a look at that first folio Shakesphere there."

Not long after Hermione left the room, the group were talking amongst themselves when the same Estate Elf that had gave Hestia the portkey, announcing the arrival of Head of Magical Intelligence, Section 6, Algie Longbottom, the great-uncle Algie that Harry remembered had gotten Nevlle a Mimbulus Mimbletonia plant for his birthday last year.

"We're just waiting on Auror Jones before we begin Algeron." Regulus said to his boss. "It concerns the activities Snake-face is involved in. We should also think of getting Agent Vance out of the Order at the same time..."

Sooo...talk about a shock... I certainly did not expect to end it on that, but I am a right git...

The Fudge scene was a bit unplanned, as it only came up in my re-write of the chapter. And no, Algie Croaker and Algie Longbottom are not the same person...Unspeakables do not give their real names to mere Ministers! I have their real name in mind (and in my notes for this fic...)

As to Hermione's family history, the idea came from the family tree I had mentioned in Chapter 6. When I originally wrote the outline for this back in 2017, I had drawn a family tree of both the "Puckles" and the "Grangers". It was from that which I filled in the backstory of Emma Granger (nee Puckle), and then wrote a bit about her sister. Part of their backstory was an ideal fit in with what I had wrote in Dumbles backstory, and also to provide a reason of revenge for Hermione on the 'system' and Dumbles. Obviously, as I mentioned in Chapter 6, Erin Puckle was 'close' with Susan Jones (no relation to Hestia, Megan or Megan's mother Gwenog!)

Next Chapter...Discussions about the battle, someone's wondering around St Mungo's and more on the murder of Dolores Umbridge...
