OMG, she posted something, Holy Cow! I know I have been away for ages and there are stories I let hanging, without so much as a reason why; and to be honest I really don't have a great reason. In my life currently, I have a lot of people I could use as Antag's but not a lot of Protags. Adulting sucks, to be honest; I don't know how long it's going to take me to do another story; or when I'm going to some of my old ones updated. This one came to me and I needed to do it, as a better ending to Chicago PD 4x17; so please don't bug me to do updates they'll come when they come. Bugging me will only make me not want to do it.

"There are no papers," the moment he heard those words his heart stopped, what the hell had the woman in front of him done, he hadn't seen here in eight years and now she was sitting in here in front of him telling him they were still married. Something they never should have done in the first place; neither of them had been in the right frame of mind when it had happened. He had signed the papers and forgotten about it.

"What do you mean there are no papers? Abby, you told me there were," He watched as the woman he used to know, shrugged, he wasn't really listening to her as she explained why she had lied, he was watching the door, He hadn't expected Erin to walk in she had gone to the hospital, she wanted to talk to the girls they had saved today. By the look on her face, she had seen him, sitting here and had guessed who this was.

"Abby, look what happened back then, you and I; we weren't in the right head space. We had just lost a friend, we were black out drunk, and you lied to me; not just about the fiancee, but you told me you had filed them. You left me a message and now you're telling me you didn't? I moved on with my life; I met someone else; someone I love someone who makes me happy and you want me to drop all that because you happened to lie to me about filing those papers?" Jay asked getting up, he had seen the look in Erin's eye and knew she was hurt but he was about to fix that; even if that meant hurting an old friend in the process.

"Jay look, she doesn't know you like I do; she hasn-

She sat there looking at him, shaking his head, she used to be able to tell what was going on inside that head of his, now she had no idea. She went to say something when he showed her the lock screen on his phone, it was a photo of him and the woman she had seen him walking with this afternoon. His arms were wrapped around her and he head rested on his shoulder.

"This is not only my partner but my girlfriend; someone I fought to be with, someone who I love and who loves me. I will not let you ruin this. She is my future, Abby you are my past. This time I will get the papers, and this time you will sign them, even if I had to force you to do so. Also, leave me alone. Don't call me, don't text me. When I have them I will contact you." Jay got up and sighed.

"It was a mistake, Abby, a drunken, mistake between two grieving friends. That's all it was, and that's all it ever will be. Now if you don't mind, I'm going to go join my girlfriend and our friends." Jay got up and walked away, Abby turned to watch him, as made his way over to a group of people standing around a table, he tapped, the woman from the photo on the shoulder, as she turned around he kissed her.

Abby knew she had lost him for good, when his girlfriend smiled and wrapped her arms around him resting her head on his chest, while their friends laughed at something, probably something that had been said. He did look happy, and as much as she wanted to, she knew he would never forgive her if she, tried to come between him and his girlfriend. He was right she belonged in his past, this life, and the people he was with now, were his future.
