Death waited in the dark, silent as a mouse. The two men she watched seemed to be getting antsier the longer they stood there, the only humans in sight. It was a bright room, lights coming from all directions except the one corner the farthest away.

"Riddle, where are we," she heard one ask.

Severus Tobias Snape, 38, horrible childhood, lost any hope of happiness in 1981.

"I don't particularly know, but I must insist you stay quiet. At least until someone shows themselves." She smirked at the second man's answer, enjoying the smallest amounts of annoyance the man was showing.

Tom Marvolo Riddle, depends, horrible childhood, lost any hope of happiness the day he was left at the orphanage.

Both absolutely awful to their Master.

And the only ones she could see helping him.

She stepped out of the dark, a wand held loosely in hand. Her cloak billowed out behind her, a ring shining an eerie red around her neck. Smirking at the suspicion the two showed her, she came to a stop mere meters away from them. "I hope you have been dead long enough to forget old grievances?"

Severus was the first to recoil, the first to understand the danger they were in. "Yes, I suppose. Why does that matter Ms. Death?" And it seemed he would be the first to answer her as well. She smiled, pleased.

"My Master had a... Disastrous childhood. I'm going to send you two to another universe, another timeline, just as I will my Master. You will be the Potter triplets, Harry Potter's brothers. Sadly, I cannot undo the fact my Master is the Boy-Who-Lived, but that doesn't mean I will leave him so defenseless this time. He will not remember this life, not until he dies in his late teens."

She watched as a look of horror passed both of their faces, realizing what was about to ask, demand, of the two.

A small, sadistic grin covered her features as she spoke the reason they were being transferred, full memories and everything. "You are going to raise my Master. You are going to help him become the man he was supposed to be before Albus Dumbledore stuck his bloody paws in everything and mucked it up. You are his and he is yours. Teach him, watch him grow. Love him. He deserves a happy childhood after the great mess he had for his first life."

Pointing her wand to the side, a portal, black and smoking and absolutely not something either of them wanted to step through, opened. "You have no choice in the matter." She smiled sweetly, ignoring the twin glares she received.

They both gave inaudible sighs of defeat before warily stepping through the portal, it closing behind them after.

Death stood there, eyebrows furrowed in confusion. "I forgot to tell them something, but what was it?"

Walking to the very corner she had stepped from earlier, she cackled madly as she remembered. "Forgot to tell them they'd be living every moment that Master was with the Dursley's before." She waved it off moments later, not caring in the slightest about that anymore.

She had to get Master, transfer him to the new universe.
