Disclaimer: I don't own anything.

A/N I'm back! I tried to make this a little lighter then that actual situation called for, but I think everybody could use a little bit of humour after CAP 3:

The current order for the AWB series is Symbol, Return, Nightmare, Frisbee Game, The Dog and the Storm, Raccoon Guy and the finally, Two Days.

I also switched POV at the end, but I tried to make it Omniscient.

Adventures with Bucky: Two Days

The first thing Bucky felt was cold. It was all around him. Yet it was melting away. He opened his eyes and found them looking at the frosted glass of the cryo-tube in front of him. It took him a moment to realise that he was no longer in the hands of Hydra, and he was in-fact safe. He had chosen this, not them. But now he was awake. He still felt a little queasy, his internals still waking up; soon he found himself breathing easier, and his heart beating more steadily. As this happened, the ice on the glass disappeared.

Then he saw Steve.

He smiled at the sight; the lid of the cryo-tube lifted, allowing him to breath fresh air. In a second Steve was at his side, moving his right arm over his shoulder as he helped him down. "How long has it been?" Bucky asked, curious, but also worried. Steve didn't look older, so it couldn't have been that long. Steve sat him down gently, not taking his eyes off him.

A guilty look appeared on Steve's face. "Two days," he replied bluntly.

Bucky stared, nonplussed. "Did you figure something out?" he asked, feeling a tinge of hope form in his heart.

Steve looked like he was about to cry. "No," he replied, voice cracking.

"What? Why am I back?" Bucky asked, frowning; suddenly feeling angry and confused. He couldn't comprehend why he was back, especially if his mind was still compromised.

Steve met his eyes, "I just got you back, Buck. I'm not losing you again," he replied honestly, building up in his eyes.

Bucky shook his head, eyes downcast, "I'm not safe Steve, I can't trust my mind," he said sadly, not wanting to make this difficult.

"Then trust me," Steve said suddenly, taking hold of his shoulders; being obviously careful with his left. "Going back under isn't right, Buck. We can work through this, with you here. We can; I know we can."

"Steve," Bucky said, lowering his head again; wanting to cry at the sight of Steve Rogers breaking down. Once again he remembered, that beneath all that muscle, Steve was still the same scrawny kid from Brooklyn, to dumb to run away from a fight.

Tears fell freely from the captain's face now, "I need you. More than anything Buck," he said, trying to smile.

Wordlessly, Bucky leant forward to embrace his friend. It felt odd, for him to be comforting Steve. Normally it was the other way around. He felt Steve relax slightly, and so he copied. He wasn't happy about being awake, but he supposed Steve was right, and he couldn't bare to see Steve so distraught over him. He wondered what it was like for Steve when he first fell. He pushed the thought aside, that was over. They were both here, in the same time period, together. With a two-day gap, he supposed.

Suddenly, he felt himself beginning to shake.

"Buck?" Steve asked, sounding worried as he tensed.

Bucky continued to shake.

Suddenly, Steve pulled away from the embrace so he could see Bucky's face, expecting to see tears.

He did see tears...and a smile. Bucky was laughing.

"You seriously only lasted two days?" Bucky asked.

Smiling, Steve shoved him. "Shut up, jerk"

"Punk."
