Hello internet. So I have to say that I love the entire" How to Train your Dragon" series. It has given me life. If I could I would own it. Of course if I did there would be a lot more cuteness between Astrid and Hiccup. But seeing as there is not (unfortunately) I obviously do not own it.
I find it mildly ridiculous that I would have to say that before I post a fic, because if I did own it why would I waste my time on fics and not scripts. But apparently I could get into some kind of legal trouble if I don't. Probably. Plagiarizing and stuff.
Okay, well anyway, let's get started. I haven't done one of these
"The most important thing we learned was that Fearless Fin Hofferson was indeed fearless." Hiccup yelled out to the crowd. Making Astrid stand a little taller, swelling with family pride. Then he added, "Just like all the Hoffersons." And she couldn't help but smile.
"Sounds like you did your uncle proud lass." Gobber said as he walked up behind her.
Hiccup reached out to her in congratulations as his father said to the crowd. "And now maybe we can enjoy Arvondales fire."
As the crowd erupted into cheers Astrid leaned close into hiccup and whispered, "Thank you Hiccup."
He smiled at her and nearly laughed as he said, "What do you mean? We couldn't have done it without you. We wouldn't have done it without you. I should be thanking you." Smiling at her, he slid the hand he still had resting on her shoulder down her arm and gave her bicep an encouraging squeeze.
Astrid reached out and wrapped her arms around Hiccup, pulling him into a tight embrace. Nuzzling her face into his shoulder she whispered again, "Thank you for having my back."
Hiccup froze, taken back by the unexpected show of affection. After a second he wrapped his arms around her holding her tight and whispered into her hair "I will always have your back. I told you, training dragons isn't the only thing I think about."
They stood there embracing each other for a moment longer then Astrid pulled away a little and asked, "Do you want to go watch Arvondales fire with me?" Hiccup simply nodded, grinning from ear to ear. They walked off together, not quite touching.
"So Stoick, do you think we should start getting the best yak ready?" Gobber jokingly elbowed his friend.
The chief laughed. "Maybe not quite yet, they are still so young. We shouldn't rush them, we don't want anyone to be blindsided." Stoick watched after his son, smiling as young love began to blossom before his eyes.
Astrid and Hiccup found a large rock to sick on together to watch the sky. They laid on their backs with one hand behind their head and the other laying between them, barley touching the others. They stayed that way for the whole night talking and laughing.
The rising sun pulled Hiccup out of his slumber. He realized there was an abnormal weight on his chest. Before could move he heard the soft snores and saw the blonde hair. Astrid was curled up to his side, resting her head on his chest. He wrapped his arms around her pulling her close and settled in to watch the sunrise. He had dozens of things he had to do today, but nothing he needed to do right away. For now he could just rest with a pretty girl and a sunrise.
Okay so listen, there were a lot of smiles in this story, which is what I do literally every time Hiccup and Astrid have a moment. Sorry not sorry for the fluff.
Hope you liked it.
If not, it was short, you didn't waste much of your life. Asneeze would take longer.
