Uncle Nik led Stefan and me into an empty bar in New York City. I knew Uncle Nik had been here with his sister in the 1920's and had daggered her here. I had met him not long after he had daggered her.

"Looks familiar, doesn't it?" Niklaus asked Stefan. I looked at them curiously wondering what Uncle Nik was talking about. Did he know Stefan in the 1920's?

Stefan looked around amazed, "I can't believe this place is still here."

An African American woman entered the room from the back, "You got to be kidding me." She said when she saw us.

Uncle Nik smiled, "So a hybrid walks into a bar, says to the bartender..."

She held up a hand, "Stop. You may be invincible, but that doesn't make you funny."

She looked at Stefan and recognition spread across her face, "I remember you."

Stefan nodded, "Yeah. You're Gloria. Shouldn't you be...? "

Gloria laughed as she finished his question for him, "Old and dead? Now if I die, who's going to run this place, huh?"

Niklaus smirked, "Gloria's a very powerful witch."

"I can slow the aging down some. Herbs and spells. But don't worry, it'll catch up to me one day." Gloria explained to Stefan.

"Stefan, why don't you go and fix us up a little something from behind the bar?" Niklaus ordered Stefan.

"Yeah, sure thing," Stefan replied as he disappeared behind the bar.

"A whiskey for me, please brother dear," I called after him sweetly, he only grunted in reply. I wondered if he would actually get me something this time.

"You I don't know," Glori said as she turned to me, studying me intently.

"This is my niece, Stella," Niklaus introduces me. "Stella, this is Gloria, she runs the bar. She's been a friend since the 20's."

I smiled at her, "it's nice to meet you."

Gloria nodded, "It's nice to meet you too, I'm sure."

Uncle Nik smiles charmingly at Gloria, "You look ravishing, by the way."

Gloria frowned at him, "Don't. I know why you're here. A hybrid out to make more hybrids? That kind of news travels."

"So what am I doing wrong? I broke the curse." Niklaus turned all serious.

I cocked my head waiting for Gloria's answer. I was curious about the issue was. I noticed that Stefan was paying attention as well, although he was trying to do so without anyone noticing.

Gloria scoffed, "Obviously you did something wrong. Look, every spell has a loophole, but a curse that old...We'd have to contact the witch who created it."

Niklaus snorted in derision, "Well, that would be the original witch. She's very dead."

"I know. And for me to contact her, I'll need help. Bring me Rebekah."

I watched Gloria and Niklaus carefully wondering what was going to happen next. Out of the corner of my eye I notice Stefan pull a photo off the wall and look at it. Niklaus started talking again and I ignored Stefan for the moment.

"Rebekah. Rebekah is a bit preoccupied."

Gloria stared Uncle Nik down, "She has what I need. Bring her to me."

"What is this?" Stefan approached us with the picture in his hand.

Niklaus responded nonchalantly, "Well, I told you, Stefan. Chicago's a magical place."

Stefan frowned, "But this is me. With you."

Stefan showed us the picture as he protested. It's was a picture of Stefan with his arm around Niklaus' shoulders in the 1920s. I raised an eyebrow, guess that answered my question. Niklaus didn't reply as he started walking out of the bar with Stefan and me trailing behind, Stefan still holding the picture.

Uncle Nik led us to a warehouse while Stefan obsessed over the picture.
"This doesn't make any sense. Why don't I remember you?" Stefan asked.

"You said it yourself: that time had a lot of dark holes."

Stefan shook his head, "No, if you knew me, then why haven't you said anything?"

Niklaus huffed a little, "I'm a little busy right now. Memory Lane will have to wait."

"What the hell is going on? Answer me." Stefan demanded as I rolled my eyes, what a drama king.

Uncle Nik rolled his eyes, "Let's just say we didn't get off to a brilliant start. To be honest, I hated you." He proceeded to tell us about how Stefan had met Rebekah first and tried to stand up to Niklaus in Rebekah's defense.

"Your sister. So I knew another Original vampire." Stefan mused.

"If you can't handle it, then don't ask," Niklaus replied.

I followed Uncle Nik over to the row of coffins. "Which one of your siblings am I more like?" I asked Niklaus as I let my magic wash over each coffin.

I easily pinpointed my father and steered clear of that one. There was no need to put my uncle on edge right now.

Uncle Nik eyed me, "You're a lot like your father, but have some characteristics the same with my siblings. Except Finn, you're not much like him, but you might be more like me."

I nodded, "That makes sense. I have spent more time with you. And we both have been betrayed..." I trailed off here, I was going to say by a parent but I realized Stefan was present and that was too much information to give him.

Uncle Nik opened one of the caskets, inside lay Rebekah. I felt like I was intruding as Niklaus leaned down slightly, smiling as he caresses her face.

"I don't recognize her." Stefan spoke up.
Uncle Nik smirked, "Well, don't tell her that. Rebekah's temper is worse than mine."

I rolled my eyes, I had figured out by now that Niklaus had compelled Stefan to forget about him and Rebekah. I didn't say anything as Uncle Nik pulled the dagger out of my Aunt's chest. I felt a little anxious as he did so, wondering what she would think of me.

Niklaus turned and looked at me as if he sensed my anxiety. "She'll love you," he whispered too low for Stefan to hear.

I smiled weakly at him as he turned back and spoke to his sister, "Time to wake up, little sister. Any day now, Rebekah. She's being dramatic."

Stefan huffed impatient, "Look, why don't you just tell me what the hell is going on? I mean, you obviously want me here for a reason, right?"

Niklaus smirked, "Well, you have many useful talents."

"Do I?" Stefan frowned.

Uncle Nik eyes Stefan knowingly, "In fact, I learned some of my favorite tricks from you."

I rolled my eyes, "Why do I have to be here?"

"Stefan go wait outside. I'll be right there." Uncle Nik directed to my brother-in-law before turning and glaring at me. "You know exactly why you are here."

I pouted, "I've learned my lesson."

"Uh huh sure." Niklaus grunted.

"Really I have."

"Have you figuered out how to reverse the spell?"

I snorted, "Of course." It hadn't been that hard and I had plenty of time to do so.

Uncle Nik stared at me hard considering what I had said. "How long will it take to break it?"

I shrugged, "Not that long."

"Okay, break it. Stay here and wait for your aunt." He replied.

"Is that the best idea?" I asked hesitantly.

He shrugged, "You don't want to be with Stefan and me. So therefore you are with your aunt. Don't touch the other caskets though. I'm trusting you, sweetheart, don't disappoint me."

"Ok Uncle Nik," I replied softly.
