I've written this one-shot because I thought it'd be funny. Enjoy!

"Has anyone here seen Fidget this morning?" Basil asked.

Mr. Flaversham, Olivia, Dawson, and Mrs. Judson shook their heads.

"Hmm… I wonder what is going on with him?" Basil pondered.

"Maybe he's sleeping in longer than he's supposed to," Olivia guessed. She knew Fidget liked to sleep in until after 9 AM or 10 AM.

Basil's eyes widened at her words. "You could be right, Miss Flanchan, although it may be unlikely for him."

She shrugged her shoulders.

"Well, then, what are we waiting for?" Basil said.

"We've got to go upstairs and find him," declared Dr. Dawson.

"And wake him up," Mr. Flaversham finished.

"That silly bat can't be sleeping until noon," Olivia said and chuckled lightly at the thought as they climbed up the stairs.

Fidget was sound asleep, snoring and laughing in his room, huddled up in the covers and blankets of comfort, having sweet dreams without his ex-employer, Ratigan to disturb him. The bat smiled with his ears down in his sleep, feeling comfortable and safe from his criminal past.

"Fidget, dear, wake up!" Mrs. Judson called now that she and her master, Basil and his friends were up in his room. "Your breakfast is getting cold." Mrs. Judson set Fidget's bowl of oatmeal on his nightstand, but no sudden movement was made from the slumbering creature.

"Fidget, it's almost noon," Basil said in a sing-song voice to the tired bat, but it still didn't produce any results. Then, he tried tickling him out of his nap. Fidget giggled, but that didn't help him get out of his sleeping state. He nuzzled against the pillows as though he were snuggling against a loving parent's warm body.

Basil took it to the next level. He'd done so by having Dawson rub Fidget's back, but nothing changed. Fidget kept catching his Zs.

Mr. Flaversham, who had been a toymaker, turned on the cuckoo clock, but the bat continued snoozing.

"Hmm…" Basil said thoughtfully, rubbing his chin.

"Hmm, what?" Dawson asked.

"We're going over by Toby," Basil replied and to the Flavershams, "Flavershams, stay with Mrs. Judson while we get Toby. He'll scare Fidget awake unless you find other ideas." He closed the door behind him.

Olivia crawled into bed, putting one hand on Fidget's back. "Fidget, why are you so shleepy?" she cooed gently. She then put her nose on his. Even that didn't help, but she had another idea. She kissed him on the cheek.

Fidget's eyes fluttered as he awoke. "Livy?" Fidget asked sleepily.

Olivia smiled. "Morning, Fidget."

"Morning," the bat responded.

In case he went back to sleep, Flaversham blew his horn. Olivia and Mrs. Judson covered their ears. Fidget screamed and jumped.

"Hey! Are you trying to give me a heart attack?" Fidget growled. "Do you really need to do that?!"

"I did that in case you feel asleep again," Flaversham replied, "You've been sleeping almost all morning."

Fidget panted heavily. "Wait. I have? Oh, no." He shook his head in shame.

"You're lucky it's not even noon yet," Flaversham continued.

Fidget exhaled in relief.

Toby howled, but more like a rooster, which alerted Fidget and the three mice in the room.

"Well, now," said Basil, who was standing on top of Toby's head alongside Dawson, "Look who's awake."

"It was thanks to Livy and her dad," Fidget said.

"Why on earth did you sleep in so long?" Basil asked.

"Oh, I'm afraid that all of you will be like Ratigan and force me to wake up," Fidget answered with a sigh.

Basil nodded in understanding.

"Fidget, now that you're awake, I'm going to reheat your breakfast," Mrs. Judson told him.

"Thanks," the bat said as he climbed out of bed.

The big dog licked him, making him laugh, so Fidget pet him.

In that same morning, Fidget finally had his oatmeal with toast, brown sugar, and milk on top of it.

Basil and the others gave him a back massage.

"It's good that you're awake," Olivia said as she kissed the bat on the cheek and what a beautiful morning it was.
