The party was still in full swing and in typical wedding fashion, everyone was pretty drunk. The groom's themselves were milling around, chatting to everyone, always coming back to each other with grins on their faces. When suddenly "SPEECH!" who shouted first, they didn't know, but soon the whole pub was chanting "speech! Speech! Speech!"
They were currently holding onto each other and they looked around at everyone chanting, shaking their heads. Aaron looked at his mom. "Come on, we didn't get to see your vows, you've got to give us something." She said with a slight slur. The pub cheered in agreement.
"Alright, alright! You'll get your speech!" Aaron moaned.
Robert looked at him curiously. "I'll go first" he said. Aaron shook his head. "No, let me."
Robert was surprised but let Aaron carry on. They too were tipsy but it didn't take away the meaning of the words.
Aaron cleared his throat and looked around the room. "Well first off, thank you all for coming. Sorry you kind of missed the main part. But I guess I should say some words about my husband." He looked at Robert grinning. "I never thought that me, of all people, would ever get married. I didn't even think I wanted to get married. But then so much happened. And here we are." He looked Robert in the eye as if he was talking to just him. "I met you and you changed everything" he said, echoing words that Robert had said to him before. "Thank you. For everything." He kissed Robert on the cheek and everyone clapped.
"Go on Robert love, your turn." Dianne spurred on after a minute.
Robert took a deep breath. "I just want to repeat Aaron's thank you. It means a lot to us that you're all here. I know that things have been strange. I don't want to say that I didn't think I'd get married cause well, I've already been married. But I really hope this one goes a bit better than the last one." A few chuckles around the room. "I didn't accept who I was for a long time. It was hard for me to be who I truly was. But I'm glad that I finally accepted myself because it means that I now get to be with the man I love for the rest of our lives." Again everyone clapped and cheered. Chas put the party music back on and everyone went back to their partying.
Robert hugged Aaron and kissed him on the head.
"Robert."
Robert broke the hug to look at him. "Yeah?"
Aaron smiled at him; the happiest he'd ever been. "I love you too."
