Chapter Nineteen

"Murphy to Reyes. I repeat Murphy to Reyes, come in Reyes." Murphy said into the radio. He kicked the wall he was leaning against. Maya creeped out from the other side of the wall.

"Still nothing?" She asked timidly. Murphy groaned and punched the wall. "Maybe the signal is just weak," Maya suggested innocently.

"Yes, Maya maybe they didn't get hit by a missile, that was headed straight for them," Murphy responded as rubbed his hand.

"Hey, look I'm just suggesting that they might have taken out the spotter before the missile struck." Maya huffed indignantly. The radio in John's hand crackled.

"Come in Murphy, Blake to Murphy." Came a distorted voice. Murphy brought the radio up to his mouth.

"Octavia, is that you? What happened to the others?" He demanded. Maya came closer.

"No, it's Bellamy. We found Raven's spare radio; it's bad Murphy." The voice coming through clearer and more masculine. Murphy pinched his brow between his fingers.

"Lexa. Is Lexa alive? What about Clarke? Raven?" Murphy demanded into the radio.

"I don't know yet. Octavia is digging them out now. The missile hit Lexa's tent. As far as we know, they were all inside with Wick and Issal-lora." Bellamy's voice broke over the handmaiden's name. Murphy signed.

"His girlfriend, great just when we need him focused," Murphy said to Maya. Murphy sighed again. Maya and Murphy heard a pounding of footsteps. "We need to move." He said, and he grabbed Maya's arm and hauled her away. They ran down the hallway. Maya spotted a closet and pulled Murphy with her. They heard the footsteps hurry past. Murphy flipped the light on. He spotted the air vent in the ceiling. "We need to get to the turbine room," Murphy told her. She nodded.

"Okay, Blake we need Raven, find her and get her talking. You're going to need Camp Jaha, send someone." Murphy ordered Bellamy.

"Yeah, I can do that," Bellamy said quietly.

"Okay, I'm going to get you in that air vent, and then I'm going up," Murphy said as he bent down and cupped his hands for Maya to place her foot in. She did, and he boosted her up into the vent. Murphy flipped over a box and climbed his way into the vent.

Zo groaned as she woke up, rubbing her barely swollen stomach. She sat up and paced her small cell again. After the president had learned what Cage and the doctor had done to her, he decided that she should not be seen anymore. So he locked her up, he gave her whatever she wanted though. Paints, pencils, a magic box that had moving pictures and books anything he thought she might like and would keep her happy and eating. She tolerated it; she was as a prisoner. She deserved her freedom, her wife, her sister, but she was tired. She was tired of fighting and fighting; she had become numb to it all. The door of her cell crept open. Dante Wallace entered carrying a tray of food.

"Come sit up. Time to eat." He told her as he set the tray down in front of her. Zo pulled herself into a sitting position with her knees to her chest. The president sat down in the chair by the bed. He gave Zo the standard minute to start eating. When she didn't, he forced the bowl into her hands. "Eat." He ordered. She complied. When she was finished, she placed the bowl back on the tray. Dante sighed. The girl laid down and rolled back over.

"Daddy!" Roger yelled as he watched Abby throw things in their living quarters.

"Shut up!" Abby yelled at him, enraged. "I am so sick of you, little brat!" She screamed at the little blonde boy. "Shut up!" She flipped over the table. Roger ran from the room start into Sergeant Miller.

"Roger, what's wrong buddy?" He asked the little boy as he crouched down with his hands on the boy's shoulders. The sound of Abby's indignant yelling filled the hallway. Miller scooped up the boy and whisked him away. Miller stopped outside Jake's office and banged on the door. Jake opened the door to reveal his crying son and an out of breath security officer.

"Again?" Jake asked him, Miller nodded. Jake crouched down in front of his son. "Hey buddy, Sergeant Miller is going to watch some old football games in my office, okay?" Jake told his son softly as he ruffled his hair. Roger walked into the office; Jake caught Miller's arm around the elbow before he could join the boy. "I need your cuffs and your shock baton." He told him softly so Roger wouldn't hear. Miller nodded and obliged, handing over the items. He turned back to Roger with a smile on his face.

"My favorite team is the Steelers. What's yours, buddy?" He asked him. Jake shut the door as Miller took a seat next to the youngster. Jake sighed and ran his free hand through his hair, the other gripping the shock baton. Jake started down the hallway. He heard her screams before he even reached the door. Jake hesitated outside the door of their apartment, debating if he wanted to do this to the mother of his children. Jake heard the sound of shattering glass, which strengthened his resolve. Jake opened the door and clicked on the shock baton.

Roan groaned as the tight hands gripping his wrists continued to drag him down the long tiled hallway, at least it felt like tile to him, he couldn't see due to the hood currently over his head. Roan was jerked to a stop, and his head forced back up, his feet forced back under him. His hands were forced behind his back. The hood was ripped off of Roan's head revealing at first a blinding light, but the familiarity of his own family's throne room. His mother was sitting on the throne grinning.

"Hello, my son," she said as he hauled up to his feet. Roan spit blood out of his mouth.

"What is the meaning of this?" He demanded.

"You're not in the position to demand things." Echo retorted. Nia held up a hand to silence them.

"You have been a very bad boy, Prince Roan. You have not served your queen well. It's time for your punishment for siding with the Commander." Queen Nia informed him.

"How have I served the Commander as opposed to you?" Roan demanded.

"Were you not meant to kill her? To give Clarke the signal? What happened instead? Clarke fell in love with the Commander. She won't kill her now, that's why we had a back-up plan!" Queen Nia told him, her volume increasing on each word till at last, she was yelling at him. "My beloved son has betrayed me!" She yelled at him.

"And what about our people? Have you not betrayed them, me? By lying for fifteen years about Clarke!" Roan roared back. Queen Nia visibly exhaled to calm herself.

"Regardless of this you have betrayed your queen and your nation, for your punishment Prince Roan the Second I hereby banish you to the Dead Zone. However being that you are my prized son, I offer you a chance at redemption. Bring me, Clarke, preferably alive, and I will lift your banishment." Queen Nia told him.

"What will you do to her?" Roan asked her.

"That's not your concern if you want your throne back. Remember she's not your sister." Nia told him.

"I won't do it," Roan told her.

"Then you'll enjoy the Dead Zone till you change your mind. Take him away." Queen Nia ordered.

"Move Clarke, now," Lexa ordered her as she grabbed her arm to drag the younger girl after her.

"But, Lexa the people!" Clarke protested. Clarke and Lexa had gone in one direction while Wick had carried Raven off into the opposite direction.

"There will be more of them. We cannot go back until it's safe." Lexa told her not being too gentle tugging her along.

"But we just let that missile hit our people; we need to help them!" Clarke protested again as she finally freed herself from Lexa's grasp.

"If we go back now, they will know that we let that missile hit them. And it will tear the army apparent. Now move we need to take out the other Mountain Men." Lexa told her.
