"NO! NO! NOOOOOOO!"

A mop went swiping towards Casey, who only just managed to dodge it.

"I JUST MOPPED THIS FLOOR!" April screamed, pointing to the snow/slush footprints Casey had brought in with him, "YOU-YOU- "

"Hey, hey, hey!" Casey dug his heels in as she tried to force him back out of the door, "You can't throw me out! This was my grandmother's house, which makes it mine!"

Donnie glanced up from the toaster, watching as April turned almost as red as her hair…. Which seemed to finally convince Casey that he was treading on dangerous territory.

"Umm, if you guys need me, I'll be outside!" He yelped, before he was running back out.

Yoshi chuckled from his meditation mat.

His own wife was once the same, and it was never a good idea to get on her bad side.

As April stormed into the other room, muttering about Neanderthals, Raph came downstairs, frowning at the practically empty living room.

"Where is everyone?"

"Casey's been ejected form the ball-park." Donnie sniggered, continuing with his tinkering of the toaster, "April's in the kitchen. I think Mikey went out to explore the woods- "

"- Despite explicit instructions to stay near the house." Yoshi sighed wearily, already planning the perfect punishment in his mind.

"…. And Leo?"

Donnie winced, "He's… kind of been moping around in the barn all morning."

"Again?"

"Your brother has suffered injuries both physical and spiritual Raphael." Yoshi gently scolded, "And he will need the support of all of us if he is to fully heal."

Raphael was silent for a few moments, before leaving the room.

"That went well." Donnie muttered, flinching as April then stormed back into the room, collapsing onto the sofa.

"What is it about Casey Jones that makes me- UGH!" She grabbed a pillow and screamed into it, before pulling it away, "Master Splinter, maybe you can teach me to meditate so I won't be so mad at him?"

"Even meditation has its' limits."

"Where have you been?" Casey snatched the bag of nuts from Squirrel Mikey as the teen shifted back, "I haven't seen you all morning."

"I've just been wandering the woods." Mikey shrugged, snatching the bag back.

"Well I've got news for ya kid. Crazy old Mister Hatchett next door? He likes wandering those woods too!"

"Tell me about it!" Mikey shook his head, "He set his pit bull on me! Me! An innocent little rabbit…. I had to shift into a bear to get that thing to back off!"

"You shifted? Right where he could see you?!" Casey cuffed the fifteen year-old around the back of the head, "Even I know we're meant to be keeping a low profile here!"

"It's fine!" Mikey rolled his eyes, "He didn't see me. Besides, I'm a ninja remember? Low profile is my middle name."

And then they heard the truck pulling up, a large, muscular woman stepping out, some sort of weapon in her hand.

"Let's do this Parker!" She spoke into her comms unit, as a small camera was let loose from the tire, hovering over her, "Welcome, Adventure Seekers! Welcome to another action-packed, episode of the Monster Hunter!"

"Monster Hunter?" Mikey winced.

"Once again, I, Doctor Abigail Finn, am close to bagging a mysterious creature… a shapeshifter living in these very woods!"

Casey who had gone to greet this intruder… and tell them to get off his property, groaned at the mention of a shapeshifter.

"Like the yeti, sasquatch and Bigfoot- "

"- Woah! Hold up!" Casey moved in front of the camera, "Stop! Cut!" He then turned to the woman, "Listen Doc, this is private property and- " He yelped as she grabbed his wrist, forcing his arm behind his back as she forced him to face the camera.

"Kid, what can you tell our viewers about the strange, shape-shifting creature that lives in these woods?!"

"What?!" Casey wrenched himself free, "Look, you need to leave! There's nothing in those woods except… woods!"

"There is a monster in these woods, and I'm going to find it! We have proof!" She turned to the van, "Parker! Pull up the video file!"

The side of the van slid up to reveal a screen.

"This footage was captured in the woods behind your home by one of your neighbours!"

The footage showed a Pitbull chasing another dog, only for that second dog to then shift into a bear, scaring the Pitbull away with a yip.

"What do you have to say now?"

"Oh boy." Casey groaned.

"Are you sure you don't want to change your statement?" She grabbed his collar, pulling him close, "What is it that you're hiding?!"

"Mikey, that is… ugh- "

"HI there!"

The pair turned to see April making her way outside.

"Don't mind him." She rolled her eyes, "He's kind of the village idiot."

"Hey, what do you- "

Slapping his mouth lightly, April's smile never disappeared from her face. "My name's April… and you are?"

"Doctor Abigail Finn, Monster Hunter! Perhaps you are familiar with my show?"

As the group talked, Mikey panicked around the side of the building.

"Ah!" He yelped, feeling a small electric shock run through his body, prompting him to spin around, glaring at Donnie, who was leaning out of the window, "Donnie! Give me a heart attack why don't you?!"

"Don't tempt me lame-brain." Don rolled his eyes, "Do you have any idea who that is out there?"

Mikey shrugged.

"That's Doctor Abigail Finn! A brilliant technologist! A gifted biologist!"

"Awww." Mikey pressed his hands to his chest, "My little brother has his first crush!"

Donnie's face turned bright red as he glared at Mikey, "She's also a certifiable lunatic! |Goes around hunting 'monsters'."

"She ever find any?"

"Not yet. But the way she's drooling over that footage of you, you might be her first."

As Donnie headed back inside, Mikey turned his attention back to the conversation, where April had appeared to have won the debate.

"… We've lived here for years, and the strangest thing we've ever seen was the occasional moose!" April's voice was a little high-pitched and panicked as she leaned in close to Casey, "Isn't that right dear?"

The Doctor didn't agree, "The video tape doesn't lie!" She sneered, getting into the van, "There's a monster back there, and I'm going to hunt it down!"

The van tore out of there, leaving a cloud of fumes behind.

…..

"I say we go after that video!" Mikey exclaimed as they gathered in the living room.

"Maybe this crazy doctor lady will just… give up and go away?" April winced at her own words

Donnie shook his head, "Doctor Abigail Finn never gives up! If she doesn't find what she's looking for out there, she'll come looking in here! She's obsessed with monster hunting!"

"Hmmm." Yoshi frowned, "Those who become obsessed are often their own worst enemy."

….

Watching from the tree branches as Doctor Finn rushed off into the woods with her flying taser bots, Donnie winced.

Not good.

"What she say?" Squirrel Mikey mumbled through a mouthful of nuts, perched on Donnie's shoulder.

"I couldn't hear because someone was eating nuts right by my ear!"

"… What?"

Shaking his head, Donnie silently jumped down to the ground, using a stick to shut Parker in the van, sliding it through the door handle.

"Now, if I were a video tape… where would I hide?" He heard Mikey mutter, prompting him to rush to the back of the vehicle, where Mikey was now inside the van… the cryo-chamber unit.

"Mikey, get out of there!" Donnie hissed, climbing in after him, "For all we know, this could be a…"

Alarms started to blare, as the large doors slammed shut.

"… trap." Donnie squeaked.

A bluish gas hissed out from the ceiling and from in between the floor panels.

"Ummm, oops?" Mikey winced.

His Father was going to kill him.

The room got colder and colder, forcing Mikey to shift into a polar bear, so that Donnie could snuggle close.

"Liquid nitrogen." Donnie hissed, pressing himself as close to Mikey as he could, "Instant deep freeze!"

"…. Should I lie on top of you? Help keep you warm?"

"N-No." Donnie was really starting to shiver now, "We need to get out of here. Can you find m-me a wiring box or s-s-something that I can short circuit?! We probably have about 15 seconds before we become p-p-popsicles!"

In his polar bear form, Mikey bashed on the door.

"It's not budging! Come on Donnie, use that big brain of yours!"

Donnie looked around the space, spotting the gas canisters and the pipes attached to them.

Eureka!

Pulling out his bo staff, he hooked it around the pipe, yanking on it until the pipe burst free from the wall, falling to the floor, a thick coating of ice covering the door.

"N-now Mikey!"

Mikey dived at the door, shattering it into pieces.

"Brain freeze!"

"C-c-c-come on!" Donnie climbed onto Mikey's back, "Let's get out of here!"

They disappeared into the trees just as the Doctor returned, snarling in anger at the sight of the broken van.

….

Donnie was wrapped up every blanket they seemed to have, feet in warm water as he shivered on the sofa.

"I can't believe you bozos walked right into a trap!" Casey cackled behind him.

"I believe it." Yoshi glanced over at Mikey, who winced guiltily.

"I-I feel sorry for all those f-f-fictional monsters s-she's hunted before." Donnie muttered, "She's n-not messing around."

"What if the monsters weren't so fictional?" Mikey quietly piped up, "She wants a monster to catch… why don't we give her one?" He smirked as everyone turned to him, "I have a plan."

And with Raph and Leo bonding in the barn, making Leo's new katanas together, it was up to them.

"This is your plan?" Donnie hissed.

"Yeah!" Casey growled, "This is crazy! I'm itching all over!"

"C'mon! You guys look great!" They moved through the woods, "Just follow my lead."

Donnie groaned, "I have a feeling this is just going to make everything worse!"

They all went to hide, waiting for the Doc to show up, making the occasional growling and wailing noises in order to draw her closer.

Once she appeared in the clearing, Donnie and Mikey jumped out, dressed in their costumes of moss, grass, branches and mud.

It was disgusting, but it made them look like something out of a budget horror film.

Casey then jumped out behind her.

"Goongala!" He hissed, "Goongala!"

With a sly smirk, Doctor shot at Casey, a large red net launching and entrapping him as he yelped in alarm.

"I've got one!" She cheered, "Parker, alert the media! I want a press conference at dawn! By then I'll have the other two!"

Shifting into a gorilla under the costume, Mikey lifted a log into the air, throwing it at the Doc, forcing her to dive to the side as the log smashed one of the cameras.

The crunch it made was very satisfying.

Two more of the robots came flying out of the trees, heading straight for Donnie.

"I knew this was a bad idea." He muttered, taking a few steps back as they shot out taser bolts at him, "Call those bolts?" He muttered, leading the bots further into the forest, knowing that he couldn't let the Doc see him use his powers.

Mikey would free Casey.

Once he was far enough away, he spun around, sending two perfectly aimed lightning bolts of his own back at the bots, making them explode.

Ducking into a bush to get changed, he heard Mikey and Casey making their way towards him, Mikey teasing Casey about the look on his face when he got netted.

And then he heard the growling.

"Donnie, you can quit growling now!" Mikey called out, "The crazy doc went in the other direction!"

"That wasn't me." Donnie stated, emerging from the bushes as Mikey's eyes widened in alarm.

There was another growl behind him.

"Donnie… behind you!" Mikey hissed

Slowly, Donnie turned around, only to yelp and take a step back.

"T-The Green Man!" He stammered, "I-It's real?!"

If Donnie could find a way to describe this creature, it would be that it reminded him of a giant sloth with humanoid features. It seemed to walk on all four legs, hunched over as it stared at Donnie. Slowly, it moved forwards, sniffing at Mikey as he clung to his younger brother.

"Mikey…" Donnie whispered, "… Have you got nuts in your pocket?"

"Yeah but- Oh." Mikey grabbed a handful, holding them out to the creature, who gobbled them up eagerly, "You like pistachios?"

It made a little noise of contentment as Mikey cooed.

"Can we keep him?"

Before any of them could answer, the creature suddenly reared up onto it's hind legs and roared, more flying orb-bots flying over them.

"It's the bots!" Donnie pointed at them, "They're upsetting him!"

The creature continued to roar, swatting at the machines as they tasered it. One of the swats narrowly avoiding hitting bird Mikey, and another sent Donnie flying into the bushes as he tried to absorb the tasers.

It then tried to run away, heading further into the woods

"Come on!" Mikey yelled, "We have to save the green dude!"

They all raced after it (Casey still in his disguise), only to watch as it was herded into the back of the Doc's van.

"No!" Mikey hissed, "What are we going to do?!"

"Casey and I will help get it out and find the footage of you just strolling through the woods." Donnie stated, "Mikey, you're the only one who can escape Doctor Finn, so you'll have to keep her busy."

"Eep!"

….

The plan was simple.

Trip up the Doc so that she was disorientated.

Turn into a hawk to steal her netting gun.

As she panicked to Parker over the communicator, Mikey hoped the other two were doing their jobs.

Using gorilla strength, he crushed the gun and dropped it to the ground.

"No!" She yelled, "This can't be happening!"

He then turned into a giant spider, dropping down behind her… and yelling BOO as soon as she turned to face him.

She took off like a greyhound out of the starting gate.

"Ha!" Mikey giggled, "A ninja a day keeps the doctor awa-AH!" He jumped as Donnie suddenly appeared behind him, "Donnie? Where's the green dude?"

An evil smirk flashed across his younger brother's face.

"Don't worry." Donnie practically skipped away, "It's all been taken care of."

"Today I, Doctor Abigail Finn, have captured a creature so rare it was believed to be merely a myth!" She spread her arms out wide, "Behold the greatest scientific discovery of all time! I give you… the legendary Green Man!"

Casey stuck his head through the bars, "Yo! Help! Save me from this crazy lady!"

The reporters all burst into laughter as the Doc shook her head in dismay.

"T-this can't be! My monster! My reputation! My network television deal!"

"You're crazy!" Casey yelled at her, turning his attention to the reporters who had crowded around him, "She chased me through the woods all night! Lunatic! She's the one who should be locked up!"

The reporters all went to crowd around the Doctor again.

From the treeline, Mikey and Donnie cackled.

"Donatello!" Mikey held up his hand for a high five, "You sly dog! What about the green dude?"

Donnie turned and gestured to the woods behind them, where the creature was watching. "Safe and sound… by the way, the green 'dude', is actually a dudette!" Two mini green creatures came rushing over, "A mother."

The creatures disappeared into the shadows, as the pair exchanged another high five.

….

Mikey ripped the tape apart as thoroughly as he could, April, Donnie and Yoshi watching from the front porch as Casey ambled over.

"See Dad!" Mikey pointed at the older teen, "Told you the green man was real!"

April and Donnie giggled at the look on Casey's face.

"What took you so long Casey?" Donnie asked in between his giggles.

"The reporters were more vicious than that crazy doctor! They'll be making fun of Doctor Finn for months!"

Before anyone could say anything, Raph came rushing over.

"Guys! Hey, guys! Come round back… there's someone I want you to meet."

They all frowned at the mysterious words, but followed anyway, knowing that Raph had spent a large amount of time with Leo over the last day and a bit.

Raph opened up the barn doors as a figure stepped into the light.

"Meet Leonardo! New and improved!"

Leo rolled his eyes as he pulled his new katana out of their sheaths, twirling them dramatically, before re-sheathing them.

As his family crowded around him, Leo couldn't help but smile at their enthusiasm, "As nice as this place is, we need to go back to the city." He stated, "And deal with Shredder once and for all."
