"Come on Dan we're going to be late, We have a flight to catch!" Phil exclaimed as he impatiently paced back and forth in front of the door to their flat waiting for his best friend last minute as per usual. Dan playfully mocked Phil as he joined him at the door "I didn't take that long." Phil smiled and they head out the door to the awaiting cab to take them to the airport. It was quiet, both men on their phones for most of the ride there.
They had finally arrived at the airport and had prepared to board the plane. "So Phil, how're you feeling?" Phil looks at Dan and yawns "tired." Dan laughs and pats Phil's back "you can try to rest on the plane.
"We're here." Dan states, stretching his arms a bit as they both stiffly walk out of the airport. It was midday, the sun shining bright on them both. Dan looked at Phil, who seemed to be in his own little world. "Nervous?" Gently bumping shoulders with him as he asked. Phil snaps out of it "Hm? uh kinda." Dan smiled reassuringly "It's always so amazing that people pick us as their make a wish." "yeah."
"It was so nice meeting you, thank you for being a fan" Dan said resting his hand on the teen's shoulder "yeah, it was a lot of fun hanging out with you here" Phil adds, smiling. They turn to leave after spending all afternoon with the teen. "w-wait.." The teen stammered causing both to turn around and face the teen again. "I-I just wanted to say you two have made me so happy while I've been here. Thank you so much for being here.." The teen weakly grabbed Dan's hand smiling slightly. "But I have something I want to ask of you two.. Something I want to know before I'm gone.." The teen closed their eyes, a single tear ran down their cheek. "..please" Dan Grasped the teen's hand tightly, tears welled up in his and Phil's eyes as well. "S-sure, anything" Dan replied shakily. The teen smiles weakly and whispers their question into Dan's ear. Dan froze silent for a few moments before nodding, tears spilling over his cheeks. The teen smiled whispering "I'm happy for you." The teen's grasp loosened on Dan's hand, their body becoming still. Dan and Phil stood in silence, their cheeks stained with tears from the teen's last few minutes.
The men hadn't said much of anything until they got to their hotel room. Dan sat on the edge of the bed seemingly spaced out. Phil sat down next to him leaning his head against Dan's shoulder sighing quietly "So, What did they ask you anyway?" Phil asks after awhile. Dan continued staring off into the distance before responding quietly "They asked if phan was real."
