Summary – Akashi always finds himself repeating the day Kuroko died. But he goes along with it anyways, hoping the boy would come back to life in front of him. But Kuroko doesn't want that. Character death.
Six.
Five.

"Hey," he would always repeat, "Let's stop around here."
Then the blue head would give him a queer look, and turn on his heels to face him. Oh, and of course, the red lights would change to green behind him. Akashi gulped, once again. "We don't need to go back this early." The usual words, the usual pattern, the usual everything.
The latter would steal a glance from his watch and shrugged. "I do need go right now, though." Then he would give him a childish glance. "Why, Akashi-kun – are you lonely?"
I wish, the captain would think bitterly. "No, it's just-"
The teal-haired boy would laugh slightly as he took another step, not looking at the road as the light changed to red.
Three.
Two.
One.
Then always, something would whiz past the boy, and he suddenly wasn't there anymore – but the scenery was replaced with a car stained in red. Akashi was always standing there, staring at the boy again, with that exact same shocked expression. And before he could recover, when he looked up, the boy was always standing there right next to him, ready to cross the exact same road.
"But that's not what happened, Akashi-kun." Kuroko tilted his head to side. The hetero-eyed captain frowned. "This isn't what happened."
"What?"
This wasn't how the day went.
"It wasn't me," The boy blinked. "It was you."
Memories flooded back into the male. Then he was back to that same day – just not how he always repeated it.
The scenery started out the same. Kuroko was walking alongside with him, quietly drinking his milkshake.
Then it was the exact identical words, actions, everything – but Akashi could feel that this was different. Kuroko took his steps backward. The car came.
And Akashi reached forward.
He felt his hands grip something soft, and quickly pull it back – as he found himself staring at Kuroko, whose eyes were widening. Pain and the color black had hit him next, along with a desperate voice.
"You remember now?" Kuroko asked, his face was stained with tears.
"Yeah," Akashi muttered. Then he raised his hand and cupped the boy's cheeks. "So you should move on now, too."
"Maybe I should."
End.
For those who didn't understand, this is what actually was happening:
Akashi had died to save Kuroko, but Kuroko didn't want that to happen – so his imagination brings in Akashi's soul, and repeats a situation Kuroko wanted – which was him dying instead of Akashi. But this doesn't change the fact that Akashi was the one that actually died, and Kuroko's sanity tells Akashi's soul the truth, and Akashi tells Kuroko to move on.
