Four Little Words
The water was warm as Pidge and Lance walked hand in hand on the beach as the sunset started painting itself across the sky. They had been dating for four years since their war days against Zarkon and after finally coming back to Earth, Lance had gotten the courage to ask her to be his Girlfriend. Sure they had their ups and downs, but every couple did and it didn't stop them from loving each other unconditionally.
Today Lance had something special planned for Pidge that he has thought about doing for a while and he finally got everything he needed to make it the happiest moment of her life. "Why don't we sit here for a while, my legs are killing me." Lance asked as he gently tugged Pidge to sit down with him on the sand.
"Really? We just got here Lance." Pidge chuckled as she sat down by his side, she leaned against his shoulder and intertwined their fingers together.
After a moment of peaceful silence between them, Lance looked at Pidge and cupped her cheek as he kissed her tenderly. She was surprised by his sudden advance on her but she returned his affection and kissed him back. The loving embrace lasted for a few more moments until finally they pulled apart and Pidge looked at him with a smile. "Where did that come from?"
"Pidge there's something I've been meaning to do for a while now. We've been together for so long that it feels like we know everything about each other. You've always been there to watch my back during our war against Zarkon and I've done my best to protect you whenever we go into a dangerous situation. It made me so happy when you agreed to become my Girlfriend and since then our relationship has changed my life in more ways than you could possibly imagine." Lance admitted as he brought her hand up to his lips to kiss it.
Pidge blushed at his words and was about to say something before Lance continued on saying, "I couldn't imagine my life without you in it and I want you to know that I will never take you for granted."
Lance reached into his pocket and pulled out a beautiful gold ring with a small sapphire in the middle that gleamed in the rose sunlight. Pidge cupped her hands over her mouth as tears prickled her eyes. "Katie Holt, Pidge, Will you marry me?"
"Yes! Of course I will!" Pidge responded as she flung her arms around him and pinned him down on the beach. Kissing him deeply and crying as she pulled away as he chuckled at her enthusiasm. He placed the small ring on her finger and gazed deeply into her eyes.
"I love you Pidge."
"I love you too Lance."
And they spent the rest of the afternoon enjoying each other's company as the sunset made way for a blanket of diamonds and moonlight to shine on them.
