SLIP AND FALL
By: Vanessa Sgroi
It wasn't easy slipping out of the bunker, especially with Dean seemingly watching him every minute. Sam shut the door behind him as softly as he could and hobbled a few steps away. Turning his gaze up at the night sky, he pulled in a deep breath of chilled air and contemplated his current predicament. One slip on the ice and BAM! A hairline fracture in his ankle, a bruised hip, a broken little finger, AND a slight concussion. Apparently, when all 6' 4" of him went down, it went down hard.
Since that fateful slip, Sam had been stuck in the bunker Dean mother-henning him to distraction. It was nice to get outside for a minute. Sam flinched when the door behind him opened.
"Sam?"
Sam sighed. "What?"
"What are you doing out here?"
"Nothing," Turning toward Dean, Sam shrugged. "Just getting some air, I guess."
Expecting a rebuke, Sam was surprised when Dean did nothing but step next to him.
"At least put on your jacket."
He felt his jacket settle on his shoulders.
Dean turned and headed toward the door. "There's a fresh pot of coffee on when you're done communing with nature."
