So. This is the final chapter. I really, really enjoyed writing this story, and I've already got plans for a possible sequel, although if that happens, it'd be a while away. Thank you guys for the love, and I hope you enjoy the last update.

Eric Hillchurch was the same age as Max, sixteen, and Jace hadn't been kidding when he had said that he was just a scared kid, who knew absolutely no control. Clary met him three days after she had been turned, and she was still making sense of the jumble of scents and sights that were suddenly surrounding her, and she could make out that he was confused and clueless, just wanting to be accepted and looked after. He was a foster kid whose caregivers were hardly ever there, they didn't care about him, and only kept him around to collect the cheque from the government.

Clary had felt a pull to him, to the scared look in his eyes, relating to the way he was feeling, even though she had only been turned for three days while he had been turned over a month ago. She spoke to Jace, asking what they could do for him, because he was a werewolf, he was like them, and it was like Jem. Even though he had been turned by another Alpha, he was lot and just needed somewhere that he belonged. Jace had more than enough money to take in another person, and he and Alec paid a visit to the caregivers where they quickly reached an agreement. They would take Eric in, they would sign the transfer papers over so that Eric could shift to the same school as Max and Jem, Shadow Hills High, and they could keep on receiving the government cheque.

Eric quickly adapted, eager to learn how to control his wolf so that he could carry on with his life. Clary was proud of him, and she was proud of her pack in general, at the way they could so easily accept someone new, and make them feel like family.

It only took Clary two weeks before she decided that there was no way she would be able to stay in her house. It was like an actual physical pain being separated from her pack, and it made her feel guilty about being away from the pack before she had turned, because she hadn't know how much it must have hurt them. She understood so much more why Max and Jem and the rest of the pack would turn up at her house when she was there, wanting to be close to her. She managed to stay one night at her house after she was changed, and she was awake by four the next morning, driving back to the Herondale house. Jace had been awake and pacing in the lounge, and he had practically flown out of the house to wrap his arms around her.

But one thing that she was stubborn about was keeping her own bedroom. It was opposite Jace's room, and more often than not she would wake and there would be at least one pack member in the bed, usually Jace, a lot of the time Max, and more recently Eric. If this was going to be a forever thing, never getting her bed to herself, she knew that it would get a bit overwhelming, but she knew that it wasn't always going to be a thing, having the pack crawl into her bed. When Simon had first been turned, he hadn't quite understood it, but he had this need to always be around the other were's, in constant contact with them, and they had given it to him until he didn't have such an urgent feeling need anymore. She was feeling that, and so for now, she liked waking up with someone else in her bed.

Apart from the need to be around the rest of the pack, she was still adjusting to her supernatural senses. The first day back at work after being changed she had only managed to make it through two hours until the noise from the kids screaming and laughing and playing had been too much and she had practically thrown herself from the building.

She was lucky that Aline and Helen understood, not many bosses would understand the whole turning into a werewolf and unable to handle being around children that she usually loved. It had only been a couple of days after she had been turned—Jace had tried to tell her to take her time, that she didn't have to rush—but Clary, being Clary had been determined to try and get things back to normal as soon as possible.

In the grand scheme of things, it didn't take her all that long to adjust, at least not to function normally. She had been living with werewolves for the past three years, and even though she hadn't expected to ever be turned into one, she was far more prepared for the change than most were. She was harder on herself than she probably should have been, but it worked out for the best.

"Clary!" Jem shouted. "Clary, come on!"

"I'll be there in a second!" Clary shouted back down as she stared at her reflection in the mirror. She blinked slowly, and when she opened her eyes, her green eyes had changed to glowing beta gold in the mirror. There was a flutter beneath her ribs, filling her with a warm feeling, that she now knew was her inner wolf. Her wolf had been anxious all day, eager to be with her pack and to let loose, and run in the forest. This was now her second full moon as a werewolf. The first one had been a bit of a mess, and Jace had needed to stay with her in the house to try and keep her under control while the rest of the pack had run in the forest. It was the same for Eric, he had been worse than her on the full moon, because he had already gone through a full moon with Gabriel and he hadn't even tried to help Eric learn control.

But this time Clary was more in control of her wolf, and Jace had said that she should run with the rest of them.

"Clary," Jace's voice was soft from the doorway, and Clary turned around to look at him.

Her friend.

Her lover.

Her Alpha.

"You ready?" Jace asked as he came closer to her, his own eyes glowing red in response to the gold in hers. It made her stomach tingle and the tips of fingers had pins and needles with anticipation. Jace was wearing a pair of a sweatpants and a sleeveless shirt that showed off his broad shoulders and muscular arms. Clary was dressed similarly; sweatpants, a sports bra and a tee-shirt that belonged Jace. "How are you feeling?"

"I'm good," Clary nodded. "I've got it under control."

"I know," the corner of Jace's smile pulled upward. "I know you do." He reached up and touching the pad of his thumb to her cheek, gently caressing the soft skin there before lowering it to her chin and lifting her face with his thumb and index finger. His gentle touch, his soothing scent...It made her and her wolf feel loved and warm. Jace leaned forward, nosing at her exposed neck, leaving a couple of soft kisses at the base of her throat, before dropping his mouth even further until she felt the press of his fangs against her collarbone. She sucked in a sharp breath and felt a slight pinch at her gums where her own fangs were beginning to drop before they both heard feet pounding up the stairs, approaching her room.

"Jace! Clary!" Eric appeared in the doorway, grinning widely before faltering when he saw the pair of them. "Oh..." the kid was still learning to listen and smell before approaching everyone, which sometimes he walked in on situation the other were's avoided. Clary was still learning, just like him, but she had been around this pack long enough to know not to just walk into a bedroom when a couple was inside.

"Everyone ready?" Jace grunted, his face still buried in Clary's neck, not bothering to lift his head.

"I think Max just broke one of Alec's ribs," Eric said by way of response.

"Fucking hell," Clary rolled her eyes in annoyance. "We leave them alone for ten minutes and bones are getting broken." Jace huffed out a laugh against her skin before pulling back, stroking her hair back from his face. He tilted his head forward and gave her a quick kiss on the mouth before turning around to look at Eric. The younger boy flashed a nervous smile, eyes flickering between the two of them. Despite the fact the pack had been welcoming and it was clear how much he liked them, it was still obvious on his face that he was uncertain sometimes if they were just putting up with him, and if he was a nuisance.

That was something that they had to work on.

"Come on, hun," Clary said as she ducked around Jace and slung an arm around Eric, giving him a quick kiss on the cheek and rubbed her nose against the side of his face briefly. Eric's eyes glowed happily and Jace joined them, clasping the boys neck in his hand and squeezing lightly before he lead the way downstairs.

The pack was outside, Alec now standing off the side next to his boyfriend, Magnus waving his fingers and sending a couple of blue sparks flying toward him. As if Alec couldn't heal fast enough, Magnus could be like an overprotective mother hen sometimes, using his magic to heal him even faster. The rest of the pack was clearly anxious to start running, with Max, Isabelle and Jem were fighting, jumping through the air and lunging at each other. The cracks and slapping sounds of their bodies coming in contact used to make Clary wince, mainly because even though she knew that they healed quickly, she hadn't understood the pain. But since she had been turned, she had realized that the flashes of pain were fleeting, especially on a full moon, and the play fighting was fun, got their blood pumping and their senses on high alert.

"Finally!" Simon cried out, throwing up his arms when he saw Jace and Clary come out of the house, Eric tucked under Clary's arm. Isabelle ducked out from behind Max and skipped over to Clary, throwing her arms around the red head and giving her a tight hug which would have left her with bruises if she was still human.

Jace didn't say anything to draw the attention of his pack, but as soon as he started walking toward the edge of the forest, they all followed after him. Alec took his place on Jace's left, and Clary was on his right, the rest of the pack crowding around them.

Clary rolled her shoulders back, feeling the breeze pick up her hair and gently blow it around her face, and she curled her toes, feeling the damp earth beneath her feet. When she breathed in, she could smell the fresh grass, and the bark on the trees, and the slight perfume of the flowers that were growing wild through the forrest. She could also smell the pack, but it was so much more than that. She could feel the pack, burning through her blood, in her veins, comforting her, soothing her, warming her.

She heard a low growl beside her from Jace, making prickles break out across her skin and her spine tingle and a smile spread across her face. Her eyes flashed gold and a second later, she was running among her wolves.
